Chapter Text

“Lost one,” Thresh whispered, circling around you. “Let us sit.” He smiled with a devious glimmer in his eye. He trailed his nails on the skin of your arm, the tension between you unmistakeable. The low hum of a chuckle, playful and lustful, tickled your ears and prickled your skin. Thresh stopped behind you and gestured towards the edge of the bed you faced, his other hand still caressing exposed skin.

“Thresh, before we go on, I have something for you,” the spirit petal was hidden in your pocket. You sat down on the bed facing him, and ran a palm down his chest before longingly resting it on his hip. Behind his flustered skin, he looked intrigued.

“What is it?” He asked, kneeling down in front of you. His hands rested on your thighs.

You reached for the petal and held it in front of Thresh.

He laughed joyfully, taking it. “This warms my old spirit, truly.” His smile rested beneath rosy cheeks as he meekly whispered, “Perhaps I was the lost one, this whole time…” He held the petal between his fingers and admired it with a hopeful look which quickly returned to you.

Your eyes met in a skipped heartbeat. Thresh smiled subtly and he mirrored your lustful gaze as you circled your arms around his neck and caressed his soft hair. In this embrace, his expression became crestfallen.

“Damned be life,” he murmured, “for it is what lies between us.”

Such a bittersweet goodbye, this is. A mortal has no place in the arms of eternity - not yet, at least. Only in death will you be together again, but now the few moments you shared seemed both infinite and brief. “We all die, eventually.”

“And when you do, I will be here waiting.” Thresh replied, and a peck found its way on your cheek as he tore away from you; his chiseled figure stood tall.

You also stood up and breathed out his name, and he refused to look at you. Worried, you reached for his cheek. “What’s wrong?”

His eyes pierced yours with an overwhelming sadness. His hand joined atop yours with a brush of a thumb. His silence was concerning.

“We don’t have much time left.” You reminded him, and caressed his shoulder.

“It pains me to imagine myself without you, lost one.” The way he looked at you sent a sharp pain through your chest. Still, he continued, “But I understand.”

You gently hugged him, “The little we have I will spend with you until we meet again. A lifetime is a short wait for an eternity with you.” Your hand ran down his torso and you teased him with a kiss. He held you close.

“Very well.” He said, pushing you back gently on the bed, resting a knee next to your hip. “Allow me to repay your kindness, then.”

You leaned back and pulled at his collar with a smirk, “What do you have in mind?”

“Close your eyes,” Thresh smiled at your obedience. The smell of clean linen that matched the sheets swiped through the air before he lingered above. Your hands found themselves around him again. He was unbelievably real and alive, a faint pulse beat beneath his sharp jawline. His skin was ethereal in touch, its scent reminiscent of white tea. “You may open them now, if you wish.”

He was bare above you, snowy pale skin draped by hair black as the night sky. Thresh had beautiful eyes: pupils blown wide with a bold amethyst iris.

“You’re beautiful,” you whispered and his fervent kiss cut your words off.

His arms wrapped tightly around you and his tongue met yours, hungry to stay connected, desperate to consume. His sharp nails dug into the back of your head, his other hand beneath your hips to trap you with his own body.

Thresh delightfully whined in protest as you broke his kiss, but gasped as you gently pulled his head aside by one of his crescent horns to kiss his neck. Endorsements came in the shape of hips grinding and his weight pressing onto you harder and harder.

This was insufferable - you were still clothed. You took away your hands to take off your garments, but Thresh read your mind. He readily pulled you on top of him, hands desperate to unveil your skin. You soaked in the view beneath you - the dishevelled spirit was a sight to behold, furrowed brows and flustered skin, slightly panting and impatient. He chuckled as you admired him, and devilishly grinned with confidence. Thresh waited for you to finish undressing and he mirrored your admiration, brushing the back of his palm down your body, and teasingly ran a finger on the hem of your lingerie to pull at it.

