saturdays are getting repetitive

Summary:

He knew sneaking out with his so called 'friends' was a shitty fucking idea. Katsuki laid on his bed- door locked and balcony glass shattered- as he repeated the same day for a third time. Let's back track this shit real quick to sneaking out again.

(Alt title: The Groundhog Day movie just got a lot more realistic)

Notes:

If you aren’t caught up on season 5 of mha (around episode 101) then don’t read the fic. This is set around after the events of Bakugou and Todoroki getting their provisional hero licenses, but before the Christmas party. Hope that gives a good idea on how I'm writing these characters.

While writing this I figured out (by the UA school schedule) that they have school on Saturday which to an American, sounds like actual hell.

I tried really fucking hard to get these characters down, so I hope it doesn't seem ooc.

Before you bitches continue I would just like to thank my beta reader, the one and only Mocha. Love you hun, you were probably as excited if not more excited to see how this shit turned out and I can't wait to see what other people think about it.

Now without further ado enjoy this what used to be a 5k one-shot turned multichapter story.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: first day of the first saturday

Chapter Text

He knew sneaking out with his so called 'friends' was a shitty fucking idea. Katsuki laid on his bed- door locked and balcony glass shattered- as he repeated the same day for a third time. Let's back track this shit real quick to sneaking out again.

It was a Saturday; the first Saturday. An alarm blared through the dorm walls causing Katsuki to wince as he woke up to a pounding headache the kind that makes your eyes all watery and shit. Yeah, the worst fucking kind. Banging his fist against the alarm he threw the covers off, just having enough mental strength to get ready in his room. But here’s the kicker- Katsuki should've known it was going to be a shitty day when he walked out his dorm to be met with a green haired scrawny nerd.

"Ah! Kacchan! Sorry for bothering you but-"

"Get out of my way Deku, it's way too early to deal with your dumbass."

Truth be told, he was trying to mend their relationship better, but when Deku was the first person Katsuki laid eyes on that morning – with a splitting headache mind you - he didn't feel like trying at all. Not only did Katsuki barely get any sleep last night (since some assholes wanted to play video games in his room late as hell) he also had to talk to said assholes during class and he was already prepared to unleash his anger towards them today.

Today, right. The first Saturday.

He shoved past Deku with his bag slung over his shoulder and made his way towards the elevator. As he just internalized, he was not in the mood for this shit. But of course, the moment he walks past him the nerd follows along.

"Wait it's important!"

That got him to stop in the middle of the hallway. Body still facing away from the other he turned his head to get a glimpse of Deku's expression. The round eyes were hardened, it showed he was serious about whatever got his panties in a twist. He turned to face him; hands shoved deeply into his pocket.

“This about...” He let his words trail off, not wanting to let the obvious you-know-what being spoken about outside of the room with Deku and All Might.

Before Deku had a chance to speak a certain redhead bounced out of his room, uniform a bit disheveled, eyebags somewhat present due to the lack of sleep from playing video games, and his oh so famous- ever so present, smile. Said smile seemed to only widen after spotting both Katsuki and Deku.

“Hey guys! What’re you doing here Midoriya?”

The freckled boy stammered as he waved his hands around trying to come up with a lie. Katsuki was surprised Deku’s secret was kept hidden so well with how horrible the kid is with lying. And Katsuki should know. He grew up with the boy.

Katsuki rolled his eyes dramatically after he caught Kirishima’s gaze before turning back to the elevator and letting himself in.

“Deku was begging for a rematch since yesterday he got his ass handed to him by me.” He leaned against the walls of the elevator; a challenging grin sported his face as if he was daring Deku to contradict him.

The two boys joined him in the elevator as Deku puffed his cheeks and raised his fists to his hips. “You only won because you played dirty!”

“Stop ogling Round Face and focus on the fight then next time.” He scoffed.

As the elevator doors closed Deku tried his best to hide his face with this hands, but the glowing red he immitted from his embarrassed blush was too prominent to be covered. Kirishima seemed to have mercy on the poor boy, “Go easy on him Bakugou, it’s not manly to tease a person about a crush.”

Mercy was not in his dictionary.

“Well, he can’t be so easily distracted. If his reaction time is delayed for just a split second because of some dumb crush, then he deserves to get his shit rocked.”

It’s not like he got distracted fighting because he couldn’t stop looking at Kirishima, but he wasn’t going to brag about that to his face. Pining be damned.

“We agreed to no special moves and then you AP shot me!” Deku whined behind his hands.

