Notes:

Hello! Thank you to the mods who have been very patient. I would not have pursued writing this work without you. I wanted this fic to be much much longer but my brain couldn't function properly these past few months so this is the best that I can muster. I hope you enjoy this fic!

Work Text:

Prologue

Kyungsoo counted to ten, frisking his own body and moving his hands with laser light precision. Years in the field taught him this and the same experience taught him that going in with incomplete gear could mean death.

He almost didn’t make it home in his last mission in Malta. Kyungsoo left his gas mask and were it not for sheer luck and some incredible agility, he would have been peppered with enemy fire.

“Am I clear?” Kyungsoo spoke to the microphone just on the hem of his armor.

“Affirmative,” Jongdae spoke at the end of the line.

“Will I be expecting him?”

“Can’t confirm that.” Jongdae sighed.

“I figured.” Kyungsoo breathed in before entering the backdoor.

And then it was a blur.

Gunfire opened and he rolled on the floor. He pulled down his helmet to make sure he’s all covered.

He ducked to the side and deduced that it was only one gun against him.

This should be easy.

Kyungsoo pressed his body on the red brick pillar, holding his breath and thinking of the best strategy. He crouched on the floor and slowly made his way to the source of the gunfire.

Kyungsoo got the first hit and immediately heard the anguish of his victim. The voice sounded too familiar and he moved closer to confirm.

“What a lovely surprise, loverboy.” Kyungsoo smiled down at the perspiring face.

“I fucking hate your face.” Jongin removed his mask and helmet and directly spat at him.

“You have a new kink now?” Kyungsoo mocked him.

“Yeah and that’s firing your brains out.”

“Are you sure?” Kyungsoo hastily removed Jongin’s helmet and teasingly grazed his hand on the wounded leg. “I can’t recall you saying these harsh words when I’m giving you the best head in your god-forsaken life?”

The headquarters that Kyungsoo reported to was located in the middle of a bustling metropolis. Some might say that placing the main office of a supposed secret organization in a major city could do more harm than good. But in the last 100 years, The Order has survived countless wars and has caught on with the times.

Nestled inside an investing firm, The Order makes its money from actual legal business but its primary mission has remained the same: provide discreet and reliable service to the world’s most powerful. In Kyungsoo’s 10 years in the business, he has murdered and spied for countless masked men. He is not allowed to know the identity of the people he does business for but looking at the news, he could only assume that he has worked for governments, large corporations, and even religious organizations.

Clad in the bespoke suit that completely envelopes him with the aura of an actual businessman and not a hired assassin, Kyungsoo walked through the gated security, heading straight to the top floor. His last mission was simple enough: terminate a witness.

Encountering enemy fire during missions was not uncommon. But seeing the same agent over and over again has made his life quite more interesting. On their first encounter, Kyungsoo was trapped in a cellar for 2 days only to be freed by this agent named Jongin.

His mission to Brazil had been the most memorable. He was already lounging in his hotel room, ready to deliver updates to headquarters, when a man suddenly emerged from his own bathroom. It was Jongin.

An intense fight ensued, a bullet grazed his leg, and his knife made a decent wound on Jongin’s arm. But there was something in Jongin’s eyes that made Kyungsoo double-take his actions. It was intensity. Not the murderous one but rather something that made his insides rumble with anticipation.

One thing led to another and before Kyungsoo knew it, his missions were not just cold-blooded pursuits but impassioned reunions with a dangerous lover.

Right after he terminated the witness in his last mission, he treated the gunshot wound he himself inflicted on Jongin. The next minute, they were out and in a cheap motel room, moaning each other’s names. Jongin could easily report to his superiors that enemy fire got there first and there was nothing he could do.

This has been their story. A pendulum of who takes the loss and the victory but with everything else aside, the thrill and excitement has always been a win. Especially when you aren’t truly sure that the man balls deep inside you can blow your brains out the next moment. Fortunately, there has been nothing of that sort. They would part their ways, with no promise of return but fate always brought them together.

“Good morning, sir.” The attendant welcomed him with a big smile. “Can I have your access card, please?”

He politely obliged and stepped in front of the retina scanner. After confirming his identity, the attendant gave back his card to provide him access to the rest of the floor.

“Thanks, Taeyong.” Kyungsoo smiled in gratitude and went straight to the briefing room.

The office sounded and looked like the typical boring business environment. The white walls, the washed-out lights, and the silent hum of electronics. A bystander would never mistake that from these walls emerged mission briefs that had far-reaching effects on the rest of the world.

