Chapter Text
Vergil thrummed his fingers against his thigh in a slow, rhythmic tap that betrayed nothing to the casual observer as he sat rigidly on the couch, spine straight as a blade, shoulders locked with the kind of tension that looked almost calm to anyone who didn’t know him. The faint evening light from the window cut across his face, sharpening the already severe lines of his jaw and the icy set of his eyes. To a stranger he might have appeared lost in thought, composed, even regal in that cold, untouchable way of his. But Dante knew better. He knew that particular stillness, that precise rhythm of fingers against fabric, it wasn’t contemplation. It was irritation, barely leashed, simmering just beneath the surface like a storm waiting for the smallest excuse to break.
The moment Vergil had stormed through the door earlier, Dante had caught it instantly, the faint but unmistakable scent clinging to his brother’s clothes and skin. Sex. Thick, recent, and tangled inseparably with your scent, sweet and warm and still carrying the unmistakable edge of arousal. It was subtle to most people. But to Dante it might as well have been written in neon across Vergil’s chest. A laugh nearly clawed its way up his throat right then and there, but he swallowed it down, letting the smug grin spread across his face instead. Vergil’s sharp side eye sliced toward him immediately, one brow arching in silent, lethal warning, practically daring him to open his mouth and say something stupid.
Naturally, Dante took that as an engraved invitation.
“So,” he drawled, leaning back deeper into the opposite armchair with deliberate laziness, arms draping over the sides like he owned the entire room. The grin widened, slow and wicked. “I take it the lessons are… obviously working, right?”
He watched the way Vergil’s jaw tightened, the muscle jumping once, twice, a tiny fracture in that perfect mask of control. The finger-tapping stopped for half a second before resuming, just a fraction harder. Dante’s amusement only deepened, warm and bright in his chest, because this…this was better than any front-row seat to one of their old fights. Vergil, of all people, reeking of fresh sex and trying so hard to pretend it was nothing more than mission protocol. The hypocrisy was delicious.
Dante tilted his head, letting the smirk linger as he waited, knowing full well the silence between them was already stretched taut enough to snap. “I mean…” Dante drawled, letting the word stretch out like warm taffy, his grin sharpening into something downright wicked, “if my little devil nose is any better, it seems to be working *very* wel-”
“Finish that sentence,” Vergil snarled, voice low and lethal, each word carved from frost and venom, “and I will cut your tongue out before you can draw another breath.” The change was instant and vicious. His head whipped toward Dante, eyes narrowing into twin slits of ice and fire, jaw clenched so tight the muscle jumped visibly beneath the skin as flush that was faint, furious, and mortifying, crept up the sharp line of his neck, the kind of heat he couldn’t hide no matter how hard he tried. Embarrassment and pure, blistering fury warred across his face, twisting his features into a scowl that would have sent lesser demons running for cover. His fingers stopped their restless tapping against his thigh, curling instead into a white knuckled fist.
The threat hung in the air like a blade held to the throat, sharp enough to draw blood. For half a second the room went deathly still as Dante threw his head back and laughed with a full, rich, delighted sound that rolled through the space and bounced off the walls, bright and utterly unrepentant. He didn’t flinch. He didn’t even pretend to be intimidated. Instead he leaned forward, elbows on his knees, eyes sparkling with pure, brotherly mischief as he wiped at the corner of one eye like the threat was the funniest thing he’d heard all week.
“Oh man, you are so gone,” Dante chuckled, shaking his head. “It’s working too beautifully, Vergil. And yeah..I’m taking full credit for this masterpiece. Look at you, all ruffled and reeking of her. I knew pairing you two up would finally crack that frozen shell of yours. Hell, it might even bring you and her together for real… and save the world while we’re at it. Two birds, one very well placed mission. You’re welcome, by the way.” He winked, slow and smug, clearly enjoying every second of Vergil’s mounting rage. The silence that followed crackled with tension, thick enough to taste, embarrassment still burning on Vergil’s cheeks, fury simmering just beneath it, and something deeper, more dangerous, flickering behind his eyes that Dante clocked immediately but chose not to name.
Not yet, anyway.
Vergil reined in his anger with visible effort as the scowl lingered for another heartbeat, sharp and icy, before he forced it down, jaw tightening until the muscle stood out like a wire under his skin. His fingers unclenched slowly from the fist they’d formed, smoothing flat against his thigh once more, but the tension never fully left his shoulders. They stayed locked, rigid, the faint tremor of irritation still thrumming beneath the surface like a live current. He was not pleased. Not even close. Dante’s poking had struck bone, and the sting of it refused to fade no matter how coldly he tried to lock it away.
“I only agreed to this,” Vergil said at last, voice low and clipped, each word carved with deliberate precision, “because the threat of Mundus is real again.” He leaned forward slightly, elbows on his knees, eyes narrowing as if the very name tasted like ash on his tongue. “He’s making his presence known in the human realm once more, slipping influence through those cursed artifacts, possessing weak-willed fools to do his bidding. The balance is fracturing. This mission cannot fail. Not for anything. She…”He paused, the single syllable hanging heavier than the rest. His gaze flicked toward the window for half a second, jaw flexing again. “She is a means to an end. Nothing more. When this is over, we part ways. Cleanly.”
The words landed flat, mechanical, like a script he was forcing himself to recite. But Dante clocked the lie instantly. It was there in the way Vergil’s voice had roughened just slightly on the word “she,” the way his fingers had twitched against his thigh again, the way his shoulders hadn’t quite relaxed even after he’d spoken. Something had shifted in his brother the moment you were mentioned with a flicker behind the ice, a crack in the armor Vergil guarded so fiercely. Dante had seen it before, in fleeting glimpses during their long, bloody history, but never quite like this. Never with that raw, reluctant heat bleeding through the cold control. Vergil could deny it all he wanted, could wrap the mission around himself like a shroud, but the truth was already written in the faint flush still lingering at the base of his throat and the way his eyes darkened every time your name hovered unspoken between them.
But something else came to mind, a little plan uncoiling slowly and silently in the back of Dante’s head, sharp as a devil’s tooth and twice as mischievous as he leaned back in the worn leather chair behind his desk, the old springs creaking under his weight as he stretched his legs out and laced his fingers behind his head. For a long moment he simply stared at the ceiling, gaze distant, almost thoughtful, while the faint smirk played at the corners of his mouth. He knew he had to tread carefully. Push Vergil too hard and the man would shut down completely, retreating behind that glacier of pride and denial. But this… this needed to be said. Needed to be poked at until it cracked wide open.
“Maybe you’re right,” Dante began, voice casual, almost lazy, like he was commenting on the weather. Vergil’s side eye sliced toward him immediately, the icy blue narrowing just a fraction as he tried to read the trap hidden in those four innocent words. His fingers paused their restless tapping against his thigh, body going still in that predator-quiet way of his.
