the girls and the gays
[26 February, Saturday, 1930h]
natchannn :

nii-chan :

eta probably 5 mins
miwa-nee-san :
osamu’s upset you guys missed the ribbon cutting
tobi-nii-san :
you told us the wrong timing
miwa-nee-san :
no, you remembered the wrong timing
nii-chan :
natsu gave me the wrong timing too…
natchannn :
no i didn’t!
if i did, how did i get here on time?
nii-chan :
knowing the correct timing and telling us the correct timing are two different things
natchannn :
interesting
anyway
since you guys are late, the bigger tables have been taken up
osamu-san was able to reserve a small table for you guys but it’s not connected to our table
but we’re right beside you guys!
nii-chan :
awww :(
but okay! at least there’s still a seat for us
i saw on atsumu’s story that a lot of people showed up
tobi-nii-san :
he has good onigiri
nii-chan :
he really does
we’re nearby so tell osamu that we’ll be there soon!
natchannn :
got it!
see you soon!
Shouyou and Tobio turned the corner and took a moment to catch their breath. While it was true that their sisters gave them the wrong timing, they both lied when they said that they had left their apartment on time.
They had gotten a little bit distracted . Even after over a decade of being together, they had never been able to stop getting lost in one another.
It was sappy and gross. Kei hated them. (As if he was any better with his own partner).
They calmly made their way to Onigiri Miya as though they had not run all the way from the bus stop at top speed. Thankfully, the weather was still balls-level cold so they were not sweating but as Shoyou held Tobio’s hand, he could feel that both of them had sweaty palms. It would have been gross if they weren’t already used to each other’s sweat. They were on a sports team together, after all.
From the outside, they could already see just how packed the place really was.
Osamu and Rintarou were behind the counter preparing the onigiri and attending to the customers. Osamu’s part-timers were busy at the main outlet so Rintarou stepped up to help man the counter. The man must have gone there straight after practice because he was still wearing his EJP Raijin practice shirt underneath his Onigiri Miya apron.
At the table nearest to the counter sat Kita and a few of Osamu’s old Inarizaki teammates. Shouyou recognized some of them because they had watched a few MSBY matches and would tag along for dinner. Aran himself had dropped by during their MSBY practices a few times whenever he had a free day and had plans with the twins at night.
Speaking of twins, Atsumu was sitting near the onigiri display case with Wakatoshi, Kiyoomi, Watane and a woman neither Shouyou or Tobio had recognized. To Tobio, it was a weird match up. To Shouyou, it was a very interesting match up. Everyone on the team knew about Atsumu’s poly-pining. He wondered if anything had changed since their practice the previous day.
The place was just as crowded as Natsu said it was so the pair had a difficult time finding their sisters. Thankfully, Osamu spotted them standing awkwardly near the door and beckoned them over to the counter.
“Welcome to Onigiri Miya– Oh, it’s you two.”
“Nice to see you too, Miya-san.”
Rintarou rolled his eyes as he keyed in their orders. The three had gotten closer because of their mutual hang out spot so Rintarou had begun to use their given names. He had asked the same of the other two but they enjoyed watching Rintarou fight off a smile whenever someone referred to him as ‘Miya’. Four years and the man had still not gotten used to it.
Noticing a presence behind him, the temporary cashier stepped aside so that his boyfriend could talk to Shouyou and Tobio. As the husbands swapped places, Shouyou and Tobio could see the four different rice cookers they had running behind them, as well as the stacks of onigiris they were working on.
“Seems like a successful opening, Osamu!”
“Too successful. Didn’t prepare enough and now I’m losin’ my mind.”
“Do you need any hel–”
“Hell no. Yer sisters would kill me. Just take a seat and expect your food to take forever. Sorry about that.”
“Don’t worry about it! Uhm, do you know where they are?”
“Near the back, right beside the glass. Got you two a good seat with some good lighting and a pretty background.”
“Uhm… Thanks?”
A few people had begun to queue behind Shouyou and Tobio so Rintarou stepped forward to shoo the three away and continue taking orders. They were regulars at Osamu’s first outlet so both him and Rintarou already knew what the two were going to order.
After navigating through the crowd, they finally found their sisters and sat on the empty table near them. The outlet wasn’t even that big, it was just popular and everyone had a thick winter coat on or with them which just made everything more difficult to move in. Tobio frowned as he looked around; too many of them were still wearing their coats even though they were seated and eating. How were they not sweating?