Kyungsoo placed his card on the receptacle and positioned his eye for another scan. The door automatically opened revealing a small furnished room. The floor was carpeted, the couch was comfortable, a complete entertainment system, and a fully-stocked fridge.

“How was the mission?” Junmyeon asked, his eyes trained on the television screen.

“It was fine, sir. Everything went according to plan.”

“Are you sure?”

Kyungsoo furrowed his brows. His mission was simple and brief: terminate the witness. Surely, he has terminated him. He even checked the pulse to make sure the witness was dead.

“I am sure. I am always sure.”

“Then explain this.”

Junmyeon pressed a few buttons and on the television flashed CCTV footage of a man walking through airport security. Kyungsoo could not believe his eyes. He checked the time stamp and it was just earlier this morning.

He can’t believe it. This man should have been dead. He shot him in the heart to make sure of it.

“Apparently, the man you killed was a fake. A clever ruse. The real one is very much alive and is heading to Italy. This time, I want him alive.”

A few hours later, Kyungsoo was settling his gear in a nondescript hotel in the outskirts of Milan. All he needs to do is neutralize his target and deliver him to an outpost where he can be interrogated by other agents.

Kyungsoo used to question why he has to work alone but in the years he has fulfilled his missions, he realized how important it was to be discreet and to not draw attention to one’s self. Everything can be easily broadcasted to the rest of the world and a troop of armed assassins is just begging to be a breaking scoop in any local news network.

A doorbell rang and his stomach croaked in anticipation. He can’t recall the last time he ate, especially with this morning’s mishap, his mind has been working double-time to trace back any mistakes he possibly made.

He peeked through the hole and a frown crossed his face. Despite being dressed as hotel staff with a food cart in tow, the man is clearly the man he forgot to think about.

Was Jongin responsible for complicating his mission? Then why is he here? Isn’t he supposed to extract the witness?

Kyungsoo groaned and opened the door.

“Buona serra, signore.” The man greeted him with an unmistakable Italian accent.

“Fuck you.” Kyungsoo cursed and retreated into his room. Not even guarding his back from a potential attack.

“Too excited?” He took off his cap and unceremoniously sat on the bed. “I thought we aren’t supposed to fuck until mission is over? Change of protocol?”

“I was so sure that I killed the right target. He was dead when I left yesterday.”

“When you left without even kissing me goodbye?” Jongin pouted with the energy of a 5-year-old child. “He was really dead. But we were just fooled. You know they’re so good with that stuff. I never even suspected a thing.”

Jongin handed Kyungsoo his plate. He ordered bucatini and a bottle of Sangiovese. The maitre d' suggested the pairing and Kyungsoo was grateful for the suggestion.

“Aren’t you eating dinner?”

“I’m good.” Jongin made a motion using his hand over his stomach.

“So, why are you here? I assume you got here first. You could have rescued the target from me.”

“It almost feels like you aren’t happy to see me.”

“God, you are impossible.” Kyungsoo groaned in frustration. “Just tell me what you want.”

“The witness is in a hotel room 2 floors above us.”

Without a second thought, Kyungsoo dropped his fork and pulled his gun at Jongin. The latter quickly reacted and had his own gun pointed back to Kyungsoo.

They were at an impasse.

“His room number or you’re dead.”

“Are you sure you want to kill me?”

“I’ve been dreaming to murder you.” Kyungsoo snarled.

Jongin moved closer and Kyungsoo could almost hear his breath. It was slow breathing. As if the situation they’re in doesn’t warrant even the slightest of nerves.

“So you’ve been dreaming of me?” Jongin took another step and Kyungsoo couldn’t find it in himself to make any move at all. He just stood there. Soaking in Jongin’s every breath.

“Because I have been dreaming of you.” The taller guy revealed. Jongin held Kyungsoo’s gun and slowly pried it off his hand with ease. Jongin placed both of their guns on the small dining table.

“You left without letting me touch you. You know, I have been longing to see you.” Jongin guided his own hands, caressing Kyungsoo’s dazed face.

“I needed to be home.”

“Tsk.” Jongin breathed over Kyungsoo’s face. His lips lightly graze Kyungsoo’s nose, cheeks, until it finds purchase in his plump red lips.

The touch was almost electric. Kyungsoo felt Jongin’s hands firmly pulling him in and just like every encounter, he finds himself lost to the feeling. It was as if Jongin’s touch rendered him immobile. That he had nothing else to do but revel in the immense pleasure of being with the man.

He let out a soft moan when Jongin simultaneously grinds up his boner at him while his hands are hard at work, massaging Kyungsoo’s ass.

