Chapter 1: Inko.

Chapter Text

It started with Inko.

She first noticed something was off when Shoto had called her freaking out in his own stoic way about deku not being able to keep any food down and refusing to go to the doctor.

So he hoped that his mother in law would be able to talk some sense into the omega.

Or atleast check in on him since he wouldn’t be home for another week, and he was worried when he called for their usual chat and deku couldn’t hide his retching from his husband.

Immediately alarms starting going off in her head. Her little ‘zuku rarely got sick even as a baby so she knew it was something serious.

she agreed to keep shouto updated and once she hung up she set to work. She grabbed a few supplies and left to go check on her baby.

By the time she had made it to the condo her baby and his husband stayed she had worked herself up.

Every single thing that could be wrong with izuku flashing through her mind, and it did nothing but make her anxiety flare.

She barely managed a thank you to the valet driver and the doorman before she was practically running to the elevator tears already gathered in her eyes.

Inko midoriya was a tough woman, she had been through alot and raised her only cub by herself.

So she had became very sensitive and protective of her proudest and most dear achievement, so it was hard to remember that he wasn’t her little boy anymore.

Now here he was living a very lavish lifestyle due to his and his husband pay as the number 1 and number 3 hero respectively.

But in instants like this, when she was needed, she knew that no matter how much bigger and stronger he got he’ll still always be that little boy who liked to curl up against her side and read the latest all might story.

She straightened up and wiped her tears when the elevator announced that she had made it to her destination.

She pulled out her key before she walked inside.

The older omega let the scent of pomegranate and peppermint wash over her, but she almost had to recoil when she could smell the underling hint of a sharp acidic smell permeate the air letting anybody who came in know that a distressed and sick omega needed tending too.

Inko toed her shoes off before letting the door close gently behind her and made her way to the bedroom calling out for her son.

“Zuku-kun? Shouto called me and told me that you haven’t been feeling very well and I brought you some homemade soup.”

“Ugh I told him it was just a common cold, mom i’m sorry you had came all this way for nothing.”

Inko heart sink when she heard the unusually raspy voice of her first born, he truly sounded miserable.

When she finally made it to the room and she saw him curled up in a oversize jacket, and his normal tanned skin looking pale and clammy, her heart practically broke.

She knew he was having a lonely week without shouto who was unfortunately away on hero business.

Their calls lately had consisted of him telling her how he had been feeling a little down because he had wanted to accompany his husband.

Logically he knew as the new symbol of peace he was needed in town in case anything happened, but it didn’t change how miserable he had felt.

The smell had increasingly gotten stronger the closer she got. Inko also noticed a new scent underlying the one she was used to, but she ignored it and hurried over to put her stuff down.

Once her hands were free she checked for a fever and was baffled when she didn’t find one.

Shrugging it off, she started fluttering around the room tidying and straightening the sheets asking izuku about his symptoms.

“Have you noticed any other symptoms other than not being able to hold food down Zuku-kun?”

"Certain smells seemed to trigger it. I smelled some fish at work today and felt like I would gag all over poor iida.” He admitted.

Izuku shrink back when his mother gave him a glare for hiding this from her but he quickly tried to fix it.

”But I feel fine most of the time! The sickness comes and goes and I thought maybe I been worrying myself sick.” He defended.

“Have you had any other aches or been feeling off?”

“I been getting a lot of headaches and my lower back aches sometimes.” Izuku sighed and he turned over to pull his all might plushie closer.

”Work hasn’t been easy lately so I didn’t think anything of It. I just didn’t want to worry you guys.”

Inko sighed before she leaned over her only child and gave him a kiss on the forehead and grabbed the chicken soup she brought to heat up.

“Alright honey just try to relax and I’ll get dinner started for you.”

In the kitchen she mulled over the new information she was given and tried to run through everything that could match those symptoms.

The flu? No Zuku had been up to date on his shots and she would know.

The  agency was very strict on their heroes to keep their immunization records flawless.

Putting the soup on the stove to heat up she starting going through the cabinets looking for a decent breakfast tray and tsked when she couldn’t find one.

She’ll have to give them the spare one she had.

Muttering to herself she slowly went through the list and realized the aversion to fish was what really stumping her.

It wasn’t a common symptom to anything she could think of.

“Well to be fair, izuku never liked fish a whole bunch growing up and I always thought it was because I ate so much when I was pregn-“ she muttered to herself.

And she froze when she realized why her child symptoms seemed so familiar, he was pregnant!

The aversion to food, on and off sickness, headaches and even lower back pain she had all those symptoms before she found out she had been three months pregnant!

It all made so much sense! The sadness and even the new faint scent she had smelled walking into the room, her baby was having a baby!

The omega could feel herself tearing up, she was going to be a grandmama!

But she quickly composed herself. Izuku probably didn’t even know himself whether he was carrying and she didn’t want to mention it in case she was wrong and she didn’t want to get any hopes up.

So she’ll just have to gently try and persuade him to see a doctor and the sooner the better.

After all, who knew the next time izuku would be sent to the field.

Smiling to herself she went back to fixing the tray and made a note to call Rei and explain her suspicions.

She was so excited!
