starstruck ~ getou suguru / gojo satoru

Summary:

“Suguruuuu :))” he chimed as he began to get closer to him. “Look at the sky, c’mon! As much as I understand why you’d rather look at me all night, we came out here to see the stars, remember?”

Notes:

I havent seen many satosugu fics set in okinawa, especially non-angsty ones.
Here's a fic I started a while ago, but decided to finish and post :))

Work Text:

“Psst.. Suguru”

The two boys had been in Okinawa on a mission for a couple days now. Tomorrow was supposed to be a day off for the group to enjoy themselves, hence Gojo’s inability to sleep.

“Let's go for a walk!” Gojo jostled Geto’s half asleep body in anticipation. He was super hyped to be able to let loose for a day after the stress they’ve been under. The star plasma vessel is safe, and they want her to have the time of her life before she has to inevitably meet her demise.

Geto stirred beneath him as he turned his head and opened his eyes to glare at the white haired man. “Gojo I swear to god you better have a good reason for waking me up at–” he rolls over to check the time on his phone– “1:35 am?? Really Gojo?? The hotel better be on fire or something.”

Gojo flashed him a smile as he grabbed both of the darker haired man’s hands and pulled him into a sitting position.

“Let’s go for a walk, just the two of us! Apparently the sky is beautiful here at night, and I wanna hear the ocean!”

Hearing this, Geto tried to roll back over to go back to sleep, but Gojo forcibly removed him from the comfort of his bed. He slumped over on Gojo’s shoulder as he began to haphazardly drag the sleepy man out of the room.

As Gojo and Geto walked out of the empty hotel lobby, the ocean breeze helped to wake up the latter, and only invigorated the former even more. Hand in hand, Gojo began to quicken his pace, dragging the two of them to the open street. The lights and the chatter amongst others stimulated their brains as they made their way to nowhere in particular.

There was no doubt that the two of them were close. Gojo and Geto, Satoru and Suguru. The strong and the strongest, Tokyo Metropolitan’s nightmare duo. The two of them fought side by side nearly every day, and had an unshakable bond. Geto was the only person Gojo felt he could really be himself around, and Geto welcomed Gojo’s personality, albeit reluctantly.

The two boys traipsed along the winding roads, talking amongst themselves. Coming across a small corner store, they went in for some snacks and a drink. The fluorescent light of the ‘open’ sign reflected across their faces, painting them in a reddish blue hue. Bags in hand, they continued their journey down to the beach, but not without stopping at a hideously blue bucket hat laying in the middle of the road. Gojo reached down to pick it up and promptly placed it on Geto’s head.

“You look good in blue, Suguru” the white haired boy teased at the aforementioned boy, growing more flustered by the second.

“Satoru you can’t just do shit like that, you don’t know where it’s been” Geto griped as he removed the hat and wrangled Gojo down to stuff the bucket hat onto his head. “There. Now you have lice too.” The bucket hat remained abandoned on a bench for the rest of the night, but not before Gojo snapped a photo of him sneaking the hat onto Geto’s head after he let his guard down.

“We’re here!!” Gojo exclaimed at the sound of crashing waves and the increase of sand on the road. He began to run down towards the sandy expanse with Geto following leisurely behind. Eventually the two of them had made it to a sandy alcove further away from the quiet city life. “Look at the sky, Suguru! Look at all the stars! It’s been a while since we’ve been able to see this many, huh?” Geto stole a glance towards Gojo, whose eyes had become illuminated tenfold due to the lightshow in the sky. It was a breathtaking sight really, the way the starshine reflected off of his deep, sky blue irises and into the depths of his soul.

Gojo glanced over in his direction, eyes lighting up even more than they already were. “Whatcha starin at Suguru?” he quipped with a smile as he turned to face the boy completely.

“Your eyes. I didn’t think they could get any more blinding, but here we are” he retorted. The smile wiped across Gojo’s face didn’t disappear, in fact it just grew bigger with the knowledge that the other man was, in fact, staring very intently into his eyes when he thinks he’s not paying attention. He is. He sees everything. Just like how he could see Geto’s eyes wandering across his features over the course of the night, or how his hands would linger just longer than normal in his vicinity. Gojo didn’t relinquish his infinity for just anyone, but he made an exception for the man who had stolen his heart.

“Suguruuuu :))” he chimed as he began to get closer to him. “Look at the sky, c’mon! As much as I understand why you’d rather look at me all night, we came out here to see the stars, remember?”

Geto puffed out a sigh as he turned his head upwards to immerse himself into the starry night. Not even moments later, he felt a pair of lips push into the side of his cheek. He whipped his head downwards to catch the eyes of a madly grinning Gojo.

“Sorry” he stated with a smirk, not at all sorry. There was a pause of silence between the two of them until they met in the middle and found each other’s lips. Their hands found respective spots on the other’s body as they sat there in silence for a few moments, taking in the shared warmth between the two of them. They didn’t know how long they sat there with each other, nor did they care. It was only the two of them in their own little world, and they wouldn’t want it any other way.

~bonus~

“Where are those idiots, we’ve been waiting out here for like twenty minutes. They agreed to meet in the lobby at 9:30, we’re gonna miss the aquarium at this rate” Nanami griped to Yu while sitting on the couch in the lobby. “I’m gonna go get them, I’m sick of this”.

And so off Nanami went, walking through the corridors until he ended in front of Gojo and Geto’s shared room. He rattled the doorknob and found the door to be unlocked. He pushed it open to find the two boys sprawled out on the hotel couch, their two respective beds left abandoned. He took note of the sand scattered all across the floor, and the convenience store bags strewn across Gojo’s bed. They’re never gonna hear the end of this.