“Indulge my impatience,” he chuckled and yanked you towards him the moment you were fully undressed. His skin felt comfortably warm against yours, soft and silky just like his lips. Thresh deepened the kiss and ran a palm down to your ass, edging your hips towards his. He hummed a moan at the way your slit felt against him, and you cupped his jaw to capture his features in a memory, lovingly caressing his burning cheek.

You looked at him while gently teasing the tip of his length against you, holding him down in a tease, denying him this simple want.

Thresh arched his back into you and hissed, nails digging into you painfully. His body was coiled and waiting, tense with lust. “I asked nicely,” he whispered with a smile before he effortlessly dragged you under him.

You chuckled as his hair fell on your face, but you brushed it away and your eyes met as you wrapped his legs around him. How hard your pulse was beneath him, bursting out of your skin; your heavy breath intensified this overwhelming feeling of infatuation. “Please, I want you,” you whispered, holding Thresh close.

And with another kiss that mimicked his movements, he slowly sunk into you. He buried his head in the crook of your neck, eagerly licking and kissing tender spots he found, low moans faintly vibrating from him as he moved above.

Your hands dug into his skin, bringing him closer and closer until your hips were joined completely and in that moment, life felt so far away. The only thing that mattered was Thresh, and you wanted nothing than to have him like this eternally. “I love you,” you whispered with a hopeful heart and wild pulse, caging Thresh tightly in your arms.

He rose above just slightly and chuckled in relief with a nervous smile on his lips. “Say it again,” he asked.

    “I love you.”

“And again.” His rhythm was slow but shaky.

    “I love you, Thresh.”

His intense blush was endearing, but not as much as the little laugh that followed. He held an innocent but proud smile, “That is… the first time someone told me that.”

“You deserve it,” you replied breathlessly beneath him as he buried himself deep. “And I - I mean it,” you moaned between words. His rhythm dropped to something even slower yet still intense. There was a brief quietness between you, filled with sighs and whimpers.

Thresh took your hands in his and pinned you down, resting his forehead on yours and whispering, “And I love you too, lost one,” before he intensified his rhythm again, becoming increasingly erratic as your vocal moans edged him towards madness.

You looked at him - he was visibly concentrated - parted lips and eyes squeezed shut in pleasure, brows furrowed beneath his dishevelled hair. You slipped a hand away to reach out for his face and caress it, running a thumb on his lips. He leaned into your touch with a simper before looking back at you with an intense gaze. In it, there was eternity.

His pale skin fizzled to a burning fuchsia, his hair turned alabaster in a glimpse, slightly iridescent in the moonlight. There was fire within him and it immolated his human-like appearance in a display of honesty. His white glowing eyes sought something within yours.

“I like this,” you said. “In fact-”

Despite the clear change in appearance, his demeanor did not suffer the same. He was still drinking in your words, still kissing you lovingly, still holding your hips close to his.

    “I prefer it.”

“Oh hush,” he shyly exhaled and bit your ear. He became more rough, then, in his actions - his kisses turned to bites, and a subtle desperation seeped in every claw down your back and every thrust. He smothered you with his body, frantically holding you close and tearing at your skin in search of pleasure.

Lost in a cloud of lust, lingering touches, countless kisses and licks, he kept going on and on, tirelessly chipping away at your needs or wants while withholding his own. His hands pulled, held, caressed, and his eyes and lips both praised you in turns. With hungry touches, he made you his. With whispered nothings, he promised you the infinite. You surrendered your body to him, and the essence of your soul yearned for his care.

“Thresh, don’t stop-” you whimpered as he thrusted deep and hard, breaths synchronized and tangled between groans and desperate pleas. Your mewls turned to cries, rough and loud, with one hand he toyed with a breast or pulled at your neck to kiss it mercilessly, his other busy holding your leg, pulling you deeper and deeper as blood rushed to your temples. Your body felt like a knot, intangible and indiscernible, unbearably taught and ablaze beneath your too-tight skin.

    Then, nothing.

