Katsuki falters in the air. Losing precious seconds that he could have caught up to Deku in.
Deku rolls to his feet, momentum carrying him into a too-fast, clumsy run.
He crosses the finish line like that, stumbling and tripping over himself like a fool. Dust-smeared and bruised and undeserving.
But the crowd cheers for him.
Katsuki had warned Izuku to stay away from UA, but even still quirkless, giving up has never been in Izuku's vocabulary.
