Broken Bond

Summary:

Jump Zero was not simply just for biotics, but biotically gifted Omegas who were sent to train there for the good of the Alliance. Kaidan Alenko was hand picked to take on an assignment of helping a traumatized alpha who had been through hell on Akuze, unfortunately his body decided that it was the perfect time for him to go into an early heat - consequences be damned...

Notes:

Would you believe this story was supposed to be less than 3k words ._. Yeah, I kind of got carried away and honestly could have kept writing but I had to stop it somewhere. Sigh...

So this story is set well before the ME series. Basically its the first time MShep meets Kaidan. They're the same age (18) because I didn't feel comfortable writing them any younger. I cannot stress enough that this is a Mpreg. A male character will be getting pregnant, granted, it wasn't supposed to turn out like this but the plot bunnies wanted some knocked up Kaidan. So here we are. Please heed the warnings!

Warnings!
*This story is in an Omegaverse = A/B/O
*MPREG
*Swearing
*Heats and hormones being a bitch
*Default Male-Shepard because I need more of him in my life
*Unbeta'd - all mistakes are mine. Sorry, I am not a good writer. Just doing this for fun
*Abortion is mentioned but not followed through
*Illusive Man is an asshole but so is Vyrnnus

Chapter Text

Kaidan Alenko was nervous. This was not exactly what he thought his first ever mission in the Alliance forces would be. Each step he took inside the large facility became more hesitant as his senses were attacked by a mixture of pheromones. The sudden urge to drop to the floor and expose his neck in utter submission was becoming harder to ignore.

He gulped. It wasn’t like he volunteered for the assignment. No; good, old brain camp, where their purpose was to train biotic omegas, put him forward for such a task. There was no doubt in his mind that it had been Commander Vyrnnus to put his name forward, the two of them holding a mutual hatred for one another, and the Turian disliked every human but more so Kaidan.

So, it came as no surprise that with the Alliance lacking in Omegas, they turned to Jump Zero – completely ignoring the fact that it was filled with young, coming to terms with their secondary sex, teenagers. Not only did they have their biotics to try and control but their biological function as well.

Omegas were often described as the weaker sex of humanity, and in a lot of ways they were, but the Alliance learned to use them to their advantage. A tough, well trained omega could use its natural scents to aid in battle, keeping Alphas and Betas alike in check, they were useful in most situations…again, only if they were well trained.

And Kaidan was not shy in admitting that out of all the students in his year at brain camp, he was the one struggling the most with his Omega status, in a way it wasn’t his fault, his family had always told him he would be a strong, thoroughbred Alpha. Making it very difficult to adjust to the fact that, nope, he was in fact the lower ranking of all three sub-sexes.

He exceled with his biotic abilities, even Vyrnnus acknowledged that, but whenever it came to the pheromone training – to make an Omega build up a tolerance to an Alphas scent so they could continue to produce their own without being made to submit – well, he failed multiple times.

Kaidan remembered when he first arrived at Jump Zero, looking around at people the same age, if not younger than he was, all of them looking terrified at the fact that this was the place they would now call home until the Alliance deemed them resilient enough to leave.

That was when Vyrnnus arrived in the great hall carrying the smallest glass jar that Kaidan had ever seen, seemingly empty, he watched them all, a smirk taking over his face as he popped the cork to the bottle and suddenly, they were all down on their hands and knees. Whimpering. Begging. Some even crying.

Alpha pheromones were no joke.

Within a split second they all submitted to the scent in the air. Their newly acquired senses forcing their body into submission. It had been a degrading experience. One that was sadly repeated as the Turian Commander simply loved to show them how weak they were to their biology.

It was only humans that dealt with the Alpha, Beta, Omega hierarchy, but Vyrnnus enjoyed wearing Alpha pheromones and walking around like he was the biggest, angriest biotic in Jump Zero. No wonder he was the most feared teacher there.

What he wouldn’t give to do a biotically charged jump kick to that tutor’s face…

“You are the omega they sent?”

Kaidan blinked up in surprise, not realising he zoned out with his thoughts, now finding that he had made it to the facilities reception. He was also shocked to find that it was a Salarian rapidly tapping away at a keyboard that addressed him.

A small nametag allowed him to know that the aliens name was Mordin Solus. He seemed young, very hyperactive, but from what he'd learned about the Salarian’s that was kind of their thing.

“Um, yeah…” Kaidan had to clear his throat to find his voice. “I’m Kaidan Alenko, they, ugh, they sent me from Jump Zero.”

The smell of Alphas coming from the back of the place was really making the biotic struggle to pretend that he wasn’t currently having to fight every fibre in his body to not crawl away from the place.

Mordin blinked slowly up at him. “Kaidan Alenko. Unmated. Not been through first heat cycle yet. Virgin. No previous missions. No experience with actual alphas. Potential later in life, high. Success of this encounter, low. Young. Too young. Mere pup. Send back and request a new, more qualified Omega.”

He returned to his typing.

Kaidan stood there, shell-shocked, not entirely sure if he had been addressed or simply talked about as if he wasn’t even there, but felt a blush creep up his neck at how nonchalantly the Salarian had spoken.

A sudden thought struck him. If he returned to brain camp without having even attempted to complete the mission that he had been sent out to do then Vyrnnus would have a field day. He didn’t think he could deal with that even though he wanted to agree with Solus and run far away.

“I’m the best Omega that Jump Zero have to offer right now. The Alliance is stretched pretty thin,” Kaidan wasn’t sure if he should be telling the Salarian that much information but figured he would already know if he worked in the facility. So-what if the first part was also a lie.

His best friend, Rahna, was the top omega of their group. She had tried repeatedly, to no avail, to get Vyrnnus to send her instead once they found out what the mission brief was, which held very little detail, and Kaidan had been way too nervous to read through it properly once he heard he was the one chosen for the task.

A distressed Alpha…or something along those lines. Faced a highly traumatic situation and they needed an Omega to go in and calm him down.

It seemed simple enough. Ignoring the fact that Kaidan slightly hyperventilated at the fact that he was the one who had to try and help. So many thoughts of what could go wrong rapidly spammed through his head.

Would the Alpha hurt him? Force him to submit? Try and knot him without a heat or consent? There were so many rumours of how brutal the stronger sex could be to the weaker one.

There was a reason Omegas needed so much training to withstand an Alpha.

You’re the best they have to offer?” Mordin eyed him curiously and Kaidan tried not to take it as an insult. “Hm. Very well. Intrigued how this will turn out. Hopefully, Omega won’t die in the process. This way.”

And suddenly Kaidan was regretting his decision.

Mordin moved fast through the facility for Alphas, to the point that the biotic struggled to keep up, doing his best to continue the fight with his biology to not drop down into a crawl at all the new scents.

That was when a locked door was opened, and the first wave of powerful Alpha pheromones hit Kaidan like a ton of bricks, he soon realised that the hall they were walking down had a multitude of older-looking Alpha’s behind glass. Like prison cells. For their own protection, Mordin told him quickly, unphased by the smells that made the humans knees threaten to buckle.

Omega…” One chimed in a sickeningly sweet sing-song voice as they all took in a whiff of the young male.

Soon all the Alpha’s were at the glass separating them from the pair who walked through, banging on it, some even throwing their full weight into it as they yelled for Kaidan’s attention.

“Such a pretty little omega all by itself…”

“Bet you’ve never been knotted, have you?”

“You’d look amazing around my dick.”

“Come here, bitch!”

“Knot-slave.”

The biotic was beyond relieved when they escaped the hallway and Mordin sealed the doors once more, the air seemingly clearing itself of Alpha pheromones, making the omega’s shoulders sag in relief.

“The alpha is in there,” Mordin nodded to a singular door as they made their way over. “Best to keep the traumatised ones away from the aggressive ones. Both are highly unpredictable. Either could turn at any moment.”

Kaidan couldn’t help but notice Mordin’s fingers twitching closer to the gun attached at his hip as he scanned the lock on the door to open it, once it was green, he motioned for the Omega to go through.

Entering the room cautiously, Kaidan stopped himself from breathing in fear the scent would be overwhelming, the entire place was dark. And what little light there was from the outside world disappeared when the door closed, making him jump and spin around, brown orbs wide as he saw a familiar red light.

He had been locked in.

The biotic sucked in a hasty breath, only to regret it as his entire system was met with a very distressed smell of an Alpha, he had to force a hand over his mouth to stop himself from whimpering.

Putrid flesh; Anger, regret, pain, and fear.

What the hell could have happened to an Alpha to make him smell like that? He didn’t think it was possible to have such a harsh scent attack his senses.

Kaidan didn’t realise he was shaking. His own body mimicking the distress of the unknown Alpha.

No. He was not going to let the stench overpower him. Omegas could be useful. This was his time to be useful. Whoever this Alpha was, they needed him to be strong, not succumb.

