Work Text:
Todoroki stood in his room wondering about who was whose secret love child. He was fairly sure that Shinsou was Aizawa's and Midoriya All Might's. After all, in his mind, those were pretty obvious. A new thought occurred in his mind. He had a suspicion that Hawks was somehow related to Tokoyami. Also, Todoroki wanted to know where Touya had gone. Dabi's quirk seemed identical to what Touya had, and the way Dabi had called him and his dad by their real names when they last met... No, he was not going to go there. It hurt too much. Touya would never be a villain.
“But is Death Arms Midoriya's uncle?” Todoroki thought. And then he heard a knock on his door.
"Todoroki-san? Can I come in?" Midoriya's voice came through the door. Todoroki then froze, wondering how to clean all of his occult tools in a matter of seconds.
"Wait a second," Todoroki said, putting all his notes in the drawer. After Todoroki finished hiding his notes he said, "Come in."
Midoriya came in the room, surprised that the room did not have a drawing board connecting him and All Might as he expected.
There were, in fact, multiple boards, but Midoriya didn't need to know that.
But Midoriya noticed some odd implements. Implements that wouldn't look too out of place in Tokoyami's room or in his own room, hidden very carefully anywhere a secret compartment could be hidden. For you see, Midoriya practised the occult as well. In fact, he was rather good at what he does.
"Todoroki-san?" Izuku asked sweetly and calmly. "Can I ask why you have a file on the Dragon hero?" He pointed to a file on Todoroki's desk.
“... No reason.” Todoroki replied.
"Also, is that a cloak on your hat stand? Come closer, lemme tell you a secret." Todoroki was confused but also intrigued by Midoriya's sudden interest in Todoroki's stuff. It was only natural for him to go closer to Midoriya.
"I saw your occult tools. I'm into the occult as well. So is Tokoyami."
"Bring Tokoyami here, then we'll talk," Todoroki said.
Midoriya pulled out his phone, a flip phone that has served him well since middle school, presses a button sequence to dial Tokoyami from speed dial, and turns on speakerphone.
"Tokoyami here. What is it?"
"Tokoyami! Do you think you can come over to Todoroki's room? He won't believe me about our hobby."
Meanwhile, Todoroki returned all his notes into place.
"Do you wish for me to bring my materials as well?"
"Give me ten minutes, and then I'll have what we need to praise our dark lord.
"Wait, what dark lord?" Todoroki asked, alarmed and a little bit scared, but also intrigued.
"You'll understand," Midoriya responds with a smile, ending the call. "We all did."
"Midoriya-san, I am afraid that you are scaring me." Todoroki deadpanned. Then again, Todoroki was always deadpanning.
Midoriya simply laughed and flipped his phone shut before putting it in his pocket.
After almost exactly ten minutes, they heard the padding of footsteps outside and a conversation between Dark Shadow and Tokoyami in depth. Midoriya opened the door.
"Greetings my friend. Shall we indoctrinate the newcomer together?" Tokoyami questioned.
"Isn't it supposed to be initiation and not indoctrination?" Todoroki pointed out.
"Tokoyami-san. It's great to see you. Yes, let us initiate the newcomer together. Show him what lies in the shadows." Midoriya ignored Todoroki and spoke to Tokoyami.
"No, because indoctrination is teaching someone to believe in something uncritically. And when we are through you will believe." Dark shadow replied to Todoroki.
"Once you've seen the truth, you'll be forced to confront it anyway. You already poke around in the shadows anyway. It's inevitable that you'll come across the truth. You might as well let us initiate you into the world in the shadows."
"I don't have any choice but to accept this do I?" Todoroki inquired.
"Nope." Tokoyami took out his tools and beckoned Midoriya to him.
"Shall we begin the ritual?" Midoriya asked.
"Indeed, we shall" Tokoyami replied.
"Good." Midoriya gave final confirmation that the ritual would start.
Meanwhile, Todoroki silently sent out a text to the Dekusquad, hoping that it would save him from his unfortunate fate.
Tokoyami started his chant in perfect unaccented Latin, a rarity even among Westerners, and practically unheard of among Japanese people.
Uraraka and Iida's phones buzzed with the message "Mido and Toko in my room. HELP"
Midoriya started to pitch in, somehow having the Latin down too, Uraraka looked down at her phone, correlated the words, and thought “Nope, not doing that.”
It was at this moment that Tokoyami's chant in perfect Latin and Midoriya's Japanese-accented chant reached a crescendo.
"This calls for extreme measures," Todoroki mumbled before entering Bakugou's number
"Who the hell is this?" Bakugou snapped.
"My room, now!" Todoroki said over the chanting.
"Fuck no, you dumbass bitch, I don't fucking care what the shit or who the shitty fuck is getting fucking murdered. I'm not fucking entering a fucking room with fucking shitty-ass fucking bullshit chanting! I'm not a fucking dumbass!" This tirade of curses was somehow said in 5 seconds and allowed for the chant to get to a damning part. Bakugou hung up in frustration, unaware of the chaos that was about to ensue.