Not like he agreed to anything the nerd said, but he was pissed that Deku was too distracted on something else other than fighting. He didn’t think that was all it was going to take for Deku to call it quits for the day. He shrugged. “Like I said, you deserved your shit to get rocked.”

The doors opened which led the trio out of the stuffy elevator. They walked into the common area where majority of the class mingled eating their breakfast or sifting through notes for their upcoming physics test today.

Today. The first Saturday.

“We don’t have PE or Hero Lessons today though, you guys gonna spar after school? You should let your body rest a bit.” Oh, the mother hen Kirishima was.

“Relax shitty hair, you act like you don’t constantly lift weights in your room.” He spat back. Not like it was a lie, that man was beefy, and it wasn’t because he sat around all day. He also totally didn’t know that Kirishima was hella beefy because he stared. He just simply had eyes.

And his eyes saw one beefy guy, sue him. It was just factual.

With a wink - a fucking wink – he shouted whilst showing off his arms, “Can’t get guns like these if I don’t work for ‘em!”

Which, like, true but, not something Katsuki wanted to think about when he was about to talk to Deku about some important One for All shit. He shoved his arms out of his face before stalking away, hoping Deku got the message to follow him out. Which he always did regardless of being told or not.

“I owe Kacchan a snack from the vending machine after losing to him, so we’ll see you in class Kirishima!” Deku hastily lied before tailing after Katsuki.

They walked in silence as they headed to the usual room when talking about the secret. No traces of All Might have been seen, looked as if he was running late. They sat down on opposite sides of the couch, Katsuki would not be caught dead sitting closer to the so-called childhood friend than need be. It wasn’t long until All Might came rushing in before letting the two of them know what was going on.

It was a temporary issue, or at least supposed to be. According to All Might, there has been a villain sighted near the school that has been amplifying other people’s quirks without their control. All Might was concerned that if this villain were to activate his quirk on Deku, then all of the past users’ powers would spring out of him without anyone else to stop him. He advised them both to be cautious. Usually, a conversation like this wouldn’t need Katsuki here, but if Deku were to get hit with this quirk, then only Katsuki would be able to put up a fight to get Deku restrained with no questions asking about his multiple unknown quirks.

They were dismissed after some tea before they walked towards class. Deku, being the anxious ball of energy he is, mumbled series of scenarios before Katsuki had to yell at him to shut up. He didn’t get his total hours of sleep last night and his head was still pounding. He was not in the mood for mumbling.

“Can you blame me for mumbling Kacchan? I mean, it’s not even if I get hit, what about you?”

Katsuki sneered, nose scrunched and eyes narrow, “What about me? You saying I can’t handle it?”

Deku seemed to backpaddle as he recollected his thoughts. “No, I’m just saying if you can’t control yourself, then how would you stop the damage? Externally and internally. Because not only will you explode anything in your path, but if you’ll be blowing things up non-stop then the internal damage on your arms and palms might hurt like hell.”

Which was an obvious observation. “Yeah, no shit, I already thought of that.” And the conversation dropped after that since Katsuki was slowly losing any peace he had left in him. Clearly wasn’t a lot in him to begin with.

They surprisingly made it to class in one piece and now classes were in session. Peace slowly filled back in Katsuki’s body as he began making a dish for home economics. Of course, his dish was the best there. Majority of his classmates struggled with theirs and as Katsuki observed from afar he caught Kirishima’s eye.

It had seemed that Kirishima was attempting to make- was that supposed to be curry? Whatever the hell it was supposed to be the disgust must have been prevalent on Katsuki’s face since Kirishima gave him a small pout and head tilt. Like the fucking sun he is.

He cupped his hands around his mouth, making it harder anyone but Kirishima to read his lips while he mouthed, ‘Your curry looks like ass’

This seem to earn him an offended gasp – as if it was NEWS to hear that his curry looked bad – and a dramatic wipe of a fake tear. Katsuki snorted before he turned his attention back to his bowl of oyakodon. Since he finished early his dish was already graded - a perfect score might he add - so he began to eat his food in bliss. Plus, he skipped breakfast in favor of going to that unnecessary meeting with Deku and All Might which only aided the headache. The food dimming the pain, but just a smidge.

As he ate his food, he felt eyes watching him. It didn’t feel like a stare prompted in anger, but more so rooted in curiosity. It still pissed him off though. Just as he was about to turn around and yell at the asshole who was staring at him to knock it off the sound of a bowl crashed to the floor.

Everyone’s heads snapped to turn to the noise. Their curious gazes landed on a very bright red Kirishima and giggling Kaminari. Yup those were his dumbasses alright.

