Chapter Text
“Why don’t you take a swan dive off the roof? Maybe you’ll be born with a quirk in your next life!”
The words echoed in his head, the soundbyte only adding to the endless cacophony of noise that played in his head, telling him he wasn’t good enough, wasn’t strong enough, could n e v e r be a hero.
His day only got worse when he was caught in the middle of a villain battle, and told by his childhood idol that he couldn’t be a hero.
He walked past a villain battle after seeing it was the same sludge asshole who caught him earlier. He missed the fact that a streak of blonde reached out for him and continued on.
Midoriya Izuku stood on the roof of his school building, shoes to the side and a single piece of paper folded neatly inside. Could he really do something so drastic?
Footsteps echoed behind him, someone trying to walk quietly. Midoriya spoke quietly, unsure if they could hear him.
“Don’t try and stop me. There’s no hope for a quirkless loser like me” Izuku leaned over the edge, preparing to fall before being yanked back.
He looked at who stopped him and was surprised to find a girl there.
“Hey, you heard me, right? Right?? I’m Himiko Toga, your new best friend! C’mom, lets play!”
“Why? Why did you stop me?” Izuku looked tired, and that was doing him justice. The kid looked like a wet dog, maybe 50 pounds soaking wet
“You’re funny!" Himiko laughed, showing off her glittering fangs. "What’s your name, I like you!” She spoke quickly. It wasn’t smooth, the sentences disjointed like she couldn’t decide what sentence to get out first.
“M-Midoriya. Izuku Midoriya” he looked her over, noting her seemingly simple appearance. However, some pieces on her stood out. “What do you need blood for?”
She stopped, suddenly shocked. “Izuku-chan, what did you say?” Her eyes began glittering. Maybe this kid was smarter than he looked? If so, he could be really useful.
“Y-your quirk, T-toga. You can use blood to do something, can’t you? That’s why you have those sharp teeth and cat eyes, but no other cat-like features.” He listed off quickly, murmuring casually, like quirk analyzation was normal for him.
“It’s Himiko to you, Izuku-chan. And my quirk.... can I see your arm?”
Wordlessly, Midoriya pulled out his arm. “I was planning to die anyways, whatever you do to me can’t be worse...” he shrugged, as she lit up like a Christmas tree, biting down into his arm. He didn’t wince much, and the flesh felt burnt. Oh, someone had hurt her poor Izuku? She’d kill them for him! Make his pretty little face smile!!
She stepped back after taking a bite and licking some of the blood, becoming an exact replica of Izuku, shoeless and all.
“See? Look how cute I am now!” She? He? Izuku wasnt too sure which gender to mention Himiko, but nonetheless. His copy grinned manically, laughing and dancing around. Midoriya couldn’t help himself, he laughed quietly as her quirk dissolved leaving her staring in awe.
“You were cute anyways, to- Himiko, but your quirk is incredible! How long does it last? Does blood type have anything to do with the properties? How exact is the copy? Just physical?” He fired off questions, excited now.
“Izuku-Chan! I can’t possibly answer all those questions now! How about you come with me, come meet my friends and we’ll prove everyone wrong, okay?” She grinned, taking his hand and pulling him away. Stain and Dabi would love this guy! He was so smart a n d sweet!
“Wait, my shoes?” He looked at her, so confused. It was an adorable look on him, but they needed to hurry. There would be a janitor coming soon, and if they didnt want witnesses, itd be bad to leave a body or evidence.
“Oh, silly Izuku! We’re going to leave them there! The old You is dying now, so stop looking back!” She grinned, pulling a pair of shoes out of her bag.
“Here, use mine, you’ll look amazing in heels! Oh, and we’ll have to get you a new outfit, you have slime on you!”
At her words and genuine kindness, he smiled, following her into the dark hallway. Looking back on it, he doesn’t regret that choice. No matter what it might have caused....

Bakugou struggled against the villain with all his might, trying to cough as it forced itself into his body. No one was coming to help, no one could get there in time.

.
The last thing Bakugou saw before his eyes slipped closed was an emaciated old man groaning before becoming All Might.
He was still alive, but only just. That was the first time in his life he felt fear, real and pure running through his veins. Did Deku feel like that today? When Bakugou told him to kill himself? No, not even Deku would be stupid enough to die. Bakugou was supposed to prove himself better than all might, better than everyone! It was a hell of a lot more pointless without the one person who knew all of his progress.