Dante let the silence stretch just long enough to be uncomfortable, then continued, slow and deliberate, each word chosen like a blade he was turning over in his hands. “You can go on your merry way after this is all over,” he said, shrugging one shoulder. “Pretending you don’t give two craps about that woman. Act like none of it meant a damn thing.” He paused, letting the words settle. Then the smirk formed that was slow, almost wicked, spreading across his face like wildfire. “But judging from these little lessons of yours…” Dante’s voice dropped, laced with knowing amusement, “she’s going to walk away from this a very confident sexual woman. One who finally knows exactly what she wants… and exactly what she needs from a man.”
Dante let the words hang for a beat, watching the way Vergil’s shoulders stiffened by another fraction, the faint tick in his jaw returning like clockwork. “Maybe she’ll find some nice, normal guy after the mission,” Dante went on, voice still light, almost conversational, as if he were spinning a harmless bedtime story. “You know the type, steady job, easy smile, no demonic baggage. Someone who takes her out for dinner, laughs at her jokes, lets her set the pace. She’ll be confident now, thanks to you. She’ll know exactly how she wants to be touched, how she wants to be fucked, how she wants a man to look at her like she’s the only thing in the room.” He tilted his head, smirking wider. “Hell, she might even bring him back to that little apartment above the bookshop and let him have his way with her.”
Vergil’s fingers dug harder into his thigh, knuckles whitening. A muscle jumped in his cheek. His breathing stayed even, barely, but the air around him seemed to sharpen, growing colder, heavier, like the room itself was reacting to the crack forming in his control but Dante didn’t stop.
He leaned forward, elbows on his knees, eyes gleaming with that knowing, brotherly mischief. “Or maybe she’ll go bolder. Hit up that club we're prepping her for and pick out someone who knows how to handle a woman who’s been properly awakened. Tall, charming, hands that know what they’re doing. She’ll walk out of there on his arm, flushed and satisfied, with no room left in her head for mission protocols or half demon complications. Just a woman who finally figured out what she needs… and it won’t be you anymore, because you made damn sure she thinks this was all business.”
Vergil’s gaze snapped to him then, sharp and burning, the icy blue flickering with something raw and dangerous that Dante had only seen a handful of times in their long, bloody history. His jaw locked so tight it looked painful. The faint flush that had crept up his neck earlier deepened, spreading just beneath the collar of his coat. He said nothing, not a single word but the silence screamed louder than any threat he could have uttered. His fingers had stopped moving entirely, curled into a fist so rigid it trembled once before he forced it still again. Dante saw it all. The idea of you belonging to someone else, laughing with them, moaning for them, walking away from Vergil like he was nothing more than a training exercise, was sinking in deep, twisting like a knife. He watched the seed take root, watched the flicker of raw possession flash behind his brother’s carefully blank mask before it was shoved down again.
But it was there now. Buried, yes. But impossible to ignore.
Dante’s smirk softened into something almost gentle, though the mischief never left his eyes. “You keep telling yourself she’s just a means to an end, Vergil,” he said quietly, almost kindly. “But we both know that’s bullshit. And the second she walks away from you and finds someone who actually wants to keep her… you’re gonna feel it. Every damn second.”
He leaned back again, letting the silence settle like smoke, watching the way Vergil’s chest rose and fell just a little too sharply, the way his gaze had drifted somewhere far away, toward the front door.
The seed was planted. Now all Dante had to do was wait for it to grow.
Vergil remained silent for a long time. The quiet stretched between them, thick and fragile, broken only by the distant hum of the city outside the window. Dante waited, watching the way his brother’s gaze had drifted somewhere far away, deep in the darkness of his mind. The smirk had faded from Dante’s face, replaced by something quieter, more careful. He knew when to push and when to let the silence do the work.
Finally, when Vergil finally spoke it was almost too quiet, a low murmur that barely disturbed the air, like he was confessing something he had never meant to say aloud.
“I don’t belong here,” he said, the words rough at the edges, scraped raw from somewhere deep. “Not with her. Not with any of this.” His fingers flexed once against his thigh, then stilled. “There’s too much blood on my hands. I’ve spilled more than most demons ever dream of, and I can’t regret any of it… because every choice, every mistake, every death led me here. To this moment. To her.”
He swallowed hard, the sound loud in the heavy quiet. For a long moment he said nothing more, jaw locked so tight it looked painful, eyes fixed on some point on the floor like the words themselves were weapons he didn’t want to turn on himself. When he finally spoke again, the voice was barely above a whisper, rough and reluctant, each syllable dragged out like it cost him blood.
“She’s…” He stopped. Swallowed again. “She’s something I shouldn’t touch.”
The admission came out flat, almost angry at himself. His fingers dug into his thigh once before he forced them still. “Too pure for the sins on my hands. Too… good.” Another pause, longer this time, like the next part tasted bitter on his tongue. “And yet I’d still drag her into it. I’d wrap every last shadow I carry around her like chains if it meant keeping her. If it meant she stayed mine.”
He didn’t look at Dante. Didn’t dare. The confession hung there, raw and ugly and unwilling, the kind of truth Vergil never let himself say aloud. His shoulders stayed rigid, spine straight, but something behind his eyes had cracked open just enough to show the storm he was trying so hard to keep buried, and terrified of how badly he wanted her anyway.
Dante didn’t dare interrupt. He sat perfectly still, the usual playful spark in his eyes banked to a quiet, watchful glow. The confession had landed between them like something fragile and explosive, and he knew better than to shatter it with another joke. So he waited, letting the heavy silence wrap around his brother like a second skin as Vergil’s mask slid back into place almost immediately. The raw vulnerability that had cracked open in his voice vanished behind the familiar wall of ice and steel. His shoulders squared, jaw set in that sharp, unyielding line, and the faint tremor in his fingers disappeared as he smoothed them once more against his thigh. He looked every inch the untouchable son of Sparda again that was cold, controlled, untouchable. But Dante saw the fracture anyway. It lingered in the too careful way Vergil drew in a breath, in the way his gaze flicked toward the front door before he forced it away before he rose from the couch with deliberate grace, coat settling around him in a dark sweep, every line of his body screaming that the conversation was over and he was done exposing even that much of himself as he turned towards the stairwell to go hide in his room.
Dante finally spoke, voice low and steady, stripped of its usual teasing edge. “You deserve that happiness too, you know.”
Vergil froze mid step, back still half turned.
