Work Text:

“Do it again.” The voice was commanding, leaving no room for discussion. Sweat was forming on his forehead, his trouser’s fabric sticking to his skin. The overtunics were long gone after hours of lightsaber training on one of the few spare days at the temple in between battles. Anakin was feeling worn out, his muscles torn from the past weeks fighting on some swamp planet where sometimes he’d felt like buckets of water had hit him from above and below simultaneously. Obi-Wan had decided it was time to spend some time sparring in the temple training halls for once, dragging his former apprentice with him. Now they had repeated kata after kata for hours and Anakin was close to losing his patience as Obi-Wan commanded him to begin again.

"Why are you doing this!?" Anakin asked angrily, lowered his lightsaber and glowered exhausted at his master.

Obi-Wan stopped, raised an eyebrow and contemplated for a moment before answering. "What exactly?"

There wasn't an easy answer to that. He'd meant today's training in the first place but now that Anakin started to think about it more deeply he noticed this might be the moment to sort things out on another, deeper level. Every time he had tried to speak to Obi-Wan about whatever it was that had begun to transpire between them for the past weeks, there had been things coming in the way, someone shooting at them, throwing a thermal detonator, calling for emergency meetings or just storming in and interrupting whatever conversation they were about to have. This might be the moment!, Anakin thought to himself, took a deep breath and watched the other man closely. Now that he had the chance to finally gain some much needed clarity, fear began to crawl up his spine. Fear of being rejected, fear that this thing with Obi-Wan would just suddenly stop and disappear.

"Anakin?" The older man was pushing for an answer now, slowly stepping closer and Anakin couldn't help but wish for any kind of touch, an embrace, anything at all that made him feel the connection he so desperately needed at the moment.

He sighed, lowering his gaze. "Why are you doing these things to me…? Why do you keep touching me?" The words came trembling and felt strange and wrong on his lips but he couldn't find any better words to bring across what was going on inside his head.

Obi-Wan shrugged. "Do you want me to stop?"

The answer wasn't what Anakin was expecting at all. Was he being serious? “No!”, he exclaimed forcefully. Obi-Wan was standing so close now their chests were nearly touching when Anakin inhaled deeply. He’d never before felt that insecure in the other man’s presence. “It’s just… I don’t understand what this is supposed to mean.”

The Jedi master raised his fingers to gently brush Anakin’s cheek, a sad smile playing on his lips. “Since Geonosis there’s not much left in this galaxy that makes sense. Most things have lost their meaning. The Force was thrown off balance and keeps shifting to total chaos with every day we fight in this war. Do you feel it?”

The sickening sadness of Obi-Wan’s words hit Anakin in his stomach. “Yes, master.”, he whispered, leaning in to the touch. “But what’s that to do with… us?”

A soft, tender, loving kiss was pressed on his lips. “Everything. Qui-Gon died believing you were the Chosen One, the one to bring back balance to the Force. I want to believe he was right, so all I can do is help you keep your balance. If you feel lost, I’m here to hold you. If you’re angry, I’m gonna help you let it go. If you’re afraid, I will be by your side to fight whatever enemy stands in our way. Whatever you need, I will try to give to you.”

The words rang in Anakin’s ears, making him shudder and feel as if his legs wouldn’t carry him any more. But just as Obi-Wan had said, he was there ready to hold him, took him in a forceful embrace and the younger man let go for just a moment, trying to grasp the meaning of what his master had just said. He licked his lips absentmindedly, taking in the taste of the other’s lips on his, the gentle scent of fresh wood and summer breeze that was so typical for Obi-Wan when the dirt and blood of endless battle was gone for once. An old pain began to resurface as he processed the truth behind the words.
“It all comes down to this kriffin’ prophecy in the end then. I was brought here for that, stayed because of it, been taken in by you because of someone believing crazy shit about a messiah supposed to save the world…” Anakin sounded bitter and hurt and for a moment thought about pushing Obi-Wan away. Finally, he thought better of it. In the end it was he who needed the other’s closeness most desperately. “Now you’re giving me this… whatever it is, just to fulfill a promise you gave? Or because of duty? Stop it then, I don’t want that.” He was beginning to feel angrier by the second, the dragon inside starting to leash out again, searching for something, anything to destroy. A low growl escaped his throat and he involuntarily took a step back, weapon still at hand.

Obi-Wan raised his hands in defence, as if to sooth Anakin’s temper as he had done many times during his apprenticeship. His eyes looked hurt and sad, as if he’d lost something he still longed for. “That’s not what I said. I’m doing this because I want to.”

Had Anakin been in any better mood he might have seen or felt the other man’s desperation. Now he was only hearing what the angry dragon inside his heart wanted to hear. “So it’s pity and fun now, is it!?” He hadn’t even registered the lightsaber in his hand being ignited, the low hum of energy centering him somehow, giving him a purpose and meaning and something to hold on to. Anakin wasn’t sure what he planned to do now, all he wanted was for Obi-Wan to feel his pain.

