Work Text:
Yukinoshita Yukino looked at the boy on the bed. The boy who was there because of her.
This was her fifth visit to see the boy hit by her family limousine, and he was still not conscious, despite it having been two weeks already.
As dark thoughts filled her mind, Yukino didn’t notice the door opening.
“…Oh, Yukinoshita-san, didn’t expect to see you here again.” An elderly man in the doctor’s white uniform exclaimed.
“Dr. Shimoda!” the girl startled, “Am I interrupting your work? Do you need me to leave the room?””
Dr. Shimoda was about to reply, but then sighed and shook his head. “No, Yukinoshita-san. You can stay… I shouldn’t be saying it, but you visit here often, his parents only did once, so maybe it is your place to know. Hikigaya-kun’s body is mostly healed, but his head injury is a different matter. He still doesn’t respond to any attempts to rouse him, stuck in a coma. I fear no treatment will help him now, unless he wakes up and regains consciousness by himself.
“Dr.? Are you saying that…”
Ï fear that it is possible that Hikigaya-kun may not wake up…”
“…”
“…You should go home now, Yukinoshita-san, it is getting late and your parents would be worried.”
Both knew it was a lie, but Yukino felt her strength abandoning her at the news, and nodded. Still that sentence plagued her, felt like an execution upon the boy, whose name she still didn’t know.
After arriving home, the dark thoughts got worse, her apartment feeling oppressive, as the idea that she essentially killed the boy entered her thoughts unwanted, like a burglar.
Internet info on coma patients only left her more depressed, as recovery chances were insufficient, and more statistical probability than anything else-not to mention that even if he recovers, the boy may have… permanent ‘damage’… Yukino felt something wet sliding on her cheeks. She touched the wetness.
“…tears?”
It was with a burdened mind, that Yukino prayed to any kami that would listen, for a miracle. To save the boy…
“I can do that.” A woman suddenly spoke.
Looking around in alarm, Yukino spotted no intruder in her home. She went to the door, and it was close, the same condition she left it-same for the windows. “I’m not in physically your home now.” The woman said. Still Yukinoshita checked under her bed, inside her closet, behind curtains and any other place she could think of, just to make sure, but found no intruder.
“Rude! I came to help you, and this is how you treat me?!”
“I doubt I am in need of snoops and spies.” She declared coldly. Wishing the unwanted invader would leave her.
“But you are in need of a miracle, aren’t you? Poor Hikigaya-kun may never wake up…”
“Who are you?” Yukino was enraged, and wanted to crush the interloper mocking her pain.
“You prayed for the gods to answer, did you not? Well, I just did…”
“Who are you?”
“I am Lilith, A Goddess that can make the miracle and save the boy you were agonizing over.”
Yukino remembered what she learned during the time she was sent to study abroad in America, in one of their most distinguished schools, and what she learned of their religion. “Isn’t Lilith a demon in Christian mythology?”
“Hey, that was a REALLY bad PR from my enemies!”
“In the myth, you were turned into a demon for refusing to submit to Adam, the First Man…and the reason God later made a woman from his rib…”
“I wasn’t turned into a demon! I ascended into godhood, and that was slander! Adam threw a hissy fit when I wanted to be on top, and later did his best to spread nasty rumors and ruin my reputation! It was all sunshine and roses when he was the one on top, but when I want to try and dominate him a bit, suddenly I'm a bitch and evil and unnatural-I mean, if animals did it then it means it's natural right?! the Giraffes and the monkeys did nothing wrong!”
“And I assume there are conditions for receiving that help? A price tag on the would be miracle?”
“Unfortunately, Adam did so well with his smear campaign, that I’m very weak now. Have been for some time. I need your help to even have the strength to save him.
Yukinoshita frowned in thought. What little she heard about demon worshiping involved sacrificing cats to their dark gods- proving without a doubt that they were the most depraved and despicable of people to exist. She would have no part in such abomination and would deny any devil to whom such heresy may be dedicated!
“Hey, hey, calm down, no cats are going to be involved! I promise! This is part of those slanderous rumors Adam was spreading for all those millennia!”
“What is it that you require, then?” Yukino demanded, her anger dimming.
“I need to restore faith in me! I need a high priestess that would be my Avatar in the mortal world!
Yukino hesitated.
“No sacrifices will be involved, of Cats or otherwise! In fact, Cats can be made a Sacred animal, to be honored by all my faithful!”
Yukino wavered.
“Cat familiars were rather common for some of my priests once, and the Familiar Bond would let you understand your cat Familiar, link you supernaturally in a way that would make you closer than any cat and cat owner!”
Yukino broke.
“I accept your deal to become your high priestess, in exchange for a miracle to Hikigaya-kun, restoration of cats to their proper place as a Sacred Animal and the secrets of Cat communication by way of Familiars.”
“Pact completed!”
For a moment, nothing happened, and then the lights wavered, and blinked out.
When the darkness receded, Yukinoshita Yukino found herself in a grand room of obsidian, lit by bright orange lava flowing in channels to the sides, and great braziers lit in front, illuminating the already brightly lit court, and the stairs up leading to a throne, upon which was seated a red skinned woman with cloven hooves and horns coming out of her black haired head. Big, leathery wings were folded behind her like a cloak While a spaded tail was leisurely waving to her side. To complete the imagery of a succubus, the demonic looking goddess was wearing a black leather corset that emphasized the chest it covered, and what looked like black leather panties- the ensemble making her think of a dominatrix for some reason...
