Chapter Text

Izuku groggily opened his eyes, humming quietly in content as he registered the weight of Shouto's arm draped loosely around his midsection. Shouto snored softly, more often than not letting out a deep breath instead of a quiet snore. Izuku turned his head to the side, smiling with a whipped expression as he watched his boyfriend's nose twitch in his sleep. It was a habit Izuku had learned Shouto had when they had started sharing a room, and it just made him fall further in love with the boy.

Eventually though, Izuku had to tear his eyes away from the sleeping form and quietly make his way over to the bathroom, making sure to tuck Shouto back in before heading over. He went through the motions, still tired and a little bleary-eyed from sleep. He splashed some water on his face to wake himself up a bit more before heading back over to the bed, smiling brightly in greeting when he saw Shouto awake and sitting up under the covers, a hand covering his yawning mouth. Shouto waved in reply, before holding out a hand and beckoning for Izuku to come back to bed. Izuku gave in, as it was a Saturday and they would just be going to the hot springs with Bakugou and Kirishima.

He crawled under the covers next to Shouto, his bare legs tangling with Shouto's as he was encased in pale, muscular arms. Izuku smiled, nuzzling his nose softly against Shouto's neck, making the dual-quirked boy hum.

Izuku looked up at his boyfriend, who was already staring down at him. "Good Morning, Shouto."

"Morning, Zuku." Shouto ran his hands through Izuku's wild bedhead. "Think you can let me get away with just staying in bed again?"

"Hmm...." Izuku giggled, making Shouto's chest tighten with fondness. "I dunno... What am I gonna do all day without you, Sho?"

"You're gonna stay here and cuddle with me," Shouto grumbled, Izuku laughing brightly at the response before kissing Shouto softly.

"Tempting, but I already told Kacchan that we'd go with him and Kirishima to the hot springs near here."

Todoroki groaned. "Alright, but you owe me cuddles, Izuku."

"Great!" Izuku grinned, already jumping out of bed much to Shouto's dismay. "You have ten minutes to get ready."

"What?!"

-

When they got to the hot springs Izuku was texting Bakugou, who was texting with faked anger in all caps. They grabbed some towels and stripped before standing next to one of the brown buildings and waiting for their friends to arrive. It took about five minutes before Izuku looked up from his phone, waving at a grinning Kirishima and a scowling Bakugou as they approached.

"Hey Midoriya! Hey Todoroki!" Kirishima waved in greeting. "You two should head on in! Bakugou and I'll be out in a few."

Kirishima grabbed Bakugou's hand, who glared at both of them as he passed in his own silent greeting. Shouto stuck up his middle finger in reply, making Izuku laugh as he grabbed his own boyfriend's hand and pulled him towards one of the steaming pools of water.

"They aren't going to be out for a while," Shouto stated obviously.

"Probably," Izuku smiled, climbing into one of the small pools with his boyfriend. "But that means you get me alone for a little bit."

"Izuku, I don't think this is a good place to-"

"No! I didn't mean it like that, Shouto," Izuku laughed, his cheeks tinged red.

Shouto flushed a deep red. "Oh. Well, in that case, you do owe me a day's worth of cuddles."

Izuku beamed, letting Shouto drag him through the water to the edge of the pool, where Shouto settled himself against the wall before pulling Izuku against him and hugging him into his chest, lightly drawing shapes on his back with a calloused finger.

"Love you, Sho."

"I love you too, Zuku..." Shouto trailed off, placing a feather light kiss onto his boyfriend's forehead. "Do you-"

"Ugh, you two are fucking disgusting," Bakugou interrupted, carrying a smiling Kirishima on his back. A smiling Kirishima who just happened to have two new hickeys on the left side of his neck. Kirishima had his hands wrapped around Bakugou's neck and was placing kisses along the pale column as Bakugou strode closer.

"Kacchan, you're literally giving Kirishima a piggy back ride while he kisses your neck right now," Izuku countered, grinning.

Bakugou scowled. "Whatever, nerd."

Shouto smirked, turning away as a low laugh squeezed itself out of his mouth. Izuku's heart melted. He didn't think he'd ever tire of the sound.

"Come on, Katsuki!" Kirishima urged loudly. "Let's get in with Midoriya and Todoroki."

"Be fucking patient," Bakugou growled, walking over to the small pool of water and throwing Kirishima in. Kirishima let out a small yelp before hitting the water, limbs flailing.

"Katsuki!" Kirishima scolded. Bakugou flashed a sharp grin his way before wading into the pool and aggressively throwing an arm around Kirishima's shoulders, glaring at us.

