It was a toss up who groaned louder in annoyance when the ringing of Gibbs’s cell interrupted them.
Gibbs very reluctantly let go of his armful of beautiful forensic psychologist and reached out for his phone.
“That better be important,” Jack whimpered in discontent and dropped back against the headboard.
“Yeah, Gibbs,” he spat into the phone. “What? … Who? … Where? ... Yeah,” and snapped the phone shut in near record time.
He turned back to Jack, looking at her with equal parts hunger and disbelief. Torn between duty and desire. He settled for kissing her deeply.
When he broke away, Jack raked a hand across his chest and questioned, “Something going on?”
“Metro PD, got one of my agents in custody.” He pulled himself to the edge of the bed and rubbed his face roughly with his palms. “On assault and destruction of property.”
“Well then,” Jack said in a shocked daze, shaking her head, “Let me guess, it’s not one of the two we left digging through the Dentist files.”
“Torres,” Gibbs said with a nod, confirming.
“It might do him some good to cool his heels for a while,” she said, unabashedly draping herself over his back.
“Jack, you’re not helping me here,” he said, straightening up his posture, loosening her hold a bit, but not quite pushing her away. He pressed his hands into his thighs and closed his eyes. “Still got a case to work. Besides — it’s not just Torres.”
“Palmer?” Jack said with the raise of an eyebrow. “Really? Wow. I have got to hear that story.”
“I’m sure we all will.”
“Mhmm. I’m going to have to have a talk with Nick about this in the morning, really messed with my evening’s plans.”
“It’s almost 3, the evening wasn’t good enough for you?”
“Really, and you’ve had your fill, I guess?”
“Right, talk, morning. Be sure to let him know,” he said moving to grab a t-shirt and jeans from the floor.
She gave one last call as he left the room, “Hurry back!”