“Nii-chan! Nii-san! You made it!”
Natsu got up from her seat and expertly dodged two people walking past their table as she went up to hug her two brothers. Tobio always felt some kind of warmth in his chest whenever she referred to him as her brother. They may not be blood-related or even siblings-in-laws (yet) but Tobio had been there to help Shouyou raise Natsu for the better part of her childhood.
He was there for her first day of high school, her first volleyball match, her first boyfriend, her first break up and most importantly, when she made the decision of which position she wanted to play.
(Both him and Shouyou both felt slightly betrayed when she declared that she wanted to become a libero but they supported her either way.)
Natsu was also the main reason Tobio and Miwa had a better relationship. As Shouyou and Tobio’s relationship progressed, it was only natural that Natsu would want to meet Miwa. At that point in time, Natsu was too young to completely understand the sibling’s relationship and Tobio did not want to explain it to her because she had such a positive outlook on familial relations.
So he sucked it up and invited Miwa for dinner at Shouyou’s house.
It was slightly awkward for both the Kageyama siblings at the start, but as it goes with the Hinatas, the bright family managed to bring both of them out of their shells. Natsu had made Miwa promise to come over for dinner more often and she agreed. (She had to. It was practically illegal to deny a Hinata anything they asked for.)
The dinners were the catalyst for the two to begin repairing the relationship between them that had been strained since Miwa quit volleyball and Kazuyo had died. For that, Tobio and Miwa were forever grateful to the Hinatas.
“Of course we made it. We wanted to get here before they ran out of onigiris.”
“Don’t be silly, nii-san. Osamu-san can practically pull onigiris out of thin air. They’ll never run out of onigiris.”
“Maybe if we invite Daichi-san here… He’ll definitely give Osamu a run for his money.”
Natsu laughed and had to return to her seat because people were trying to pass through. As the men nodded to Miwa as a greeting, they realised that both the women already had onigiris on their table. Pouting, Shouyou whined and begged for them to spare them at least one. They had used up all their energy before they left their apartment and during the run to the restaurant. The two men were starving .
As expected, Miwa denied them and purposely took a bite out of her smaller onigiri just to prove a point. What they did not expect was for Natsu to do the same. Shouyou accused her of betraying him and joining Miwa on the dark side but the younger one did not budge.
“Come on! You guys have two perfectly fine onigiris over there!”
“These are special. They should be saved for last.”
“Natsuuuuuu!”
“Nii-chaaaan!”
Shouyou proceeded to pout but Natsu was unfazed. Of course she was, she was a Hinata. They were immune to each other’s guilt tripping, it was a tolerance they built up over the years.
Deciding to give up on the matter, Tobio turned to talk to Miwa about their day while his partner continued to fight a losing battle. Though his relationship with Miwa had gotten better, they still had moments of communication issues. Except, Tobio had a feeling that Miwa was leaving out details of her day on purpose rather than because she wanted to cut the conversation short.
Before he could question it, Natsu jumped in on their conversation to tell the two men what she and Miwa had walked in on earlier that day. Apparently Atsumu, Wakatoshi and Kiyoomi have begun dating.
Shouyou was very happy for his friends while Tobio could not look more lost and confused.
Tobio had been on the team with Ushijima for a few years by then. They saw each other almost everyday, they sent each other YouTube links of cats doing funny things, they even exchanged recipes . How did he not realise that one of his closest friends had a thing for two people on Shouyou’s team?
“Why are you surprised, Tobi? Ushiwaka told us this before.”
“Wait, what? This isn’t supposed to be new information?”
“The dating, yes. The crushing? No. He told us over dinner that one time we had Miwa over, remember?”
“Oh… I don’t.”
“Babe, you’re too young to have dementia.”
The setter shot his hand out to grab onto Shouyou’s hair and squeezed. Maybe it was the cold weather but for once, Shouyou had not dodged fast enough. As Tobio maintained his grip and Shouyou continued to wince while saying that all the tugging was going to give him dementia, the two sisters took out their phones out to take a picture of their brothers and text each other.
[26 February, Saturday, 2045h]
miwa-nee-san :

she’s had a few bottles of sake…
natchannn :
o7
As Natsu was typing out her reply, a large hand appeared right in front of her face and scared her. It was just Shouyou trying to get her attention. Apparently the two had been calling out to them for the past minute but they were glued to their phones.
