Work Text:
The music was way too loud and it smelled like sweat and cheap alcohol. The Treble’s house was full of people—a ca people, and others. The crowd was pretty rowdy. Beca stood, dancing with Stacie, Amy and Chloe. She could spot Emily from across the hall, talking to Benji. Her ex-boyfriend, Jesse waved at her. They were still friendly, which was good, Beca thought.
They’d broken up just before this school year began, but they’d dated for a year at that point. But Beca felt a little tied down. She was a junior in college. She wasn’t looking for what Jesse was looking for. But still, they remained friends.
After a while of dancing, a group gathered by the couch. The group quickly became the center of the party. Of course it was a game of truth or dare. No party was complete without one. The Bellas joined the circle, mostly as spectators. That was, until someone shot a dare at Stacie, who was never one to turn down a challenge. After doing an insanely impressive kegstand, She smirked at Beca, who somehow, knew exactly what was coming.
“Beca. I dare you to do seven minutes in heaven with,” Stacie scanned the room, locking eyes with a redheaded Barden Bella. “Chloe.”
That wench, Beca thought. Beca had a huge crush on Chloe. Everyone knew this. “OOOOH” the whole group exclaims, when Chloe stands up, gripping Beca’s wrist, pulling her into the door of a wine cellar.
“Hi.” She says, as Beca shut the door.
“We don’t have to, like. Y’know. I know you’re probably not into-” Beca started rambling, fidgeting with her hands.
“You don’t know who I am at all, do you?” Chloe says, realizing that she had accidentally hidden her secret from Beca. Chloe was into that. Chloe was into Beca.
“Chloe. We’ve been friends for like three years. I’d like to think I know you pretty well.”
“Not well enough,” Chloe whispers, pushing her friend against a wall of wine bottles, some of the bottles clinking together or being pushed to the side.
“Hey careful.” Beca says, looking back, pushing a bottle back into its place.
“Oh, while we’re in here,” Chloe says, reaching for a bottle of red wine. “Might as well.”
“An offer I cannot refuse.” Beca hums, examining the bottle. Chloe giggles, uncorking the bottle with a strange amount of skill. She takes a swig and then turns to her friend.
“Open.” She demands. Beca’s mouth drops open. Chloe pours some of the wine into Beca’s mouth, a few droplets of the red liquid spilling out onto the brunettes lips. Running her middle finger across the other’s lip, Chloe collects the spilled wine before moving her finger to her own mouth.
Is she trying to drive Beca insane? Beca can’t help but let her thoughts drift for a few seconds... But she is quickly snapped back into reality when she hears Chloe start to giggle. “What’s funny?”
“I don’t know. We’re just shut in a wine cellar, for seven minutes, two of which are probably up by now, and you still haven’t offered to kiss me yet.” Chloe mumbled, bluntly.
“I didn’t think that you-” Beca was flustered. Chloe wanted to kiss her?
“Were into that? I am. Don’t worry.”
“Is that something you want? Can I,” Beca finally spit it out, swallowing hard. “Can I kiss you?”
“An offer I cannot refuse.” Chloe hums, imitating Beca’s words from just a moment ago, before caressing Beca’s cheek. Beca feels so weird. Tingly. She connects the gap between the two of them, tasting the wine on Chloe’s lips.
Chloe pushes her against the wall again, only to be met with glass clinking and getting in the way. “There is way too much wine in here. I swear to God.” Chloe mumbles, switching their positions before pushing Beca into the table that sat in the middle of the room. Beca’s hips pressed against her as she kissed her friend’s chaste neck.
“Guys three minutes.” Someone shouted from outside the door just as Chloe forms a hickey on Beca’s jawline, and is working her way down.
“Hey can we switch this up real quick?” Beca blurted out. Before Chloe could say, “Switch what?” Beca had already done it. Chloe felt Beca kiss her lips again, and then she felt her friend’s cold dainty hands climbing under her shirt.
“Can I- um-” Beca asked, escaping the kiss, looking for Chloe’s eyes.
“Yes. Please.” Chloe said, reconnecting their lips again, feeling Beca’s hands hold her. After another minute of this, Chloe pulls away.
“I would normally suggest that we finish this up real quick, but I think we’ve only got like one minute left. And I like you so ending this might not be as fun. Maybe we can pick this up at a different time?” Chloe whispers.
“I’d like that.” Beca replies, jumping to sit on the table. She takes a swig of wine, looking at the other girl, sending a wink. After another minute of laughing and drinking wine, the door opens and the girls are met with the eyes of frat boys and their friends.
“Did you get a kiss?” Stacie whispers to Beca as they are walking back to the couch.
“She’s not into me.” Beca says, blushing.
“You lie.” Stacie says, running a finger across the hickey she had just spotted on her friend’s neck.
