Chapter Text

It had been a week since Wally's 27th birthday. Audrey had gone out of her way to make him happy. She had made all his favourite foods, dressed up in his favourite sexy outfits and indulged all his favourite kinks and pleasures. And still, they were just a couple living together. 8 years she had given him. Some of her friends were married, heck some even were expecting and a lesbian friend Kara had become a parent with her much older wife Lena. And still Wally had not made a move towards making them truly official. It made her want to tear her hair out. Perigree’s Ice Cream Parlour had become a franchise. She was glad there was now one in Central City. It would be nice to have something sweet to get mind off Wally’s lack of commitment.

She chose to buy Mango Sorbet and Boysenberry Ripple, two of her all time favs. So absorbed was she in her ice cream, that she almost knocked into a heavily pregnant woman. Thankfully the young lady managed to avoid being struck by Audrey. “Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! I wasn’t paying attention, are you ok?” “Hey, it’s cool. You missed me, which in itself, is nothing short of a miracle!” Audrey couldn’t help but giggle at the pregnant stranger. She sure was funny…and familiar. She was sure that she had seen this girl before. “Well thanks for understanding. I’m Audrey.” “Hi Audrey, I’m Artemis.” Artemis, she knew that strange name. An exceedingly sexy ex co-worker of Wally’s went by that name. It was her, Audrey was sure of it. And pregnant now, the lucky cow. “Babe! I leave you alone for 5 minutes and you are chatting with some other girl?” came a voice behind them.

The pregnant lady laughed and embraced the stranger. She was a dark haired woman with piercing blue eyes. “Please Zee. When I have a woman like you waiting for me, why do I need anyone else?” Audrey couldn’t help, but find their interactions a little strange. They were certainly affectionate with each other, hugging and giving each other eskimo kisses. Then Audrey felt the need to kill Wally. Artemis and her friend Zee were liplocking as if tomorrow would never come. Audrey also noticed rings in each of their forefingers. Wally failed to mention his sexy co-worker Artemis was a lesbian. And dating…married to another. “Audrey, I want you to meet my wife Zatanna. Z, my love, this is Audrey who helped me avoid a collision!” “Lovely to meet you and again sorry for not paying attention.” “Wait aren’t you Audrey, Wally’s significant other?” Artemis looked at her wife in confusion. “Z, babe. Who’s Wally?” “Wally West, Barry Allen’s nephew.” “Oh, Barry’s nephew! Yeah he worked with us for a while, huh.” Audrey was nonplussed. The girl who Wally had made of her jealous was, was both a lesbian and didn’t even remember him!

"Yes, he said he worked with you at the security firm." "Yeah, I'm on leave from that now....for obvious reasons!" Zatanna pulled her pregnant wife in for a kiss to her neck. Artemis practically glowed with delight. Audrey tried to contain her bitterness. It was really upsetting. They gestured for Audrey to join them, once their embrace had ended. Audrey could not see how she could refuse and agreed. "So how is Wilbur?" "Arty, his name is Wally. Don't be rude!" exclaimed Zatanna, gently squeezing her wife's sides. Artemis squealed with ticklishness. Audrey forced herself not to flush. Wally loved to tickle her half to death too. She bit her lip a little as her bottom felt sore. Another reminder of how much she had given to Wally. "Sorry for that Audrey. Now Artemis, my love, what is Audrey's boyfriend's name?" she asked, keeping her hands close to Artemis' sides. "Wally! Wally! Please don't tickle me, Zee!" Zatanna just grinned and kissed her again. Audrey's rear was really tender now. This was so unfair!

