Chapter Text

The air in Mystic Falls, usually thick with the scent of magnolias on Founders Day, now reeked of ash and phantom smoke. The town’s ancient ley lines, overcharged by the celebratory fireworks, had erupted, dragging every resident into a ghostly echo of the 1864 fire. Buildings flickered between solid stone and charred timber, and the screams of spectral victims mingled with the terrified cries of the present. The entire town was a burning, spectral garden, a purgatorial loop of history.

Damon Salvatore, his fangs bared, moved through the flickering inferno, Bonnie Bennett a beacon of raw magic beside him. They were searching for the source, the relic that had twisted the ley lines into this horrific convergence. Around them, figures shimmered into existence—ghosts of the past, caught in their dying moments. But then, more specific apparitions materialized: a young, defiant witch with eyes like Bonnie's, and a dashing, reckless vampire with Damon's smirk. Their past selves.

"Let go!" the spectral Bonnie shrieked, her voice a mournful echo. "Let go of him, before it consumes everything!"

"She's right, brother," the ghostly Damon snarled, lunging with a spectral claw. "You can't save her. You can't save anyone if you cling to this!"

The crypt’s explosion had fused them, Bonnie’s magic now a volatile undercurrent in Damon’s veins, his vampiric instincts a dark hum beneath her skin. They fought as one, a whirlwind of dark magic and supernatural speed. Damon ripped through the spectral figures, his blows imbued with an unholy witchfire, while Bonnie wove protective spells, her eyes flashing with an unfamiliar, predatory gleam. Each past self they encountered repeated the same chilling mantra: "Let go. Let go."

They finally reached the town square, where the Founders Day monument pulsed with the relic's dark energy. It offered a chilling proposition, a shimmering vision of peace and normalcy if they would only sever the magical bond that now intertwined their souls. The path was clear: sacrifice their connection, and the town would be saved.

Damon looked at Bonnie, a silent question in his eyes. He knew what he had to do, what he should do. But Bonnie, her jaw set, shook her head. "No," she whispered, her voice firm, resolute. "We don't let go. We reshape it."

With a shared glance, a silent pact forged in the heart of the inferno, they reached for the relic. Their hands met, and a torrent of power erupted. Bonnie channeled the raw, untamed magic of the ley lines, pulling it through Damon, who amplified it with his vampiric strength and ancient blood. It was a chaotic symphony of power, the past and present colliding, twisting, and then, miraculously, merging. They weren't severing the convergence; they were becoming it, forcing the timelines to reconcile, to coexist.

A blinding flash consumed the Burning Garden. When the light faded, the spectral flames vanished, replaced by the gentle glow of streetlights. The screams died, replaced by the confused murmurs of the townspeople, blinking back into a normal Founders Day. The air smelled of gunpowder and freshly cut grass.

Mystic Falls was saved. But their bond had left its indelible mark. Damon felt a familiar hum of power, but it was no longer solely his own. He could now channel Bonnie's magic, a raw, untamed force that thrummed beneath his skin. And Bonnie, catching her reflection in a shop window, saw her eyes, usually a warm brown, occasionally flash with a startling, vampiric red.

Bonnie smirked, nudging him. "You're stuck with me, Salvatore."

Damon grinned, a genuine, century-old smile. "Sweetheart, I've been stuck with you for centuries."

As the town slowly returned to its celebrations, a shadowy figure watched from the edge of the woods. Their features were a haunting blend of Damon's sharp angles and Bonnie's fierce grace, their eyes a swirling vortex of witch-gold and vampiric red. In their hand, they clutched a dagger, its hilt intricately carved with the intertwined crests of the Salvatore and Bennett families.

They didn’t go to the boarding house.
Didn’t speak.
Didn’t need to.

One minute, they were standing in the glow of the restored town square. The next, Damon had her backed against the brick wall of a deserted alley, Founders Day fireworks still popping distantly overhead. The air still smelled faintly of smoke, magic, and something sharper—them.

Bonnie’s breath caught as he leaned in, fangs just brushing her lip. “You feel it too,” he said, voice low and filthy. “The bond’s still burning. I can hear your heartbeat in my veins, witch.”

