Love Equals You

Summary:

Gulf is Mew's secretary who, apparently, lives at the same place as his boss. Why? You already know the reason. Moving on, Gulf does his work as he should but there will always be that one person who hates him with all their guts. What's new though? Ever since he grew close to Mew, everyone started talking about him as if he's just a topic in their building. Are they jealous? Mad? Irritated? He doesn't really know. All he knows is that Mild, his best friend, is his shoulder to cry on whenever he gets bullied. But with all the bullying, he wondered. Should he tell Mew? Should he finally reveal their relationship to everyone? They're all sus of them, after all.

Chapter 1: Love and work plus... jealousy?

Chapter Text

It was one fine Friday afternoon when Mew held the last meeting of the month. He was busy discussing what they should do for the following month when he noticed Gulf was typing something on his laptop, looking so frustrated. He cleared his throat to catch his attention but Gulf didn’t listen. It’s like he’s inside a world of his own. “Mr. Kanawut.” He called again, but Gulf just hissed. “Mr. Kanawut!” He yelled. “Hm?” He answered calmly as if he wasn’t busy with his laptop.

“I asked you what you were doing. You were busy on your laptop for the whole meeting.” Mew crossed his arms and crossed his legs, waiting for an answer. Why is he not paying attention? The younger straightened his posture and exhaled. “You told me to finish this activity today. I asked you if I could excuse myself from this meeting but you declined and told me to finish it while listening, or did you forget?”

Gulf tried his best not to sound a little sassy because he knows that he’s gonna be the center of attention again and he doesn’t want that. Only he can talk to Mew like this. Whenever others attempt to, they’ll get fired or suspended. Biased? Maybe. “But don’t worry, Sir. I’m also taking notes if that’s what concerns you.” He added and gave Mew a sweet smile and a few blinks. Mew tried not to stare and fall for his smile but it’s goddamn hard. “Sir?” “What?” “I’m done with the report.” Krist said and bowed, putting his report to an end.

“Okay, So…” Mew stood up. “I would like to remind you all of a few things. Next month we’ll be having a…” Gulf didn’t quite understand the rest of the discussion as he was busy finishing his work. “...and everyone shall submit their progress report this month to Mr. Kanawut before this day ends, understood?” And he heard a chorus of ‘yes sir’. “Wait… me?” Gulf pointed at himself. “Yes, Mr. Kanawut. Do you have a problem with that?” Mew cocked a brow and sat on his swivel chair. Gulf just frowned and shook his head.

“I don’t but… I have things to finish, too. I might submit it… you know… late.” He said sheepishly. Mew just nodded and played with his pen, spinning it and twirling it between his fingers as he said the last reminders to his employees. Oh god… not his fingers. I have a soft spot for them… Gulf bit his tongue and tried to avoid Mew’s gaze. Lord, please give me the strength to finish this activity and not give in to Mew’s godly figure.

“You and I practically live in the same place, Gulf. You can submit it when we get home.” Mew’s lips thinned as he observed the other employees’ reactions when he mentioned the words, ‘same place’. “O-okay…” Gulf nodded and looked down, a little flushed about what just happened. Mew smirked and chuckled at the younger’s reaction. He’s still embarrassed. He stood up and dismissed the meeting, letting them all return to their desks to finish their work.

“Did you hear what Sir Suppasit said? He and Gulf live in the same house. Does that mean he’s sleeping with him?” Gulf heard Lee ask his friend, Bright. He paid them no attention because it’s their business but the response from Bright had his blood boiling. How dare they? “He’s a gold digger, isn’t that obvious? He immediately got the position of secretary because he seduced Sir Suppasit. I’m pretty sure Gulf is just Sir Suppasit’s sex toy.” Bright chuckled and they laughed.

Gulf tried his best not to shed a single tear because fuck that hurts. It’s not that he believes in what Bright said but… them looking at him as their boss’ sex toy? That shit hurts. Imagine your colleagues looking at you like you’re just a disgusting whore your boss plays with whenever he’s in heat? He shook his thoughts off and continued to focus on work. He wouldn’t let these thoughts get the better of him.

He was busy doing his paperwork when he suddenly felt sleepy. I’m gonna continue this later. Maybe take a 15-minute nap? Mew wouldn’t get mad, right? He just shrugged things off and took a short nap. I just have to make sure when I wake up, I could finish these. He was sleeping silently so other employees didn’t want to disturb him. They all placed their folders beside him, careful not to wake him up, but one employee had enough.

Bright slammed his folder on Gulf’s shoulder, waking the younger up from his nap. “What the—” “What? You’re gonna cuss at me? You’re literally sleeping at work.” Bright crossed his arms and looked down on Gulf. Gulf rubbed his eyes and tried to open them. “What do you want?” He asked Bright. The latter hissed and rolled his eyes. Is he serious right now? “You’re sleeping at work. Didn’t Sir Suppasit tell us not to—”

“I know what Mew said. I just took a short nap because one, I did ALL of your work last night. It’s yours and Lee’s work but you didn’t finish it on time so Mew had me work on it. Two, can’t I take a rest, too ? Look, if you’re mad at me, just say so. Don’t use work as your excuse for your jealousy.” Gulf couldn’t control his anger. He knows Bright madly in love with Mew but… Mew chose Gulf. He wanted to show Bright that, sorry but Mew’s mine but nope, he can’t.