There was no way Yukino wasn’t intimidated by what resembled the Christian definition of Hell, or ignorant that the woman was a perfect match for the Christian depiction of a demon. And there was no way she would let any of it show.
“You know, I wasn’t lying when I said I was a Goddess, and not a Demon. Lilith, Goddess of Fire, passion and femininity, at your service-or more accurately, you are at mine!”
“Passion?” Yukino didn’t squeak at all, asking in a dignified manner-and if you say differently then you need your eyes checked.
“Yes, and you, Yukinoshita Yukino, are my High Priestess! So You will reflect it as well.”
Suddenly, without warning, it all became dark again, and When the light returned, Yukino found herself in her Apartment again. She felt tired all of a sudden, and went to bed soon after, falling asleep as soon as her head reached the pillow.
A hellish sound brought Yukino out of oblivion.
“Hello? What?!”
“Yukinoshita-san! It’s a miracle! Hikigaya-kun just woke up!”
“I told you I can help you! Though it took quite the effort, the boy is healed from the damage inflicted, and now that I fulfilled my part of our pact, it is time for you to start with yours, my High Priestess!” the voice of that deity, Lilith sounded in her head
Yukino briefly wondered, how she would go about, starting her work as a high priestess of a kami of fire femininity and passion…
“Start with Passion!” the kami exclaimed. “Fire will require advanced stuff you’re not ready for, and femininity always ended up with angry men wielding torches and pitchforks! Passion, on the other hand, was always a good choice- AND the most fun one!”
The Yukinoshita could feel herself blushing. Still, she did make the pact and it would be irresponsible to refuse to do her obligation, and the boy whose fate she smashed with a car was restored- but more importantly, talking cats!
“This is going to be such fun! Now, this is how you properly start, so that it will actually help me and won’t end up as a only debauchery…”
The Kami started instructing her High Priestess on the proper way to invoke her domain of Passion, and the Girl grew redder and redder, as she tried to focus on these lessons with the same intensity she did for her schoolwork.
The return to consciousness of Hikigaya Hachiman was followed by much attention from the doctors, interested in the case study of him defeating the odds and waking from a coma that by all accounts he should have still been in, and his adorable little sister. It wasn’t surprising that his parents didn’t visit while he was under observation, but his mom finding the time to pick him up right away when he was eventually discharged- was.
Not that he could see what that was about, as when he returned home, and was hugged tightly by his sister, his parents seemed to return to the routine of living at their workplace. The boy also gained a new ‘acquaintance’, a voice in his head that he blamed on the head injury. That said voice claimed to be a kami called Lilith, offered unwelcome advice, only cemented that Hachiman should never speak of it to anyone- The last thing he wanted is to be considered crazy and taken to a room with a straightjacket as his new uniform.
When Hachiman returned to school, the annoying voice that appeared in his head ever since he miraculously woke up from his coma seemed excited for some reason.
Well, at least it wasn’t disparaging his thoughts and complaining about his essay like it did before. Now it was his homeroom Teacher, Hiratsuka who was doing it. No, the voice was too busy offering commentary on his Sensei’s appearance and how suitable she was- no, not thinking of it.
“Anything you want to say Hikigaya-kun?” Too late.
Predictably, the meeting finished in violence. Also predictably, it ended with his defeat. Now Unpredictable was that he ended as a club member for some “Service Club” whom Sensei was dragging him to right away- While the voice in his head talked about maids and butlers then turned into-
Thankfully they arrived before his brain, or hindbrain could follow this new tangent. When he entered- or rather was pushed into the room, and saw the girl sitting quietly reading a book, giving the impression she would have been continuing reading it, undisturbed, even if the world was ending. Yukinoshita Yukino was outstanding, appearance wise, with the allure of a high class beauty, and had the intellect to match according to her test scores as bragged by Hiratsuka-sensei. Hachiman couldn’t help but stare.
And then she ruined that beautiful moment by opening her mouth and talking. The first things she said to him were insults, aimed at him, as expected.
Hiratsuka-sensei dumped him there without any explanations, and left, as he tried to glare the rude girl to death.
...What was this ‘Service Club’ about? It certainly wasn’t about maids, Lilith!
What was he meant to do with that beautiful lady?
The voice in his head, promptly, joyfully started giving suggestions. And most inappropriate suggestions at that.
“It's great to see you two are already familiar with each other! It will make the next part easier.” The voice said again.
To his surprise, Yukinoshita replied to what until now he thought to be a delusion of his. “What next part?”
“With him as the one who was saved by my miracle, is it not fitting that he be my, and your, first acolyte, Oh High Priestess of mine?” The word ‘acolyte’ dripped with so much innuendo, it seemed to sound immoral.
Yukinoshita had no visible rebuke to offer, merely blushing silently. “Yes, I insist on that.” The voice replied, taking part in a conversation he only heard half of.
Yukinoshita sighed, and then turned to him, and with a determined face, and a cold, cool gaze, announced: “Hikigaya-san, as I am now a Priestess to a Kami of lechery, I need your Hentai material so I know what I need to study. It is in no way invitation for any lechery. Please don’t misunderstand.” It was amazing that the girl could say something so outrageous with her normal cold no-nonsense tone of voice and not waver at all, even if her face was now tomato red.
“Oh, no, it wouldn't do to have my high priestess to be a flustered Virgin, even if one was well-schooled in the theoretical part! Noo, you go and practice with that boy until you get some experience."
