Cameron pressed the thermos into his hand. "Tell me why are you here? This aint exactly your bivouac" He asked crossing his arms against the down right cold late October night. The sun had just set. He and Daniel sitting up on a hill watching over a motel Cameron had not so pleasant memories of the last time he was there.
Daniel lowered the headset he had been wearing and his brow tightened for a few moments before he spoke. "Technically it is my bivouac" he gestured to the table with the canopy over it. A few electronics and several books on the table spoke of work. "They needed a fluent G'aould speaker. With Sam out on the Hammond, Teal'q and you were on Trainee field trip to Hak'tyl III, I thought my expertise was needed" he brought the thermos to his lips.
"You were bored." Cam said with a side glance to Daniel before he brought binoculars to his face to view.
"I was bored. Where is Teal'q?" He took a slow sip of the hot beverage. His eyes grew large. "Hot Chocolate?" he licked his lower lip mildly annoyed at the joke.
"I came back early give the big guy some IT." He smirked. "I see Princess is prowling." The 4th member of SG-1 was leaning on a lamppost. Her attire was less that of a military team and more of the oldest profession. A hairclip sparkled in the low light of the streetlamp. What look like earphones to a music player were in her ears. She turned briefly to the hill and winked. Completing the turn she made it look like she were bored rather then signaling. He looked over to Daniel who grinned back pointing to the mic with the green active light lite. He exhaled nodding "That was good. You got me. Next time, it is coffee. What have we got - displaced Jaffa? hiding Goa'uld? Lucian Alliance?"
"So far Vala hasn't sensed any Goa'uld. I'm thinking Displaced Jaffa. Sgt Latimer over there in the late modal Ford has 15 on it being Lucian. So far it is quiet no one has come out of the hotel room and the police have the area cordoned off." He put the earphones back on while talking. "We are waiting on a clue as to where the ship might be, then we take them."
"Anything interesting?" he watched as Vala's jaw chewed in time with her walking.
"No yet. I think I might loose to Latimer. More stuff about not understanding Earth TV. Some discussion as to if the porn is educational or instructional." He activated the mic again. "Vala, one of them is going out. Guys be on alert." he closed the mic falling silent.
Cam saw Vala blow a bubble from her gum. The usual acknowledgment. "She heard you." He watched the other 'couple' in the car, Latimer and an unknown -to-him female officer in plain clothes seemed to be making out. A guy walked out of the room shutting the door to the hotel room. Latimer and the woman got out of the car arguing pointing fingers at each other. The man noticed them then looked away with no further interest. He headed off into the field. Daniel spoke into the mic "got a live one going..."
"Due West and a fast march and another headed to Vala" Cameron added at the pause.
"Due West, quickly." Daniel cut out the mic. "Got a cloaked Tel'tak on loan to help with the search" He kept looking at Vala who was flirting aggressively with the guy.
"Looks like Latimer and the airmen are breaking up. She slapped him. Ouch" Cam asked putting the binoculars down for a moment to check out Jackson. He noticed no knitted brow or clenching jaw. "You ok with that?"
"Kinda. I pity the guy though. Vala had other plans tonight and isn't that happy about missing them." Daniel took off his glasses, holding them out he looked threw them. Bring a cloth to them he cleaned them. Holding them away a bit he looked up to the sky. It was finally dark enough for the stars to be seen. Placing them back on he closed his eyes to listen with more focus.
"And Latimer is 15 richer," flipping the mic he spoke quickly "We got Lucian alliance right here in Colorado people."
A few more minutes pass and the radio came alive with a voice. "Bird in the nest. time to gather the bush" With that Cam and Daniel check their weapons and started down the hillside. The man in front of Vala sunk to the ground with a recognizable clutching of himself. Cam winced with a small bit of empathy for the guy.
"You ok" Cam asked Vala arriving before Daniel. "looked like you've done this before.
"I've decided to aggressively ignore that part of my life until it goes away" she said with an angry edge held a threat if anyone asked more questions. She produced a 'Zat and fired it once at the moaning guy on the ground rendering him unconscious. The sound of other 'Zats fire spoke of Latimer and his squad capturing the rest of the group.
Jackson arrived just as the last twrp was heard. "Darling I'm breaking up with you. Cameron is my new prince charming as he got here first" She said with the trademark Mal Doran 1000 watt smile.
"Told you she was annoyed" Daniel said to Cam walking away to Latimer and the others leaving Cam with an utterly confused expression. Vala sashayed to the black SUVs that had arrived.
"This is what I get for giving Teal some Ishta Time!"
