Earth & Fire

Summary:

“If I capture you, I won’t get to fight you anymore… unless you’re lucky enough to escape, like Xiumin did, but since he pulled those stunts, you can bet your chances of escape will be slim,” Chānyeøl spoke, leaning forward, lips to D.O’s ear, leaving a shiver down the shorter male’s spine, “And I can’t have that.”

Work Text:

Suho was so sure that they were going to win the war now.

EXO had two more members that had finally reached Earth to join them, they’d finally woke up from their sleep, and were ready to battle against X-ËXØ. At least, that’s what Suho thought, at first. As soon as the new faces stepped on the battlegrounds, the Red Force had taken complete interest in the capturing of those new faces.

A slip-up with Kāi and Sehůn landed Xiumin captured. The ice-user managed to escape but not before they’d taken what they needed from him. When the addition stepped on the battleground during the next fight, Xiůmïn, Suho knew that D.O had to be protected at all costs.

The group was still waiting for Lay’s arrival, whenever that would be, but Suho was determined to protect D.O at all costs, and when their healer came, they had to make sure that the Red Force never got their claws on Lay. If the opposition had Lay’s ability, they would never see an end to the war.

D.O could manipulate all of Earth, he had undeniable strength for such a small individual, and he could cause an earthquake that could rattle the planet. Suho knew all this. D.O was their winning ticket to the war against the clones and against the Red Force.

“I’m not going to stay here while you are all out there, fighting against them!” D.O glared up at Suho. “If there’s anything I can do to help with the fight, I should be out there with you.”

Suho rubbed a hand down his face in frustration, “It’s not that I don’t want you out there, it’s just that I’m trying to prevent something happening to you like it did with Xiumin. We’re already a step ahead of them by just having you.” He pointed towards the ceiling above them, “Once Lay gets here, we’ll fight together then.”

D.O hated that statement. It had taken them so long to reach Earth, just him and Xiumin, it could take forever for Lay to finally reach the planet. It might even be too late by the time the healer got there. Something could end up happening to any of them before the time came for them all to fight together on the battlefield.

It could even be something that he could’ve helped prevent.

Suho’s sigh brought him out of his thoughts, “Just stay here. Just for this fight, okay? Since it’s only been a week since Xiumin’s clone emerged, okay?”

D.O could follow through with that, at least for Suho’s sake. He nodded, and watched the red head walk away. He listened to the footsteps throughout the base as they all slowly dispersed, with his strength connecting him to the Earth, vibrations were child’s play to pick up on.

He waited for the sounds of explosions to go off before he finally stood up, slipped on his jacket, and easily left out the back of the base. His intentions were just to observe the battle for now, so that Suho wouldn’t be pissed off at him for disobeying his orders, and if he did step in where he needed, then so be it. But for now, he wanted to observe the enemy.

The first battle that he and Xiumin joined them on the battlefield, he knew that it took X-ËXØ by surprise. They did fair easy with that fight, he’d faced off against Båekhyün at first before a very interested Chānyeøl stepped forward. The pink haired clone practically threw the blonde to the side for a chance to face off against D.O. Something that surprised the earth-wielder and sparked an interest.

There was something about those multicolored eyes that drew D.O in. Like a moth to a flame. Quite literally.

That battle resulted in a messy tie between the two, D.O suffered multiple burns to his arms and legs while Chānyeøl was sporting a busted lip, his arm bent in an awkward position, and a blow to his stomach that had the clone holding himself up the best he could. But once the leader of X-ËXØ called for his group to fall back, the grin on the pink haired male’s face directed right at D.O was all that he could think about until that next fight.

Despite his injuries, Chānyeøl  grinned at him like he hadn’t just been beaten. That grin haunted and excited him.

The second fight, Chānyeøl sought out D.O solely. The rest of the group were more interested in getting their hands on Xiumin, and they did with a mere strike of dumb luck. Xiumin had proven how strong he was in the first battle while D.O merely fought with fists and kicks. It wasn’t obvious that he had amplified his punches and kicks with his ability. The only one that wore his strength was Chānyeøl after that first battle.

It seemed like that sparked something Chānyeøl the same way that Chānyeøl sparked something in D.O.

However the second fight, it was away from the battleground, Chānyeøl had chased him away from the others. It was something that D.O wondered, vaguely, if it was a trap, but it ended up just being another exciting fight. Much like D.O had used his ability combined with his kicks and punches, Chānyeøl did the same with his blows, flames licked D.O’s skin with each punch or kick.