“Is there a problem Kirishima?” Aizawa’s voice caused all the students to tone down their laughing. Kaminari seemed to be the only one having a hard time from keeping his horrendous snorts to himself.

“N-no Mr. Aizawa,” The blushing boy stuttered. He stood up and bowed his head, “I’ll get napkins right away!”

Both Kirishima and Kaminari picked up the shards from the bowl, the two seemingly having an interesting conversation by the way Kirishima was flushing and flailing his arms. After they threw away what was left of the ceramic bowl, Kirishima rushed out of class to get napkins. All while Katsuki enjoyed his food in curiosity. He wondered what caused the redhead to have such a weird reaction. Must’ve been some weird bro shit that between him and Kaminari.

Home economics went by rather lackluster after the scene caused by dumb and dumber. Though the pulsating in his head continued throughout his next classes. It also didn’t help that he had to be at his best for his physics test and in Computer Tech the words on the screen all blurred together. Thankfully when it came down to Japanese (one of the easiest breeziest classes in Katsuki’s upmost humble opinion) his headache had subdued.

There was still a dull pain in his temples and in between his eyes, but he left his Tylenol in his room thanks to the unexpected visit from Deku. Yeah, thanks Deku. Fucking bitch. He would just have to go back to the dorms after he ate his lunch which shouldn’t be an issue.

Or at least he thought it wouldn’t be an issue. He forgot the leeches Kirishima calls ‘friends’ always wanted to stick by his side like damn gorilla glue. Don’t let their giddy laughter and stupid bright smiles fool you, they are all little assholes. So, while he stalked his way out of the classroom, he should’ve expected his headache to come back full force due to his group of idiots. A shrill came from none other than a pink alien which Katsuki promptly ignored. Back hunched and hands clenched in his front pockets he picked up his pace. He just wanted to eat in peace and take his medicine was that too much to ask?

Ashido ran full force towards Katsuki and threw herself onto him making him stumble with the added weight that was hanging off of him. “Hey Blasty! I’m calling an emergency meeting that requires all of the Bakusquad members to be there! It’s really important!”

He highly doubts that the stupid meeting was important, and he really was not willing to play dress up or whatever the hell else Ashido had in store.

“Not in the mood Black Eyes.” He growled as he shook off the zesty break dancer.

“Aw come on, what’s got you so down in the dumps!” She whined as she stood her ground in front of Katsuki.

Katsuki only grumbled until the rest of his idiots caught up to them.

“Bakugou! Come on man let’s get some lunch!” And here came Kirishima, who of course was surrounded by Kaminari, Sero, and Jirou. At least with Jirou they both could be in silence while respecting each other’s space and calling that quality time and being comfortable with it. The others, yeah, they weren’t like that. Social butterflies they are, something Katsuki will never understand.

They all started heading towards the cafeteria and Bakugou begrudgingly followed along. Or more like was dragged along as Kirishima threw an arm over his shoulder guiding them as if Katsuki didn’t know where the cafeteria was. And no brain, stop thinking about how nice it is to feel Kirishima’s arm around your shoulder. Fucking stop it.

“You think you passed your physics test? I know I got like half right, but the rest I’m not too sure. It was hard!”

It wasn’t like Kirishima didn’t work his ass off the past week studying for the test, Katsuki tutored him and all, he better fucking pass. “It was easy as hell, course you passed it.” The boy smiled, Katsuki thought he was good at this reassurance thing for a moment.

“Speakin’ of class, Kirishima,” Sero butted in, a playfully sly tone laced through his voice as he walked with them, “What was up with you and Kami?”

Katsuki instantly felt the arm around his shoulder stiffen before it was removed from him and flapping in front of Sero’s face. “It was nothing, Kaminari was just being a jerk!”

Said Kaminari scoffed playfully before wearing a smirk, “Not my fault Kirishima was too distracted.”

“You were the one distracting me!”

“Oh, sure…. I was the one distracting you.”

“Don’t even! You know what-“

Katsuki filtered out the nonsense the dumbasses were arguing about. The yelling was only increasing the headache. His expression pinched as he felt another wave of pain shoot in the middle of his head. Man, if this don’t sting like a bitch.

“You look like you stepped in shit, what’s up?” Thank gods someone with common sense who can keep an inside voice. Jirou was now by his side as they got in line for food.

“Massive headache. Need to eat first before I take something.” He got his food and waited for her to get her own.

“You got something to take for it?”

“Yeah, but I left it in my dorm.”

