Work Text:
“Young Master-nim?” Ron knocked lightly on the door to Cale’s room, a tray holding tea, and some snacks balanced carefully in one hand. Cale had been in there for hours, going over papers and conversing with the Crown Prince over video call, and it was long past time for him to take a break and rest. Of course, the butler knew that was unlikely the noble would choose to do that on his own. He’d heard that Cale held the desire to be a slacker one day, but quite frankly he didn’t think such a dream was fitting for his young master; the boy held far too great a need to help others to ever truly relax and do nothing.
Ron shook his head slightly at the thought of Cale’s compulsive need to save others, a small smile playing on his lips, it was a wonder the noble had managed to pretend to be trash for so long.
Though it had been almost a minute since Ron had knocked on the door to the room, there had been no response and so he opened the door slightly to peek in. Perhaps most butler’s wouldn’t have dared to intrude without permission, but Ron had no such issue; with Cale’s health issues it was better to be safe than sorry.
Any worries he had disappeared though upon seeing the sight within the room, Cale was slumped against the arm of the couch, fast asleep. On and Hong were both curled up in his arms, obviously fast asleep as well, and Raon had his head resting on Cale’s leg. Unlike the rest of the room’s occupants however, the dragon remained awake and as Ron stepped into the room, he raised his head and spoke into the butler's mind.
- Shhh, the human is sleeping
Ron smiled as he gently set down the tray, he had no plans to do anything that would wake Cale, his young master needed all the sleep he could get after all. With his hands now free, Ron was quick to grab a blanket and drape it over the noble he saw as a second son, it wouldn’t do for him to get cold.
“Make sure he eats when he wakes up,” Ron instructed Raon in a whisper, before heading towards the door. He’d check back in a while to see if his young master was in need of anything, but for now he’d leave Cale to his rest.
