Work Text:
‘I’ll wait until he’s eighteen,’ Reki thought as he watched Miya sleeping soundly beside him. His eyes scanned as much of him as he could in his mostly darkened bedroom; he left his laptop open to use a knockoff night light because Miya told him to, saying having some lights on during the night was good, though Reki knew Miya just wasn’t too fond of the darkness. He didn’t say that, though, because he knew Miya would just get mad and deny it, anyway.
Reki watched Miya’s slightly parted lips pucker as he breathed out of his mouth, heard him mumble in his sleep, and felt his little hand that brushed up against Reki’s chest.
Miya’s parents weren’t home, and sometimes, Miya asked to sleep over at Reki’s place for the night, pretending to want to have a sleepover, but Reki knew, deep down, Miya was lonely, and this was his way of asking to be near Reki.
‘If I wait until he’s eighteen, then it’s okay, right?’ Eventually, Reki’s laptop hibernated, casting his whole room into complete shadows, but Reki continued to stare where Miya’s face was, and even though he couldn’t see him, he knew he was there.