Kyungsoo nudged Jongin until he pushed the taller guy down on the bed. He climbed on top of Jongin, gyrating his ass on top of Jongin’s clothed dick as he let the taller man pepper his neck with kisses.

Jongin completely laid down and Kyungsoo quickly went up to work, undressing him. He pulled down Jongin’s underwear and with it came the man’s dick springing forward up his face.

He licked it with so much want, letting his tongue cover the ridges on Jongin’s balls, moving up until he was sucking every bit of fluid from the tip of the dick. The taller man gripped his hair, guiding Kyungsoo’s head to go down. Kyungsoo’s hand was rubbing the lower region of Jongin’s dick while his other hand was interlocked with the man’s hand.

He couldn’t recall the time they started holding hands while fucking each other but Kyungsoo just always liked the feeling of Jongin’s hands firmly interlocked with his. It felt like he was in the safest place he could ever be. Far from their initial encounters where they will be out for each other’s blood.

“Fuck, suck that dick you little bitch.” Jongin harshly moaned out when Kyungsoo started to hum around his dick, manipulating his tongue around every inch.

They swiftly switched positions and it was now Jongin undressing Kyungsoo. There was a certain feeling of heaving desire every time they did this. It was not just because they were supposed to be enemies. It has gone past that in the last few years. It was the feeling of absolute desire and certainty about each other.

Jongin grunted when he finally removed the strapped knife along Kyungsoo’s thigh. Kyungsoo spread his legs and Jongin was like a magnet that immediately dove in to bury his face on Kyungsoo’s ass.

“Oh god. That’s so good.” Kyungsoo moaned in pleasure. Jongin smiled knowing how his tongue is working wonders with Kyungsoo’s hole.

Kyungsoo swore that he would almost faint with the overwhelming pleasure every time Jongin went down on him. The man’s hands capable of doing the most horrible acts can also perform wonders. His hands put Kyungsoo closer to death and also allowed him to appreciate how life can be this good.

Jongin fucked him with his fingers for a short while before he decided to enter Kyungsoo himself. Kyungsoo craned his neck and salivated in anticipation.

Jongin was a man of beauty. His face chiseled to perfection, his arms and legs bulged with muscles, and his stomach was a disarming array of washboard abs. And his dick was no exception.

It still glistened with Kyungsoo’s saliva and the soft bedroom lighting adequately reflected every inch of the appendage that always made him cry for more.

And tonight was no exception. With every thrust was Kyungsoo descending into a state of complete surrender to Jongin’s advances. Kyungsoo was so used to controlling every aspect of his life and he liked how can finally let go of everything.

His hole tightly clenched around Jongin’s dick and despite copious amounts of lubrication, Kyungsoo still quivers with the overwhelming pressure and heat. It doesn’t help that Jongin’s body shone with sweat and his eyes were filled with nothing but desire.

Desire for Kyungsoo.

Jongin dove in for another kiss, letting Kyungsoo hug the man from behind. Their bodies coming together in a scene that is both sinful and heavenly.

“Are you there yet?” Jongin asked and Kyungsoo nodded in reply.

He pulled out from Kyungsoo and plopped right beside the smaller man. He removed the condom, hurling it in the bedside trash before facing the man again.

They rubbed their dicks together until they reached their climax.

But what was supposed to be a cathartic post-coital exchange turned into a blur of fist and gunfight.

Without even giving them a chance to put back their clothes on, a gang of around 6 to 8 men barged into their room. Their training instantly kicked in.

Kyungsoo dove for his guns. He glanced at Jongin who was already wielding his own firearm. Kyungsoo was glad that the hotel room was quite large and that it gave them some time to take cover before enemy fire rained on them.

But a group of men was not enough to overcome them. Kyungsoo found himself hitting all his targets and he assumed Jongin was doing well on his own. Their dicks and balls swinging and still wet with cum didn't even slow them down.

Their backs were pressed on the floor, their eyes communicating effortlessly. Kyungsoo pulled out his knife and with expert precision, hurled it to the side. A pained scream confirmed that he hit his target.

They checked their remaining attacker who was luckily, still alive.

“Who are you?” Kyungsoo calmly questioned him while Jongin patted the guy down for any weapons.

“That’s not important.” The man slightly groaned. “But you.” He pointed at Jongin. “This would not be the last time people would be coming for you. You left the agency with the promise of never interfering with our missions and you’re naked with another agent.”

It was the man’s last words.

“What happened?” Kyungsoo asked while they were both scrambling to collect their belongings.