She smirked. “Then you know exactly what I want.”

“That’s the problem,” he growled, kissing her hard—deep enough to bruise, slow enough to taunt. “I know every filthy little thought in that head right now, and I’m gonna make all of ‘em happen.”

He shoved her dress up to her hips, the scrape of his hands rough against her thighs. She gasped as his palm cupped her between the legs, fingers pressing just enough to make her melt against him.

“God, you’re already soaked,” he rasped. “Guess saving the world gets you wet, Bennett.”

Her laugh was shaky. “Or maybe it’s the part where you almost die every five minutes.”

“That does it for you, huh?” His smirk turned dark. “Then you’re gonna love what happens next.”

He dropped to his knees, pushing her underwear aside. His mouth found her instantly—hot, hungry, tongue stroking her until she was trembling against the wall. His hands gripped her ass, pulling her closer as he sucked hard on her clit.

“Damon—” she gasped, fingers threading in his hair.

“Say you want me inside you,” he demanded, his voice wrecked and muffled against her. “Say it.”

“I want you—” she started, but he was already rising, unbuckling his belt in one sharp motion. His jeans hit his thighs, and then he was pressing into her—thick, hard, stretching her in one deep thrust that forced a cry from her throat.

“Fuck, Bonnie,” he groaned, forehead pressing to hers. “You feel like fire wrapped in silk. Gonna fuck you until you can’t stand.”

He set a brutal rhythm, hips snapping into hers, the sound of skin on skin mixing with the distant crack of fireworks. Her legs locked around him, nails clawing down his back as the magic surged between them again—bright, hot pulses that made every movement sharper, every sensation doubled.

“Harder,” she gasped.

“You’re gonna break, sweetheart,” he said, though his thrusts obeyed. “Gonna make you scream my name loud enough to wake the dead—again.”

The pressure built fast, spiraling with the magic until she was clinging to him, body shaking. His hand slid between them, fingers rubbing her clit in tight, perfect circles.

“That’s it,” he urged, voice a snarl. “Come for me. Show me what my witch looks like when she burns.”

Her climax hit like a lightning strike—white heat flooding her, the magic flaring out of her in a rush that made the air shimmer around them. Damon groaned, slamming into her one last time before spilling inside her, his own release triggered by the sight and feel of her falling apart in his arms.

For a moment, they just held there, chests heaving, bodies still joined, the faint hum of their shared power buzzing through every nerve.

He kissed her once—slow, almost reverent—before smirking. “Told you. Stuck with me.”

She smirked back, breathless. “Guess we’ll have to burn together, then.”

When they finally peeled apart, their skin still slick, Bonnie glanced down—and froze.

Just above her hipbone, where Damon’s hand had gripped her hardest, a sigil was blooming in faint gold light, lines curling in a pattern she half-recognized from the relic. She reached for his wrist, pulling it up, and there it was again—the same design, now etched deep into his skin in glowing crimson.

The intertwined crests of the Salvatore and Bennett lines.

The hum between them deepened, no longer just magic or vampiric instinct but something older, binding itself into their bones. She could feel it in every heartbeat, every breath, every trace of him still inside her.

Damon traced the mark on her hip with his thumb, eyes locking on hers. “Guess the universe just branded us.”

“Or warned us,” she murmured.

He smirked. “Either way, sweetheart… it’s permanent.”

Far beyond the alley, at the edge of the woods, the shadowed figure watching them turned the dagger in their hand. The sigil on the hilt pulsed once—gold and red—and the figure’s lips curved into something between a smile and a promise.

The bond was sealed. And the clock was still ticking.

Thank you all so much for your support. This site is truly special to me because it reminds me that somewhere out there, someone is reading my stories — and that means more than I can ever put into words.

My only wish is that I could hear more of your thoughts and feedback. I’ve worked so hard to grow and improve as a writer, and hearing your impressions — the good, the bad, the in-between — would mean the world.

Still, every single kudos touches me deeply. Those little hearts, along with every kind comment, have kept me going on days when I thought about giving up.

From the very bottom of my heart — thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of this journey with me. 💜 ❤️