Muscles weak and trembling, you clawed at his back as your body arched against his in complete bliss. His gentle chuckle covered your lips before he withdrew himself from you with a smug look on his face. Weakly panting under him, your heavy breaths held reality with frail reigns. Scrambling for the present, you rested a hand over his chest. He was also having a hard time breathing, head lowered next to yours. Thresh was silent.

It took but a faint touch to make him ache for more. A gentle palm rested against his hip, caressing it as your tongues sweetly met each other. He allowed himself the fickle pleasure of a deep kiss as he let out a breathy moan, before he wordlessly demanded you to have him again.

This time, you took Thresh by surprise as your kisses turned to lazy licks down his chest then lower on his hips. His fingers caught a fistful of hair and held onto it strongly, pulling in delight the moment you tasted yourself on his cock. Your tongue worked in tandem with your mouth to bring out the most delightful sounds out of him, trembling beneath you and breathing heavily; his head was thrown back and his legs were tense - as was his whole body.

“I beg you, have mercy.” He jokingly protested with a breathy chuckle and a moan.

“Mhm,” you hummed with a mouthful, and a curse left his lips. His legs curled and hips bucked impatiently. You avoided them gracefully and stopped your endeavor.

Thresh was in no mood for games anymore, teased and flustered as he was; he roughly pulled you up into a rough french kiss - teeth clicked and hips collided in his rush. “Take me.” He said somberly, and it sounded like a demand rather than a plea. His expression was impassable as you studied him. Roughly, his hands held onto you and his grasp was strong, etched into your skin. “Lost one,” he hissed, “I won't ask again.”

“And how would you like it?” You coyly smiled, holding his length and positioning your hips just right; your playful gaze met his and he smirked in reply.

Thresh impatiently bucked upwards, drawing a yelp of pleasure from you. “Just like that.” He whispered and caught you in his arms as he thrusted deeper this time, holding you tight against him. His restless erratic hips sought a rhythm in this desperate craving, hands seeking to scratch and hold onto your frail human skin, digging and groping every inch he could.

Your head rested in the crook of his neck, his breath loud and erotic in your ear, intensified and contrasted by a soft kiss behind his ear, raised by a bite on the lobe. Each whisper of his name increased his pace until both of you were a sweaty, tangled mess. Both of your arms wrapped lazily around each other until nothing could tear you apart.

“Scream for me,” he groaned, pace hard and intense. With a deeper and stronger thrust, he received what he asked. Again, and again, until he lost all reason against restraint. His voice cracked under a sharp breath.

His neck was bare beneath you, marked by you and with veins pulsing wildly, revealed by each contortion of his; he seemed lost and taken by the night, indulging selfishly and shamelessly with you. Then, his clenched teeth parted in a deep sigh as he came, revealing small fangs and a sharp tongue when he licked his lips; his eyes squeezed shut and his shapely brows furrowed upwards in ecstasy. His hands left you and fell limp next to his head, taking them away from your skin as if it burned. With a trembling palm, he wiped his forehead, brushed away his hair and exhaled deeply as he slowly returned to his senses. Thresh sweetly beamed to himself and hid his face in his palms.

You stumbled next to him, nestled in the glow of his lantern which hung by the bed, and kissed his cheek. “Thresh,” you whispered with a plea. “I must go.”

    “Stay,” he replied mindlessly. “Please.”

“You know I can’t…” you pressed your lips together, and with a heavy heart you looked at him. He pulled you in an embrace and you closed your eyes, clinging to him tightly; you caressed his hair and kissed his jaw.

“Then find your way back soon,” he said tenderly.

You were tired, feeling as if you were on the verge of sleep. In his arms, you slowly fell unconscious.

“Wake up,” a whisper came to you, and you woke at the base of a tree. The festival lights created an aura over the village and the stars dimmed under it.

With a bittersweet taste in your mouth, you got up from this evening nap. What a cruel dream, this must have been - to know a spirit in ways that are unknowable. A love so intense it was unspeakable. Thresh, his name was. Perhaps he really existed.