“You deserve to live your life, Vergil. Not just survive it behind all that blood and duty and bullshit excuses.” Dante leaned forward slightly, eyes serious now, the weight of years between them heavy in the room. “If you really want her, if she’s already under your skin the way I think she is, then stop pretending she’s just a mission. End the denial tonight. Finish claiming every last piece of her before you let yourself regret it later… because we both know you will.”
The words settled between them, quiet but unrelenting, daring Vergil to keep walking or finally turn around and face what he’d already admitted in the dark as Vergil stood motionless for a long, suspended moment.
The silence after Dante’s words pressed down on him like lead, thick and unrelenting, forcing him to feel every jagged edge of the truth he had just unwillingly dragged into the light. His shoulders remained locked, jaw set in that familiar line of iron control, but beneath it all something restless and raw still flickered, a fracture he could not quite seal. His gaze flicked once toward the stairs that led up to his room, drawn there against his will, before he tore it away with visible effort and turned instead toward the front door. “I hate you,” he muttered, the words low and rough, almost swallowed by the quiet, bitter with decades of resentment and something far more complicated he refused to name.
Without another glance back, Vergil stormed out, yanking the door open with more force than necessary. His coat flared behind him like a shadow given form as the heavy slam echoed through the shop and faded into the night as Dante remained exactly where he was, leaning back in his chair, watching the closed door with a slow, knowing smirk that deepened by degrees.
He let out a quiet chuckle, shaking his head once. He knew exactly how this was going to go. Vergil wasn’t running away to find peace or solitude in the dark streets. He wasn’t going to clear his head or bury the feelings he’d just unwillingly exposed.
No. He was heading straight to you.
******
You lay in bed staring at the ceiling, the sheets tangled around your legs like they were trying to hold you down.
The city sounds drifted up through the cracked window, distant car horns, the low murmur of late-night voices, the occasional rumble of a truck passing by but none of them soothed you. They only grated against your already frayed nerves, sharpening the restless ache in your chest until it felt like something alive and clawing to get out. The faint lingering moisture from your shower still clung to your skin, cool in places, but it did nothing to ease the feverish heat that refused to leave your body. Every inch of you still burned with the memory of him: the deep, throbbing soreness between your thighs, the faint stickiness of his release that no amount of soap had fully washed away, the way your core still pulsed emptily like it was waiting for him to come back and fill it again.
You wanted to cry. The sting behind your eyes was sharp and humiliating, and you hated yourself for it. You felt stupid, pathetic even, because you had agreed to this mission. You had walked into it with your eyes wide open, knowing full well that you were never supposed to mean anything to him once the three days were over. Just a tool. A willing body for the sake of the greater good. And who were you kidding? You had been selfish from the start, greedy for the way his hands felt on you, desperate to taste what it was like to be wanted by someone like Vergil, even if it was only pretend. You had risked your heart for the chance to feel his touch, to hear that velvet voice call you “little pet” like you belonged to him.
Now you were paying the price. Lying here alone in the dark, the ache in your chest felt heavier than the one between your legs. Abandoned. Worthless. Used up and set aside the moment the mission reminded him of its boundaries. The memory of him fucking you against the backroom door flashed behind your eyes again and it only made the emptiness sharper. He had taken everything you offered and then walked away like it was nothing more than protocol. Like you were nothing more than protocol.
A single hot tear slipped free before you could stop it, trailing down the side of your face and into your hair. You didn’t bother wiping it away. You just lay there, breathing slow and shaky, wondering how much more of this you could take before the three days finally broke you for good.
But you couldn’t kid yourself.
The thought sliced through the haze like a blade, sharp and unforgiving, and you angrily swiped at the tears that had started to spill, the back of your hand rough and impatient against your damp cheeks. The salt stung where your skin was still flushed and tender from earlier, but you didn’t care. With a frustrated growl caught low in your throat you shoved the sheet off your bare body, the cool fabric whispering against your thighs as you sat up sharply, the sudden movement pulling a fresh, deep throb through your core, that sore, empty ache where he had stretched and claimed you so completely against the door. Your legs trembled faintly beneath you, the memory of his weight and heat still burned into every muscle, and the simple act of sitting up made your breath hitch.
You craved him even now.
The admission settled heavy and undeniable in your chest, raw and humiliating and impossible to push away any longer. You wanted him, his hands, his voice, the way he had pinned you and taken you apart like you were something he owned. Maybe he could care less about you once the three days ended. Maybe you really were nothing more than a convenient body, a tool for the mission, a means to an end he would discard without a second thought. But you would take what you could get. Every lesson, every filthy command, every devastating second he was willing to give you. You would hoard it all like a secret you could carry long after he walked away, and maybe.. just maybe, when this was finally over you could step back into the world and live your life fully for the first time. Awakened. Confident. No longer the same woman who had walked into this arrangement knowing exactly what it would cost you.
"Little pet," his dark, sinful voice slid through the darkness like velvet dragged over a blade, low and smooth and far too intimate for the quiet of your bedroom. "What troubles you so?"
Your heart slammed violently against your ribs. The sound of him with that rich, commanding timbre still carrying the faint rasp from earlier, cut straight through the heavy silence and sent a fresh jolt of heat and panic racing down your spine. Your hands moved on pure instinct, snatching desperately at the sheet you had just tossed aside moments ago, yanking it up to cover your naked body in a frantic, clumsy motion. The thin fabric bunched uselessly against your chest, doing nothing to hide the way your breasts still rose and fell with your shaky breaths. You knew it was pointless. He had already seen everything. He had mapped every inch of you with his hands and eyes and cock just hours ago, had felt you come apart around him against that backroom door. Still, the embarrassment burned hot under your skin as you clutched the sheet tighter, trying to shield yourself from his unseen gaze in the shadows.
A low, dark chuckle rolled out of him from somewhere near the doorway, rich and amused and dangerously intimate. It wrapped around you like smoke, the sound sliding down your spine and making your cheeks flush hotter even as fresh heat pooled low between your legs as your eyes narrowed sharply through the haze of lingering tears as you finally caught sight of him leaning casually against the bedroom door frame, one broad shoulder propped against the wood like he owned every shadow in the room. His posture was deceptively relaxed, arms loosely crossed, coat still draped over his shoulders but his gaze was anything but. It dragged over you with slow, unrelenting hunger, staring at you like you were the only thing that existed in the entire world right now, like every bare inch of your skin, every shaky breath, every trace of him still drying on your thighs belonged solely to him.
But you knew better.
This was probably just another cruel ploy, another calculated move to make you obey, to bend, to melt under that dark velvet voice until you were nothing but needy little sounds and trembling limbs again. Not this time. Not tonight. A stubborn spark of defiance flared hot in your chest, burning brighter than the shame or the ache between your legs. You wanted to rule this night. You wanted to take back some sliver of control, because you knew exactly why he had come back upstairs. The lessons weren’t over, and neither was the raw, desperate need he had carved into you.