Together they headed for their usual booth. She sat near the wall and Katsuki- not wanting to deal with sitting in between a bunch of loud mouths- sat next to her and waited for the rest of the idiots to catch up.

“I keep some ibuprofen in my bag, want that so you don’t have to walk back to your dorm?” Holy shit Jirou was a fucking saint. He grunted and nodded his head as he ate in silence. She reached into her bag and handed him the ibuprofen. Though Katsuki hated swallowing pills, anything was better than this mind splitting headache. He threw back his head as he washed down the pill with some water. Bleh, he hates doing that, always feels like he’s choking or some shit.

“There you guys are! You guys are fast!” Ashido yelled a couple tables away, disturbing some of the other students from her outburst. Do people not understand? Indoor voices, damn.

She skipped towards the table and slammed her plate down into the opposite side of the booth with the others following close behind. Sero and Kaminari sat next to Ashido while Kirishima sat next to him. Least it wasn’t Kaminari who dared to sit next to him, he could deal with the alarming increase in heart rate, but not with a yapping Pikachu at the moment.

“So, what’s up with the emergency meeting? Last time you called for one of those Mineta was bein’ an asshat. He still botherin’ you?” Sero slurped on his orange juice as he looked at her for answers.

“Thankfully, no! I actually wanted to have a bonding night with you guys!” Ashido’s eyes sparkled as she waved her jazz hands in excitement.

Shit did not sound like fun.

“Oh, that sounds cool! What were you thinking of doing?” Kirishima added.

Shit sounded kinda fun.

“Midnight run at the abandon cemetery tonight.”

Never-fucking-mind shit sounded stupid.

“But that’s past curfew! We’ll get in trouble.” Kirishima, surprisingly being the voice of reason, tried to bargain.

“What are you too chicken?” Kaminari jested.

Kirishima sputtered before huffing a breath of air and crossing his arms. “’M not chicken, I just don’t want to get in trouble with Mr. Aizawa.”

“Oh, come on, we’ll be fine! And if by the slim chance we get caught I’ll tell him I made you go with us.” Kaminari spoke with the feeling of ‘you’re coming with me rather you like it or not’. Peer pressure at its finest everybody.

“I think it’ll be pretty sick.” Jirou inputted. And to think Katsuki thought of her as a saint.

“You too lobes?” He questioned with a raise of an eyebrow.

She turned to look at him before wearing a shit eating grin, “What you pussyin’ out?”

He immediately glared at her, “Fuck that, I value my sleep.”

“Sounds like you pussyin’ out.”

Katsuki was smarter than this. She was just trying to get a rise out of him, make him feel challenged so that he wouldn’t lose. But he knew better, and he knew if he accepted it, it would be just what she wanted. On the other hand, he also knew Kirishima would go - rather on his own free will or peer pressure – he would show. That thought alone made the final conclusion.

He sneered, “Fine, I’ll go to your dumb bonding circle jerk.”

Kaminari and Ashido whooped as Kirishima looked at him with a shocked expression. Probably didn’t see that coming. “You really gonna go?”

And to that Katsuki had only one thing to say.

“What? You chicken or something?”

Eh, sometimes peer pressure was fun.

Looking back at this now though he fucking regretted his decision to the fullest. Currently, it’s the third Saturday, Katsuki knew he needed to retrace his steps if he was going to get out of this stupid loop. His knuckles throbbed as blood seeped through the minuscule cuts on his right hand. He was mad. No, furious. Fucking think Katsuki.

He sat up on his bed and took a deep breath as he ripped off the corner of his sheet. He wrapped the black sheet around his hand and tied it as tight as possible. It stung worse than his headache from earlier and it didn’t help that there was probably glass in his cuts. Not like he could get up right not anyways, there was glass all over the blood-stained floor.

A gust of wind fluttered his hair causing his gaze to shift from the floor to beyond his balcony. The light from the moon bounced off of the glass causing a kaleidoscope like pattern displaying in rays of white and light blue inside of his walls. The curtains waved uselessly against the wind and for a moment Katsuki just existed. That was until the sharp pain in his hand came rendering in his brain once more. Right. Fuck. Okay, think.

Back to Saturday. The first Saturday.

Lunch and the rest of classes went by smoothly. No further distractions and no other oddities. The usual bullshit. After classes were over, he stayed cooped up in his room. Katsuki did not come back down until it was dinner as he kept himself busy reading a book his father bought him recently. He got from chapters eight threw fifteen, a story about a boy living his life getting everything he ever wanted and slowly losing it all. Katsuki doesn’t know how it ends yet, but he hopes for a redemption.