Breathe. Just breathe. Kaidan reminded himself as he took control of his own scent. It was no longer falling victim to the troubled odour. Sweet citrus filled the air, calm, relaxing, attentive.

Once the room was flooded with his own scent, Kaidan couldn’t help but feel proud of himself at the decrease in Alpha pheromones, maybe it wasn’t as difficult as he first thought.

The lights further in the room abruptly flickered on, making Kaidan come to the daunting realisation that they were motion sensitive, and he had not moved an inch from the door which could only mean that whoever else was in there with him had -

A hand gripped the front of his throat, pulling him away, his back being slammed against a cold, harsh metal table.

Kaidan’s fingers twisted around the Alpha’s arm that was tightly keeping him pinned down, his biotics flaring, sparks of blue threatening to do damage if he wasn’t released. Yet he had no chance to use them as blue eyes glared down at him.

Stop.” The small order was given through a growl, and he could see a glimpse of Alpha fangs being exposed, grip tightening.

And unexpectedly Kaidan’s biotics seemingly just switched off. No matter how hard he tried to use them he couldn’t. Making him panic, fingernails digging into the flesh that held him captive, body thrashing as the hold grew stronger. He was only vaguely aware of his citrus scent turning a little too sour.

The Alpha growled again. “Stop fighting me, Omega.”

Just like that Kaidan’s body went totally still. He was willing himself to move but simply couldn’t, and what was worse, that strong hand remained firmly around his throat.

The Alpha leaned in, nose rubbing slightly against Kaidan’s exposed jawline, dipping to where the hand was, breathing in his scent.

The biotics vision was beginning to go blurry and knew if he didn’t act soon then he would pass out, or worse, and all the dominating male before him seemed to want to do was take in his pheromones.

In a last-ditch attempt at surviving the encounter - Kaidan could only assume that his inner omega willingly submitted itself to this alpha, it was the only reasonable explanation that his oxygen deprived mind could come up with – so maybe, just maybe, he could play this guy’s game against him.

Alpha…” He wheezed, trying to make himself look as submissive as possible. Even removing his hands from the powerful wrist. “…Please…”

The Alpha snapped into attention, and Kaidan found himself pleadingly gazing into blue eyes that appeared clouded, suddenly becoming focused as he released his grip. The omega took in a shuddering breath, unable, and unwilling in fear of setting the other male off, to move from the table.

Kaidan held his neck, rubbing tenderly at the area which would no doubt bruise from almost having his windpipe crushed, finding that entire situation was way too close for comfort.

Glancing up shyly, Kaidan found the Alpha pacing, thankful for the gap now between them. It gave him a chance to finally take in the other being.

He was young, about the same age as him, a large wound on the side of his head, hair buzzed cut, blue eyes sharply glaring into nothingness, features firm, and his body, in some standard uniform of the facility, was well built up from being a soldier.

Kaidan instantly felt bad. This man, teen, had clearly been through a lot from the distress radiating from him. Already trained to kill. To go and defend the Alliance no matter the cost. A young life potentially thrown away to the wolves. He couldn’t help but feel that he'd gotten off lucky by presenting as an Omega.

Their training wasn’t easy by any rights, but at least they weren’t sent out to be broken like this Alpha had been, it was scary that the Alliance would do that to someone so young. Then again, here he was, with little training trying to help – perhaps they weren’t so different after all…

“What’s your name?” The Alphas voice was harsh.

And there was no way he wanted to give his name. “…Kaidan,” he responded when something deep inside snapped and forced him to answer. Okay, so being an omega still sucked.

“I’m Shepard,” he replied, but still refused to look the Omegas way. More content with his pacing.

Well, at least they had each other’s names, that had to count for something, Kaidan mused.

Yet the distress in the room was once again building up and the biotic cursed silently. He focused on his scent, projecting all the calming sensations that he could, and watched as the pacing began to slow but not completely stop. Work in progress, he could live with that.

“Shepard…” Kaidan began weakly, throat a little sore. “What happened to you?”

The sudden twist of the Alpha pointing in his direction instantly made him flinch, exposing his neck in submission, hearing heavy footsteps making their way to him and feeling Shepard brush not only his nose but now his fangs that once again popped out over his flesh. He shivered.

Somehow Kaidan managed to keep his pheromones level. Keeping the light, sweet scent flowing to appease the other. It seemed to work, and then he felt a heated tongue slither beneath his earlobe and sensed a jolt of something that he couldn’t put his finger on, but the experience wasn’t…unpleasant.

The sharp teeth retracted. Hot breath tickling against his ear. “Akuze, a Thresher Maw, wiped out my unit, I’m the only one left…”

Fuck. No wonder he was so distraught.

Kaidan wasn’t sure that, if he had been in that situation, he would have come out of it at all.

Yet there was something with how his body was reacting, and Kaidan wasn’t sure what it was, but he couldn’t help but lean forward and press his nose against Shepard’s neck. Thanks to his pheromones calming the Alpha it was no longer a horrible smell coming from him, but one that was no doubt making the Omegas pupils dilate.

It was smoky, deep, arousing…

Kaidan fought the urge to jump into Shepard’s arms and rub himself all over just to get more of that scent.

It mixed with Kaidan’s own aroma, both triggering one another to make their pheromones produce more of the alluring smell, neither willing to fight it in that moment.

“You smell so good,” Shepard breathed heavily against the exposed neck. Yet there was still a certain amount of distress building back up, and Kaidan leaned closer, willing his smell to keep the Alpha grounded.

Those previous scents prompting his body to get damp. It wasn’t the first time he had undergone being damp, but it never led to a heat, often Omegas didn’t go into heat until they were 21, it was at that point their body’s would be ready for an Alpha, so he wasn’t concerned about being a little wet.

This was the first time that he'd dealt with such smells, of course. It wasn’t his fault his body was reacting like it was.

That didn’t mean he wanted to lose them. No. If anything his body was pleading with him to somehow get Shepard to increase in those irresistible scents.

Kaidan rubbed his face against the Alpha’s neck. He needed to do something to keep him level-headed. “I’m sure there was nothing you could have done, Shep -ah!”

The biotic cried out as fangs pierced his shoulder, deep enough to draw blood, he whimpered as the teeth were pulled out and he was pushed away.

Shepard sneered at him. “Don’t you think I’ve been told that crap enough?!”

Kaidan didn’t attempt to hide the fear that radiated from him as he scrambled from the table, falling to the floor in a heap and crawling away quickly until he was hidden, partly, underneath a singular bed that was attached to the wall.

This really was not how he thought this mission would go with him trying to hide away from the alpha like a frightened pup. In his hast, the blanket upon the bunk had been knocked and safely covered most of his view which helped calm him, a small break between the floor and the fabric allowed him to see where the Alpha was. Pacing once more.

He could smell irritation. A sudden bang of a fist hitting the table in annoyance blasted out and Kaidan winced, curling in on himself to try and make his form look smaller than what it already was, cursing the fact that he was responding in such a way.

Kaidan knew he was releasing stressed pheromones, thus making Shepard release the same smell, and if he didn’t get a grip soon the chances were that the Alpha would go into a frenzy and bust the damn door open before wreaking havoc on the facility.

Part of him would be content with the idea if he could just sneak out, but the thought of the man before him being put down because Kaidan couldn’t control his own scent to help him…it didn’t sit right with him.

Slowly, he regained control of his pheromones, letting them travel through the air once more.

So-what if he was hiding under a bunk, if he could help from where he was then so be it, all he had to do was calm the Alpha down enough that the Alliance would deem him fit for resocialisation. Whenever that would be.

He could totally do that from being stuck beneath a bed. It was better than talking and saying the wrong thing again.

Soon the pacing slowed and Kaidan knew his plan was working. Good. If he could just keep him calm through the rest of their encounter, he would have a successful mission under his belt.

For a majority of time the room was silent apart from Shepard’s occasional grunts or sighs as he attempted to start pacing again, but Kaidan would be able to keep the Alpha from giving into his anger, the smell of soothing rosemary swamping them.

Kaidan, however, was dealing with his own issues that were making it hard to concentrate. He wiggled his hips to try and get comfortable, but it was no good, feeling a heavy slick making itself known from his ass, his cock hardening to the point he had to fight to not reach down and touch himself to try and ease the building strain.

This was not the time nor the place.

He had no idea why his body was doing this, usually his dampness would be something he would wake up to in the morning and he would be able to take a shower and be done with it, but this felt more intense.

Like the more he tried to fight it to keep his smell neutral and not alert the Alpha to his current excitement, the more his body fought against him, like it wanted the alpha to be aware of what he was going through.

“Kaidan…” the sudden use of his name made him jump. “You can come out now.”

Brown eyes peeked underneath the gap that the bedding left, spotting Shepard sitting crossed legged not far away, he had been so distracted with his physical reaction that he hadn't been paying attention to the movement of the other. His demeanour was relaxed, the pheromones were doing their work.