However, calling the two women out for their phone habits was always going to backfire because the two men’s habits were far worse. When Shouyou was in Brazil, Tobio had his phone on him 24/7. It did not matter what he was doing or who he was with, if Shouyou had texted or called him, Tobio would pick up.
Which sounded like a romantic and wholesome gesture if one were to ignore the fact Tobio had ‘taken a call’ nearly every time they tried to have lunch with him. If it was that bad around Natsu and Miwa, they could not even begin to imagine how it was like during his practices.
Shouyou’s phone habits were more so a result of his ADHD. He couldn’t help but pick his phone up everytime the notification went off and sometimes he’d reply to a text as he was speaking. It would have been more annoying if Shouyou somehow didn’t manage to pull it off, but he did. He could hold two full conversations online and verbally simultaneously.
Right as Miwa was about to bring up the time Shouyou hung up on her because Tobio had called him, Osamu appeared in between them to place two plates of onigiris on the men’s table. It was their usual extra-large onigiri that was too big to fit in one hand, but this time he added a special twist.
In the middle of the triangle was a heart cut out from the seaweed.
“Enjoy your meal, lovebirds. Hope it’s a memorable one.”
The chef gave the two a wink before walking away. Tobio missed it, but Shouyou caught the look Osamu and Miwa exchanged as he turned around. If Shouyou had to describe it, it looked devious. It was as thought they had something planned out.
Before him or Tobio could even pick up their onigiris and begin eating, Natsu stood up.
The youngest raised a bottle of sake and used her chopsticks to hit it to attract everyone’s attention. As the chatter in the restaurant died down, Shouyou noticed that the music that had been playing on the speakers earlier was suspiciously quiet.
He was right. They had planned something out and he had no idea what it could even be.
“I’m sorry for interrupting your meal but I’d like to get everyone’s attention!”
Natsu continued to hit the bottle of sake until all the eyes in the restaurant were on her, sans a few near the opposite wall that seemed insistent on keeping their eyes away from the scene. Shouyou found it suspicious that they had their hoods up when the heater in the restaurant was working perfectly well.
Tobio was giving both Natsu and Miwa a very confused and petrified look. While he had his fair share of embarrassing moments over the years and had lived to tell the tale, it was a completely different thing when it was their sisters doing the embarrassing thing. Tobio did not do well with second hand embarrassment.
Completely ignoring their brothers, Natsu and Miwa continued forward with their grand plan.
“Now that I have your attention, I would like to publicly propose to this beautiful woman right here.”
Natsu picked up the onigiri that she had been saving, broke it in half and pulled out a ring from the centre. Shouyou and Tobio were completely frozen in horror. They had no idea what the fuck was happening and their brains weren’t build to process such high-intellegence level events.
“I’d get down on my knee but then I’d be shorter than this table. So I’ll continue standing up, if that’s okay with you?”
Miwa nodded, a very fond smile was beginning to form on her face and Tobio wanted to spike a ball straight into it.
“Kageyama Miwa. Apart from my brothers, I never really knew what it was like to have a best friend until I met you. You helped me learn how to pick myself up when my own insecurities get me down. You taught me the value in maintaining relationships and how to reconcile with someone after years of tension. You were there when I needed you the most and I hope that I can be there for you too for many, many more years to come.”
Natsu took a pause and the customers around the store aw’ed at the endearing display. All of them were completely oblivious to the two men that had finally processed what was happening right in front of their onigiri and were currently trying very hard not to stand up and carry their sisters out of the store.
Shouyou tried to spot his friends to see their reactions but he could not see them over the crowd. The only person he could see was Rintarou who was standing behind the counter with a bored expression on his face and his phone out and pointed towards the two women. Towards the proposal .
“Miwa, there are a million things I love about you. I love your commitment to the things you truly enjoy, I love the way you dance to the music while you’re cutting someone’s hair, I love your chicken soup and the way you make them whenever me or my brothers are sick but my favourite thing about you is… Well, your brother.”
Sounds of multiple chopsticks falling to the floor could be heard from various parts of the restaurant; including Shouyou and Tobio’s own table. The couple did not know what they had expected from their sister’s antics, but it was definitely not that.
“Specifically, I love the way your brother makes my brother feel loved and treasured more than anything else in the world.”
More chopsticks hit the ground. It was like their own version of a laugh track but less comical and more outrageous.