Closing the book, he walked out of his dorm and slouched onto the elevator. The baggy sweatpants he wore hung low on his hips, but the oversized shirt covered any midriff that could be seen. Arms hung and shoulders loose, Katsuki was relaxed. His resting bitch face may not seem like he was content, but he was placated enough.

Of course, his mood was ruined the moment he stepped into the kitchen where he had the fateful misery of seeing the cooking disaster with none other than Todo-fucking-roki seemingly being the cause of it all.

“What the fuck happened Half-and-Half!” To say the least, Katsuki’s calm state of mind was disturbed.

The kitchen had scorch marks plastered all over the cabinets. Said cabinets were also halfway destroyed. The places where it looked like the fire couldn’t reach were fully covered in solid ice. Not to mention the copious pots and pans scattered all over the floor with water overflowing from the kitchen sink as if no one thought to pull the damn drain.

Todoroki finished freezing over a fire on top of a cabinet before rushing to pull the drain from the sink with one hand and turning off the faucet with the other. At which Katsuki just stood his ground at the entrance of the kitchen, eyes glaring holes into the back of Todoroki’s head, and arms crossed over his chest.

“Well?” Katsuki snapped once more, impatient (and somewhat curious) on the other boy’s answer. Seriously, what the hell happened.

As Todoroki began to thaw out his ice, in the most monotone and blunt way of explaining things, he simply states, “There was a bug.”

It took a couple seconds for Katsuki to render what the guy had said. One eyebrow raised as he digested the response, “A bug?”

“Yes.”

Katsuki scoffed before brushing past the other and dipping further into the kitchen. Fine if the guy wants to be cryptic as hell, let him. He opened the fridge as he had made some leftovers on Friday, he was just going to warm up his food. Ain’t no way in hell he was going to touch that kitchen until it was fixed. Who knows what else Todoroki fucked up in there and he’d rather not talk longer to him than necessary. And if Todoroki was telling the truth that there was a bug then Katsuki surely did not want to spend his time in there. Who even likes bugs anyways? Damn masochists. Fuck bugs.

After heating up his food (and scrambling as fast as fucking possible out of the kitchen) he made his way into the dining room to finding Kirishima and Sero sitting across from each other chatting ideally. He supposes it’s been a few hours since he last talked to them – aside from group text messages - and he guesses it wouldn’t hurt to sit with them as he ate. Background noise was nice.

He made his way over to them before plopping down on a chair next to Kirishima and began to eat. He totally didn’t notice the way Kirishima’s hair was in a low ponytail. Not like it was attractive or anything. Is the air conditioning not working or something? Why the hell is it getting hot.

“Well look who decided to join us! Where ya been Mr. Anti-Social?” Sero humored knowing damn well he was being anti-social. Not his fault he couldn’t handle idiots 24/7.

“None of your business.” He grumbled before shoving some noodles into his mouth. Needs more spice.

“No worries bro, we all know you’re a secret book worm, no need to be embarrassed.” Kirishima join Sero in the teasing. And to think Katsuki had a crush on this doofus.

He glared at him as he chewed harshly and flicked the redhead’s forehead with his chopsticks. “Hey!” Kirishima pouted as he rubbed his forehead, “Not cool.”

Katsuki snorted before going back to eating his food, bad mood fully disappearing.

Sero and Kirishima continued with their conversation while Katsuki occasionally added a few snips and comments if he felt like it. When he finished eating his food and cleaning his trash, he still decided to stay with the two while he mindlessly played phone games.

“Not that Kami could’ve seen it comin’, but he should’ve totally seen it comin’.”

“I’m gonna have to defend my other bro here and say there is no way Kaminari could’ve know you were going to tape his ankles together after class because of the look you gave him.”

“Not my fault he didn’t feel it.”

While they bickered, Katsuki couldn’t help but glance every now and then at Kirishima. No, he was not staring. That shit was for creeps. He was just glancing, at Kirishima, for longer than a couple of seconds. He noted the way the strands of hair free from his ponytail swayed slightly the more animated he talked, and the way his mouth twitched upwards around his sharp teeth in habit from his smiles. Though the blonds favorite feature of the shark boy had to be the scar on his right eye. At first when he heard the story of how he got the scar he found it stupid. Still pretty stupid now, but he now finds it endearing… almost. Fuck what a sap this boy has turned him into.

He shifted his eyes to the other plain faced boy to see that he had been looking at Katsuki. Ah fuck he better not get any ideas. But before Katsuki could even break eye contact, Sero got a ping from his phone which caused the other to back down. Hopefully Sero wouldn’t think too much of that, but the glint in the guy’s eyes told him otherwise. Maybe he was just seeing things.

