For all the kindness he shows his Desert District, Commander Fortsy's thoughts are often... much darker than expected, especially towards his President. Taught and fraying as it is, it takes everything within him to keep himself on that leash.

Should one fall in love with a soul not bound to their own, suffering would take root within them.
Flowers would bloom in their lungs until each breath became a struggle into the growing wound in their hearts.
Only by relinquishing that forbidden love could the blossoms wither and the agony cease.
Ish doubled over, a harsh fit of coughing wracking his chest as he clutched the cold metal railing, knuckles whitening with the effort.
Something felt lodged in his throat as he gagged, forcing it up with a violent heave.
When it finally came free, he stared down at his palm and froze in the sight of horrors..
Resting there were crushed lavender petals, stark against his trembling skin..
"Ah."
But..unfortunately, it had come to this.

Fortsy exhaled through his nose, patience thinning. He did not meet Ish’s eyes as he spoke.
"..Where is my wife?"
The world stilled as the music abruptly stopped. The candles dimmed, flames shrinking to flickers. Ish did not move at first.
His smile remained but it no longer reached his eyes.
Slowly, he straightened in his seat.
"..That," Ish said, voice calm but edged with something sharp beneath, "is a very rude thing to ask."
Fortsy looked up at him at last.
"To bring up another lover," Ish continued, tilting his head again, gaze unreadable now, "In the middle of our date."