You snapped at him, voice cracking with raw frustration and the lingering hoarseness from earlier. “How the hell did you get in here?”
Vergil’s head tilted slightly, the corner of his mouth twitching in the faintest hint of dark amusement. He glanced casually over his shoulder toward the front door for a brief, unhurried moment as if the question itself was beneath him before his eyes returned to you. The way your voice had risen, sharp and unsteady, seemed to catch something in him; a subtle shift in his stance, a flicker of deeper interest darkening those icy blue eyes as he pushed off the frame and took one slow, deliberate step further into the room.
Vergil’s lips curved into a slow, dangerous smirk, the expression dark and mocking as he pushed off the doorframe with fluid, predatory grace. “My, my… look at you, little pet,” he murmured, voice low and velvet-rough, each word dripping with taunting amusement that curled around your bare skin like smoke. “Raising your voice at me. Demanding answers like you suddenly hold any power here. How adorably defiant you’ve become after just one night of being properly fucked.”
He stepped closer to the bed, each movement deliberate and unhurried, the soft creak of the floorboards the only sound besides the thunder of your own pulse in your ears. His gaze never left your flushed, defiant face, but it dragged lower for a heartbeat, tracing the rapid rise and fall of your breasts, the way your thighs pressed together against the deep, aching throb he had left between them. The air between you grew thicker, heavier, charged with that same dark, electric tension that had pinned you against the backroom door when he finally reached the edge of the bed, towering over you, he leaned down just enough to hook two fingers into the edge of the sheet you were still clutching like a shield. With an almost lazy motion that was almost casual, effortless, and utterly controlled as the thin fabric was ripped away from your body in one smooth pull, cool night air kissing every inch of your exposed skin and leaving you completely bare before him once again. Your nipples tightened instantly under his stare. The deep, empty ache between your legs pulsed harder, fresh heat flooding through you as the evidence of how thoroughly he had ruined you earlier was put on full display.
You didn’t bother trying to cover yourself again.
You simply sat there, heart hammering wildly against your ribs, glaring up at him through the dim light with a storm of defiance, lingering hurt, and that traitorous, insatiable craving you could no longer deny. Yet you refused to shrink away. Refused to hide. You let him look. Let his dark, hungry gaze devour every bare inch of you while you stared right back, daring him.
Because tonight, you were done melting so easily and he knew it.
The hunger in his eyes had turned almost feral, pupils blown so wide the icy blue was nearly swallowed by black. His jaw was locked tight, the sharp line of it flexing as he fought for control. You could see the tension rolling through his shoulders, the way his fingers twitched at his sides like he was barely restraining himself from reaching for you. The heat radiating from his body was palpable, thick and heavy, making the air between you feel charged and suffocating. One more heartbeat, one more shallow breath, and he would have been on you, hands rough, mouth claiming, cock buried deep inside you again before you could even gasp.
So you think of the most logical thing you could do to try to stop him in this moment. You raised your hand. It was a small, steady motion, palm facing him, fingers slightly spread like a fragile barrier you weren’t entirely sure would hold but the effect was immediate and startling as Vergil froze mid step.
Every muscle in his body locked up at once, the predator in him halting so completely it felt as though your outstretched palm had physically struck him. The air between you thickened, crackling with raw, unspoken tension. His gaze snapped down to your hand, lingering there for a long, heavy beat, before it dragged slowly back up to your face. For the briefest moment something flickered across his expression with surprise, perhaps, or a flash of genuine disbelief before it sharpened into something far darker, far more dangerous. His eyes narrowed, pupils blown wide, the icy blue swallowed almost entirely by black hunger. The silence stretched, thick and electric, coiling so tight around the two of you that the slightest movement might make it snap.
Your heart hammered wildly against your ribs, so loud you were sure he could hear it. Fear and defiance and that traitorous, aching need twisted together low in your belly, but beneath it all you felt a fragile thread of confidence spark to life, shaky, uncertain, but burning hot enough to push the words out.
“Strip.”
The command hung in the air between you, bold and unyielding, your voice low but steady despite the way your pulse thundered in your ears. You lifted your chin, holding his stare without flinching. “I want to see you now. All of you. Every inch.” You swallowed hard, the motion visible in the quiet room, but you didn’t look away. “No more hiding behind that coat. No more control games where I’m the only one exposed.” Your breath trembled on the next words, but you forced them out anyway, letting them carry the weight of everything you’d been holding back. “If you want me tonight, Vergil… then show me everything first.” Your hand stayed raised, trembling just slightly at the wrist, but you refused to lower it.
Vergil didn’t move at first as he simply stood there at the foot of the bed, gaze locked on your raised hand like it was a weapon he hadn’t expected you to wield. The silence stretched, thick and humming, every second pulling the tension tighter until it felt like the air itself might fracture. You watched the subtle war play across his face, the faint narrowing of his eyes, the way his jaw flexed once, twice, the almost imperceptible tightening of his shoulders beneath the long coat. He was contemplating. Restrained. The half demon who had pinned you against the shop door and fucked you until you sobbed his name was fighting himself now, the iron grip of his control clashing hard against the dark hunger that still burned in his stare.
For one long, breathless moment you thought he might refuse. That he would simply turn and leave, or worse, step forward and take back control the way he always did before a slow, dangerous exhale left him, almost a sigh, and the corner of his mouth curved in the faintest, most mocking little smirk. “As you wish,” he murmured, the words low and rough, laced with dark amusement and something far more dangerous underneath. The concession sounded almost mocking on his tongue, but there was a strained edge to it, like the words had cost him more than he would ever admit.
You fought to keep your expression steady, to hold back the way your breath wanted to hitch, the way your thighs instinctively pressed together against the deep, empty ache still throbbing between them. You wouldn’t let him see how badly you wanted this, how desperately your body was already reacting to the mere sight of him giving in. But Vergil noticed anyway. His eyes flicked over you hungrily, searching for the smallest crack in your defiance, the slightest tremble or flush that would tell him you were already breaking as he reached up with deliberate slowness and shrugged the long black coat from his shoulders. The heavy fabric whispered as it slid down his arms and pooled at his feet in a dark heap. Beneath it, the fitted vest clung to the powerful lines of his torso, the intricate buttons catching the low light. His fingers moved to the first button, unfastening it with agonizing patience, then the next, and the next. Each small pop of fabric echoed softly in the quiet room as the vest parted gradually, revealing the smooth, pale expanse of his chest, the hard ridges of muscle along his abdomen, the sharp cut of his hips disappearing into the waistband of his leather pants. Every new inch of skin felt like a revelation that was flawless, lethal, marked here and there by faint silver scars that only made him look more dangerously beautiful.