Gulf scoffed at Bright, irritated. He doesn’t even know how hard I worked last night yet he’s being a bitch. “Oh, now you’re calling him Mew? So you’re on a first-name basis now? Are you that close to him?” Okay, Bright’s getting on my nerves. Stop me before I slap the shit out of him. “You ask him. Now, if you don’t have something good to say, get out of my sight because I’m sleepy.” Gulf simply said and went back to sleep. Bright was about to slap him again but Krist stopped him. “Stop. Gulf’s still Sir Suppasit’s secretary. Show a little respect for now then you can deal with him next time.” He whispered. Bright grunted in disappointment and just left Gulf.

Little did the three know, Mew was watching them. He was smiling because he’s so proud of Gulf for standing up for himself. He usually goes home feeling empty and when Mew asks what happened, he’ll simply say “It’s the three again.” and Mew already knows who and what he’s talking about. I guess he had enough? I dunno. He walked towards Gulf and shook him awake.

“Love.” He whispered. To his surprise, Gulf shouted at him. “What?!” Gulf frowned. The employees were shocked because no one ever had the guts to shout at Mew. Only Gulf. Gulf didn’t even say sorry. He was irritated as fuck. When will they stop waking me up? I am freaking sleepy, okay? Stop disturbing me! Mew chuckled at the younger and ruffled his hair. “You okay? Why were you sleeping? Didn’t I tell you not to sleep at work?” He pretended to scold Gulf but the latter knows it. So it wouldn’t seem unfair for the other employees.

“Shut up. If you didn’t give me too much work I would’ve been playing Free Fire right now.” Gulf rolled his eyes and frowned again. “Stop frowning.” Mew tsked. He hates it when Gulf frowns. Yes he looks cute but the feeling’s negative so nope. “Aish. Leave me alone and lemme go back to sleep.” Gulf whined and fixed the folders on his desk. Mew chuckled and gave Gulf a quick kiss on the head before leaving.

Gulf continued his nap for a few minutes and decided to submit all reports to Mew. When he entered the office, Mew spread his arms and asked Gulf to come closer. He wants a hug. Gulf rolled his eyes and placed all reports on Mew’s desk before sitting on his lap. “I love you.” Mew looked straight into Gulf’s eyes and blinked slowly. He’s dreamy. Gulf’s irritation suddenly disappeared like a bubble and he gave his fiancée a quick peck. “I love you.” He responded.

He buried his head on Mew’s neck and inhaled his scent. Damn, sandalwood. My favorite. He smiled and peppered Mew with kisses. Mew laughed and held Gulf’s waist, so the younger retreated and looked into his fiancée’s eyes. They speak love. Eternal love and they’re only for me. For me and me alone. He smiled. “Are you done with your works?” He stood up and fixed himself. “Almost.”

Mew faced his desktop and typed in a few keys before facing Gulf. “You can continue your nap on the sofa, you know?” Mew knew Gulf wanted to go home. He can tell by looking at him. 6 years of being together and 2 years of being engaged made Mew read his partner easily. “Hm. Okay.” Mew smiled and gave Gulf a flying kiss. Gulf giggled and accepted it. He then walked towards the sofa and threw his head back, covering his eyes with his arm and resting.

Mew thought the position was uncomfortable for Gulf so he saved the files he was typing on his docs and transferred them to his laptop. He turned the desktop off and took his laptop and folders before sitting beside Gulf. “What’re you doing?” Gulf asked. The latter shrugged and tapped his shoulder, telling Gulf to lean on him. Gulf didn’t have the strength to decline so he leaned on Mew’s shoulder, closing his eyes. “Wake me up when you’re done, okay?” He yawned. Mew hummed and continued his business.

“Sir Suppasit? The employees already went home. Is it okay if I go now?” Mild, the director, asked. Mew looked at him and looked at his fiancée. “You can go now. I’ll just finish this and I’ll go home, too.” Mew answered. Mild saw Gulf sleeping soundly beside Mew, arms wrapped around his torso, so he wanted to ask about the two but he didn’t wanna pry. Mew noticed the look on Mild’s face as he eyes his fiancée and Mew got the message immediately. “If you’re wondering, yes, we’re dating. He’s my fiancée.”

Mild blinked, shocked. He knew what I was thinking? Or did I look that obvious? “Uh… o-okay. I’m so sorry, Sir.” Mild apologized and bowed in embarrassment. Mew chuckled and shook his head. “You don’t have to apologize. You all have been pretty much curious about mine and Gulf’s status, so here I am, confirming it. But don’t tell the others yet. I want Gulf to be the one to announce.” He spoke. “Uh… hehe. Noted, Sir. Goodnight.” Mild said sheepishly before leaving. “Goodnight.” , said Mew.