Yet Kaidan couldn’t help but fear that if he crawled out from his little hideaway place then Shepard would smell his arousal, if he hadn’t already, and he was worried to think what would happen if he knew what being so close to an Alpha was doing to him.

When Kaidan made no attempt to move, Shepard sighed, it wasn’t harsh or aggressive like before. It was regretful.

“I’m sorry about everything…I just…It’s hard to think clearly after what happened…” There was pain in his voice, but it didn’t reflect into his emotions. “I really didn’t mean to scare you, Kaidan. I know you were just trying to help me.”

Silence.

There was a small clink noise of a glass being placed on the ground. And Kaidan found himself staring at a glass of water which Shepard prepared for him, placing it close enough that the biotic could reach out and grab it, the alpha shuffling backwards until his back hit a table leg to give the raven-haired male plenty of space.

Kaidan retrieved the glass and eagerly drank its contents, the refreshing liquid helping to ease the burn of his throat, now if only the sting of the bite on his shoulder would clear up. He wished he could say it hurt enough to distract him, but if anything, the bite was making him want to crawl towards the alpha more.

“I promise I won’t hurt you again,” Shepard tried once more. And Kaidan couldn’t help but feel that if the circumstances were different then the two of them could have been friends, hell, maybe if this encounter went well enough then they would one day work with each other.

Or mate.

The sudden thought made Kaidan shake his head. What the hell was wrong with him? He needed to stay where he was and not get too close to Shepard in fear that he would literally jump the alpha for real this time.

That was when it happened.

Omega, please come out.” The plead in Shepard’s tone sent Kaidan’s blood rushing south even more.

And fuck it - if his Alpha wanted him then he could gladly have him.

Kaidan slithered out, unsure if he was purposely making it look sultrier than he should have, but he remained on his hands and knees as he crawled over to the awaiting alpha. Though he could feel the blush bloom across his features, he held no shame of his hardon being visible between his legs, and as he took in Shepard’s form, he realised that the marine was dealing with his own.

Except he could already tell there was a vast difference in size, which made him lick his lips at the sight, he couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like, feel like, and taste like. Every fibre of his being wanted to please his Alpha.

“Shepard,” though Kaidan was young, he had been told by his fellow omegas that he had a voice to die for and did not mind dropping it a little to get a reaction that he wanted, which came in the form of said alpha sitting up more alert. It wasn’t until he was mere inches away, their faces so close, that he gave a shy smile. “I want you so bad.”

That was all it took for Shepard to pounce, unable to stop himself as the omega was grabbed roughly and pinned down to the floor, blue eyes powerless to focus on anything else other than the being beneath him.

There was no fear from the rapid movement, or being held down by the stronger sex, there was only a blossoming smell of pure, delightful excitement.

Kaidan was in utter bliss as their lips met.

He'd never really kissed anyone before, sure, he and Rahna tried it out a few times, but neither had a clue what to do and it simply remained the occasional experiment between them.

Shepard, however, had clearly shared some form of passion with someone else before, it was obvious with the way he skilfully led the kiss and deepened it, and part of Kaidan wanted to growl at the thought of this alpha having potentially been with another omega.

They were the same age, after all, but then again, he wasn't sure when alphas became sexually aware. He could only assume it was long before omegas did.

“Shepard,” Kaidan groaned, a little disappointed as the alpha pulled away from the kiss, but it soon turned into a deep moan as the male in question began to attack his neck. He allowed his fangs to nibble at the sensitive glands there, but not strong enough to hurt, keeping it light as his hot breath danced against the abused skin. “Please…”

Kaidan wasn’t sure what he was pleading for, but the reward of a slight growl and already battle worn hands tearing at his clothing was enough to have him panting for more, the touch of his alpha feeling amazing.

“Too many damn layers,” Shepard cursed as he tore the fabric away, neither caring that it would be no good to wear once they came back to their senses, if they ever did.

He stopped briefly to look over the topless male, admiring his form before his hands began work on the rest, making the biotics breathing hitch as his pants were suddenly destroyed forcefully and his cock was released from its confinements.

Now Kaidan, in a moment of transparency, couldn’t help but look down timidly. He was not very big in size, he didn’t think any male omega was because they simply didn’t need to be, but with how intently Shepard was looking over his exposed body he couldn’t help but feel vulnerable.

The raven-haired teen opened his mouth to say something, anything, to try and get the alpha to return to his earlier touches instead of eating him up with his eyes, but it seemed his uncertainly portrayed through his pheromones.

Blue orbs met brown. Shepard gave the softest, most reassuring smile that Kaidan had ever seen, and he couldn’t help but melt from it. “You’re beautiful, omega.”

With newfound courage, Kaidan raised his own, softer hands and rolled them down Shepard’s covered chest. Talking of too many layers. “Off,” was all he could say as he pulled at the material. He needed that skin-on-skin contact more than ever.

Shepard complied with a smirk, both missing the heat of the other as the alpha removed himself to pull -rip- off his own clothing, kicking his boots away and Kaidan doing the same, so they were completely naked in front of one another.

If anyone had told Alenko that this was how his first official mission would turn out he would have laughed, but right now his body had more pressing issues, and he wanted to devour every single piece of Shepard’s form.

The alphas impressive erection was, of course, a lot bigger than Kaidan’s own. It was so big that the omega wasn’t sure if it would fit even with the build-up of slick gathering between his thighs. He couldn’t help but reach out, fingertip brushing against the bottom of the long length, feeling the excess skin there that would, once inside of him, form into a knot.

A knot being something he, and many other omegas, were taught to fear.

Vyrnnus once told them it would be the most painful experience they would ever have to be knotted without a bonded mate, only thing worse than a knot was a heat, which if Kaidan wasn’t utterly wrecked by his stimulation he would realise he was undergoing.

But as he rolled his palm against that oh-so-large appendage, fuelled on by Shepard’s heavy breathing turning into moans, he couldn’t help but think of how incredible it would feel inside of him, and how his body was already begging for it.

Shepard moved in, capturing his lips once more passionately, hands travelling down the sides of Kaidan’s body as he was pressed once more against the ground, his legs willingly parting, spreading himself open as the alpha gave an approving growl.

“My omega,” he whispered, hand grasping the back of Kaidan’s calf, raising the one leg over his shoulder. “I promise I’ll make you feel so good with my knot.”

Kaidan already felt amazing, his body responding perfectly to the alphas without a need for thought, but the promise of what was to come made him shudder uncontrollably.

The biotic was in bliss from the attack he was receiving from the alphas mouth, but soon felt the head press against his exposed hole and froze, he had no idea what to expect, and there was still a budding concern that his slick wetness would not be enough to help ease the hefty member inside of him.

“Relax,” Shepard cooed, using his own pheromones to calm the anxiety the omega was beginning to feel. “I’ll take it slow.”

With one final kiss between them, Kaidan felt himself instantly calming, relaxing his body as best he could.

Shepard kept to his word, the penetration was slow and careful, each time the submissive male tensed he would stop, whispering sweet nothingness into the omegas ear until he eased up. Both were a panting mess by the time the alpha was three quarters of the way inside of him.

And Kaidan couldn’t take the pace anymore. He wanted this. He needed it. So-what if it caused a little discomfort, his body was telling his mind that he was ready, and he needed his alpha now. “Shepard…move, please. I need to feel you more.”

Caution was thrown to the wind as with one sharp roll of his hips, Shepard was buried inside of Kaidan, the latter crying out but not in pain. His entire passageway felt like a bundle of pleasurable nerves being lit-up, constricting around the intruding member just to feel more of that blinding sensation, and before he could even stop himself, he was rocking back against the pulsating shaft within.

Shepard was momentarily stunned, upset with himself that he could have potentially hurt Kaidan after vowing not to, but soon his body was reacting the way the omega wanted it to, going in time with each other.

There wasn’t much of a rhythm, more lustful effort of bringing one another pleasure, which from the moan filled room, they were both succeeding at.

“Alpha!” Kaidan cried out repeatedly until he came, a thick string of cum painting their stomachs, having came without being touched, but the delight didn’t stop there as the nerve endings inside of him picked up.

And for the life of him, Kaidan couldn’t figure out why anyone would say that sex between an unbonded Omega and Alpha was a bad thing – he felt remarkable.

Shepard withdrew his cock quickly, making Kaidan whine loudly at the loss, but he was soon turned around onto his hands and knees, the slickness that was built up eagerly being licked briskly at by the alpha who forced his tongue deep inside of the omega’s ass.

Fuck.

Everything Shepard was doing to him felt amazing. He couldn’t help but wonder if alphas had naturally longer tongue’s as it lapped inside of his entrance, rough hands spreading his cheeks as Kaidan’s knees struggled to keep him up right. His dick was already hardening again and this time he reached down to give it some much needed attention while he was being eaten out.

