Chapter Text
VI never thought she'd come this far...never thought she'd make it to graduation; but here she was, seated in the fifth row waiting to be called. Her father and sister in the stands of the gym, her girlfriend on the other side of the gym also waiting to be called; life's just so damn good. If it weren't for her family and Caitlyn, Vi wouldn't be here...she probably would have gave up.
Vi smiled at the thought of her family...the thought of spending the rest of her life with her lover...she couldn't ask for anything more. She was dressed in a dark blue fitted suit, her light blue gown covered it; her hair neatly put in a bun, her cap slightly crooked thanks to the bun....Powder had woken her up extremely early just to help her out. It was a Saturday morning, the sun shined bright outside, Vi could smell the earthy smells even from the inside of the gym.... today just seemed so good.
She hadn't had the time to see Caitlyn before the ceremony started which she was bummed out about, but she knew Caitlyn was here...knew they'd find each other after. She was interrupted by the counselor calling Caitlyn up to get her diploma; and it sent a wave of happiness through her veins. She kind of wished she could see how beautiful her girlfriend was, but still...she was proud of Caitlyn. She knew Caitlyn worked hard to be at the top and all she wanted from Caitlyn was to always find her way....never give up. She wanted to see Caitlyn succeed, to accomplish her goals. As soon as she heard claps, she clapped herself away; the smile never faded from her face.
About ten minutes later, VI's row was called up; her heart was hammering out of her chest....she was really graduating. The district allowed one of her family members to help her on and off the stage, of course Powder agree ld to do it. So when her name was called, Powder gripped her arm and smiled "I got you sis....I'm so proud" Powder said and it made Vi crack a genuine smile; and so, Powder guided Vi to the center of the stage and she reached out. The principal locked hands with her with one hand and gave the diploma with the other and smiled "I knew you could do it Violet"
Somehow even if the gym was extremely loud, she heard Caitlyn... Caitlyn screaming...chanting her name. She smiled in response and spoke "thank you sir" and with that, Powder guided her off the stage

Kids crowded all outside with their loved ones, Powder guided Vi towards Vander who was standing outside in the parking lot. The second Vander saw Vi, he pulled her in for an embrace; Vi held him tight and for some reason she let a tear fall "your mother would be so proud of you kiddo" Vander said and it made Vi break. Powder stepped in and pulled Vi in for a hug "thank you...for not giving up fat hands" Vi chuckled "shut up" she clapped back which made the whole family laugh.
Powder pulled away and snorted "enough of this lovey dovey shit...let's take some pictures" Vander sighed "language powder" Powder waved him off; Vi just chuckled and just then, she nearly fell to the floor. She hadn't registered the fact that Caitlyn had entangled their bodies together... Caitlyn was too quick. Caitlyn buried her face in VI's neck and all Vi did was chuckle and rub her back. "Easy there cupcake..." Vi chuckled out as Caitlyn pulled away "I'm deeply sorry, just missed you is all..." Caitlyn let out. Vi chuckled and tilted her head "I missed you....I'm proud of you" Vi added.
Caitlyn smiled "as am I" she responded, but was interrupted by Powder "oh you too make me sick sometimes ya know...now turn around so i can take the damn picture" Caitlyn laughed while Vi playfully rolled her eyes; but did as she was told and faced the camera.
Powder aimed the camera towards the two and said "smile" and then *click*

Fast forward four years, Caitlyn and Vi were living together...married; Caitlyn somehow made her way up to sheriff in a short amount of time, Vi worked as her top warden. Vi didn't let her disability drag her down, if it weren't for Caitlyn's encouraging words, she would still be at home doing nothing.
But the last six months has been enlightening, Caitlyn was pregnant with their first child. At first Vi was scared because of her disability; but of course Caitlyn worked her through it..she made Vi see that, just because she was blind...didn't mean she wasn't fit to be a parent. And so over the months, Vi made sure to show all her love to Caitlyn...took care of her in ways she could.
Caitlyn was sitting in her office, working on a case from home...when Vi made her way in. She carefully made her way to the couch in the corner and sat; Caitlyn watched her every move and couldn't help but smile. "Hi love, you alright?" She asked as she flipped through the file on the desk. Vi leaned back on the couch and tilted her head "now that I'm here with you...I'm better" Caitlyn smiled, closed the case file, got up from her desk and wobbled over to Vi. She sat down next to Vi and grasped her hand "what's on your mind love?" Caitlyn softly said.
Vi took a moment to respond "it's about Powder's tuition...My dad can't pay it this year and I don't know what to do. She really loves this college and I don't want to see her up-" Caitlyn cut her off and cupped her face "I'll handle it..." Vi snapped her head up "Cait-" Vi tried saying but Caitlyn wasn't having it "Violet...I will handle it, it's alright" Vi knew she wasn't winning this...so she sighed and nodded. Caitlyn leaned in and kissed Vi's forehead; Vi trailed her hand down to Caitlyn's stomach and started caressing it "how's my muffin?" She said as she smiled.
Caitlyn put her hand over Vi's and smirked "well....Muffin is quite hungry I must say" Vi leaned in and kissed Caitlyn passionately "anything for my girls" she said as she pulled back and started to get up from the couch. And as she walked away, she turned her head "Caitlyn?" She called out in the most gentlest tone ever. And it wasn't new to Caitlyn...she knew what Vi was about to ask her, and so she said....
"You.... always you" she saw Vi smile and then, she left out the office...