"AH, Zatanna et Artemis! Vous est la, enfin! Vraiment, c'est ridicule. Totallement Ridicule!" A tall blonde woman walked towards them, holding hands with an even taller raven haired woman....whose tanned skin looked almost orange. "Hello Chloe, Sala!" responded Zatanna. "And who isss thees?" asked the blonde woman with a snooty, self-centered voice. Audrey disliked her instantly. "Chloe, meet Audrey, Audrey Spears!" "Not one of that 'Breetney's peuple; j'espere!" declared Chloe, the French brat. The other woman Sala pulled Chloe into a long kiss. Chloe seemed to relax instantly and leapt into Sala's arms. Sala calmly sat next to Audrey, still holding Chloe and declared "Honoured to meet you, Audrey." It was hard to place her accent. "Was she Spanish? Iranian? Portuguese?" Regardless Audrey shook the orange skinned woman's hand and the grip was like iron.

"So Audrey, ‘ow do you connait Artemis et Zatanna? Est-ce que tu travail avec nous maintenant?" Audrey couldn't speak French. She had no idea what the French woman was trying to stay. "My beloved asks if you know Artemis and Zatanna from work?" Audrey shook her head, glad of Sala's translation. "She is dating Wally West." explained Zatanna. "Le neveu de Barry Allen?" 'Yes, Chloe, Barry's nephew." She whispered something to Zatanna, which only infuriated Audrey more. "So Audrey, tell us how Wally is doing? We haven't seen him for a while and Chloe and Sala were not our French contacts at that time."

”I ‘ave been told bie M’ganne that Wallee is pas polit du tous!” “I am sure my love, that Wally is quite polite.” “Il est un garcon! Tous les garcons sont des piece de meurdes comme mon stupid cousin Adrien et cette petit con mon frere Francois…’ Calme toi, mon cherie.’ Sala pulled the blonde in for a kiss. Audrey noticed engagement rings on each of their hands. “Are all of his friend engaged, married or pregnant?” wondered Audrey, annoyed. As if on queue, a redheaded woman, a black haired man and a toddler and a baby made an appearance. The four women waved them over. “Hello Jo. How are you?” Zatanna asked the little toddler. “I am well.” Audrey could not help but stare. The three year old boy said it with such maturity, it floored her.

”Bonjour mes tantes. And hello to all.” The child continued. “Bonjour, petit neveu. Voice un bon garcon qui n’est pas un…” Whatever she was saying was cut off with a kiss. Audrey felt so out of place. She was surrounded by married & engaged couples. Some of them even had small children. Meanwhile she and her boyfriend had not even moved past the living together stage. “Greeting, my lady. I am Joseph Kent-Morse, son of Connor and Megan Kent-Morse and older brother to Lara. Might I please enquire as to your name?” Audrey was stunned at this little boy. He spoke like an older man, not like a preschooler. H-Hello, Joseph. I am Audrey. Audrey Spears.” she stammered, taking the boy’s hands. She stiffened as they shook, the boy’s grip was even stronger than Sala’s. “A delight to meet you, Miss Spears. Apologies, you wouldn’t be the consort of Wally West, my godfather, would you?” Wally’s godson. Wally was a godfather, he had literally never told her this. “I am. You can call me Audrey, Joseph.” “I am deeply grateful for this, Audrey.” “Jo, since she is Wally’s special friend, please call her Aunt Audrey. Apologies, we are very big on manners.” apologised the boy’s mother Megan. Audrey remembered her now, she looked not much older than when they first met. Neither did her husband Connor.

”It’s no problem.” replied Audrey. Special friend. Yes, that was all she was. Not fiancee, wife or soul mate. Just special friend. “Aunt Audrey, perhaps you should accompany me to the lavatory.” suggested Joseph. “Jo! Why would you…” “

” interrupted the child in a strange language. Czech maybe? Or Polish? Before anyone could respond, the boy had taken her hand and nodded to everyone as he practically dragged her to the family rooms. Audrey could not believe how strong he was nor what he was doing. He entered quickly and pulled her into an open stall. “Aunt Audrey, your hand is glowing.” Audrey stared at the boy for a moment before looking down. Her eyes felt like bulging out of their sockets. Her left hand was glowing a white light. “W-what?” “Aunt Audrey, please stay calm.”