“Oh guys, Mina just texted the group chat, she said we should all watch movies in her room before we have our… bondin’ exercise.” Sero gave the last two words a stage whisper, as if anyone else other than their group knew what ‘bonding exercise’ they were about to be dragged into.

Kirishima gasped in excitement, completely oblivious to the inner dilemma Katsuki was having just a few seconds ago. “Movie night sounds like fun! Aw man, I haven’t kicked back and watched a movie in forever.” He jumped from his chair and placed a hand on Katsuki’s shoulder, “I’ll make the popcorn, meet you guys at Mina’s!” And with that he bounded his way over to the fucked-up kitchen leaving him with tape guy. Fuck.

The pair got up and made their way to Mina’s dorm in comfortable silence. Or at least as comfortable as it could get. Katsuki felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up in unspoken anticipation. When the elevator doors closed, he made himself look as relaxed as possible. There was no reason to feel like this after all. The small bubbling of uneasiness was soon dispersing, what a stupid reason to get so worked up over.

Sero coughed – less of a sign of sickness and more of a way to get Katsuki’s attention. He turned to him and saw his smug face, “You seem kinda spacy today, why were you staring at Kirishima?”

And now that unsettlingly feeling was back. Shit was he really that obvious? Don’t tell him that he’s been an open book this whole time. Crushes were not something he was ever used to and the process of hiding it was hard to keep up. Slipping up happened more often than he’d like.

“I’m not spacy you’re just seeing shit.” He grunted before turning his attention straight ahead at the closed doors. He started to feel a bit claustrophobic. Probably just because he was in this stupid elevator.

“You know, when you usually stare at someone, you have this mean ol’ glare or snarl goin’ on. But that wasn’t happening when you were lookin’ at our residential sunshine.”

He narrowed his eyes on the doors, this was one of the longest elevator ride in his life. He clenched his hands in his pockets hoping to calm down the itch in his palms - they were about to burst. Right as the elevator doors began to open so did Sero’s mouth once more.

“And by the way, you clenching your hands is pretty tellin’. Don’t tell me thee Bakugou Katsuki has a lil crush on our smiling shark.”

Pops could be heard over the laughing of a jack ass known as Sero. Katsuki knew he was turning red, but he couldn’t force the blush away as he was too distracted from the unwilling mini explosions coming from his hands. He hunched his shoulders and stalked past Sero desperately not wanting to have this conversation.

“Can it plain face! Like hell you know anything about me!”

By now Sero’s laughter had turned into soft breathy huffs. He came to walk next to Katsuki as they neared Ashido’s room and elbowed the blond lightly. “You know it’s okay to have a crush, right? It’s jus’ funny seein’ you of all people like someone. And that someone bein’ one of the sweetest people to exist.”

“You saying I don’t know that? Of course, I do!” Katsuki sagged his arms by his side and dared Sero to say something. And as if Sero’s grin couldn’t get any bigger, it did. Though unlike his usual carefree smile, this one was sly and cocky. “So, you admit you have a crush on Kirishima?”

Katsuki’s face was fully flushed, and his expression was completely surprised. He hasn’t been caught this off guard in a long time. His shoulders tensed and hands were popping sparklers without his own doing. This reaction only seemed to crack Sero up causing Katsuki to get angry. Small flames that danced on his fingertips were now on purpose as he pointed his palms towards the other. Face was no longer red from embarrassment, but of anger. This slimy little-

“Boys!” A high pitch screech halted any aggressive actions Katsuki was about to throw at Sero.

They snapped their heads to the end of the hallway to see Ashido and Jirou standing out in front of Pinky’s door. Ashido had her arms crossed and wore a disappointed face whilst she tapped her foot impatiently. Jirou just looked at the two in confusion. Whatever they were thinking, they didn’t look as if they knew what the two boys were talking about. A small hint of relief flowed through Katsuki’s body.

Ashido stomped her way over to the two and unfolded her uncrossed arms to shove a finger at both of their chests. “What are you two yelling about?” She huffed as she clamped her hands on her hips and cocked her head to the side.

The boys looked at each other, Sero with a weary grin and Katsuki with hardening eyes that dared the other to say something. The explosive boy could only hope that the other knew to keep his mouth shut. Judging by the way his smile turned from cautious to pity- fucking gross by the way – Sero was going to keep his mouth shut.

“Well?” Ashido tapped her foot rhythmically as she waited for either of the boys to give her an answer.