“You taste so good,” Shepard groaned between frantic licks.

Kaidan begged for the tongue to go deeper, harder, and faster, and his eyes were practically rolling into the back of his head as the alpha willingly obeyed. He came again, unsure how his body was possibly keeping up, but it was unwilling to allow him to stop.

Knot,” Kaidan pleaded. “I want your knot, Shepard.” Though the tongue was great, he needed something else inside of him, the idea of feeling full of his alpha, it made him moan like a common whore.

It was like his body was beginning to cramp-up in pain from lacking Shepard’s cock, but as of that moment he was still in too much pleasure to pay the slight discomfort any mind.

There was a chuckle from behind him, wet lips kissing his lower back, not caring to wipe his mouth as he focused on the omegas request. Shepard rammed himself inside of Kaidan, knowing full well it would not cause him pain, and he was correct as the biotic already began to meet his every thrust.

Kaidan was positive he came again just from having Shepard buried within him, but still couldn’t stop, not even minding the brutal hold that the alpha had on his hips.

He could feel Shepard’s knot subtly forming inside of him, signalling that the alpha was close to his own release, and as the ruthless pounding continued between them Kaidan felt that familiar pang of fear.

His body was too young for this, it wouldn't be able to take the knot, even though he was begging for it he was petrified that his insides would not be able to cope with the bulging gland. What if it tore him apart? Made him bleed out? Would the damage be unrepairable? Would he even survive a knot so early?

Shit, Kaidan, I’m so close-”

Suddenly the instant sensation of something filling him caused Kaidan to freak out, and he tried to lunge forward to break from the knot, but it was too late, the gland was already inflating to the point of no return. Both males whimpered loudly at the sudden pull that gave them an equal share of horrible pain from the knot trying to be broken.

Shepard was talking to him, the biotic was only vaguely aware that the alpha was pleading with him to calm down, but Kaidan tried again to pull away. Once more hurting them both in the process, and fuck he wasn’t sure he would be able to handle it if that knot got any bigger, but then he felt a pair of fangs dig sharply into the back of his neck and everything changed…

The harder the bite the more still Kaidan became until he was lost in a world of ecstasy, feeling so relaxed and protected by his alpha that he went completely submissive, the feeling of being safe within Shepard’s arms which tightly held him to his chest as the knot filled the rest of the way was indescribable.

Kaidan found his body automatically clenching down against the knot to fully lock them together in heated pleasure. A hot, heavy load of semen shot throughout his insides, so much so that he felt his stomach bulge a little at how much had been expelled from the alpha.

Why did he ever think that a knot was a bad thing?

The omega was utterly swamped from pleasure; it was like experiencing that thrill of an orgasm, but it never subdued. Constant. Satisfying.

Slowly, those fangs in the back of his neck retracted as gentle kisses were pressed against the now marked flesh.

“Sorry,” Shepard mumbled between touches, keeping Kaidan close as he laid them down, knot still formed. “I didn’t want either of us to get hurt.”

It would have been comical, in a way, that Kaidan could have been dragging an alpha around by his knot, but he didn’t have the energy to make a remark about it.

“Feels…good…” Was all Kaidan could muster.

“Told you,” Shepard said cockily.

He wasn’t sure how long had gone by, but Kaidan, even though he was enjoying the entanglement of being knotted, couldn’t help but be curious. “How long does a knot last?”

Shepard hummed in thought before shrugging, hips wiggling and making them both feel unbelievable pleasure, having to wait until it passed before he was able to reply. “Not sure,” he panted through the sensation. “Never knotted inside of anyone before.”

Oh.

Kaidan wasn’t sure why he was so glad to have been the first one for Shepard like he was for him.

“When I’m by myself it usually takes about 15 minutes.” The blue-eyed male admitted.

Kaidan nodded. Well, they certainly had time to spare. And with an almost devilish look in his eyes as he gazed over his wounded shoulder at the alpha, he rocked his hips back, enjoying not only the feeling it brought to himself but the look of pure bliss on Shepard’s face…

As it turned out, a knot lasted roughly half an hour, at which point it wouldn’t be completely deflated but was enough to be pulled out – thick semen gushing out once the lock was broken. They both collapsed on the ground in a heap, exhausted from their activities, neither able to speak as their body’s deemed that they rest.

Kaidan was sure they had only gotten about 5 minutes of rest before his body began to cramp painfully. Too painfully.

Kaidan shot up, gripping his abdomen, crying out as a new, harsher level of pain danced through his form.

What. The. Actual. Fu-

“Shepard!” Kaidan wailed for his alpha, and within a blink of an eye the male was beside him, looking just as confused as the omega was as to why he was dealing with so much discomfort. “Fuck, it hurts!”

Kaidan’s anguish was making Shepard distraught, both whimpering from sheer uncertainty, too inexperienced to know what to do off by heart.

Shepard bit down on the weak spot at the back of Kaidan’s neck again, and it helped, for a little while to keep the edge of pain off, but it wasn’t until the alphas fingers curiously inserted themselves into the omegas ass that they finally realised what his body was begging for. Another knot.

Nothing took away the agony other than Shepard’s knot, Kaidan wasn’t sure how long they were at it, only getting a little rest between being linked together. Once they curled into one another to relax for a few minutes the pain would start again, and the alpha would spring into action to aid the omega who screamed out for him.

Every time they were bound together, Kaidan would make a hasty request to feel those teeth bite into his far too sensitive flesh and Shepard would eagerly oblige, appeasing their secondary sexes.

It was a haze of knotting, holding one another, and then back to knotting. And honestly, Kaidan couldn’t bring himself to care about anything other than Shepard, mind too far gone to make rational thoughts just like the alpha.

He was content with staying bent over the desk that Shepard held him against while he was fucked senselessly by the large cock that filled him perfectly. He truly had no idea why people made such a big deal out of this when it felt so damn good.

Yet the bliss he was feeling vanished as Shepard abruptly stopped pounding him, fingers digging into his hips as he growled, and Kaidan whined loudly at the thought that his alpha was denying him the pleasure he so desperately craved.

The growling intensified as the door to the room they were trapped within opened. That was when Kaidan smelt it. An alpha.

Brown orbs glanced towards where four intruders now stood. Coming to the horrid realisation that none of them were actual alphas.

Vyrnnus, having covered himself in the scent of a human alpha, stood there with a cocky look upon his face. Beside him were two guards that Kaidan recognised from Jump Zero. And finally, a very timid Mordin stood behind them, the Salarian was talking a mile a minute, but the omega was too high on hormones to make out his words other than the odd few.

“Shouldn’t interrupt…First heat…we need to leave-”

Kaidan didn’t realise it at the time, but Shepard was not the only one making his verbal distaste for the situation known, he himself was practically hissing like a cat that had been cornered at them. Especially the one that smelled like an alpha.

Shepard’s grip on him tightened, pulling him back, making Kaidan choke out a moan from the pressure as the alpha pressed himself further inside to keep them connected as the knot formed and the omegas body worked by itself to clamp down. Locking them together once again.

“He’s mine,” Shepard sneered loudly. And though the biotic couldn’t see them he was sure that his fangs were proudly on display. They couldn’t pull apart now to defend themselves, not without greatly damaging certain areas in the process, if they would even be able to separate at all.

Shockingly, feeling his alpha get so protective of him, Kaidan felt his own form of fangs protruding – though much smaller – were almost needle sharp as he clashed them together in warning. Almost daring them to get closer to Shepard and he would make them pay for it.

Frankly, he had no idea that omegas were capable of such things. Then again, there was a lot that Jump Zero had yet to tell them of their status.

“Aw, isn’t this sweet,” Vyrnnus mocked.

The sheer rage that was pouring out of Shepard’s glands was enough to make Kaidan dizzy, he knew the blue-eyed male would try to kill the Turian if he so much as took a step further into the room, this was his last chance to take notice of an impending threat.

Yet that never happened as both the alpha and omega were so focused on keeping the wannabe smelling alien at bay that they never noticed the two beta guards aim their weapons at them, and before either knew what hit them, two darts fired out of the guns and penetrated their skin.

Tranquilizers.

Kaidan tried to fight the fast-approaching black spots that danced in front of his eyes, getting pulled to the ground as Shepard struggled to do the same, both unable to break away to fight back – but it wasn’t long until they both succumbed to the numbness of a drug induced slumber…

When Kaidan woke up, his throat was killing him, but he ignored the ache as he became aware of a few things. The pain in his gut and the need for his alpha. He was still damp and getting damper while his insides cramped up in demand of the knot, and he silently cursed when he could no longer feel Shepard next to him.

“Shepard…” He whined lowly. Honey brown orbs fluttering open. He could smell him, but it wasn’t nearly as strong of a scent that he would have liked, and as he glanced around, he soon realised that the alpha he mated with was nowhere in sight.

In fact, he was no longer in the facility. Even in his induced mind he was able to figure out that he was in a shuttle – being transported to an unknown place.