It hurt, it burned, but it left an anticipation in the pit of D.O’s stomach. Chānyeøl’s grinning, sharp teeth was all he saw and that one piercing blue eye that glowed with the flames.

D.O stared down at where the chaos was erupting, the side of a building was on fire, rubble fallen on the streets. He could hear the sizzling of electricity in the air before he saw the streak hit one of the areas of the city. He couldn’t tell if it was Chen or his clone, but it struck something. There were shouts and more explosions. He moved to a different location to try and get a better sight of the fight.

Crouching down on the rooftop of the nearby building, he finally spotted two red heads going at each other with wave upon wave of water, there was ice in the mixture and he saw Xiumin fighting against the new clone of himself. He caught the flashes of yellow from the suit of Sehun’s clone and could feel the breeze from there of the two battling. There were flashes of Kai and then blurs of two blondes fencing. He had yet to catch a glimpse of a pink haired giant, other than Chanyeol, but his hair was always concealed by his beret.

“You’re not going to join the fight this time?” That deep voice shocked him, causing him to tumble over onto his back, eyes wide when he saw the missing pink haired giant above him, that grin across his face with a raised eyebrow.

D.O quickly pushed himself up, dusting off his pants, he cleared his throat, “I was told to stay at the base.”

Chānyeøl tsked, “Your leader getting scared of you  returning with burns?”

The shorter male shook his head, looking up at the taller male, those eyes could pierce him where he stood, “No, he didn’t want a repeat of what happened with Xiumin.”

“I can understand that,” Chānyeøl shrugged, taking a step closer to him. “Your leader wanted you to stay away for protection and mine keeps hounding me to go ahead and capture you.” By the time he said that, those lips quirked upwards, the gleam of those white teeth on display. Sharp and fierce. Like an animal ready to bite.

That statement did have D.O pausing for a moment, almost wanting to tremble when that pale blue eye winked at him. But there was also something else that gave him pause by Chānyeøl  saying that his leader keeps pestering him about capturing D.O. And yet all the fights the two have had, none of them felt like he was escaping the enemy’s claws. If anything, it was just an exhilarating fight.

A fight that left D.O hurting, but a good hurting.

“Is that why you’re here, looking for me, instead of down there, fighting against your original?” D.O questioned, eyebrow raised.

Chānyeøl hummed, glancing down at the battle below, “I admit that I was looking for you, but not for your capture.” He turned back to D.O, taking another step towards him, “If you’re not down there, who will I fight?”

D.O’s head tilted to the side, taking a step back without really thinking about it, “Wouldn’t you just fight Chanyeol? Other than the last few fights, you’ve fought against him all along, haven’t you?”

“Hmm, I have, and that would be the logical opponent that I would go after, but Chanyeol doesn’t fight like you do,” Chānyeøl replied, continuing to step forward, “Your punches leave me aching for days, your kicks, it takes a few shots of the serum in the labs to be able to feel right, for me to be able to function.” He glanced at the battle below before his eyes flickered back to D.O’s, narrowing, “It’s addicting."

D.O couldn’t disagree with those sentiments, there was something addicting to the blows that he faced against the pink haired male in front of him. The one backing him into a corner. When he hit the wall behind himself, he wondered if this was the clone’s goal from the start. Get him cornered.

He was expecting a punch or kick or something from the taller male but he wasn’t expecting the gentle hand against his face, it made him flinch at first. He stilled when he looked back up at those eyes watching him, the teeth from that grin was gone, but there was still a smirk on those lips. D.O couldn’t read the expression on Chānyeøl’s face though, those multicolored eyes were searching his and his were searching back but he couldn’t read that expression.

Then with that hand on his face, the thumb caressed his cheekbone, and D.O saw something in those eyes soften.

D.O gulped, feeling those lips move over the shell of his ear, his hand reached up to close over Chānyeøl’s wrist, the one that lead to the hand on his cheek, “We’ll draw attention if we fight this time… Suho won’t be happy with me.”

“So we’ll find another way to fight,” Chānyeøl chuckled, leaning back to come mere centimeters in front of D.O’s face, those brown eyes looking up at his multicolored ones. With his hand still on the side of his face, he easily brought D.O’s lips to meet his.