“I’m fucked,” Todoroki thought as All for One appeared in the middle of the circle.
Midoriya, Todoroki and Tokoyami looked at each other in bewilderment. They knew they were probably going to summon something dangerous, but somehow, somehow, they had managed to summon the ghost of All for One. This wasn't what usually happened. Midoriya and Tokoyami usually summoned... something else but they were pretty distracted by Todoroki, and now, well…
"Never thought I'd get out of Tartarus in this fashion", All for One muttered to himself.
Tokoyami hadn't bothered to make a containment circle, he hadn't planned on this, but he still had something to hold over All for One's head. But then Midoriya decided that it would be a great idea to take All for One's soul and make AfO's memories and power his. He failed to take All for One's memories, but he did manage to take his Quirk. To his disappointment, Izuku seemed completely fine afterwards.
“Hello there, bitch.”
Midoriya turned around to face All for One. “Long time no see, huh, Ass for One?”
"Hmph. Never thought you'd be sassy."
Midoriya gave Bakugo a death glare and then winked. Bakugo was fucking confused and was frozen in place. Whatever that nerd had done, it probably had a good chance of being his death.
“Say, Ass for One, do you know how to play rock paper scissors?”
"Of course. Given you've managed to strip me of my power, I guess I'll oblige." Bakugou began sweating nervously, wondering if Izuku was planning to take his Quirk. Midoriya held his hand out in battle, a sly grin appearing on his freckled-face. Bakugou promptly fainted. Todoroki decided that it was the time and ran out of the room. Tokoyami, however, quite liked how distinctly dark things had gotten.
Bakugou regained consciousness about as quickly as he lost it, much to the surprise of both Tokoyami and Midoriya.
“Rock, paper, scissors SHOOT!”
It was at this point Iida took a quick look at his phone and decided to run towards Todoroki's room. He had no idea why Todoroki would send such a message, but it had to be serious.
Back at Todoroki's room, Izuku could hear the distant roar of Iida's engines.
"I... lost..." All for One was shocked. "Fuck me sideways to hell." Iida arrived shortly afterwards, ready to fight whatever the hell had been summoned. Bakugou, already on edge, promptly panicked.
“Ha! I got rock! Rock beats scissors!” One for All pulsed throughout Midoriya’s fist as he spoke. Iida quickly assessed the situation. Midoriya and All for One seemingly didn't notice he had arrived, and Bakugou was seemingly preparing to attack.
“Heads up, bitch.” A crash was heard as Midoriya’s fist made contact with All for one’s head. All for One promptly went flying through the wall.
“FUCK” Sirens could be heard in the distance. Izuku gave a sheepish grin to the crowd of three before him. All For One got sent flying out of a window and onto the ground at the entrance. Izuku took a quick look out of the hole All for One left in the wall, seeing several Heroes looking on in a mix of confusion and horror.
“.. I take a nap... for five minutes” Aizawa looked like he was on the verge of tears.
Endeavor took a quick look at the crime scene Izuku had accidentally made, then stormed off - he was going to have a lot of questions for his son.
All Might was scared out of his wits - it was bad enough that he burned out what remained of One for All in his body bringing him down, but from what he could tell Izuku was most likely dead by his hand. “Holy shit he fuckin dead” Midoriya looked upon the chaos he created. Bakugou made a mental note to keep his distance from Izuku in the future.
It was at this point that All Might showed up at the door. He breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Izuku alive and well, though All for One was left unaccounted for. Though at the height from which All for One fell from, All for One was most likely dead. He wasn't sure to be relieved that All for One was dead or frightened at the possibility Izuku had killed him. Iida was just standing there in shock. "Midoriya-kun, I didn't figure you were the type to do something like this."
Midoriya shrugged, clasping his hands together. “You know I had to do it to em, Iida-kun. Besides, I didn't realise All for One's Quirk was that strong."
"My sweet summer child... You even took his Quirk?"
Midoriya hummed in thought at Iida's question.
"How did you even pull that part off?" Iida had no idea summoning rituals even worked before that day, much less that you could get Quirks off the summoned entities.
"I'm not sure. At least the threat of All for One is gone for good." All Might and Iida sighed in relief simultaneously at Midoriya's remark. It wasn't quite what they expected when they got there, but at least something good came out of it.
Meanwhile, at the League of Villains:
Tomura scratched his neck vigorously as he picked up a card from the scattered pile in front of him. He was trying to play goldfish with Dabi and Toga yet he couldn't get any fucking pairs. It was infuriating. Dabi snickered behind his hand as he held about five different cards under the table, watching the chaos unfold as Tomura promptly lost his shit.
“So like... Where’s the faceless sack of meat?” Toga asked, ignoring the crusty man in front of her.
"Didn't you hear? Some UA brats pulled off some crazy occult summoning bullshit that looked like it came out of a horror B-movie and the end result was Sensei lying dead on their school grounds!" Mr Compress exclaimed.
Dabi paused. “... Fucking what?” The room fell completely silent.