Kaidan couldn’t bring himself to care as to where they were heading as more pain pulsated through him, making him groan uncomfortably, he focused on the faint smell of Shepard and soon found the source.

It was his clothes, or rather, what were left of them. He crawled over and picked them up, inhaling deeply, mind not understanding that this was all of his alpha that he had left.

“Poor, little Alenko…”

Kaidan turned slowly, riddled with too much pain to glare at the sound of the Turian commander who sat watching him, naked, cling to the material like it was his lifeline.

The alien male tutted. “Only four hours into a 24-hour heat. You are really not going to enjoy this now.”

Kaidan shivered from a feverish sensation that over took his body, hands tightening around what was once Shepard’s clothes, burying his nose within them. Why wasn’t his alpha here when he needed him?

“And that pain you’re feeling right now?” Vyrnnus snickered. “It’s only going to get worse.”

The shuttle shuddered violently, sending the omega sprawling along the floor, soon regaining control as it landed.

“Come on, Alenko – you’re going to be today’s lesson.” Vyrnnus grabbed him by the back of his neck and Kaidan wished he could say it brought some relief like when Shepard had done it, but instead it simply made him go limp – no easing of pain. Nothing. The material slipping from his fingers as he lost all control of his physique.

When the shuttle doors opened, Kaidan was only slightly aware of the fact that they'd returned to Jump Zero, and had his mind been clear he would have been modified that all the students were standing to attention outside of the place they had to call home.

All the omegas watched with wide eyes as the biotic was dragged helpless from the same vessel, whether it was the smell of the alpha still on him or that he was utterly naked some shyly looked away but were quickly ordered to keep their eyes on the pair.

“This is what happens when an omega goes into heat,” the commander chimed as gasps flooded from the students. “You become useless. Controlled by desire to be knotted like a bitch. Just like him.”

Kaidan was roughly thrown, with biotic force, to the ground. The feeling of his body becoming his own again was a relief, but it was short lived as pain shot throughout him, he gritted his teeth as he tried to stop himself from crying out, but it was no good.

He just wanted his alpha.

“Tell them what you want, Alenko.” The Turian’s voice was cold.

At first Kaidan was so put out by the pain that he didn’t catch on, it wasn’t until he attempted to focus that he saw the commander pop open a small vial, his favourite trick, the scent immediately making his pupils dilate as he realised it belonged to Shepard.

“Alpha!” Kaidan cried as he dragged his aching body through the mud and grime of dirt, reaching out for the alien, pleadingly looking up at him as his ass released more slickness from the smell. “K-knot, please, Alpha – I want your knot…”

In his confused mind he couldn’t quite figure out why his body was responding this way to a male that clearly was not Shepard, but he smelt like him, and in that moment, it was good enough.

It didn’t matter that the students never saw his dirty trick of using different pheromones. To them, it was simply what Vyrnnus always did to prove a point.

“See? Alenko here is willing to take a knot from any alpha. Is that what you all want? To be reduced to this?!”

Kaidan wanted desperately to tell them that he did not want any alpha, he just wanted Shepard, but he was too busy trying to claw at the Turian, continuing to beg for something he could no longer have.

Tsk,” Vyrnnus dipped his voice as he crouched down in front of Kaidan, taking his chin in his hand harshly to allow their eyes to meet. “And this is the race that my people couldn’t bomb back into the stone-age. Pathetic.”

The young biotic could no longer understand words, merely responding to his instincts that told him to keep trying to get closer to Shepard’s scent. Any rational thoughts were destroyed by his heat.

“Take him to the hall,” Vyrnnus kicked him to where the two guards stood, watching blankly. “I want to make him a lesson that these omegas aren’t soon going to forget.”

Kaidan didn’t remember much else of his heat, all he could recall was screaming for hours, begging and pleading with anyone to let him see his alpha, his voice dying and silent appeals going unheard or unnoticed. He would pass out for a mere moment and then get brought back by his body’s need to mate. It was complete torture. A cycle that never seemed to end.

When it did, Kaidan hadn’t been able to talk for almost two weeks, and even then, his voice would be barely above a whisper for a solid month or so after.

Not that it mattered, all the other omegas that he once considered his friends treated him like he no longer existed. And if they did speak to him, it would simply be to mock him for giving into his sub-gender desires. All of them opting for suppressants, which were never mandatory by the alliance, just so none would have to face what he did – afraid that they would go into an early heat like him.

Even Rahna acted differently around him at first, though at least she still spoke to him, he considered that a win. Or at least it was until about two months after Kaidan’s first mission when she pointed something out.

“You smell different,” the female omega told him, having to keep their conversations on the quiet as they sat in the hall. Her nose scrunched up as she took another sniff to make sure her suspicions were correct. “Like, really different.”

Kaidan frowned, unsure of what she meant, he couldn’t smell anything odd on himself. It wasn’t like he smelled of Shepard anymore. Though he wished he did, having yearned for the scent of the other male that he had been forcefully removed from so long ago.

He shrugged, unable to give an answer to something he knew nothing about.

The only things that he noticed recently was the constant feeling of being exhausted and lack of interest in food, which was odd for a biotic as they needed the calories, but whatever he ate would simply come back up. It was rare to keep anything down. Strong smells would set him off as well, which made pheromone training oh-so-much-fun.

And that his chest was now super sensitive to the point that he was no longer able to lie on his stomach, but he figured that it was to do with his body getting over an early heat and thus never mentioned it to his best friend.

It wasn’t until a few more months went by, and Kaidan was stepping out of a shower after a tough day of biotic training, that he took note of his stomach and the fact that it was, though very slightly, starting to bulge. Tender but firm.

Of course, he went straight to Rahna, who then insisted that he got medical attention, he wasn’t a fan of the idea and practically had to be dragged to where the nurse on sight was located.

Kaidan attempted to leave a numerous of times until Rahna shoved him inside the office, and straight away the female inside took a deep breath in and stared at him with wide eyes, making both young omegas glance at one another nervously.

“Is this really necessary?” Kaidan grunted through a sharp breath as his chest was pressed. It was still very delicate. The nurse ignored his complaints, and he was glad that Rahna was there to hold his hand as he was put through more physical examinations.

His bloods and urine were tested. And finally, she declared that she would have to give him an internal scan. Kaidan instantly refused, but Rahna reminded him that they needed to figure out what was wrong. It all seemed like overkill, but he agreed none the less.

Though he was not a fan of the probe. Insides still sore from his heat and the nurse not using nearly enough lube to ease the device into his back passage. An unfortunate thing was that unless an omega was aroused, they would not produce any natural lubricant and it wasn’t like his body was used to having something inside of it.

While the scan went on, Rahna having left the room for privacy reasons, Kaidan was left to his thoughts.

He briefly wondered if it was his body naturally pinning for Shepard. His mind had been on him a lot since his apparent first heat. Even though they hadn’t known each other he often wondered if the alpha thought of him as much as he did – or if the alpha was even alright – the thought that Vyrnnus could have potentially hurt him because of Kaidan...

The biotic liked to think that Shepard was fine and that he recovered and would go on to do great things in the Alliance, even if he never remembered the raven-haired omega. After all, the heat not only came over him but the alpha as well.

He felt guilty over the whole thing. Shepard had needed him, and he lost control over his secondary sex, blinded by the heat, his hormones no doubt making the alpha lose rational thought as well.

Yet he wasn’t going to lie…sometimes he would wake up all flustered having dreamt that they were never separated. And that he still had that knot inside of him. Sometimes it was all he could think about, and it drove him crazy. His fingers were nowhere near as good as Shepard’s cock –

Kaidan sighed.

Talk about being a slave to the knot…

“Here,” the nurse finally brought him out of his musings. She turned the screen that the probe was attached to, revealing…something, honestly, he had no idea what he was supposed to be looking at.

Kaidan raised an eyebrow at the computer and what was being displayed. Whatever it was, it was tiny, and had a small rapid movement – which was lit up in a blue and red colour - almost appearing like a heartbeat.

“What is it?” He should have really been freaking out that something was wiggling around inside of him, shouldn’t he? But he was too stunned by the tiny thing to think clearly.

“Congratulations, Mr Alenko, you’re pregnant.”

Oh.

Oh.

And then Kaidan freaked out.

The nurse eventually allowed him to leave after he calmed down enough to remember how to breathe properly, and in his pocket was now four folded up scan photos of the tiny little being inside of him, his hand instinctively rubbing against the small bump that was hardly noticeable and could simply be passed off as bloating.

As soon as he'd been able to think clearly Kaidan begged the beta female not tell anyone else, especially not Vyrnnus, about the pregnancy. Though she begrudgingly agreed, he knew he didn’t have much time to figure everything out, which he had been reminded of. Being told that eventually he would not be able to hide that he was, in fact, expecting.