You bit the inside of your cheek hard, trying to hold back the soft sound that wanted to slip free. Vergil’s gaze never left your face, but you could feel him drinking in every tiny reaction, the way your nipples tightened further, the faint tremble in your thighs, the way you fought not to squirm under his stare. He wanted you to break. He was looking for it, savoring the way your body betrayed you even as you tried to stay in control as he let the vest fall away without a glance, then moved lower as his hands dropped to the belt. The buckle gave way with a quiet metallic clink that seemed far too loud in the charged silence. The zipper followed in a slow, deliberate rasp that made your breath catch despite yourself. He pushed the leather pants down the lean, powerful length of his thighs, stepping out of them with fluid grace until he stood before you in nothing but the low light and the weight of his own hunger. His cock was already hard, thick and heavy, flushed dark at the tip with a glistening bead of precum at the slit. Long, sculpted legs, narrow hips, every detail of him laid bare for you, unhurried and unashamed.
The room felt smaller, the air thicker, charged with the slow burn of everything still unspoken between you. Vergil simply stood there, letting you look, his eyes still fixed on your face as he searched for the exact moment your resolve would finally crack as You greedily took in the sight of him. Every newly revealed inch of Vergil’s body pulled you forward like a magnet you couldn’t resist. You shifted closer on the bed, the mattress dipping softly beneath your knees as you moved without thinking, drawn by the raw, breathtaking reality of him standing there completely bare for the first time. He didn’t move. Not a single step. He simply watched you with that dark, unblinking intensity, letting you savor this small, fragile moment of power he had chosen to give you as if he were deliberately handing over the reins, trusting you with something he almost never surrendered to anyone.
The trust felt dangerous. Electric. It made your pulse stutter even as heat flooded low in your belly.
You slowly sank down onto your knees on the edge of the bed, the sheets cool against your shins, until you were level with the hard planes of his torso. Your hands rose almost of their own accord, trembling just slightly as your palms met the warm, smooth skin of his chest. The contact sent a shiver through you, he was fever hot, the muscle beneath your fingers firm and unyielding, rising and falling with each carefully controlled breath. You let your hands map him slowly, reverently, sliding down the sculpted ridges of his abdomen, tracing the faint, thin silver lines of old scars that crisscrossed his pale skin like secret stories you were only now allowed to read.
You felt every subtle reaction beneath your fingertips: the faint hitch in his breathing when your nails grazed a particularly sensitive scar just below his ribs, the way his stomach muscles tightened and jumped under your touch, the low, almost inaudible growl that rumbled deep in his chest when your palms drifted lower, brushing the sharp V of his hips. His cock twitched visibly, heavy and flushed, a fresh bead of precum welling at the tip as your fingers skimmed dangerously close without quite touching.
You looked up at him boldly, drinking in every micro expression, the slight flare of his nostrils, the way his jaw flexed, the dark hunger burning brighter in his eyes as he fought to stay perfectly still and let you explore.
He was letting you have this.
Letting you see him, touch him, map every lethal inch of the man who had always kept you at a distance and the knowledge that he was holding himself back, that he was giving you this power even while every line of his body screamed how badly he wanted to take it back, only made the ache between your thighs throb harder as your fingers trembled as they drifted lower, brushing tentatively along the thick, velvety length of his cock. The skin there was impossibly hot, smooth and pulsing under your shy touch, the heavy weight of him twitching at the first contact. You traced one hesitant fingertip from base to tip, feeling every thick vein, the way he throbbed against your skin, the slick bead of precum that smeared across your finger as you reached the flushed head. Heat flooded your cheeks, you had no idea how to proceed, how to touch him the way he had touched you, how to make him feel even a fraction of the overwhelming pleasure he had wrung from your body earlier. Your hand hovered, uncertain, caught between want and inexperience.
Vergil’s hand moved then, slow and gentle, wrapping around yours with surprising softness. He didn’t speak. He simply guided you, closing your fingers around his girth in a firm, perfect grip that made your breath catch. His larger hand covered yours completely as he showed you exactly what he wanted, a slow, deliberate stroke from base to tip, then back down again, his thumb pressing lightly over your knuckles to adjust the pressure, the rhythm. The motion was unhurried, intimate, almost tender in its silence, yet the heat of his palm against the back of your hand sent sparks racing up your arm.
He groaned then with a low, rough, and utterly raw, the sound vibrating through his chest and straight into you. It was the same guttural noise you had heard when he was buried deep inside you earlier, but now it was because of your touch. The sound spurred you on, giving you courage you didn’t know you possessed. You continued the stroke on your own, tightening your grip just a little more, finding the rhythm he had shown you. Another groan slipped from him, deeper this time, his hips twitching forward almost imperceptibly into your hand as his fingers loosened and fell away, letting you take over completely as you stroked him again, bolder now, thumb brushing over the slick head on the upstroke, and the low, broken grunt that tore from his throat sent a fresh rush of slick heat between your own thighs.
Vergil’s hips twitched forward once, almost involuntarily, chasing your touch before he caught himself and forced them still again. A low, strained grunt escaped him, his chest rising and falling a fraction faster now. You looked up at his face, greedy for every reaction, and the sight made your breath catch. His jaw was clenched tight, the sharp line of it standing out, but his eyes; dark, burning, half lidded were fixed on you with an intensity that made your stomach flip. He wasn’t hiding the hunger anymore. He was letting you see it, letting you feel the way his control was fraying at the edges because of you.
You tightened your grip just a little more, stroking him with more confidence, letting your fingers explore the thick ridge beneath the head on every upstroke. Another deep, ragged groan rumbled out of him, vibrating through his entire body and into your hand. His fingers flexed at his sides like he was fighting the urge to grab you, to take back control, but he didn’t. He stayed perfectly still, letting you touch him, letting you learn him, even as his breathing grew harsher and the muscles in his abdomen tightened visibly with every slow, deliberate stroke.
The power of it, of having him like this, bare and aching and letting you, made you feel dizzy, almost drunk. You were still shy, still uncertain in places, but the way his cock throbbed harder in your hand, the way his low groans turned rougher and more broken with every pass of your fingers, gave you the courage to keep going. To experiment. To drag your thumb across the slit again and watch his hips jerk, to squeeze just a little tighter at the base and hear the way his breath hitched.
You wanted more of those sounds. You wanted to see how far you could push him before that legendary restraint finally snapped.
