Chapter Text
Waltz: Prologue
The Alpha, Bakugou Katsuki, otherwise known as Atomic Bombshell the explosive hero, enters the grand apartment complex through fanciful rotating doors. Out of the rain, the blonde stalks through the lobby and slams his fist against the elevator button, he watches the numbers light up before the doors slide open, stepping into the small area, he reveals his I.D to the scanner and watches it light up green then jabs the penthouse button . . . as much as he loved being one of the top heroes, he hated how there were people in the crowds that attempted to seduce him and wrangle him into a date. It especially pissed him off when news stations sent Omega reporters in an attempt to get an interview out of him. Did people really think he’d be as weak as to submit to some Omega who so much as bats their eyelashes at him?
The elevator doors open to reveal the penthouse floor, the entire floor being his and his mate’s. Stepping foot onto the white marbled hallway floors, he walks towards the two large, bronze doors at the end of the well-lit hallway, the walls were painted white and the doors had swirling patterns etched into them, there were a few paintings on the walls and some faux plants decorating the way. Pulling his keys out, he unlocks the doors and as soon as he pushes on one of the doors, he hears a familiar voice singing; the tune filters through the crack . . . he hated how there were people in the crowds that attempted to seduce him and wrangle him into a date as not a one person stood a chance in hell against the one who’d had his stupid heart since his days in U.A.
Stepping through the doors and into the main room, he follows the sound of the alluring song and comes into the living room where he finds his husband and mate standing in front of the large windows, staring out at the drizzling world, arms wrapped around himself. Approaching his mate, he realizes he’s returning the love song when he wraps his arms around Shouto, burying his nose into the crook of the Omega’s neck and rests his hands flat atop the latter’s distended belly . . . he and Shouto are to be parents in another two months. October.
“You’re soaked.” Shouto murmurs, “Is it really raining that hard?”
“Yes.” mutters Katsuki, “Damn rain fucked my quirk up.” Shouto hums, Katsuki presses a kiss to his mate’s scent gland, “You need to rest which means you need to go sit your ass down.”
Shouto sighs, “Do you realize how boring that is?”
“Luckily for you I’ve got all day off tomorrow.”
“Luckily?” huffs Shouto, “All you’re going to do is demand I rest at all times and do everything around the house even though I can clearly get a glass of water on my own.”
Katsuki huffs a laugh, “Did you eat?”
“No.” the Omega huffs, “You banned me from ever using the kitchen.”
“Couldn’t you have made yourself a sandwich or some shit like that?”
“I don’t want a sandwich.”
“You and your fucking cravings.” Katsuki pulls away, grabbing Shouto’s hand and leading them towards the kitchen the Omega is not allowed in unless supervised, “So what is it you want?”
“Something hot . . . like a soup. Chicken soup and tomato soup and grilled cheese.”
“Quite an order.”
“I’m eating for two.”
The blonde sits his heterochromatic eyed husband atop a cushioned chair, a cushion which Shouto had bought, “Does that still piss your old man off or has he gotten over himself?”
“He still hates that I chose you, but he knows there’s nothing that he can do about it.”
The first time Shouto had told his dad of his relationship with Katsuki, Endeavor had flipped and tried to explain to his son how their quirks were simply not compatible as exploding ice, exploding fire, exploding ice and fire was pretty redundant. To Katsuki, those combinations seemed pretty awesome. It even made him laugh his ass off when Shouto had told him that he had blinked and simply said that it only meant more firepower and that his old man had not been pleased with his smart-ass answer . . . Endeavor’s lack of approval was okay though as Shouto’s mother had given them her blessings, as well as both of Katsuki’s parents, his mom going overboard with the news.
Once their odd dinner is finished, Katsuki fills two bowls and sets both before Shouto then returns to the stove, he grabs a plate and sets two grilled cheese atop the plate and sets that in front of the Omega as well.
“Thank you.”
“No problem.”
Grabbing his own food, he sits across from Shouto and watches the Omega grab a sandwich and dip it into the tomato soup . . . feeling that familiar emotion of love for the other, Katsuki turns his attention to his grub . . . he loved Shouto so goddamn much it hurt, he’d been so goddamn happy when Shouto had agreed to marry him and take his last name, and for their honeymoon the newly titled Bakugou Shouto had allowed him to mark him, the bite to the scent gland located on the crook of his neck causing a heat. Now they were mates. They belonged to one another in every sense and it filled him with possessive joy, his chest threatening to burst with just how fucking happy he is.
Finishing their dinner, Katsuki takes the dishes and cleans them, ushering the Omega out of the room despite Shouto wanting to stay and help . . . shuffling into their room, the master bedroom, he finds Shouto nestled within the large and fluffy nest he’d built the very same day he’d learnt he was pregnant. Closing the door and approaching the nest, Katsuki crawls into the nest and rests behind his pregnant mate.
Shouto murmurs sleepily, “Love you, Katsuki.”
Katsuki wraps his arms around Shouto, pressing his nose against the back of his husband’s neck, “I love you too, Shouto.”
“I love you so much.”