He was nervous, afraid, and damn right at a loss with the whole thing. All of the emotions he was feeling reflected through his smell which, of course, Rahna picked up as soon as she found him wondering aimlessly around the hallways.

Kaidan hadn’t planned, well he hadn’t planned on any of this to begin with, but he also wanted to keep the information to himself until he could process it properly. Yet with the constant bombardment from Rahna he gave in, taking them to a shared bathroom and barricading the door with his biotics after checking that no one else was inside before showing her the photos.

He fidgeted as he waited for her to look up and acknowledge what was on the scans, unable to stop a small smile pulling at the corner of his lips – was he excited? A tiny giddy feeling fluttered from his stomach as he waited, crossed legged, on the bathroom floor, trying to gage what her reaction would be.

Damnit.

He was excited. The information hadn't even had chance to sink in and he couldn’t help but feel happy about it. It must have been his biology, he told himself to try and calm down the silly emotions running through him, no doubt that Rahna would be able to tell he was feeling excited about it. Even if it was only a tad.

Kaidan wished that Jump Zero allowed them to send messages to their family; would they be happy for him? He doubted it, they'd wanted him to be an alpha, after all, but he felt high from the feelings that his sub-gender was activating at the data of what his heat had produced.

He would have to find Shepard and tell him and then they could, well, he didn’t know - but he couldn’t even think what else as his mind shot through ideas rapidly as he practically bounced where he sat.

“You have to get rid of it.”

Kaidan completely froze. Brown orbs widening as he stared at his friend in shock, she was serious, face harsh and voice stern.

“Think about it, Kaidan, you can’t look after a pup. What, you think they’ll let you raise it here at Jump Zero? Don’t be stupid. What chance will that pup have with you?” Rahna’s tone was bitter, and if Kaidan didn’t know any better the smell pouring from her was jealousy, but he couldn’t link the two together.

“You don’t know that” Kaidan said stubbornly as he snatched the photos back, not missing the slight hiss he received from his fellow omega. “They don’t even have to know about-”

Rahna rolled her eyes. “You’re not thinking clearly. Your hormones are out of sync because of the pup – you smell disgusting.”

Kaidan couldn’t listen to any more of what his friend had to say. Instead, he shot up, dropping the protective barrier on the door before practically running away from her, how could she say those things?

Deep down Kaidan knew he wasn’t thinking with a clear head, but how could he, she was right, his hormones were way off but he couldn’t help it.

Damnit, he just wanted Shepard…

Both omegas refused to talk to each other after the incident, and Kaidan was left alone a lot of the time in Jump Zero, only getting any interaction with anyone when they had to team up. Whether it was biotic training or about pheromones, none seemed eager to work with him and he couldn’t help but feel that everyone who could smell him was acting the same way Rahna was.

It confused him to no end.

Hell, even Vyrnnus was getting fed up with how all of them were acting. They were all on edge, and fortunately the Turian couldn’t smell why, which was most likely Kaidan’s saving grace, and thus took it out on them with harder training.

“What is wrong with you all?” The alien snapped one day after training. “You’re acting like hormonal teenagers. Not potential alliance omegas!”

Well, they were hormonal teenagers, Kaidan wanted to point out – none of them willingly came to Jump Zero. Yet he was too tired to talk back to the commander. Who knew growing a baby was so exhausting?

Though he did notice the glare he got from Rahna. At least she wouldn’t tell the Turian about his ‘condition’, or at least he hoped she wouldn’t.

Once they were dismissed, Kaidan had been quick to grab food and shovel it down like he hadn’t eaten in weeks, happy that his appetite returned. Yet he soon wondered back to his bunk and threw himself down, while everyone else was still out of the way, he pulled out the scan photos that he kept in his pillowcase and looked over them.

It became his ritual.

He'd come up with a deal with the nurse that providing she was able to continue running tests every now and then to make sure his body was coping - he was very young to have a pup inside of him and she had been astonished that he had a heat so early – then she wouldn’t say anything to anyone else.

Though she would always recommend that he told his tutors. Yeah, like that was going to happen.

Slipping the photos back inside their hiding place, Kaidan placed his head against the pillow, hand running down and gently circled the growing bump there. It was still small, and he was thankful to have been on the leaner side so his clothes were a tad too big, giving him room to grow so the changes to his body weren’t obvious…

Kaidan woke up to shoving, his eyes flashing as his biotics flared, a barrier forming over his stomach protectively in fear of a threat, his slender fangs making themselves known as he hissed at the newcomer.

It was Rahna, the female omega backed up a little, face blank as she waited for him to lower his fangs – but he didn’t.

“Here,” she pulled out a pack of pills from her back pocket and threw them at him. He caught them with his biotics and studied them from a distance. Earning a sigh from his friend. “There to terminate the…” she paused, glancing around the now full quarters of sleeping omegas. “You know…”

Though they'd probably picked up the different scent that Kaidan was radiating, they likely couldn’t figure out what exactly was wrong with him, and thus had no idea that he was knocked up.

Kaidan sneered at the packet of pills. “Where did you even get these from?” If she had told anyone about his pregnancy –

“My parents sent them with me just in case,” she whispered. “I thought as you weren’t taking care of it,” she glanced down to his protected stomach. “Then someone who cares should. You can thank me later.”

And with that, she left him alone, or as alone as he could get in brain camp…

So, after a whole day of even more training and getting yelled at by Vyrnnus, there Kaidan stood, standing over a toilet. Holding the pills at arm’s length as he contemplated what to do. He'd read over the packaging repeatedly. Two sets of pills to be taken within a certain amount of time.

He would bleed for almost two weeks. Maybe longer.

But then he wouldn’t be pregnant anymore.

He would not be pregnant anymore…

His hormones would go back to normal, as would his body, he would have his friends back. None of them would be affected by his pheromones once he took the medication. Everything would go back to how it was before he met Shepard.

Shepard.

The alpha that had changed his entire world. The alpha whose mark was still on the back of his neck, no matter what he applied to the wound it would not heal, though the one on his shoulder had. He heard the nurse mention that he'd been collared, but had no clue what the term meant, if it meant anything at all or was simply slang.

If he took these pills, he would lose the last connection he had with Shepard. Someone who he would likely never see again.

Yet those thoughts hurt him more than words could describe.

If he took these pills, he would be normal. He would be like every other omega in Jump Zero.

His family would never have to know. His tutors would never have to know. His friends would never have to know. The Alliance would never have to know. No one would have to know. The only people who would know was the nurse and Rahna, and he doubted either of them would say anything to anybody.

But he would know.

Kaidan would know about the little lifeform growing inside of him. He would have to live with knowing that he decided the outcome of his future on this day. That he made a choice. Whether it was right or wrong.

The biotic undid the cap to the medication, looking over the different coloured pills and what they would represent, there was only enough for a one-time-pregnancy. For his pregnancy.

Placing them out into the palm of his hand, he allowed his thumb to roll over the circular shaped pills, pink and blue, both holding a sinister dose that would take away the child inside of him if he swallowed them down.

Shaking, Kaidan swallowed harshly, turning his hand to the side to watch the medication fall into the toilet. The water splashing against the bowl.

Honey shaded orbs watched as all the pills were swept away with a click of a button.

Kaidan felt a little lightheaded as his back hit against the stall door and he sank to the floor.

He made his choice; consequences be damned…

At some point Kaidan felt an odd fluttering sensation in his abdomen, and instantly ran to the nurse, scared that he'd done something wrong, or had taken a hard fall with his biotic training and somehow hurt the pup. Upon explaining it to the beta, who merely smiled as he rambled with panic filled words, she quickly reassured him that everything was okay.

Kaidan did not believe her until she scanned him. Now able to have an ultrasound. The cold gel covering his stomach was only slightly off putting, too ate up with fear that something was wrong, but then he had been able to watch onscreen as the baby jolted inside of him.

As it turned out, the odd fluttering he felt was in fact the pup moving, they were currently far too small for him to feel actual kicks and punches.

Kaidan went as red as a cherry in embarrassment. On the bright side, he he'd gotten more scan photos to add to his vastly growing collection. Granted, his pillowcase was getting a little crowded, not that he minded…

The second trimester was a lot easier than the first. In fact, it was a breeze, apart from the growing bump. It was impossible to hide. And most of the students who had been acting weird because of his scent now acted even weirder since he was beginning to clearly show.

Even the staff had taken note of his bump. More often than not they would merely eye him up and down, see the mark on the back of his neck from Shepard’s fangs, or having already heard the stories, would simply give him a wide berth. He could only assume they did that because none of them wanted to take responsibility for how such a young omega became pregnant.

He supposed the alliance would not find out either as that would look very bad on Jump Zero. It felt like his own smoking gun.

Even Vyrnnus hadn’t said anything to him. Though the obvious disproval was clear. If Kaidan could keep up with his training, then he was fine.