Vergil’s breathing had grown harsher, each exhale rough and uneven against the quiet of the room, but he was still holding himself back barely. His hips twitched again, chasing the tight, slick glide of your hand, and another low, broken groan rumbled out of him, deeper this time, almost desperate before his hand closed around your wrist. It wasn’t rough, not the way you expected. The grip was almost reluctant, fingers curling around your skin with a tremor that betrayed how much he didn’t want to stop you. A needy, guttural grunt escaped him at the same moment, raw and strained, as if the sound had been torn from somewhere deep in his chest against his will. His cock throbbed hard in your palm one last time, hot and heavy, before he gently but firmly pulled your hand away.
You barely had time to register the loss before he moved. In one fluid, powerful motion he grabbed you, arms sliding around your waist, palms hot and possessive against your bare back and pulled you up against him. The sudden press of his naked body to yours stole the air from your lungs; the searing heat of his skin, the hard planes of muscle, the thick length of his cock trapped between your stomachs, slick and pulsing as he spun you both slightly, turning so that he could sink down onto the edge of the bed, the mattress dipping under his weight as he settled as you ended up straddling his lap, knees bracketing his hips, your soaked core hovering just above the heavy length of him.
The new position brought you face to face, close enough that you could feel the warm rush of his breath against your lips, close enough that his cock nestled hot and insistent against your slick folds, the blunt head nudging right where you ached the most as Vergil’s chest rose and fell against yours, his hands sliding down to grip your hips with bruising strength, holding you there, suspended right on the edge of everything. His forehead nearly touched yours, eyes half lidded and burning as he fought to keep control. You could feel the rapid thud of his heartbeat echoing your own, the faint tremor in his fingers where they dug into your skin, the way his cock twitched and leaked against your wetness with every ragged inhale as neither of you moved, the tension between you crackled, thick and electric, the air heavy with the promise of what came next and the quiet, mutual understanding that the moment you gave in, there would be no more holding back from either of you.
Finally, you couldn’t wait any longer as you rolled your hips in a slow, experimental grind against him, letting your soaked folds drag along the thick, searing length of his cock. The slick heat of your arousal coated him completely, the blunt head nudging and catching right at your entrance with every teasing roll. You tried to sink down onto him then almost desperate, aching, needing to feel that devastating stretch again, to take every thick inch deep where you still throbbed and clenched emptily from earlier. Your thighs trembled with the effort, a needy little sound building in your throat as you pressed lower but Vergil’s hands tightened on your hips, fingers digging in with bruising strength, holding you firmly suspended right there.
You nearly whined, the sound slipping out high and broken and frustrated as you strained against his grip, your body trembling with the overwhelming urge to impale yourself. You knew he was barely holding on, his control hanging by the thinnest fracture, chest rising and falling in ragged breaths, the thick length of him throbbing hot and insistent against your entrance like it was taking everything in him not to thrust up and bury himself to the hilt in one brutal stroke. “Look at me,” he commanded, voice low and rough, strained at the edges with the same desperate need you felt.
Your faces were mere inches apart. Close enough that you could feel the warm rush of his breath mingling with yours, close enough that you could see every flicker of hunger and restraint swirling in those dark, burning eyes. For one dizzying heartbeat you wondered if he would kiss you, if those perfect lips would close the last tiny distance and claim your mouth the same way he had claimed your body against the shop door. “Slowly,” he breathed against your lips, the word rough with barely leashed hunger. “Take me inside you slowly, little pet.”
You felt the command settle deep in your bones as your breath trembled against his lips, so close that the heat of his exhale brushed your mouth. You could taste the faint salt of his skin in the air between you, could feel the rapid thud of his pulse beneath your palms where they rested against his bare chest. Every inch of you ached to sink down, to take him in one desperate rush and chase the overwhelming sensation you already knew he could give you. But Vergil’s grip on your hips remained iron steady, holding you right there, hovering, trembling, the blunt, slick head of his cock notched perfectly at your entrance, teasing the sensitive rim without pushing inside as you lowered yourself by the smallest fraction.
A soft, broken sound slipped from your throat as the thick head parted your folds, pressing into you with that exquisite burning pressure. He was so big, the slow slide of him opening you up again felt devastating, your walls fluttering and yielding around the intrusion while your thighs shook with the effort of going slow. Inch by thick inch he filled you, the heavy drag of his cock stretching you wide and dragging against every sensitive spot inside until your breath hitched and your fingers curled tighter against his chest as he held perfectly still beneath you, every muscle locked tight. His jaw was clenched, breathing ragged and shallow, but he didn’t thrust up. He didn’t take over. He simply guided you down with that relentless control, a low, guttural groan rumbling through his chest when your walls squeezed around him.
Your forehead nearly touched his, noses brushing, lips a mere breath apart. That almost kiss hovered between you like a live wire that was dangerous, tempting, and terrifying as Vergil’s fingers flexed harder on your hips as another strained groan escaped him. His voice was wrecked when he spoke again, barely above a whisper against your lips. “Keep going… that’s it. Take all of me, little pet.”
You sank down the final inches with a broken whimper, until he was buried to the hilt inside you. The overwhelming fullness of him settled deep inside you, stretching you so completely that for several long, trembling moments you could only sit there, forehead pressed to his, breathing in the same ragged rhythm as he fought to stay still beneath you. Every tiny shift of your body sent sparks of sensation racing through you, the heavy throb of his cock buried to the hilt, the way your walls fluttered and clenched around his thick length, trying to accommodate the impossible girth.
The stretch was still there, a deep, burning ache that bordered on too much and melted into something devastatingly good with every heartbeat as you gave an experimental roll of your hips. The movement was small, tentative, but it dragged his cock against every sensitive spot inside you, pulling a low, shaky breath from your lungs. You flexed your hips again, testing, exploring, and slowly lifted yourself just a fraction, only an inch or two, before sinking back down with a small, needy whine that slipped out before you could stop it. The delicious friction was everything you had been craving: the slow, wet glide of him stretching you open again, the blunt head nudging deep inside with every descent, the way your clit dragged against the hard plane of his pelvis on the way down. You lifted yourself once more, slower this time, savoring the thick drag of his cock leaving you almost empty before you sank back down, grinding your swollen clit firmly against him on the descent. Another soft whine escaped you, higher and more desperate, as fresh slick coated his length and dripped between you. The pleasure built in slow, rolling wavesnot frantic, not rushed, but deep and consuming, each careful rise and fall sending sparks shooting up your spine and pooling hot and liquid in your belly.
Vergil’s hands remained locked on your hips, fingers digging in with bruising strength, but he still didn’t thrust up to meet you. He simply held you, breathing hard against your lips, eyes dark and burning as he watched every flicker of pleasure cross your face. His own control was fraying, you could feel it in the faint tremor of his thighs beneath you, in the low, strained groan that rumbled through his chest every time you sank down and took him fully again.
