All the Stars That Shine

Chapter 2: Ends of the Earth

Summary:

You and Loki stumble into the new universe you’ve escaped to and find it unbearably hot and dry. Loki is desperate to get back to the TVA.

Notes:

Meant to update a while ago but I saw Deadpool and Wolverine and now I can’t think of anything else and on top of that got Covid after four years of avoiding it.

Also thinking rewriting this whole thing.

Chapter Text

You ran through the door into the other side and you had only moments to move out of the way before Loki came crashing through after. He stumbled and fell onto the floor, landing on his back with a huff. You looked around, trying to get your bearings of this new place we’d gone to. That place was weird, the TVA, why didn’t you magic work there, and why did they want to keep you alive.

We were in a room with no door and no windows. Just a square opening near the top which was too high up and small to crawl out of. It let in light from the hot sun and dry air. The floor was just sand, not an actual floor. You were definitely confused it looked like we were in something man made but not actually man made. It doesn’t matter really, all that matters is getting the hell out of a confined space trapped with the Prince of Asgard. You turned and saw the door had disappeared thankfully and with your magic back you put the two tempads you’d in a little interdimentional pocket. You looked back to find Loki looking up at you with fire in his eyes.

“Where the hell did you bring us..?” He grumbled, sitting up and running a hand through his hair.

You felt my magic flowing thrumming to the surface as you straighten your back and backed away from him to keep yourself at a distance from Loki.

“Give me the tempad.” He demanded

“No” you replied watching him cautiously as he sat there looking with a glare.

Loki slowly got up, raising his hands cautiously as if you were some skittish animal about to run, well you probably would run if there was somewhere to go. It was an almost comical sight - the two of you were on opposite sides of a small room, just watching each other for any sudden moves.

“And why not?” He asked, raising a brow, “It’s got the only way to get back. Unless you wanna be stuck here forever.”

“I’m not going back there, and neither should you! That place is some trick you made up, what you got tired of pranking your brother and now you’re just going after other gods?” You say accusingly

Loki’s expression gave nothing away, but internally he was mentally going through the file he’d looked at about you, what time were you from?

“You must be quite observant,” He commented, beginning to walk slowly towards you, “Pardon me for interrupting this little altercation, but what year did you come from?”

“2007, why is that important?” You say looking around trying to form a plan.

The God froze and his posture tensed up.
“So you don’t know about…” He muttered, his voice becoming more guarded.

“You’re a frost giant.” You said bluntly starting to execute your quickly thought up plan. “All the gods know it, well maybe not your lineage but they know you aren’t an Odinson.

That hit Loki harder than he’d like and he tensed even more. Everything he had tried to hide, you were picking on with ease. He clenched his jaw tightly and grumbled, “Stop it.”

He continued to slowly move forward, trying to get the TemPad from you.

“Stay away from me or I won’t”

He stopped moving forward, standing just a few feet away. A small smirk spread across his lips, but there was no humour or joy in it.
Loki chuckled darkly, “You think you’re in control here?”

“I’m in more control than you are” you say tensely.

“Is that so?” He asked, taking another step towards you, “Are you sure you’re in control..?” Loki continued to move towards you, now much closer, as he spoke in a low voice that almost sounded like a growl.

“One more step, Jotün, and you’re not going to like what happens.” You threaten as you use your magic to subtly hide the two tempads into an inter-dimensional pocket where he will not get to them.

Loki stopped in his tracks and narrowed his eyes, tilting his head slightly. He studied you for a second, before taking another step, testing you, seeing what would happen.

You took a step closer to him refusing to let him close the gap and have the upper hand. You leaned up so you could whisper in his ear but instead of whispering you use you magic to boost yourself as you shove him hard into the wall cracking it slightly.

Loki was clearly not expecting that - as he hit the wall behind him with a grunt, before pushing himself off the wall and stumbling forwards. He looked at you with a mix of anger and surprise.

“You conniving little…” He spat out

He kept his eyes on you as you circled him, still somewhat in shock from the hit to the wall he just took.

You rush at him again and knee him in the stomach and throw him against the wall again in the same spot and watch as the wall cracks more.

Loki pushed off the wall and looked behind him, seeing the increasingly unstable wall. He then looked back to you, an irritated and somewhat amused look on his face.

“That the best you’ve got?”

“Try me”

“Gladly”

Loki was gone in a flash of green and was suddenly behind you, quick as lightning he grabbed you and flipped you around. His hand snapped out and grabbed you by the throat, pushing you against the wall.

“You’re gonna regret that.” He smirked, keeping me pinned against the wall.

Your heart races and as you windpipe crushes under his grip. You try to slow your thoughts, free your mind of panic and think of a way to escape. You try to pry his grip from your throat, but his grip is steel against your vein attempts. His inky black hair covers your eyes and your vision blurs in the dark forest of his locks. You concentrate with your last few seconds of consciousness and summon your magic to my knee as you aim and jab at his stomach, again and he goes flying back into the weakened wall releasing his hold on my throat.*

He hit the wall and slumped to the ground, his chest heaving as he attempted to get his breath back. He was dazed, but was quickly coming to his senses. He looked to you and smirked again, before he lunged forward and tried to grab you again.

You side stepped his attempt to grab you again and ran towards the damaged wall. Putting more magic into your foot you kick the wall and it breaks. You tumble through and roll onto my feel quickly as you look out to the world we’ve landed on you freeze in disbelief as you look upon an endless sandy desert.

Loki came racing through the hole behind you, still ready for a fight, and took in the sight of the desert stopping dead in his tracks. “What the hel..?” He mumbled, standing near you and looking around at the bleak sight.

“Where did you take us to?”