He was happy to finally have his energy back. The dreaded first trimester having stolen most of it. Though he was beginning to get hungry a lot and often needed to have one or two more trays full of food. Which could be blamed on his biotics, but he was sure it was to do with the pregnancy as well.

As time went on, the second trimester passing into the third, Kaidan was waddling like a penguin. It was hard to get up. And he was not a fan of his leaky nipples, his pecs looked good though. His stomach on the other hand looked like he'd swallowed a beach ball.

All movements the baby made were easily seen as the tiny form pressed against his stretched flesh. It fascinated him, and if he saw a foot pushed into his side he would tickle it, only to get heavy kicks in return.

The spring in his step from the second term had completely disappeared.

And what was worse – his biotics started to play up.

He would try and control the dark energy as best he could, trying to make one thing but got sparks flying from him like fireworks instead, often gazing down to his overly large stomach and fearing that the baby inside of him played a role in why he was unable to use his biotics to their full potential.

“Bad baby,” he once scolded and watched in disbelief when the blue shaded force was completely cut off. Very bad baby…

Upon turning 37 weeks, Kaidan was completely drained, and often remained in his bunk for as long as he could. He was tired of the migraines, leg cramps, feet swelling, heartburn, general aches and pains and the delight of Braxton Hicks. They were real fun.

Yet all he could think about was how in a couple more weeks he would be meeting his little pup. The thought always brought a smile to his face as he rolled his hand tenderly over his bump, chuckling at the wiggles he would get in return, soon they would finally meet and maybe one day they would be able to track down the alpha who made the last nine months possible…

“Wake up, Alenko-”

Kaidan woke up to see Vyrnnus standing over him, there was a biotic barrier between them, and he hadn’t even summoned it, soon realising that the baby in his womb made it once the Turian had gotten too close.

“Vyrnnus…why are you…”

The tutor held up his hand to stop the human from talking any further. “It’s time for you to go. Jump Zero doesn’t have the resources for a safe delivery so I’m taking you somewhere that does.”

Kaidan glanced around the sleeping quarters, it was the middle of the night, and all the other omegas were fast asleep, he couldn’t understand why none of this could wait until morning.

Vyrnnus sighed impatiently. “It’s not safe for you here, Alenko. I’ll explain when we’re outside. So move it.”

The young biotic really did not want to go anywhere with the Turian, but noticed the multiple guards standing outside the room where the only light source was being allowed in, some of them he recognised and others where in a strange armour that he'd never seen before. White, orange, and black with the helmet glowing red where the eyes should be.

There was a logo on their chests that he had never seen either.

Who were these guys?

Slowly, Kaidan got up, following his teacher outside the room. As soon as he was out the newcomers surrounded him, but he kept the barrier up. He was weaker due to the pregnancy and though, somehow, the baby was helping him channel the dark energy he knew it wouldn’t last.

“You know,” the Turian commander began as they walked down the hallways. “When an omega gets pregnant, it affects other omegas unless they're bonded, it’s a pathetic maternal instinct of your kind. Some even wait until the baby is born and try to steal it and raise it as their own. How messed up is that?”

Kaidan gulped. That did sound messed up, but he found it hard to believe that this male had any good intention towards him, there was no way he actually gave a damn about his safety. He couldn’t help but eye the guards. There were 2 from Jump Zero. 6 who wore the armour he didn’t know.

“And if I had sent, let’s say Rahna, and she'd gotten fucked senseless and impregnated by that alpha-”

Kaidan growled, he hadn’t meant to, but hearing anyone else be with Shepard, no matter how ridiculous it was, made him angry. It was him who had been mated. It was him who was pregnant with Shepard’s child. No one else.

Vyrnnus continued with a mere snort at his expense. “Then you would be acting the exact same way as her. None of you can fight your internal instincts to want to bare pups. Even at such a young age. So you should be thanking me, Alenko. That I’m doing this, so you won’t have to deal with every omega in here trying to claim your child for their own.”

Well, at least it explained why everyone had been acting so differently around Kaidan. He was glad to know it was nothing personal, but it also hurt to think that because of their biology they would sink so low as to do such a thing.

“I’ll thank you when me and my pup are safe.” Kaidan snapped. He was tired. His powers were already fading. And he didn’t know how much further he could walk but refused to request a break, so he didn’t have to show any form of weakness in front of these people.

“One of you will be safe, I’m sure.”

The biotic really did not like his tone when he said that.

When they arrived outside there was a shuttle waiting for them. It beared the same colours and logos as the guards and Kaidan suddenly felt that he would have been a lot safer back inside Jump Zero.

“Cerberus…” Kaidan uttered the name that was on the side of the shuttle. He thought for a moment that he'd once heard his father, an alliance solider, speak about a place named after hades dog, but couldn’t quite remember what it had been about.

“Get the bitch in the back,” one guard roughly kicked at the biotic shield only to yelp at the shock he got back from it. “Fuck! We should just cut that damn thing out of him here and save us some time.”

Cut it out?!

No.

No, no, no. This could not be happening. They wanted his child.

Kaidan instantly started to back away, only stopping once he became aware of how many guns were pointed at him and the fact that Vyrnnus was preparing his biotics.

“Don’t fight it, Alenko.” The Turian ordered. “Just lower your biotics and get in the shuttle.”

“No!” Kaidan cried out, arms protectively going over his bump. “You’re not taking my baby.”

One soldier made to fire only to be stopped by another. “Don’t fire you idiot. The illusive man wants the pup alive.”

“Looks like it’s biotic vs biotic, Alenko.” Vyrnnus sniggered. “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you too badly.”

Before Kaidan could even process what was happening he was being biotically charged at. The alien hit his shield at full force, knocking them back into the treeline, and the omega was glad that he was able to keep the barrier up as he gave a counterattack.

He hated the commander, but he had to admit his biotics were good. He had a lot of years on him and wasn’t currently carrying a child, which in itself made it very hard to manoeuvre through the terrain, but somehow, he was managing it. He could only thank adrenaline for the boost as he dodged rapid attacks.

Kaidan was quick to find cover, trying to steady his breathing, hand resting against his bump as he felt a harsh cramp take over, it took all he had not to double over.

“You must be so tired, Alenko,” Vyrnnus mocked, blast after blast knocking down anything he thought the human would be hiding behind. “How long do you think you can keep this up, hm? Just come on out and go with Cerberus then you can rest. Doesn’t that sound good?”

Fuck: the resting part sure did sound good.

Kaidan’s legs were shaking, and he wasn’t sure if he would be able to move fast enough but broke away from his cover just as a blast shattered the tree he'd hidden behind. The game of cat and mouse was back on.

“There’s nowhere for you to go!” Vyrnnus snapped. “Even if you make it back to Jump Zero no one there will help you.”

Damn, the guy liked to hear the sound of his own voice. Kaidan thought bitterly as he fell in a heap, reduced to a crawl as another cramp rippled through him, looking down he almost cried out at what he saw.

There was a thickening wet patch -hot and heavy- gathering between his legs and he shook his head in disbelief – his waters were slowly beginning to break and leak out.

Now of all times.

“You’re all alone, Alenko…”

There was another intense cramp, lasting longer than before, and Kaidan couldn’t concentrate on how far away the Turian’s voice was. The barrier was flickering on and off and he had no control over his biotics anymore.

“And you’ve lost.”

A hand roughly grabbed the back of his neck, making him go limp once more, squeezing so hard he almost passed out.

Kaidan could do nothing but watch as he was yanked back the way he came, straight back to the Cerberus people and their shuttle before being hauled inside of it, he whimpered as the door came down and the small spacecraft took off.

“Take him,” the human was handed to a guard. “Whatever you do, don’t take any pressure off his neck. Little shits biotics are good.”

Kaidan’s neck was held tightly, too tightly, bringing him even more pain as his body could do nothing as contractions wrecked through him.

He had no idea where he'd been taken, but knew it was some type of Cerberus facility from the symbols that were everywhere as he was heaved along, soon being placed in a medical room.

Kaidan had a collar placed around his neck which had a clamp that squeezed at the sensitive area. He regained little control of his body and could no longer feel any connection to his biotics. His wrists were put into restraints and after having his legs placed in stirrups his ankles were cuffed as well.

His clothes were cut from him and he was left on the table naked, bound, exposed and without any form of painkillers to help with the worsening contractions.

Men and woman came into the room and uncaringly checked him over to see how far along he was, inserting their fingers as far as they could, pushing and prodding at his bump like that would somehow convince the baby to come out.

Kaidan lost track of everything. There was no way to tell how much time had gone by, but he was sure he heard one of them talking about a caesarean if he didn’t give birth naturally soon. His pheromones were in complete disarray, and he was wailing at the top of his lungs from the pain as a cold sweat made itself known across his flesh.

Not long after, a man came into the room, everything about him screamed alpha and Kaidan wanted to run and hide but was unable to do so. He wore a suit. Eyes an unnatural blue that seemed almost robotic and he had salt and pepper hair. He had a very calming demeaner which was off putting and an unlit cigarette in his right hand.