“I resigned yesterday after I failed the mission. I just came here to see you.”

“Romantic, aren’t you? But very dumb.”

“Not really dumb when I helped you complete your mission.”

Jongin smiled at him devilishly.

“You killed my target?”

“Of course not. Didn’t Junmyeon tell you he wanted him alive?”

“What?” Kyungsoo almost lost his balance with the information he’s receiving right now. “How do you know Junmyeon?”

“He’s my brother,” Jongin replied nonchalantly. “I just learned yesterday that he was not just operating an investing firm. And to top everything off, he’s apparently the employer of my boyfriend.”

“Since when did we become boyfriends?”

“Are we not?” Jongin confidently said. It almost felt like he would murder Kyungsoo if he did not agree.

“Fine.” Kyungsoo grabbed Jongin by the neck and firmly kissed him for a good while. “I assume my target is in the outpost?”

“All taken cared of.”

“Then let’s go.”

Epilogue

The somber mood in the restaurant, previously dominated by the light chatter and the clanking of silverware, turned a different color when a man broke into a sinister laugh. His deep voice bounced off the walls easily, filling up the space just like floodwater.

Everyone craned their heads to the commotion wondering how these types of people got in here. The waiting list for reservations went as far back as months. Suffice to say that anyone who dined here lived a life nothing short of luxury.

“What the hell was that for?” Jongin coughed harshly as he returned the pen that doubled as a pill bottle back into the lining of his suit.

“Why would you poison my drink?” The taller man’s slick hair remained immaculate despite the fazed look on his face.

“Just so you experience how it feels like to choke.” Kyungsoo still couldn’t stop laughing, but he suddenly straightened up when the maître d' hesitantly approached their table.

“Sir.” The man struggled to find his words. “I’m sorry to interrupt but is there any problem?”

“We’re all good, Lauro.” Kyungsoo breathed a reply in perfect Italian. “My boyfriend here just forgot how to drink his aperitivo .”

“Oh, would you want to select another drink from our wine selection, sir?” Lauro turned to Jongin who was throwing daggers at Kyungsoo.

“No, I’m good.” Jongin gave Lauro an apologetic look. “I’m sorry for the commotion.”

“You don’t have to apologize, sir.” The old man smiled affectionately. “I’ll leave you two then.”

As soon as Lauro got out of earshot, Jongin started telling off Kyungsoo.

“Can we at least have one peaceful night together?” Jongin looked desperate.

“Peaceful was never in our vocabulary, darling.” Kyungsoo swirled the drink in his glass.

“Then let’s do it.” The taller man said decisively as he reached for something in his pocket.

“Do what?”

“This.”

“When I said peaceful, I didn’t mean die. And that’s barely a peaceful way to die. That’s a grenade, Jongin.” The smaller man gave him an unamused look.

“Hide that before anyone sees.” Kyungsoo instantly lowered his voice. The last thing they need is to stir panic in this quaint town in Italy.

“Just fucking open it.” Jongin rolled the metal canister across the table.

“This is not.” Kyungsoo looked at him with doubt and confusion in his eyes. “This is not a grenade.”

Of course, his boyfriend would differentiate a real grenade from a fake one.  Especially one that he had custom-made just for this event. For a man who spent childhood cleaning rifles and sorting explosives, Kyungsoo could almost trigger an explosion with just a single thought.

But Jongin wanted a different life. And he knew Kyungsoo did, too.

Kyungsoo instantly found a way to open the fake grenade.

“You’re fucking kidding me.” Kyungsoo couldn’t hide his smile.

“Will you marry me?” Jongin said without much fanfare as if asking Kyungsoo’s hand in marriage was as simple as ordering your favorite latte.

“I hate you.” Kyungsoo slowly shook his head. “Now my proposal looks lame.”

“What were you planning to do?”

“Feed you with a cupcake?” Kyungsoo waves off his own silliness.

“So is this a yes?” Jongin paused to clarify.

“I would have strangled you to death if you didn’t propose any sooner.” Kyungsoo got up, placed the ring on his hand, and hid the grenade in his pocket.

Jongin just giggled. Of course, strangling your boyfriend---no, fiance---is a valid love language.

“I fucking love you, Kim Jongin.”

Jongin stood up and kissed his forehead.

“I love you too, baby.”

Jongin smiled. He smiled with so much certainty.

“I can’t wait to poison your daily morning coffee.” Kyungsoo looked at him fondly.

Kyungsoo killed with so much grit and tenacity and Jongin is sure that all this intensity would fill their days in the bedroom with so much love.