Unlike the hard blows against his stomach, his face, and his back, D.O’s lips were soft, like silk. Those beautiful, plush lips were so soft, softer than anything Chānyeøl was ever used to. They’d captivated him before, the shape, the plumpness, they’d clung to Chānyeøl’s dreams the nights after their fights. He knew that he had to know what they felt like.

Against his calloused hand, that skin was soft. Chānyeøl had burnt it countless times with his punches and kicks after that first battle, and yet D.O’s skin was still so smooth against his touch. He pulled back to see those eyes open to meet his gaze, those brown eyes flickered from Chānyeøl’s gaze to Chānyeøl’s lips.

He saw D.O’s throat move as he heard the gulp, “I… I don’t have much experience with this… fighting.”

Chānyeøl’s thumb caressed his cheekbone again, a humored smile overtaking his lips, “I only know so much thanks to Kāi and Sehůn. I’ve seen those two do stuff, never tried it till now.”

D.O laughed softly, a sound that Chānyeøl knew he’d dream about tonight, “I guess I’ll have to rely on you for the steps.”

A question that Chānyeøl never thought would pass his lips towards any members of EXO was already rolling off his tongue, “Do you trust me?”

He saw the hesitance in those brown eyes, but then those lips curled up into a smile, parting to show his teeth. His lips looked like a heart. “Against my better judgement… I do.”

“I won’t disappoint then,” Chānyeøl left no room for a reply as he covered those lips again.

This time, it wasn’t as soft, he didn’t dare try anything that he saw Kāi and Sehůn do… yet. It could come to that later. The teeth, the tongue in places, the marks. For now, he just wanted to feel those lips against his as long as he could. He’ll face the consequences later for a failed mission, yet again, but for now, D.O was his and his alone.

The grip on his jacket had his thoughts returning to those lips, he felt the tug from D.O as a small moan came from either himself or the smaller male. He didn’t know who as he licked at that bottom lip, pressing his tongue against the seam of those lips, wanting entrance. D.O surprised him when he easily allowed him access and he didn’t waste the opportunity, his tongue slipped into that mouth and explored every inch, drawing deep sounds that rattled the chest that was pressed against his now.

Their bodies were flush against one another, the result of D.O’s insistent tugging.

Chānyeøl pulled back before making his next move, much to D.O’s displeasure, if the whine falling from his lips was any indication. Something that left Chānyeøl smirking at, “I just wanted to clarify, by the sounds of the battle below, do you want the full experience? Or should we… wait until the next battle?”

D.O glanced towards the direction where the sounds of shouting and explosions had grown quieter. That meant that the battle between the two sides was coming to an end. He wondered what the damage would be for his group this time.

Glancing back up at Chānyeøl though, his eyes lingered on those glistening lips, twitching to curl upwards, then they rose higher to those multicolored eyes. He did want the full experience, especially after the way his stomach was doing somersaults when that tongue moved against his own, and the the way that Chānyeøl’s hand still cradled his face, thumb brushing against his skin ever so often. God, he wanted to know what came next. Whatever Chānyeøl had learned from his comrades.

But he also didn’t want to face Suho’s anger and disappointment by finding out that D.O had disobeyed his command of staying at the base.

“N-Next battle… yeah?” D.O replied, seeing the way that Chānyeøl’s lips rose at that. “Suho will probably forbid me from joining the next fight again, but you’ll find me here.”

Chānyeøl grinned, the darkness in those eyes had D.O gulping again, “I’ll look forward to it then.” He stole one more kiss before pulling away completely, something that displeased D.O from the lack of warmth of that hand on his cheek now. “Don’t get caught before then, okay?”

D.O chuckled, “You sure I’m not already caught?”

The laugh that left Chānyeøl’s lips caused D.O’s smile to widen, “You’re in good hands with me, like I said. I’ll blow your mind next battle.” With that, he stepped up to the side of the building and descended.

That was a promise that D.O hoped the pink haired clone kept. He stepped up to where Chānyeøl jumped from and watched as the pink haired male headed towards where the chaos was dying down now. He could still see flashes of red from the leaders and a few others but by the way the movements had slowed down, he could tell that they were drawing to an end.

He quickly retreated back to the base where he entered his room and stayed until he heard movements from his team coming back.

As he lied there in his bed, staring up at the ceiling, his fingers traced over his bottom lip, thought of Chānyeøl’s lips still fresh in his mind.

Notes:

I just wanted Chānyeøl and D.O.