“What were you expecting, Anakin?” Obi-Wan asked, his voice gentle and somehow full of sadness, remorse maybe? “Did you expect me to confess my love to you and tell you we’d live happily ever after? That’s not going to happen, we’re fighting a war, the republic and everything it’s been built upon is on the edge of collapse. All we can do is keep going and that we will do!”

This one hurt, more than Anakin would have expected. He didn’t want to hear any more of this, wanted it all to stop and just return to the blissful not-knowing he had suffered from before he had decided to ask.

Before he knew what he was doing, his body turned to combat mode, something it was used to doing for months now. Just before his lightsaber hit Obi-Wan head on, the Jedi master had somehow summoned his weapon, ready to defend himself.

The blow wasn’t meant to kill, the impact shook their bodies anyway and would probably leave a numb pain in their muscles for days. Instead of backing off and trying to come to his senses, Anakin let himself get lost in the feeling of pain and anger betrayal Obi-Wan’s words had left in him. Blow after blow started to rain down on the master, each one more powerful than the one before.
None of them would break the flawless defence.

A frustrated growl left Anakin’s chest, the anger growing and growing until it threatened to consume him head to toe. And it wasn’t getting any better at seeing how Obi-Wan didn’t seem to even break a sweat but just escaped most of the attacks, letting them hit thin air or being deflected to nothingness.

“Stop it.” Obi-Wan said calmly after a few minutes, lowering his blade.

“Make me!” Anakin answered breathlessly and when he started his next attack Obi-Wan was swirling around, bringing the blue blade upwards in a swift stroke to hit the other’s flank and did just that. But only for a few agonizingly long seconds of disbelief did Anakin stop while he waited for the burning pain the lightsaber had left to settle. With the sabers being set on training mode the injury wasn’t lethal at all but left a visible burning mark nonetheless that would have to be treated later on with some bacta at least.

“Fuck!” Anakin hissed out loud only to continue with the next attack, taking the searing pain to power his strikes once more. He didn’t even think about stopping. He’d only just begun.
There seemed to be a line crossed now, for Obi-Wan had finally stopped being all defensive and met every attack with a counter attack that was nowhere as powerful as Anakin’s but all the more accurate. It took no more than a few minutes for Anakin to be covered in painful burns across his chest, back and arms but he didn’t care at all and didn’t even try to defend himself properly. The wounds would leave no scars but at least made him feel anything else than the bleeding whole Obi-Wan’s words had left in his heart.

“For Force’s sake, Anakin, stop it already!” Even though the words sounded pleading, his voice did not, his gaze hard, icy, like durasteel, not letting on what was going on inside his head.
Anakin held his chin high, not about to give in. “I’m still waiting for you to make me.” And started the next attack soon followed by more burns on his skin. The taller man was starting to give up any conscious decision, only reacting, letting the pain and anger control his every move.

Then suddenly something changed.

The Force shifted around them, Obi-Wan’s moves becoming more expansive, his strategy changed to open offensive attacks that soon started to force Anakin back step by step. The knight wasn’t used to falling behind in sparring, realisation dawned on him that he might lose this battle eventually. But he wouldn’t just give up, not like this.

Only when he felt the wall behind him, the force giving him a subtle warning before his back was pressed against the cold wall, did he begin to accept his defeat. Obi-Wan stood in front of him panting, lightsabers buzzing, the blue glow highlighting both of their faces, heat radiating.

“Are you done?” Obi-Wan’s hot breath hit Anakin’s face in high contrast to the cold of the air around them and the wall behind him. His hands were trembling, nearly shaking after hours of fighting, the hilt of his lightsaber barely held up against the pressing of Obi-Wan’s weapon. As if on cue both men shut off their sabers, suddenly sinking against each other.

One of Obi-Wan’s hands, still holding his weapon, held himself upright against the wall, the other one settled around Anakin’s throat. The feeling was familiar now but never ceased to show its effect on the younger man. As soon as he felt the fingers curl around his neck, the raging dragon started to back off, growling, screaming, but not able to fight back anymore. But it wasn’t the same now as it had been for the past weeks. Obi-Wan’s words still echoed in his mind, the truth finally sinking in. It left nothing but emptiness.

“I need you…” Anakin sobbed silently, the sound came strangled. He yearned for nothing more than Obi-Wan’s touch, skin on skin, lips on lips. “I love you…” His voice broke, only partly because of the exhaustion that started to consume his body.

“I know.” Obi-Wan whispered, barely audible, then closed the distance between them and met Anakin in a passionate kiss that left no room for interpretation.

Their lips moved against each other, tongues colliding and fighting while Obi-Wan’s hand tightened and took all that was left of Anakin’s anger and willpower. Small gasps and moans escaped the knight’s lips, then finally quieted along with the fighting dragon inside as the lack of oxygen took all his senses and left nothing but the feeling of Obi-Wan on and around him.