“In my twenty years of life, I can remember each and everyone of Shouyou’s best memories and in each of those memories, Tobio was a crucial part of them. The first time I heard of Tobio was when Shouyou had come home one day and talked all night about his setter. He was so happy over finally having a partner that he did not sleep. When Shoyou and his team had made it to nationals, Shouyou could not stop mentioning the importance of having Tobio by his side and how great it felt to win with him. And, oh God. It only got worse when they actually began dating.”
A few chuckles could be heard around the room, likely from those that actually knew the two women and not the random strangers that had been forced to witness this upside down version of a proposal.
“When Shouyou told us about his decision to go to Brazil, Tobio was beside him. When Shouyou came back from Brazil, Tobio was the first person he ran to. When Shouyou signed on with MSBY and later on was asked to join the JNT, Tobio was the first person he called. Not to mention, they reprised their iconic roles as the monster duo at the Olympics. I’m not saying that Shouyou would have not gotten there without Tobio, but I am saying that Tobio was Shouyou’s biggest support, motivation and guiding light all throughout the years. And for that, there’s nothing more I’d love more than for Tobio to continue being there for Shouyou until the end of their days.”
At the end of her final line, Natsu got down to one knee and held up the ring towards Miwa. From where Shouyou had been seated, he could tell that it was the ring he had gotten for Tobio . It was supposed to be in their safe. He could not believe his little sister had robbed him .
Clearing her throat, Miwa stood up and grabbed her own onigiri.
“It’s really funny you say that, Natchan. Because I was about to ask you the same thing.”
The older Kageyama opened up her onigiri and pulled out a ring similar to the one that Natsu was holding. Even with rice grains stuck to it, Tobio recognized it as the ring he had bought for Shouyou. There was way too much to process and Tobio was losing his mind.
Similar to Natsu, Miwa made a comment about standing up because it would be real awkward if the both of them were on the ground and no one could see what was happening. That, and she really did not want to kneel in skinny jeans. This time, a few more people chuckled having caught on to the actual proposal and not the ‘I’m in love with your brother’ speech that they thought it was.
“Hinata Natsu. If others would say that your brother was the ray of sunshine that followed a rainstorm, then you were the rainbow that would appear alongside it. You’re a delight to be around and your presence could make anyone’s day better. I’ve never met anyone more cheerful and high spirited than you, not even Shouyou. You balance me off and I’m starting to think that’s just a Hinata to Kageyama effect. You make me feel like less of a gloomy person because it’s impossible to be so glum when you and your brother bring so much positivity into our lives. You two make us better.”
Miwa looked to her side for a moment to give Shouyou a small smile. They both knew that out of all the relationships between the four of them, hers and Shouyou’s was not the closest. They did typical bonding stuff, but not as much as Natsu and Tobio did with each other. Though, it did not make Shouyou any less of a little brother to Miwa and vice versa.
Shouyou realised what she was thinking and gave her a small and comforting smile. He had always played the role of the older sibling so it took him a while to adjust to having Miwa in the mix. But when he did, he found himself turning to her for advice and comfort when he needed it. It was true, they were not the closest in the bunch, but he loved her just as much as he loved Natsu.
Realising she had to continue her speech, Miwa turned her attention back to Natsu who was also smiling but looked like she was struggling on the ground. Ah, right. She was in skinny jeans as well.
“But most importantly, your brother makes my brother better. I know that Tobio and I did not have the best of relationships growing up, but even as a distant sister I could see how Shouyou had impacted him. He began changing the moment the two of them became partners. He finally had more to life than volleyball and I am forever grateful to you and your family for showering him with the love we failed to give him as a child.”
In the corner of Miwa’s eye, she saw that Tobio was frowning. She knew that Tobio hated it when she brought up how her and her parents failed to emotionally support him when he was younger. But she knew they did not deserve it. What they did was not fair and she often thought about what could have happened to her little brother. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case and it was all because of the Hinatas. She wanted to make sure it was included in her little speech.
“The minute Shouyou came into Tobio’s life, his world became a little bit brighter. Now, they are both standing at the top, at the brightest point of the mountain. They’ve reached the summit, but I think they are still going to find ways to get even higher than this. I have faith in them. They’re pretty damn unstoppable. They’ve been by each other’s sides for eleven years and I know they’re going to stick by each other's sides for decades more. So, why don’t we make this official?”
