Chapter Text
First up, WE HAVE PLACE NAMES!
The demon universe is now called Oyarion, the people living there are oyarians and the language is Oyarian. I’ve also specified the actual functioning mechanism of the universe so that it’s indeed this parallel universe meets ’Stranger Things’ Upside Down where the oyarians escaped/voluntarily relocated 50.000 years ago, and they breathe in the same oxygen and experience the same gravity as humans do. They do, however, need some extra oxygen because they’re all so enormous, which is why they created the Neti - the narrow tropical strip that surrounds the entire universe and churns out the necessary extra O2 and also provides some medicinal plants for the oyarian pharma industry. Pfizer but make it alien! :D
Anyway, the castle from the first part of the series is called Chiron Rasa, and it’s located in the middle of their capital city of Baris Messene. There’s an adjoining subordinate town outside Baris Messene called Xashotope where some of the events of the sequel will take place, and there’s also that Great Plains-type of expanse where these guys grow and produce food called Akhenaton. Most of the around 30,000 remaining oyarians live in either Baris Messene, Xashotope or the smaller villages outside the cities. And also, the birth cocoon is called Bain Amara, and the birthing blob is still just a birthing blob :D
As mentioned in the story, breeder males are expected to move out of Chiron Rasa when their cub is about a year and a half, but Jim’s father was kind of a legacy sort of individual to Oyarion, so Jim has lived his entire life in the castle and was not asked to move out - quite the contrary: the government was very keen on having the septuplets close by at all times so they gifted Jim and the Reader their neighbouring apartment as well, creating a place big enough to house their entire family. Grace, Shawn and Corey still live in the castle as well - Corey’s breeding is getting closer - but Eloy and his wife live in Xashotope and Jim’s clone and his son have moved from the castle to the mushroom building (the Ngaio).
Next up, PEOPLE!
When I first started writing this fic, I figured that not naming the Reader was probably best for this full-on, immersive experience that I wanted to create. However, as I started drafting the plot of the sequel in my head, I realized that I really do have to name her after all. Believe me, nothing about the sequel is gonna make any sense if I won’t! Now our dear Reader is called Ariana, Ari for short - but only people closest to her (Jim, her aunt and uncle, Grace etc.) call her by that name. Also, right after the septuplets were born and when Corey et al. had that batshit crazy bowing-down meltdown moment, it’s revealed that some lunatic (=SHAWN!!!) went ahead and dug up the name of a deceased god-like figure in Oyarion’s ancient early history - Asherah - who was thought to be the patron saint of fertility and motherhood, and it basically caught on. Jim was obviously horrified, and in the beginning of the sequel oyarians have started to attach that name AND the baggage that comes along with it to Ariana in a pretty major way.
And here are all the other names! They’re mostly for context and my own fantasy nerd-out moments that I feed on for sustenance, so the oyarian names won’t be featured very strongly in the story - the boys, for example, will obviously still only go by their Slipknot names. Jim and Ariana’s cubs also have new names, but I’ll be introducing the babygirls properly as the story unfolds! <3
Jim: Raijin ”Jim” Radash
Grace: Qetesh ”Grace” Bastet
Corey: Khammo ”Corey” Shara
Corey’s French girlfriend: Eugénie ”Gigi” Mercier
Clone Jim (note the new name!): Bako ”Benji” Ashur
Benji’s son: Tamazid ”Theo” Ashur
Shawn: Sahak ”Shawn” Baishan
Mick: Marduk ”Mick” Emesh
The female healer (also new name!): Oserynn Kios
Eloy: Egiathan ”Eloy” Gansis
Eloy’s wife: Mei-Lin ”Mila” Tran
Ariana’s aunt: Helene Wilson
Ariana’s uncle: Scott Wilson
Note: oyarians generally don’t choose human nicknames unless they’re part of the Human Breeding Programme and they have to (Jim, Corey, Eloy, Benji, Mick) or they just super duper want to (Grace) or they are for whatever reason close to humans in their daily lives (Shawn, Benji’s son, the septuplets). Hence, Oserynn is over here living her best badass oyarian pureblood healer realness without one :)
And below are some moodboards of Oyarion - and of course our oyarian DILF Jim! - to get you in the mood for the sequel!