You felt the frustration hit like a sudden, sharp wave. No matter how you rolled your hips, no matter how deeply you sank down onto him, it wasn’t enough. Vergil was still holding himself back perfectly, maddeningly still beneath you, letting you set the pace while every thick inch of his cock throbbed hot and heavy inside you. You needed him to move. Needed him to meet you, to thrust up and match the desperate rhythm you were chasing. You wanted him to lose that iron control, to snap and take you the way he had against the shop door, hard and relentless and consuming.
A frustrated whine slipped from your lips before you could stop it. “Vergil…” Your voice came out shaky, edged with need and irritation as you ground down harder, trying to force more friction, more movement. “Please… stop holding back. I need you to move. I need you to-”
He let out a low, dark chuckle that vibrated through his chest and straight into you, the sound rough and teasing even as his fingers flexed tighter on your hips. “Careful, little pet,” he murmured against your lips, voice rough and dripping with wicked amusement. “You wanted control tonight. You demanded it. Are you already regretting how much you asked for?” The taunt sent a fresh flush of heat across your cheeks, but it also sparked something defiant inside you.
You looked him dead in the eyes, lips parted on a shaky breath, and deliberately squeezed around him hard, clenching your inner walls tight around his thick length in one slow, purposeful pulse as Vergil’s breath hitched sharply, a strained groan tearing from deep in his throat as your inner muscles rippled around him. His hips jerked upward once hard, involuntary before he forced them still again with visible effort. His fingers dug harder into the soft flesh of your hips, the restraint in his grip trembling now as he fought the urge to thrust up into the tight, wet heat of you.
But he didn’t stay completely passive. With a low, dark sound that was half growl, half amused chuckle, Vergil took back a fraction of control. His hands tightened on your hips, guiding you down firmly to meet the slow, shallow roll of his own hips. He gave you small, deliberate thrusts, just enough to nudge the thick head of his cock deeper, to drag it against that sensitive spot inside you with devastating precision but never the deep, punishing strokes you were aching for. Each guided roll and shallow thrust made your walls stretch and flutter around him, the wet, obscene sound of your bodies meeting filling the quiet room, yet it was maddeningly restrained. You could feel it in the way he held you exactly where he wanted you, in the dark satisfaction gleaming behind his eyes as he watched your expression twist with frustration.
This was retaliation, pure and simple, payback for your small act of defiance, for daring to squeeze him and challenge his control. He was giving you movement, yes, but only what he decided to allow, only enough to keep you teetering on the edge without ever letting you fall.
You whimpered, trying to push down harder, to take more of him, but his grip kept you right there, suspended in that torturous rhythm. Every slow, shallow thrust left you aching deeper, your core clenching greedily around his cock while fresh slick coated him and dripped between your joined bodies. The frustration burned hot in your chest, mixing with the overwhelming need until you could barely think past the desperate urge for him to let go and truly fuck you the way you both knew he wanted to.
Vergil’s breath ghosted hot against your lips, his voice rough and taunting as he continued guiding your hips in that slow, controlled rhythm. “Careful what you ask for, little pet,” he murmured, eyes dark and gleaming with wicked satisfaction. “You wanted control tonight… now feel what it costs you.”
“Vergil… please-” The words came out shaky, broken, barely more than a whimper against his lips. Your voice cracked with raw frustration as you rolled your hips harder, trying desperately to take him deeper, faster, to force the slow, maddening rhythm he was dictating into something more. Your thighs trembled violently with the effort, core clenching greedily around his thick length, but his hands on your hips remained unyieldingly firm, immovable, guiding you exactly as he pleased in those shallow, torturous rolls that kept you teetering right on the edge without ever letting you fall.
Hot tears of frustration burned at the corners of your eyes, slipping free before you could stop them. They traced slow, humiliating paths down your flushed cheeks as you strained against his grip, trying to grind down harder, to lift and slam yourself onto him, to chase the devastating friction you knew he could give you. But it was futile. Every attempt only made him tighten his hold, his fingers digging in deeper, keeping you right where he wanted you, hovering in that exquisite, agonizing limbo where he filled you so perfectly yet refused to truly move.
He was proving his point. You could see it in the dark, satisfied gleam in his eyes, in the way his lips curved in that mocking little smirk even as his own breathing grew ragged. He had let you have your moment of control, and now he was showing you exactly what it cost you. Every slow, shallow thrust of his hips dragged the thick head of his cock against that sensitive spot inside you, but never hard enough, never deep enough, never fast enough. The pleasure built and built without cresting, leaving you aching and desperate and sobbing quietly against his mouth.
You finally yielded as the fight drained out of you in a broken, shaky exhale, your forehead dropping fully against his as fresh tears slipped down your face. Your voice came out small, raw, and utterly defeated, trembling with need and surrender. “I need you,” you whispered, the words cracking open something vulnerable and terrifying inside your chest. “Everything, Vergil… please. I need all of you. Don’t hold back anymore. I can’t… I can’t take it like this. Just… take me. Please.”
You felt the confession hang between you, naked and desperate, your body trembling in his lap as fresh tears slipped down your cheeks. Every second stretched into an eternity while you waited for him to decide, whether he would finally give you what you were begging for, or make you suffer even longer for daring to challenge him in the first place. The fear of the latter clawed at your chest, sharp and cold, because you knew how merciless he could be when he wanted to teach a lesson. You could already picture it: him holding you there, trapped and aching, forcing you to grind against him in that same torturous, shallow rhythm until you broke completely and sobbed for mercy.
Before you could spiral any further into the worst case scenario, Vergil’s hands gripped your hips harder as his fingers dug in with bruising strength, the last thread of his restraint snapping audibly in the low growl that tore from his throat. In one powerful, unrelenting motion he impaled you fully onto his cock, slamming you down until every thick, devastating inch was buried to the hilt inside you.
The sudden, overwhelming fullness ripped a sharp cry from your lips. Your walls stretched wide around him, fluttering and clenching desperately as the blunt head of his cock kissed so deep it stole the breath from your lungs. The burn was exquisite, that perfect edge of too much that melted instantly into blinding pleasure, your slick heat coating him completely as he filled you so completely you felt him in your belly. You barely had time to adjust before he lifted you up, the thick head of his cock dragging torturously along your sensitive walls until only the tip remained notched at your entrance, teasing, threatening. Then he slammed you back down again, hard and deep, the wet slap of skin meeting skin echoing through the room.
Over and over he did it.
He used his grip on your hips to bounce you on his lap with ruthless precision, lifting you until you were nearly empty, then yanking you down again, impaling you fully with every powerful stroke. Each descent sent sparks exploding behind your eyes, the thick length of him dragging against every oversensitive spot inside you while your clit ground against his pelvis on every impact. Your breasts bounced with the motion, nipples tight and aching, and broken cries of pure bliss spilled from your mouth without restraint.