In a desperate attempt to get closer, Anakin began grinding his hips against the other man. He let his lightsaber fall nonchalantly on the floor to have his hands free to pull Obi-Wan closer. The hot skin made the burns sting again and sent bolts of lighting straight down to his cock. Never before had he been feeling as out of control and safe at the same time.

But whatever Obi-Wan might have said earlier, the feeling of his obvious arousal against Anakin’s was enough to let the younger man forget those words at least for tonight. Instead he began moving against his master, trying to add more friction while his field of view began to darken gradually. Just moments before he felt himself lose consciousness, Obi-Wan loosened his grip just enough for Anakin to take one deep breath followed by a deep, feral moan that echoed from the walls of the otherwise empty halls.

Obi-Wan answered Anakin’s desperate moves grinding against him, then let his other hand make his lightsaber follow the other weapon to the ground and began to trail downwards. He grasped Anakin’s hair, pulled his head backwards and lowered his teeth to the sensitive skin right under his earlobe. A trail of kisses and bites followed and Anakin remembered the images he’d shown to his master some days ago at another boring council meeting.

Anakin gasped surprised when Obi-Wan suddenly let his tongue slide down a particularly heavy burn on his chest. The resulting sensation was somewhere between pain and arousal and let him bury his fingernails deep in the other’s soft skin, scratching, trying to get a hold and not just slide down that wall to the ground. He felt skin break and wetness on his fingertips.

“‘M sorry…” Anakin mumbled and didn’t really mean it. He just didn’t want Obi-Wan to stop whatever it was he was doing.

“You’re not.” Obi-Wan looked up from where he was caressing the torn skin on Anakin’s chest. There was humor in his eyes, but also longing and something that just now seemed to have broken free from somewhere inside of him. Only then did Anakin notice how much distance there was between them again, so he lifted his hands and pulled the other closer again.

Instead of continuing his explorations, Obi-Wan lifted Anakin’s flesh hand and inspected the deep red blood on the fingertips. His lips opened, his tongue started cleaning his own blood from the other’s fingers, one by one. Anakin’s eyes fell close at the sensation, groaning low with want and need as Obi-Wan kept on his work and first took one finger in his mouth, then a second and third, softly sucking and licking. He only stopped when all traces of blood were long gone and steered Anakin’s hand downwards, letting it rest just above his own waistband.

“Touch yourself.” Obi-Wan’s voice was commanding, leaving no room for Anakin to argue. Not that he would have wanted to, anyway, and thus he complied. He let his fingers vanish under the thin fabric of his pants, letting his own fingers stroke his length, just as he had done back in the lonely years of his apprenticeship, eliciting a needy whimper.

Before he could even think about asking Obi-Wan to take his hand’s place on his cock, he felt fingers pressing his mouth open, penetrating and exploring. He didn’t need to think twice and started caressing and sucking the fingers with his tongue, nibbling and biting. It wasn’t long before the fingers disappeared again and he felt Obi-Wan turn him around to face the wall.

“Keep going.” Obi-Wan instructed hoarsely. He let his hand trail down Anakin’s back, all the while taking care to sink his nails in every one of the fresh burns. Anakin was quite sure it was intentional and definitely meant as punishment for his earlier misbehaviour but he couldn’t care less.

When long, skilled fingers traveled down the cleft of his ass and started playing around his entrance, Anakin wasn't sure he liked what he felt. There had never been anyone who had touched him like this before, but then again he hadn't really known that choking and pain would get him off like that for long now and decided to just let Obi-Wan do whatever he wanted to. He wasn’t in any condition to object, anyway.

An involuntary whine escaped his lips when Obi-Wan’s finger slid inside, the sensation unfamiliar but not unpleasant at all. Anakin’s fingers stopped, his metal hand trying unsuccessfully to grasp the hard wall for balance as he felt his knees give in. One last time the dragon tried to leash out and convince Anakin to stop what they were doing. It screamed of anger and frustration, of disappointment and made him doubt his own sanity at letting Obi-Wan touch him at all after what he’d confessed earlier.

He doesn’t love you… the dragon hissed, the words were like a stab to his heart. But right at that moment Obi-Wan decided to add another finger to join the first, pushing gently inside, probing and searching. The sensation made all other thoughts in Anakin’s head disappear and replaced them with nothing but wonderful bliss when the fingers crooked slightly to find that sweet spot deep inside of him.

Hot pleasure shot through his veins and made his fingers clasp around his cock involuntarily. He felt Obi-Wan’s free hand rest on his throat again, pressing firmly and taking all conscious thought from his mind. All of this was too much for his strained body, he pushed back against Obi-Wan’s body, desperate for more and found his release finally when Obi-Wan pressed his whole weight against him, pinning him to the wall and sinking his teeth in the skin of his shoulder.

The dragon was silenced for the night.
But it’s cage had suffered heavy damage, long cracks leaving it open for the beast to escape eventually...