Miwa grinned as she got on her knee in front of Natsu (wow, the jeans were very uncomfortable) and held up the ring she had dug out of her onigiri. It was a little gross from the rice residue but it wouldn’t be a Hinata-Kageyama proposal if everything worked out perfectly anyway.
“Hinata Natsu.” “Kageyama Miwa.”
“Would you do me the honour of being my sister-in-law?”
“Would you do me the honour of being my sister-in-law?”
“Yes, of course.”
“Then, hell yeah! I accept!”
The two women jumped up from their positions on the floor to give each other a big hug as the restaurant burst into cheers and applause. After only two seconds of hugging, they both turned to face their brothers. Natsu passed Shouyou the ring so that he could put it on Tobio while Miwa slammed it on the table and threatened Tobio to put it on Shouyou’s finger because she did not just embarrass herself in front of tens of people just for him to run off at the last step.
Embarrassed and completely overwhelmed, the two men shakily slid their rings onto each other’s ring fingers at the exact same time. There were no losers to their competition, just winners. With tears in their eyes and shaky smiles on their faces, the two newly engaged couple got up from their seats and grabbed each other into a kiss.
“THAT’S MY KOUHAI!! CONGRATULATIONS!! They grow up so fast!!”
Shouyou and Tobio flinched in their seats and turned to the voice that screamed from the corner. It sounded familiar, too familiar. The people that had been seated in their winter coats earlier had finally taken them off at some point during the proposal and the pair could not believe what they were seeing.
Sitting across the room were their various friends and relatives from all over Japan.
At the furthest corner, they could see both their parents watching their children with tears in their eyes. Near them, Coach Ukai and Takeda were doing the same.
Near the wall opposite them sat their ex-Karasuno team members. Even Kei, Tadashi and Hitoka were there despite telling Shouyou that they were too busy with work to come for Onigiri Miya’s opening night. The only members that were not there were Asahi and Noya, but Shouyou could see them on a video call that Suga had pulled up on his iPad.
At the front of the shop, Tobio spotted Oikawa and Iwaizumi. The former had tears in his eyes and the latter was looking at Tobio with a proud smile. It took Tobio a minute to realise that Kenma and Kuroo were standing beside them because they were both still dressed up in coats and glasses. Likely due to Kenma’s local popularity.
And of course, they spotted their fellow MSBY, Adlers and JNT teammates watching from various parts of the room or from the outside and looking in through the glass. Even Bokuto and Akaashi were there despite having a newborn to take care of.
“Jesus Christ, nee-san. You guys called everyone . How long have you been planning this?”
“A week.”
“How the fu–”
“Natsu is very convincing when she needs to be.”
Said little sister looked up to give her new brother-in-law and sister-in-law a knowing wink. Tobio should have known. After all, the Hinatas were well known for their persuasion skills.
Still, the two of them were completely baffled by how much their sisters had done for them in less than a week . Not to mention, for four of those days, Natsu was back in Miyagi because she still had classes and practices. Despite all that, the two women still found the time to invite everyone important to the pair and rob their house.
Shouyou and Tobio’s respect for women grew tenfold.
“Hinata-kun!! Kageyama-kun!! Look, look!”
A woman with a video camera ran (stumbled?) towards the newly engaged couple and shoved the screen at their faces. Based on what Natsu had told them earlier about the whole Atumu, Wakatoshi and Kiyoomi thing, they figured that the lady was Kiyoomi’s sister. (And because she was clearly tipsy and Miwa had referred to her as an alcoholic).
On the screen was the whole proposal, but the woman had skipped to the specific part where Natsu had ‘declared her love for Miwa’s brother’. The reactions on both Shouyou and Tobio’s faces made all three of the women bend over the table, laughing. They looked terrified and it was entertaining .
As the women tried to fight off their laugh, the video continued playing and the men watched bits and pieces of the proposal once again. Except this time, they were able to see just how often one of them looked at the other and softly smiled whenever their sister talked about how important they were to each other.
It made the two men more emotional. They absolutely refused to cry in front of literally everyone they knew but Tobio could still feel his eyes getting a little warm. Despite this, they managed to keep themselves together. They’ll freak out about it at home.
The two men were about to walk over to the others that had shown up when Osamu yelled out from behind the counter.
“Oy! Stay there! Ya two love birds have not opened your onigiri-mail yet!”
“Oni–What?”
Shouyou and Tobio flinched when all three of the women around them yelled out as though they had forgotten something important. Judging from what had just happened, maybe it was.