“Vergil!” you sobbed, the sound raw and shameless as wave after wave of overwhelming pleasure crashed through you. Your hands clutched at his shoulders, nails digging into his skin, body trembling violently in his lap as he fucked you exactly the way you had begged him to as you were sent spiraling into your climax without warning. One second you were lost in the punishing rhythm of his hands guiding you down onto him, the thick drag of his cock stretching you open with every brutal descent, and the next the pleasure detonated deep inside you like a breaking storm. Your walls clamped down hard around his length, fluttering and squeezing in violent, rhythmic pulses as wave after blinding wave tore through your body. A sharp, broken cry ripped from your throat, raw and shameless, your head falling back as your vision whited out at the edges. Your thighs shook violently around his hips, slick heat flooding around his cock and dripping messily between you while the orgasm ripped you apart from the inside out.
Vergil didn’t stop. He kept going, driving you down onto him with the same ruthless force, his hips snapping up to meet every descent so that the wet, obscene slap of skin on skin filled the room. Low, guttural grunts and rough groans spilled from his throat with every powerful thrust with raw, primal sounds that vibrated against your chest and sent fresh aftershocks rippling through your oversensitive body. You could only take it, trembling and sobbing in his lap as he fucked you straight through the shattering waves of your climax, never slowing, never giving you a moment to catch your breath as another climax was already building, fast and terrifying, the pleasure twisting higher and sharper until it bordered on pain. You cried out again, the sound cracking into a desperate sob as the overstimulation crashed over you, every drag of his thick cock against your fluttering walls, every grind of your swollen clit against his pelvis, every bruising grip of his fingers on your hips becoming almost too much to bear. Tears streamed down your flushed cheeks, your nails digging into his shoulders as your body shook uncontrollably in his lap, caught between the devastating pleasure and the overwhelming intensity that refused to let you go.
You were sobbing now, broken and helpless, lost completely in the sheer overstimulation and blinding pleasure he was forcing from you, your voice hoarse as you gasped and whimpered his name like a prayer and a plea all at once. And still Vergil kept moving, relentless and devastating, his own grunts growing darker, rougher, more strained as he watched you fall apart in his arms again and again as His voice broke through your screams.
“Little pet-” It came out strained and wrecked, raw at the edges, barely more than a guttural rasp against your ear. “I’m close-”
The warning was there, a desperate plea wrapped in that velvet rough tone, like he was giving you one last chance to tell him to stop, to pull out, to keep this from crossing the final line. His hips stuttered beneath you, the rhythm faltering for the first time as his control frayed to a single thread. You could feel it in the way his cock swelled even thicker inside you, throbbing hard and hot against your fluttering walls, the way his fingers dug almost painfully into your hips as he fought the urge to spill.
But part of you refused. You refused to let him leave your body. The thought of him pulling out again, of being left empty and aching and marked only on the outside, was unbearable. You wanted him to stay buried deep. You wanted to feel him come inside you, to be filled and claimed in the most intimate way possible, consequences and boundaries be damned.
You slammed your lips against his. The kiss was desperate, messy, and completely without caution, teeth clashing, breath mingling hot and frantic, your mouth crashing into his like you were trying to pour every ounce of need and fear and overwhelming want straight into him. You didn’t care if it shattered every remaining boundary between you. You didn’t care if this turned the mission into something far more dangerous, far more real. All that mattered was the searing press of his mouth against yours, the way his groan vibrated against your tongue, the way his hips jerked up hard and deep in response as you clung to him, still bouncing on his lap, still taking every brutal thrust he gave you. “Come inside me,” you whimpered, voice wrecked and trembling. “Please, Vergil… come inside me. I need it. I need you to fill me-”
Vergil’s hands tightened almost violently on your hips, a broken, filthy sound tearing from his throat and straight into your mouth as he finally gave in completely as his hips stuttered and slammed up one final time, burying himself to the hilt. The first powerful spurt of his release flooded deep inside you that was hot, thick, and endless, pulse after pulse painting your walls as he emptied himself completely. The wet heat of him filling you so full that you could feel it leaking out around his cock with every shallow after thrust pushed you over the edge again. Your own climax crashed through you in a blinding wave, your walls clamping down around him like a vice, milking every last drop as you sobbed his name into his mouth as Vergil held you there, locked tight against him, his forehead pressed to yours, breathing ragged and harsh as the last tremors shuddered through both of you.
His hands stayed possessively on your hips, keeping you impaled on his still twitching cock, like he couldn’t bear to let even a single drop escape and without a word he guided your head down, one large hand cradling the back of your skull as he nestled your cheek against the warm, solid plane of his shoulder. Your face tucked perfectly into the curve of his neck, where you could feel the rapid thud of his pulse and breathe in the mingled scent of sweat, sex, and him.
His arm tightened around your back, pulling you closer until there was no space left between you. His other hand stroked slowly down your spine, soothing and possessive, as if he could hold the rest of the world at bay just by keeping you here. “Rest,” he murmured against your hair, the single word rough and quiet, laced with something softer than you had ever heard from him as your eyelids felt impossibly heavy, exhaustion pulling at you like a warm tide, but before it could drag you under completely you managed one shaky, barely audible question against the skin of his neck.
“…Are you going to leave again?”
You already knew better than to expect him to stay. You knew this was still just the mission, just three days of necessary lessons and nothing more. But the words slipped out anyway, small and trembling, carrying every fragile hope and fear you couldn’t quite bury.
“No.”
The single word came out soft, almost reverent, brushing warm against your temple. Vergil’s arms tightened around you instantly, holding you securely against the warm curve of his shoulder. His heartbeat thudded steady and strong beneath your cheek, a quiet anchor in the aftermath. “I’m not going anywhere,” he murmured, voice low, the words laced with something deeper than simple reassurance. “Not tonight. Not like this.” His lips brushed your hair as he spoke, the faintest press of a kiss that felt more intimate than anything that had come before. “You did so well for me, little pet.”
The praises sank into you like warm honey, slow and sweet, wrapping around the raw, aching places inside your chest. You let yourself take them in, every quiet syllable, every gentle stroke of his hand down your back, letting them ease the sharp edges of doubt and fear that had been gnawing at you. Your body melted further into his, exhaustion pulling heavier at your limbs as the tension finally began to drain away. The sting of tears returned, but this time they felt different, softer, born more from overwhelming relief than from the pain of abandonment.
Vergil held you like that, close and unyielding, his breath warm against your hair as he continued murmuring soft, possessive praises into the quiet. “That’s it… just breathe. You’re mine right now. Let me take care of you.”
And for the first time since this whole tangled arrangement had begun, you let yourself believe him..at least for tonight.
