Chapter Text
It was a dark night in Inazuma, And Lumine had spent a long day exploring and fighting on the island. Being a traveler in any world meant living everyday experiencing new things, even if it left her core aching.
Tonight even paimon was oddly quiet. Staying in her little pocket dimension instead of monologing their day with her shrill voice. The blonde girl sat by the stone steps of the forest she and Ayaka traveled on the day they both enjoyed together. And looked down into the clear waters.
It was a sweet memory to recall the winter princess dancing in the riverbed, which now peacefully trickled to add to the scenery. She favored this forest because of the pretty blue flowers and stillness. Despite surrounding herself in a wistful environment, the traveller was feeling down and tired.
Even though she had made so many friends in Inazuma, her soul was still weighed with loneliness. This journey of hers was meaningful down to every tiny quest; but she still longed to the stars and her twin galaxy. She missed Aether so much, She would trade every worldly possession she owned just to see her dear brothers face. Usually she would repress these emotions and remain strong, carry on with life until the end goal was achieved. But other times it would rush out like a waterfall, and she had no choice but to find comfort in her own solitude.
Lumine felt so blessed to be here, no matter how flawed the world was. It was always magical and special, something now many would take the time to notice. She could feel it everywhere, even in the darkness, the universe was working in mysterious ways. Could Aether feel it too? Could he, who traveled through the world once already, understand that it was worth fighting for? He was all she was fighting for, and still she saw how precious every living thing was.
The girl opened her palm and summoned constellationns in her hand, looking down at the glowing stars like they were the most beautiful things she's ever seen. When suddenly her vision blurred, and tears fell like raindrops into her lap.
Lumine missed him so, so much. The memories of her only family stung like lighting, and roared like thunder in her mind. There was a reason they were separated, there was a reason she had to chase after him alone. She just didn't quite understand it yet, but it still felt like he abandoned his sister. From the moment she woke up on the beach alone to meeting him again with the abyss. It was not either of their faults, it really was not what either of them wanted when the gods always stood in their way of eachother. Barbara had told the girl at one time to count the goodness of a situation when she was focused on the bad, So lumine closed her eyes and laid back on the grass.
She counted, the way the leaves stirred above, the feeling of frost bitten grass tickling her arms,.how the air smelled crisp with every deep breath. She was without Aether, and that was not okay in this moment. Being vulnerable for a while was not the end of the world, and she would overcome every loss each night at a time. Slowly, she felt her mind slowly lose consciousness among the glowing flowers.