After taking in some deep breaths, Kaidan realised that this stranger, who was an alpha, was doing the job of an alliance omega and using his pheromones to calm him down. And it was working.

“When I tell you to push – I want you to give it everything, understand me, omega?” The man spoke with a crisp voice that sent a shiver down his spine, and more medical staff entered the room and got into position at the base of him.

The alpha male stood beside him, reaching out and placing a hand on the omegas shoulder to rub gentle circles into his flesh, Kaidan hated how much this man was soothing him.

Push, Omega.”

The command was given and Kaidan’s body automatically responded. Just when he thought he was at his limit, he heard a sound that made his heartbeat faster in his chest, the unmistakable noise of a baby’s cry.

That was his baby.

Kaidan instantly tried to force himself up to get a look at the tiny human that was between his legs, but he was pushed back against the table, brown eyes shooting up to look at the alpha pleadingly who merely shook his head.

“You stay down, omega.”

Kaidan whined loudly but didn’t attempt to move again. Forced, even now, to be obedient.

With one final push, his pup was brought fully into the world, lungs taking in more of its first round of oxygen as it cried.

Kaidan wanted nothing more than to get up and comfort his child but couldn’t move. Orb’s watering and tears rolling down his face as he could do nothing but watch as people blocked his view from the baby.

The alpha soon moved away as well, keeping his back to him as Kaidan caught a glimpse of a bright pink fleshed being swaddled in a towel being given to the stranger, making no attempt to show the omega.

“P-please,” Kaidan’s voice was hoarse and broken from everything he endured. “Let me see my pup, please. I just wanna see-” he wept.

He was ignored. The male who he could only assume was known as the illusive man spoke to the medical team, paying the sobbing omega no mind.

“Give him the best medical treatment that Cerberus has to offer,” he instructed. “No need to break what we can reuse later.”

“Please don’t take my pup!” Kaidan yelled out to anyone who would listen. Which was no one.

The Illusive Man turned to him, keeping the baby from view, eyes colder that the frostiest of winters. His gaze fell to his team. “I think this omega needs some rest.” And with that, the alpha left with his child.

Kaidan didn’t even feel the needle enter his skin, but in that very moment, as his eyelids suddenly grew heavy, he vowed that he would never submit to another alpha ever again as he drifted off into an unwanted sleep…

When Kaidan next woke up, he was back in Jump Zero, from the familiar scent that greeted his nose he was able to tell that it was the medical office. Beside him was Rahna, who apologised profoundly for her behaviour over the past nine months due to the pheromones he had unconsciously been releasing, hugging him, crying, and he felt…nothing.

Cold. Broken. Alone.

The nurse had given him the saddest smile he'd ever seen as she looked after him for the next month or so. He still had cramps, his uterus shrinking back down to normal size slowly but surely, shakes, like withdrawal symptoms, took over his body as well as feverish flushes, he'd torn during in delivery, but it would heal.

His body would heal, at least.

Mentally, well, Kaidan wasn’t sure anyone could recover mentally from what he'd been through.

His chest was firm and extremely painful, having to take medication to dry up the milk that was supposed to feed his pup, but now it was another reminder of what he had lost...

Once he was able to move about by himself, he re-joined the other omegas who all treated him like before he'd been sent on that mission, but he didn’t want anything to do with them.

When he returned to his bunk, he cried, more so when he realised that all of those scan photos had been taken.

Kaidan later found a burn pit outside the facility, no doubt in his mind that Vyrnnus had done it, inside were the charred remains of the sonograms. One survived. The first ever scan he had. Such a tiny little bundle that had been deep inside his womb. It was burned around the edges and ashes fell from it as he held it close, but he kept it, keeping it near always.

Throughout the rest of his time at Jump Zero, Kaidan threw everything he had into his training, not just his biotics but also pheromones, and soon he became the strongest omega that brain camp had to offer – when the Alliance came through, they quickly picked him up for field training.

Kaidan eagerly accepted. Wanting nothing more than to get away from the place and the Turian commander who always seemed to gloat about what Cerberus had done to him, what they'd taken from him, and on more than one occasion he had to stop himself from seriously damaging the tutor.

If he could get stronger with the alliance, then so be it, he would work his way up and track down Cerberus, track down his pup. He would spend the rest of his life tracking down the Illusive Man if he had to. Determined that one day he would make them all pay.

And as the years went by, he would sometimes feel like giving up, but the memory of what he had kept him going. The scan photo a reminder of what he was fighting for…

12 years in total had gone by, and Kaidan Alenko made a name for himself as the most fierce omega within the alliance, which he had to admit he liked the sound of.

So, it came as no surprise when he was hand picked to be apart of the Normandy SR-1, under the watchful eye of one Captain Anderson, a good man who didn’t care about someone’s status or their past.

Kaidan did have one downfall as an Omega, which the Alliance put on his record, and that was the fact he was considered “collared.” Whore-marked. Having submitted to an Alpha that was not his bonded mate, of course it didn’t matter that it was an Alliance alpha who'd bitten him, as long as it didn’t make them look bad, they were fine with pulling wool over people’s eyes.

He told the older male, a clear-headed beta, about his mark straight off the bat. Kaidan found no reason to try and conceal it when it was on his records anyway, and even if his papers weren’t read then a quick peak at the back of his neck would reveal the bite, and his scent would confirm that he was unbonded.

Anderson hadn’t even bated an eyelash at him when he confessed. Having had a lot of grief from the small fact that he was collared multiple times prior, it genuinely surprised him that the captain actually cared more about his marine background and not his personal one, a lot of people would be the opposite way around when it came to omegas.

The only people who knew about the mark, providing it wasn’t spotted by any of the crew, were the captain and Dr Chakwas.

And the only issues she had were his migraines that not only came from his L2 implant but also from having his pup taken – the withdrawal symptoms still caused him issues to this day. Though thankfully, no one knew about it but him, and he was able to easily pass it off as his biotics.

The doctors other concern was his refusal to take suppressants. It still wasn’t mandatory in the alliance to take them, so he never did, and he was smart to calculate when his upcoming heats were due. Omegas could have two a year, sometimes more if they were unfortunate, but Kaidan would deal with them by himself.

Which, upon telling Chakwas this had amazed her that an Omega could go through the pain by themselves, it wasn’t easy.

Kaidan refused aid from any alpha. He would simply book time off and lock himself away. Using his biotics to resemble a knot whenever his body desired one. Strong enough to fight through the haze now that he was more experienced. Not that he told anyone about the way he coped with a heat.

He kept to himself, which is the way he liked it, there weren’t many other omegas onboard and he had no desire to get close to them. It was nothing personal but after what he experienced during his time at Jump Zero, it was hard to trust people of his fellow sex who could potentially be controlled by their biology, it was something he'd fought long and hard to stop himself from falling victim to again.

“Lieutenant Alenko,” Joker’s voice came through the comms to where Kaidan was busying himself at his workstation. Usually, he would help the Normandy pilot fly the ship, though he didn’t need the aid at all, he liked the beta male and thus he was one of the rare people that the omega spent time with. He was nosy but a good person. “Captain Anderson wants to see you. I expect gossip.”

Kaidan huffed as he rubbed a layer of sweat from his forehead. “What you expect and what you get are two different things, Joker.”

“Tsk. You are no fun, Alenko. Such a hard-ass.” The beta chuckled and Kaidan couldn’t stop himself from returning it as he made his way to where the captain was.

Another thing about Joker was that the man didn’t care about ranking and joked around with everyone. It surprised the biotic at first with just how much crap he could get away with, but soon realised it was part of his charm.

Entering the comm room, Kaidan was immediately hit with the smell of an alpha, the scent of whom was completely different from the other alphas onboard – it was odd that he hadn’t smelled him sooner. Especially as it struck him as being familiar. His eyes flickered to where Anderson stood, and not far from him was another marine, the alpha, who currently had his back towards the omega.

There was an odd feeling that bubbled in Kaidan’s stomach, but he ignored it. Standing to attention and turning to the patient beta. “You requested me, Captain?”

Anderson raised his head from where he had been reading through some paperwork. “Alenko, let me introduce you to the commander I was telling you about - he’s going to be joining us for Eden Prime.”

As if on que, the Alpha turned around and Kaidan instantly recognised him, having never forgotten those blue eyes from all those years ago – often wondering what colour their pups eyes would have been.

Clearly, he was no longer the young teen who had been traumatised on Akuze. His face was stern and unreadable. Scar on his upper forehead, hair still buzzed cut, and body firm from years of relentless fieldwork.

“Commander Shepard,” Anderson began. “This is Lieutenant Alenko. I’m sure you two will get along just fine.”

Brown orbs met blue and Kaidan’s breath caught in his throat.

Well…shit.