Sero broke their uncomfortable eye contact with a fake cough. “I was just givin’ Bakugou a hard time, but I might’ve taken it a bit too far. Sorry ‘bout that Blasty.”

Katsuki raised an eyebrow, an unspoken string of words seemed to have passed from him to tape face. ‘We’ll talk later’ Though Katsuki took the apology with a half-assed grunt and slapped Sero on the back.

“You assholes always give me a hard time.” He made his way into Ashido’s room while the others followed suit. Jirou gave him a once over, clearly knowing there was something more to the story but not pushing him to speak about it. It was her way of telling him she was there if he needed to talk without out right saying it. He appreciated that.

The four made their way into the bright pink room. By far one of the worst rooms out of the circle of idiots he hung around. It was nauseating. The only redeeming quality about her room was the beanbag she recently bought, and the small cushioned chairs and pillows littered all over the floor. He’ll admit they were damn comfortable.

Still ugly as fuck.

They settled down quickly after that and began debating about which movie they should watch. It was getting playfully heated way too quickly. All of their voices dimmed from their arguing once the door slammed open to be met with a giddy Kaminari and an overexcited Kirishima with a bowl full of popcorn.

“The gangs all here!” Kaminari yelled as he jumped on top of Sero who was laying on his stomach on Ashido’s bed.

Sero let out a grunt of pain from the luggage that piled on him. “Dude get off! You aren’t exactly the lightest ya know.” This seemed to only spur the electric boy on as he sat on tape face’s back cross legged.

Katsuki rolled his eyes at the horseplay before turning his attention to Kirishima. They met eyes and of course shitty hair gave a toothy smile. Secretly it was one of his favorite smiles, it showed how goofy he could be. Not that he would be caught admitting that shit out loud. He returned the smile with a smirk of his own.

“Took you long enough loser.”

Kirishima punched his shoulder lightly with a snicker as he made himself home on the beanbag with Katsuki. If this beanbag was comfortable before, now with Kirishima it felt like he was sitting on a pile of clouds. The redhead had put an arm around Katsuki’s shoulder and fuck here comes the shitty butterflies.

Disgusting.

But fuck did it feel nice. Overwhelmingly nice. It was, great. Gods Katsuki get ahold of yourself, you sound like a damn middle school girl.

“What movie were you guys gonna watch?” Kirishima questioned as he fully settled next to him. These damn butterflies’ better control themselves.

“I suggested Mamma Mia, but Blasty over there seems to heavily disagree.” Ashido yelled before all hell let loose on a big movie debate.

It took a full fucking hour of yelling profanities upon unfair movie critics and requests - some specifically being how hot thee Dwayne the Rock Johnson looks so it must be a Rock movie (pretty sure you can guess who the hell wants to ogle a big muscular guy) and another about how there must a good sound track (also pretty easy to guess who made this request.)

In the end, they picked the Breakfast Club.

Don’t even fucking ask how they got here. Katsuki’s ears literally gave up after he had heard actions movies were not the mood for tonight. But sure, we got here. Not like he isn’t salty that they didn’t want to watch any of the Terminator movies. They all have no taste whatsoever.

In a dorm room way too small for six people they watched the movie. The only light immitted was from a laptop owned by Sero (they only used his to watch movies with the group since it had the largest screen) and the only noises to be heard were coming from the computer speaker. This was the only way to get the whole group to be calm – and even then, they would all add commentary upon jokes while watching a movie never once being silent for too long. This felt like true bonding with his idiots, not a fucking midnight run at the cemetery.

Which, he’ll get there.

The movie was average in Katsuki’s eyes. Needs more action, just saying. It was also pretty hard to focus on the movie. Kirishima was right against his side. He could feel every twitch and slightest movement the other makes and vice versa. It should’ve felt constricting, but it felt surprisingly comforting. The arm also never left its position, and while his own arms stayed to himself, he felt his ears turning red every time he would accidently brush his hands against Kirishima when getting some popcorn. The idea of holding his hand, he had only ever done it once and that was during-

Right. Fuck, the cemetery. Stay on track.

It wasn’t until the end credits of the movie where Jirou was the first to break the silence. “Great film and probably one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard in a movie, but Mina – I thought you promised a midnight cemetery run.”

The words made everyone have an instant reaction. While Ashido and Kaminari both seemed to perk up in energy about the ‘promise’ he noticed Sero seemed a bit off put. Wasn’t just him who seemed like this was a bad idea, he also physically felt Kirishima tense up slightly before pulling his arm away from Katsuki.