Natsu shimmied in between her two brothers to pluck both the onigiris off the men’s plates. They were huge and could crumble if Natsu placed too much pressure on them but thankfully they did not. She passed an onigiri to each of them and asked them to carefully lay it flat on one hand and have the seaweed heart face up.
The two boys hesitantly obliged. As they figured out a way to manoeuvre the huge rice ball, Kiyoomi’s sister went back to her seat to continue filming from a better angle.
After they had peeled off the seaweed, they were a little confused. Inside was just a small ziplock bag with a folded piece of paper in it. Grabbing the onigiri from their hands, Natsu and Miwa insisted that the two men check on the paper right there.
It took them a moment to even pull out the slip of paper. Somehow, everyone in the restaurant had gotten quiet as they waited for a reaction. Even the actual strangers that only wanted some good rice balls actually paused whatever they were doing to wait for Shouyou and Tobio's reaction to a gift they have no idea about.
Finally smoothing out the note, Tobio realised that it was simple a time, a date and an address.
“What is this, Natcha?”
“Can’t you tell? It’s your appointment for you guys to officiate your marriage.”
The two men blanched as Natsu told them what the dates meant. To make matters worse, the date was set to the 27th. Tomorrow .
“Relax. We’ll help you guys figure out the actual wedding ceremony another day. First, get your asses to court tomorrow so you two can finally refer to each other as ‘husbands’ and we get to suffer less.”
“What the fuck… Usually the whole ‘officiating’ thing happens after the ceremony…”
“Do you guys want a shotgun wedding where most people can’t come, or a throughout, proper wedding that would happen a few months down the line so that your guests can save the date.”
“... I hate it when you’re right.”
“I’m always right, Tobio.”
As Natsu began talking to Miwa about getting started on wedding preparations, Tobio took a look around the room. He thought of all the failed proposals both him and Shouyou had attempted in the past and how it had gotten to the point where they just stopped inviting people on the chance that it were to happen.
But now, surrounded by everyone that had played an important role in helping him become who he was today, he realised that this was so much better.
His best friends, their fellow first years from Karasuno, were eating some onigiri while watching the scene unfold. When they realised Tobio was looking at them, Yachi gave him a genuine smile and a thumbs up. She was one of their rocks throughout high school. He knew that Yachi was just as happy as he was about the development.
His seniors had begun to mix around. Suga was still at his seat with Noya and Asahi on his iPad and all three of them were watching him and the other three. Daichi and most of the others were talking to the others that they had played against in high school.
His teammates were taking multiple videos and pictures of him and Shouyou. He just knew they were going to circulate around their group chat but for the first time, Tobio did not mind. (Besides, he was sure that whatever they had was most likely not as bad as whatever pictures Rintarou had been taking during the proposal).
And his parents off in the far corner were talking to both the Hinatas and the Ukais with all three couples looking proud at their sons for growing up.
Tobio turned to look at Shouyou last. His fiance was admiring the ring and the slip of paper as though they were precious goods that had to be handled with care. The man looked deep in thought but he had the most sincere, soft and precious smile Tobio had seen on his partner. It made the setter fall a little more in love with him.
“What are you staring at, Bakageyama?”
“Nothing… No, everything.”
“Everything? How could you stare at everything?”
“I was staring at you. You’re my everything.”
The setter found joy in how fast Shouyou’s cheeks and ears turned red. Shouyou gets embarrassed whenever Tobio would drop him random compliments, which made Tobio want to compliment Shouyou more often.
“You’re so sappy.”
“I know. You deserve all the sappy lines, after all.”
Shouyou’s blush darkened and soon the setter had an armful of a ginger man that was trying to shield his embarrassment from those around him. Tobio thought it was adorable that Shouyou got too jumpy when he would get compliments.
Looking around the room then down at the bundle of joy in his hand, Tobio smiled and let his chin rest on top of Shouyou’s head. As he did so, Shouyou tilted upward and gave Tobio a small kiss on the rip of his nose.
“You look happy, Tobi. I’m glad. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Tobio tightened his hold on Shouyou and as he did, he felt his ring knock into one of the buttons on Shouyou’s coat, reminding him of its presence on his finger. It made him feel butterflies. There was something so right about being engaged to Shouyou. It made him realise that this little ray of sunshine was going to be with him for a very long time and that alone was enough for Tobio to join in on Shouyou and blushing in front of all their friends.
“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you too, Shou.”
