The reasons are many, but for the sake of the most simplified simplest simplicity let us say that the main reason was brutal culture shock and disillusionment plagiarism.
Last time I just deleted a work, I got yelled at and then persistently harassed for months, and I'd like to avoid that in the future.
Hence, this.
If, for instance, you're an old buddy crawling out of hibernation and my stuff was in your bookmarks and you'd like to reread, all you have to do is contact me directly. Without yelling and otherwise behaving like an entitled douchebag, please.
Whichever year or month it is now, go ahead and do that; art doesn't have expiration dates.
Either leave a comment or follow the link to my half-deaded blog after reading this message to the end, and you will easily find my contacts and the masterlist on top.
Hit me up. Unless I myself am very deaded, I'll answer asap and send you a private link to docs.

This is also how I share most of my new stories now.
Only directly, only after making sure I am talking to another human being acting in good faith (as opposed to a troll or a zombie).
Disclaimer: everything I write is 100% FREE and I hate capitalism so much, you can't even remotely imagine am not after monetizing my creativity.
This is not a matter of monetization.
Quite the opposite; this is a matter of ‘I do not want my internal organs to be gobbled up like alienated products.’
A couple more important points (if I sound angry: sorry, by now I'm mostly just exhausted...and angry, ba-dum tsss):
- Please do not exchange the downloaded file(s) behind my back. That's REPOSTING. Reposting actually IS against the rules everywhere. Not to mention, plain unethical and crappy behavior.
- If you want/need the file, just contact me and ask me to send it to you, so there’d be some personal accountability on your part. This takes only a few minutes. Or simply move on.
- If something was shared with you for free, doesn't mean that it now belongs to you. Yes, even if it's fanfiction, although that's not the case with FatS.
- ‘Free’ does not equal ‘public domain’, and my writing is my intellectual property.
- In other—more human—words:
- Art is not ‘content’. I am not a ‘content creator’.
- My stories are not detached commodities that sprung out of nowhere. My stories are a part of me; made of my grief and my love, and my hard work too.
- My stories and I are inseparable. Do not commodify me. I will not stand for it.