“Are you really sure about this Mina? Can’t we just like, I don’t know, play board games or something?” Kirishima suggested. He couldn’t blame him for wanting to do something else, but he had already planned on doing this. No backing out now.

“You know I’m with Kirishima on this one, I just have a bad feeling about this.” Sero weakly added but was quickly outspoken by Kaminari. They were both laying on their stomachs on the bed until Kaminari playfully tackled the other off onto the floor of pillows and blankets.

Kaminari pinned Sero down onto his back, with his hands finding purchase on his dispensered elbows. “Not you too! I knew it was a bit weird you were quiet when we were talking about this. Come on man! Aren’t you always the one who always call us pussys?”

Sero looked frantic at the new position he was forced to be in before he sputtered like a fool. Now to Katsuki, that was interesting. He might be less than knowledgeable when it comes to the realm of crushes and rapid butterflies, but he wouldn’t call himself blind. Even Jirou seemed to have an eyebrow raised at the two causing a scene. She must’ve picked up on it to. Who’s the crush ridden fool now huh Sero? Little bitch.

“Sero, even Bakugou is going! You guys have to! It wouldn’t be a bonding night without two members of the squad there.” Ashido whined. She got up from her nest of pillows where she cuddled Jirou and crouched besides Kirishima, shaking his shoulders fiercely as she pleaded.

After what seemed like the fiftieth plea, Kirishima groaned dramatically and a cute pout was placed on his lips before he finally drew the line, “Fine, I’ll go. But I swear we better not get caught or I’m going to be so mad at you guys you have no idea.”

His threat lacked much anger, but it held some truth. Though to Katsuki it was hard to take him seriously when his bottom lip jutted out. He looked so fucking adorable. Also, fuck the cemetery.

After a long conversation about what the hell was going to happen, they all planned how they were going to sneak out. The hardest part wasn’t sneaking out mind you, it was about how to sneak back in. They all knew they had to leave Ashido’s room and be in their rooms before curfew. (10:30pm which is way to fucking late just saying) So they wouldn’t leave their own rooms till then. To leave as little as a trace as possible, they were going to exit and enter from the same place. The only problem were the cameras between the girl’s and boy’s dorms (there for more than obvious reasons) which led to Ashido and Jirou having different exits and entrances than the rest of them.

At first, being friends with a bunch of idiots, their greatest ideas were to go out of their own damn windows. Katsuki had to explain to said idiots that it was harder than it looked climbing down a window from the 4th floor. Not that he would know, thought that shit was just common sense. Apparently not. He would’ve agreed that they should’ve all meet in the front like normal people, but ever since his fight with Deku it was a lot harder to sneak out.

Now though, the plan was simple. They would all climb from the 3rd floor. It was admittedly not ideal, but it was better than the 4th floor. When it was past curfew Ashido would sneak out of her room and climb down the stairs to Jirou’s room with a bunch of blankets and sheets. As for himself and the others, they were going to all sneak into Kaminari’s room, no sheets needed since Sero’s tape would be used as a quick and easy way to leave without leaving a trace. He can only hope the girls were smart to not leave a trail.

Currently, it had just passed curfew, he was sitting against the side of his room where only a wall separated him and Kirishima. He shuffled against the wall with his chin tucked on his knees. To pass the time he mindlessly fiddled with a loose string on his overside orange hoodie. That was until he heard a small - but very present – knock on the wall.

It instantly brought a small smile to his face. He knocked back on the wall, knowing who was on the other side, and allowed the fluttering that bounced around inside of him. Standing up against the wall he stretched his arms over his head. The joints in his shoulders popped much to Katsuki’s satisfaction. He threw over the hood of his hoodie and shoved his phone in his sweat pant pocket while he silently opened the door.

Stepping out into the poorly lit hallway, door shutting with a soft click, he was met with crimson eyes. He allowed himself to stare for just a moment at the boy’s flowing hair. It seemed that he gave up on the ponytail. Not like it was holding all of his hair anyways. The dark red jacket was left unzipped revealing a tight lighter red tank top. Long jet-black pants were ripped at the knees – fucking emo – and his usual running shoes still dirtied from his last work out.

“You ready?” Kirishima had whispered to him, cutting the thick silence in an empty hallway. The lack of racket was slightly uneasy, it was always noisy at the dorms. The only time the noise disappeared was when everyone was asleep, or something had happened to a classmate. It made him uneasy at the comparison.

Not wanting his booming voice to wake anyone he hummed lowly.

Gods was he going to regret this.