"I mean... yeah, it just happened. Occults are crazy man," Twice laughed loudly, his more... uncaring side shining through.
"Fuck. My. Life." Shigaraki was prepared for the eventual death of Sensei, but he could never imagine this would be how Sensei died.
"You know the worst part? One of them literally yanked Sensei's quirk from him!" Kurogiri shouted.
"That can't be true." Spinner said.
"It is. The one who did it is, and I shit you not, All Might's successor!" Kurogiri replied.
"Wow, Midoriya really is a madman. I'm surprised UA even let him in." Magne butted in the conversation.
Meanwhile, in the UA staff room:
Aizawa was in his sleeping bag, trying despite everything just to get some sleep.
"Shouta, what the hell are you giving those kids to be able to summon and kill All for One?" screamed Hizashi. Aizawa sighed as he felt his chance to sleep slipping away like water through his fingers. Even so, he buried himself further in his sleeping bag and ignored the overgrown parakeet.
"... They have potential." is all the sleep-deprived caterpillar said before rolling over and ending the conversation. Hizashi wondered just what the Hell was going through Aizawa's head.
" Now I need a drink." All Might tried his very best to focus on his work, but he kept getting distracted by what had happened.
"Oh shut it, I had to deal with a conniving Nedzu and Midoriya many times before. That shit's something else so deal with it." Aizawa's muffled voice travelled to them from the couch. A minute later, soft snores could be heard echoing through the quiet room. Midnight had just finished an entire bottle of vodka and was passed out on her desk.
"I can't believe the summoning actually worked. The dorms are getting real wild now." Ectoplasm had mostly managed to stay out of it but was still shocked.
Meanwhile, back in the dorms:
"I still can't go into my room Midoriya," Todoroki complained in his usual deadpan. "It's still taped off. I can't continue working on my theories if I don't have access to them."
"Not my problem," Midoriya said.
"Compensate me by admitting to All Might being your father," the dual haired boy demanded, holding up his phone with the recording function on.
"He's not related to me, Todoroki! Stop telling everyone that he is!" Izuku replied with a groan, hands meeting his face with a smack.
"I know you're lying," Todoroki said.
"I swear to everything, I'm not related to All Might in any way, shape or form. God knows there were times where I could use a father in the past." came the muted reply.
"We've all been there," Todoroki agreed, putting the phone away. "If you won't testify, then do you know where Shinsou is? I have some Aizawa related questions for him."
Midoriya sighed and then pointed out the door. "He's usually training in Gym Delta at this time."
"Thanks All Might Jr," Todoroki said. A noise of pain filled the common room as Todoroki left, smirking.
When he found Aizawa slurping coffee out of a rather tall cup while watching Shinsou running laps around the gym, Todoroki began recording for... future reference in his writings.
The hairs on the back of his neck rose, but when Shinsou looked around, he didn't see anyone other than Aizawa watching him. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling someone else was watching him.
Meanwhile, Todoroki disguised himself as a bush inside a gym, but Shinso was too sleep-deprived to notice, as he usually was. Always was, really.
The next day, in class:
Midoriya hummed as he wrote in his notebook, pencilling another sigil down. He normally did this on the sides of his notes, but since he was ahead in class, he figured he could afford to just fill a notebook he dedicated to sigils with them. Tokoyami walked into the classroom and made a beeline for Midoriya. "I have acquired more tools, should they be of service to you. Shall we partake in the revelry within your own domain or mine haven?"
"How about your haven?" Midoriya replied.
"Tokoyami and Midoriya, are you seriously doing it again? It was only yesterday that you guys managed to summon and kill All for One and everyone's still talking about that." Iida had overheard the conversation and was less than pleased. Aizawa walked up to them. "Tokoyami-kun and Midoriya-kun, please see me during lunch period. I would like to hear from you about what happened last night."
Lunchtime, staff room:
Midoriya and Tokoyami walked up to the door of the staff room and knocked three times very dramatically. Aizawa opened the door. "Midoriya-kun, Tokoyami-kun. please come in and take a seat." Midoriya and Tokoyami sat down. "Firstly, why were you doing summoning rituals in Todoroki's room? I'd expect Tokoyami to be into that sort of thing, but I didn't know you were into that as well." Aizawa addressed Midoriya first.
"Ummm..."
"Problem Child, I know you and Nezu have a penchant for chaos, but this latest incident is a bit much, don't you think?"
"But isn't it good that we defeated a villain?"
"To be fair, it does show you have potential. This goes for you too, Tokoyami. I just wasn't expecting something like this to happen." Aizawa sighed. It was so, SO hard not to just break down into tears then and there because of the sheer fucking madladdery this child was committing. "Anyways, if you’re caught doing this again, you’ll be expelled. I don't care what weird rituals you do in your own rooms and private spaces, just don't drag other innocent students into this again, okay?"
The three collectively nodded. “You’re dismissed. Go for lunch.” Aizawa eyed the bottle of vodka in the corner of the room. Maybe Midnight wouldn't mind if he borrowed some.