In just 30 minutes, Mew finished his work so he slowly moved Gulf, careful not to wake him up, and fixed his things. He took his bag and carried Gulf before heading to the parking lot. There he saw Mild waiting for, his ride I guess? “Oh, Sir. Do you need help?” Mild offered. Mew nodded and gestured on his car door, telling Mild to take the keys and open it for him. Mild nodded and did what Mew had told him to do.

“Sir, I don’t wanna be that one snitch in every class that tells every secret but I just wanted to tell you about Gulf. He’s my best friend but he kept your relationship from me, to which I’m a little sad, but it’s okay, I respect it. But… uh… my point is, Bright and his friends… they’ve been bullying Gulf ever since he got super close to you. They suspected him of seducing you in order to get the position of secretary and to even get the chance to sleep with you—” Mew choked at the last three words. “Wait… what’s wrong with sleeping with me?” He laughed.

“None, Sir—” “Call me Mew. You’re Gulf’s best friend so outside of work, we’re friends too.” Mew smiled. Mild gulped and nodded. He’s still afraid of Mew, okay? Don’t blame him. Mew looks freaking intimidating. “Um… so as I was saying, Bright, you know, likes you. So he’s being a bitch whenever he sees Gulf with you because he’s jealous. He’s jealous to the point that… he even threatened Gulf.” Threatened? Gulf never told me about that.

“I’m guessing by the look on your face that Gulf had never told you about it. I suggest you talk to him before it gets worse.” Mild smiled at Mew. Mew then looked at Gulf, who was sleeping soundly inside his car and sighed. “I guess this was my fault. He never wanted to be boyfriends at first because he doesn’t want the attention to be on him. He said that what we feel was enough. We don’t need a label but I wanted to so… yeah. Anyways, please look after him. I couldn’t be there for him all the time because I’m also busy but… you know what I mean, right?”

“I get you. Don’t worry, I always look after that babie.” Mild giggled. A car then pulled over to where they were standing so their conversation got interrupted. “Good evening, Mr. Suppasit.” Boat, Mild’s husband, greeted as he exited his car. Mew smiled and said, “You can call me Mew. Anyway, I should get going, too. Mild, thanks for the talk. Thank you for always looking after my fiancée.” “No problem. Have a safe drive, Mew.” Mild said before getting inside their car.

Mew drove home and carried Gulf to their room. He laid him down on their bed before taking off Gulf’s shoes. I’m pretty used to doing this so it's no biggie. The younger hummed and stirred in his sleep, snoring slightly. Up until now, Mew’s still amused by Gulf’s snore. He removed Gulf’s shoes and socks before placing a cooling agent on Gulf’s feet. He knows how much his fiance loves these menthol agents. Gulf hummed and tried to pull his feet back but Mew held his ankles, stopping him. “Stop. It’s ticklish.” He whined in his sleep. After a few struggles, the latter gave up. He was too sleepy to even resist. “Just sleep. I’ll take care of you.” Mew whispered.

After applying the menthol, he then slipped Gulf’s otter socks to keep the menthol inside. He loves his otter socks. Then he showered to hopefully lighten his body because fuck he feels tired. While showering, he couldn’t help but think about his and Mild’s conversation earlier. What if Gulf was actually forced into this relationship? That he didn’t want to be in it but I forced him? Does that make me a bad boyfriend or fiancée? But we’ve been dating for almost 8 years now. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard the bathroom door open. Must be Gulf.

The younger opened the door and rubbed his sleepy eyes, yawning. He then saw his fiancée, naked in all of his glory, in the shower room. He’s turned on, not gonna lie, but nah uh he’s too sleepy. “You okay love? What do you want?” Mew asked. The younger shook his head and mumbled, “Need to pee.” Mew laughed and rinsed himself while Gulf pees. They’re too comfortable with each other that they could do this, yes. Domestic. While Mew was drying his hair, a sleepy Gulf appeared behind him and hugged his wet rock hard body. “Love, I’m still wet.” Mew tried to wake Gulf up but he didn’t move. “I wuv you bubb.” He mumbled.

“Oh god, what am I gonna do with you…” Mew sighed and kissed the younger’s head as he wrapped himself with his towel. Then he carried Gulf to their bed, tucking him in. He’s not as heavy as the weights I lift so it’s easy to carry him. Mew lied beside him and played with his hair, admiring him. The dim lights and the shine coming from the midnight sun add more beauty to his ever so gorgeous fiancée. “I’m sorry for forcing you into this relationship. I just… I just couldn’t wait any longer and I wanted to make you mine. I’m really sorry… from now on I’ll let you do whatever you want. I love you, sunflower. So much.” Mew kissed his forehead before drifting off to sleep.

Did Gulf hear it? Yes, he did. When he felt that his fiancée’s in deep sleep, he opened his eyes and smiled. “Nobody forced me, sunshine. I said yes because I wanted to and I love you. At first, I didn't want to because I’m worried about your image. I’m worried that they might start talking about how the richest CEO of Thailand is said to be dating a mere commoner like me.” Gulf sighed. “I just have to be confident and show you that I love you, don’t I? Don’t worry, I won’t ever hide us again. I love you.” He whispered before hugging Mew, squeezing in between Mew’s arms. Maybe tomorrow, I’ll explain everything. Even the words I left unsaid. No more secrets. No more hiding.
