Chapter Text
Hunter stayed by Omega’s side the whole time they got her ready for surgery mean while the rest of the team went to change out of their armor and into scrubs.
Tech, Wrecker, and Echo were all in a small room that one of the medics told them to go into so that they could change.
“Poor kid she must be scared right now.” Wrecker was the one to speak up first.
“She has Hunter with her right now and besides I’m sure she’s dazed on painkillers right now so she probably doesn’t even know where she is.” Echo said.
A few minutes at least gone by and Tech hasn’t said a word since Omega and Echo arrived. “Tech you alright?” Echo said with a puzzled expression.
“Yes I’m fine why wouldn’t I be.” Tech told him.
“Well you haven’t said a word since Omega and I arrived.” Echo said.
“I—I’m just upset right now I’ve never seen her in so much pain before and when I saw her crying I couldn’t do anything I was frozen in fear when I should’ve been helping her.” Tech said with his voice all shaky.
“I understand I was scared too.” Echo got up and put his hand on Tech’s shoulder. “Just be glad you didn’t see her get shot and fall.”
“How bad was it?” Tech asked him.
“What do you mean?”
“Her leg?” Tech said and instantly looked down after he said it scared of Echo’s answer.
“Like I told Hunter I won’t lie to y’all it looked bad I couldn’t even look at it after she fell.”
“What are the chances she could loose her leg?” Wrecker chimed in.
“I do not know given the fact I haven’t seen the state of which her leg is in.” Tech said.
Echo sighs “I guess we’ll find out in surgery.” He said.
The batch came back to Omega’s room and sure enough Hunter hasn’t moved he’s still in his chair beside Omega. “How is she holding up?” Echo asked Hunter.
“The doctor just gave her some pain meds so she’s kinda out of it right now but she was fine while y’all were changing if that’s what you’re worried about.” Hunter told the batch while they were walking towards her bed.
Wrecker was on the other side of her bed and he began running his fingers through her hair to try and give her some comfort.
Omega woke up to his touch still dazed on pain meds. Wrecker chuckled “Hey kid you ready for surgery?” He asked her.
“Huh?” Omega said.
“You’re getting surgery remember?” Wrecker reminded her. Omega just shook her head no. Then out of nowhere Omega began to laugh.
“What’s so funny kid?” Hunter said with a chuckle.
“He looks funny.” she said while pointing at Wrecker.
“Hey!” Wrecker shouted.
“You all do.” Omega said still pointing at Wrecker.
“Good to know.” Hunter told her while carefully guiding her arm back down on the bed.
Omega felt so tired she thought to herself “Is this what being drunk feels like?” Her eyes are starting to close she knows she shouldn’t sleep but she can’t help it. Her brothers start to notice her eyes drooping.
“Hey! Mega wake up! Don’t fall asleep yet Ad’ika” Hunter said while his hand was tracing up and down her cheek to try and keep her awake.
She tries to listens but the medicine is too strong to fight. “Uh-uh too tired.” She protested.
“She needs to head into surgery before she’s asleep I don’t know how we’re gonna keep her awake.” Hunter told the batch.
