Hug Therapy

Summary:

Third Year Izuku has some experience when it comes to helping villains. His next challenge? Lady Nagant

Work Text:

The lights flickered gently in the empty classroom as both occupants, a green haired U.A. third year and a Pro Heroine-Turned-Villainess stared each other down.

Third year Izuku sat back in his chair, arms crossed as he looked at his 'patient', Lady Nagant, who was deadpanning at him, her arms resting on her crossed legs as she focused more on her multicolored hair rather than him.

“Look, I get it. I’m closed off, but I'm fine.”  She groaned and he raised a brow.

“You can’t fool me, Miss Nagant. I lied about how ‘fine’ I was for years, I know when someone isn’t.” He informed her and leaned forward, ignoring it as she scoffed and rolled her eyes.

What was he doing? Well, a therapy session of course. Because, unlike in a certain other timeline, this one had been peaceful. There had been no League of Villains, only two streamers with a dangerous hobby Izuku had helped find better jobs and a blood sucker Izuku had gotten admitted to a mental hospital and put on proper medication to help heal her mind and actually feed her to the correct amount.

He’d still taken down the Yakuza, as normal and saved Eri. And many other incidents that may have never occurred but right now he was facing a challenge three years in the making. Three years of chasing, of debating and of insisting he could help that had finally gotten them to this point.

Izuku, AKA pro hero and villain reformer Deku and Lady Nagant sat in an empty classroom across from one another, staring one another down.

It was after another minute of this stare down the woman finally groaned again and leaned back.

“Ugh, what do you want me to say?” She demanded with a grunt. “I’m sorry? I was wrong? I’m a murdering little shit, what do you want?”

“Well, none of that, actually.” He hummed, leaning forward. “Because you’re not wrong for having feelings or opinions. And you’re not wrong for hating what the commission did to you. It was wrong and it’s mostly thanks to All Might helping me put pressure on them that I even got them to allow this session. So by all means, scream from the rooftops how much you hate them, just let it out, all the emotions.”

“That’s not what I do with them.” She grumbled and Izuku closed his eyes gently, letting out a long sigh before setting down his notebook and standing up, walking over to her and sitting in her lap suddenly, making her sputter. “W-What are you doing?!”

“Hug Therapy.” He told her simply as he took his hands and gently wrapped them around her waist, a small smile coming onto his face.

“Hug- What?”

“Hug therapy.” He told her simply, in a gentle voice. “Just hold on and think, and let it all out. Just squeeze whenever you feel something bad.”

There was another scoff, and several moments of silence past… then he felt the gentle shaking and the first squeeze. Then more, a few moments later, before a head rested on his shoulder and the shaking became more violent as quiet sobs escaped Lady Nagant.

“Shh, it's okay.” He murmured softly, letting her squeeze tighter. “Just let it all out…”

And so, she did… And Therapy seemed to become much easier from that point onwards.
