After surviving the police shooting, Dally is left with something he never expected: having to live without Johnny. Angry, grieving, and eventually sent to jail, the last thing on his mind is Ponyboy Curtis.
But while Dally is gone, Pony begins to fall apart.
When Dally returns, he finds a boy he barely recognizes. Quieter, lonelier, and heading down a road Dally knows all too well.
Neither of them knows how to grieve. Neither of them knows how to ask for help.
But maybe, just maybe, they can learn how to survive together.