"Zuku, c'mere again," Shouto reached out with grabby hands, dragging Izuku back against the hard planes of his abdomen. Shouto buried his head into Izuku's damp hair.

"Awwwww," Kirishima cooed. "You guys are so cute."

"Kacchan and anyone who can get him to be soft for once win the cuteness contest by default," Izuku beamed, Shouto letting out a sleepy sigh above his head. Izuku bowed his head backwards and Shouto placed a short kiss on his lips.

"Damn right Shitty Hair and I win the cuteness contest," Bakugou growled, crouching down so that the warm water reached his shoulders. Kirishima was already doing the same.

-

They had hung out at the hot springs with Kirishima and Bakugou for what was probably too long, before they returned quietly back to the dorms, hoping not to get caught going out without permission and coming back after curfew. Kirishima and Bakugou ended up getting caught, as Bakugou has quite a tendency to be loud. Izuku and Shouto made their way back to Shouto's room safely, sighing in relief once they had finally closed his door. Izuku giggled in delight before tackling Shouto in a tight hug, both of them practically falling over since Shouto hadn't expected the sudden embrace.

Shouto wrapped his arms around Izuku in a loose hold, and Izuku reached up on his toes to give Shouto a kiss. Shouto smiled slightly against Izuku's lips, content and happy at the moment.

"See, wasn't that fun, Sho?" Izuku whispered quietly, neither of them wanting to ruin the moment.

Shouto hummed, another small smile gracing his lips. "It was... but nothing will ever be as fun as a day spent with you." Shouto said sincerely, concerned that he had done something wrong when Izuku suddenly pulled away and covered his face with his hands. "Izuku? Are you all right? Did I say something wrong? I'm-"

Izuku groaned. "No, you're perfect. That's one of the cutest things you've said to me yet and you're so serious about it that you don't even realize it. It makes me wanna... I don't know! It just... makes me want to be with you."

"But you are with me?" Shouto's eyebrows lowered.

"No, Shouto," Izuku laughed. "Not like that. It makes me think 'I'm gonna marry him one day' and- it just-" Izuku let out a strangled noise, hands still covering his flushed face.

"I-"

"Sorry if that's weird, Shout-"

"I think that sometimes too," Shouto blurted out, interrupting Izuku. His face was beginning to darken with a blush. "I think that whenever you tell me to do my best, or smile at my pitiful attempts at jokes, or when you force me to get out of bed to hang out with our friends, or when you made an effort to help me despite the fact that I didn't deserve it, or when you smile at me while we're training before we bruise and break each other. I- I feel it all the time too, Izuku."

There were tears trailing down Izuku's cheeks as he smiled at Shouto, his expression so full of love and wonder that Shouto felt his heart might literally burst. Izuku took Shouto's face in his hands and kissed him gently, neither of them applying more or less pressure. It was long and sweet, and when they broke away they didn't- couldn't let go of each other.

And then Izuku fell to his knees in front of Shouto. "Shouto, we've been together almost a year now, and I know that maybe this is too soon, but can- can you promise that some day, one day, we'll walk down that aisle together. I love you, Shouto, so much that it hurts."

Shouto felt a burning behind his eyes, the feeling you got right before you cried, and then a tear slipped down the sharp angles and slopes of his face.

"Yes." Shouto choked out. "Yes, I can promise you that. I can promise us that. I- I was never concerned with finding someone to love, I was so angry for so long, and then you came into my life. A messy-haired, determined boy with a habit of muttering and taking notes on his classmates. You taught me what it meant to feel true happiness again, and I can't ever thank you enough for that. I love you, Izuku, probably more than I should be allowed too."

Tears were streaming quickly down Izuku's face now. "I- I can't put what I'm feeling into words right now, but- I love you, Shouto Todoroki. I don't think I could ever stop loving you. Even if you did something so horrible it made me vomit, I'll always want to forgive you and love you until I can't anymore. I love you, and I'm never letting go."

Shouto smashed their mouths together in a kiss, tears streaming down both their faces. They stood standing there for a while, consumed with so much emotion that they couldn't let go of each other, and they couldn't move. They stood there for what felt like hours, just wading in the pool of love they had created. Eventually though, Shouto yawned, and Izuku coaxed him over to the couch, laying Shouto's head down in his lap. They didn't talk, didn't make a sound, but their hands were intertwined and Izuku's fingers were running through Shouto's dual-colored hair, the red and white strands mixing together.

Shouto looked up at Izuku, only to find the freckled boy already staring down at him with a loving gaze. Shouto stared back, both of them conveying through their eyes what they couldn't through words.

They would walk down that aisle together someday.
