Work Text:
There were two different UA high schools, of that there could be no doubt. The first was the famous hero school, and then there was the normal one; comprised of the Support, Business, and General Studies courses.
The hero course was the highly-publicized heart of UA, with cutthroat competition between the knothead alphas who made up a majority of the course.
Suzuki Hana went to the normal school, however; and she loved it. There was gossip, and parties, and the normal high school Alpha/Beta/Omega drama. Hana had a locker, and friends she sat with at lunch, and she still had to suffer through classes. Sometimes it was easy to forget why UA was so famous in the first place.
Hana was a support course student and aspiring hero costumer. For her entrance exam portfolio, she had submitted several design ideas to fit her simulated hero, and had even gone above and beyond and made a mock costume that had secured her enrollment. Under the careful watch of beta teacher and support hero Power Loader a.k.a. Majima-sensei, each support student developed their skills in areas they were interested in while also taking a slew of STEM classes that aided their work.
“Hey, Hana! Over here!” She heard Mei (a beta) calling to her from their usual cafeteria table.
The support students had gotten close, sharing most of their classes and all of their development time in the same space.
Hana took a seat between her and Asami, an alpha who focused on support items with major software components. Asami was really nice and so pretty, her iridescent skin and hair always drawing attention. If Hana was into women, she definitely would have wanted Asami to court her.
Hana was an omega, one of only a handful in the entire school. While most hero students were alphas, with a few betas and the rare omega thrown in, the Support, Gen. Ed, and Business courses saw a more normal mixture of students of all genders. Hana was able to socialize just fine. She also occasionally sat with her omega friends at lunch, who came from all courses and bonded over their shared gender and experiences.
“Hey guys! I’m so jealous of you, Mei, that applied mechanics test was probably a breeze for you!” Hana said, plopping her tray filled with soba and fresh fruit down across from her friends.
“I know, right?” Asami said, “There was so much stuff about combustion engines and hydraulic pressure and compressors and converters that we’d never had to use before; it was insane! I was up so late last night studying.”
The alpha looked tired, upon closer inspection. Her normally bright eyes were a bit glassy and had dark circles under them. (As dark as they could be considering she looked like a walking pearl or disco ball or something) Hana could also pick up on how stale her scent was, another sign of exhaustion.
The pink-haired girl next to Asami snickered.
“What can I say, I’m just the best mamma in the world for my babies!” She replied.
Mei was great, Hana thought, but she really didn’t have an off switch. The beta tended to hyper-fixate on support items and she and Asami would have to drag her to the train station home at the end of the day, even though the support lab was open later and all the students tended to stay at least an hour after school had officially let out anyways. Mei would seriously stay there all night if she was allowed to.
“They really are impressive, Mei. That jetpack you were working on was really coming together before it blew up!” Asami said encouragingly.
Really, there had been so many mishaps in the lab that Majima-sensei had bought a whiteboard for the front wall on the observation deck. Half of it read ‘ __ DAYS SINCE LAST INCIDENT’ and the other half was a running tally of explosions. It used to be sorted by student, but had since changed to a class tally, seeing as Mei was the cause of most of them.
“Just you wait! I want to come up with boots that do kind of the same thing! Will you help me with wearability, Hana?” The pink-locked girl asked.
Hana nodded, midway through chewing a chunk of summer melon.
“Send your basic schematics to my tablet and I can take a look and give you pointers, and maybe a memory foam insole.”
Hana had become the unofficial consultant on support items that had to be worn, or that were somehow part of a visible costume. She couldn’t count the number of times she’d had to make holsters and adjustable straps to house someone’s freeze-gun, or a pair of glasses to which someone could add whatever nanotech they were working on.
“Ooooh speaking of which, Hana… Do you think you could help me with a headset I’m working on after school today? I need ear molds and you’d know which material to use and where the fake ears are. I’ll buy you Starbucks after?” Asami asked.
Hana snorted.
“Yeah, you got it, you don’t need to ask so politely. But I will be taking that Starbucks. I think all I need to do after school is fabricate a few samples anyway so I should be free while those are printing. What’s the headset going to do?”
Asami lit up as she began to explain her idea to put her fledgling AI into the headset, which could also connect to devices via a more secure version of Bluetooth, it seemed.
The sports festival came and went, and while Hana herself didn’t participate in the tournament that the other students did, she had managed to book a slot to show off her costume designs and other support items she’d made during the half-time events. It had been stressful, but rewarding as she was able to make contacts with a few companies and book a summer internship.
“Okay Class G!” Majima-sensei said one afternoon, pushing the button that changed the lights in the room to get everyone’s attention.
The sudden change in lighting to a strong blue color snapped everyone out of their work, the sounds of drilling and welding and sewing coming to a halt.
Power Loader really did know his students well, however, and he waited an extra few seconds.
The explosion came from one of Mei’s ‘babies’, and debris few everywhere. Hana was again thankful for the rule that required everyone to wear eye protection at all times.
“So, people, here’s what going on: We’ve reached a point in the year where you all are capable of making functional support items that mostly make it through testing. The hero students have also trained enough to identify which aspects of their equipment need to change.
“Tomorrow morning, Class A will be coming in with their requests and ideas for changes. I’ve sent their roster to your tablets, along with information on their quirks and descriptions of their current gear from the support company who initially made their stuff. Your assignment tonight is to look over that information briefly so you’ll be able to better help them out tomorrow. Don’t be afraid to offer suggestions of your own and ask them questions!”
With that, Power Loader turned around and unceremoniously added another mark to the explosion tally on their whiteboard.
Class 1-A was buzzing with excited scents at the thought of updating their gear. They’d all been pushing themselves to the limit and learning more about their strengths and weaknesses in combat and during their internships, and now it was finally time to get the upgrades they all wanted. For the moment, the class was waiting around for Aizawa-sensei, who would take them to the support lab after their 15 minutes of morning homeroom, during which he’d elected to nap under his desk.
Uraraka was especially excited. She hadn’t been stoked about her initial costume design. It was far too tight and revealing for her taste, and there was no reason it had to be that way. She’d heard from Aizawa-sensei that one of the support students specialized almost exclusively in support garments and costumes, so Ochaco was excited to meet them.
She glanced around and made her way over to Deku, who was holding a notepad and scribbling furiously about improvements. Next to him was Iida, alpha, who was actually looking at his phone for once. Ochaco was not surprised by his plain black Otter case; it seemed fitting for the serious class rep. Uraraka herself was a beta, and Iida was quite a normal alpha with the typical scent and aggression. Deku was an alpha as well, if the class records were to be believed, but Uraraka had never smelled him before as the broccoli-head was consistently taking scent-blockers and using suppressant patches.
“What’cha doing guys?” She asked.
Deku looked up from his notes and blushed.
“Well, my old costume was kind of trashed during our training exercise with Kacchan, and I was able to get a temporary one from the support company for internships, but I need something more durable...”
Uraraka thought she could hear something along the lines of “and that isn’t caked in blood” but she chose not to pry into the Hosu incident.
“That sounds great! I’m trying to get a new costume as well! What about you, Iida?”
The class rep put down his phone and adjusted his glasses.
“I’m looking at Tensei’s old costume schematics and asking him if there was anything he found convenient in the field. Seeing as my costume was modeled after his, however, I don’t find myself needing any modifications.”
Uraraka nodded, and suddenly Aizawa-sensei was up and leading them to the support lab.
Hana was just settling in for the day and setting up her workspace. She’d ridden in with Mei on the train an hour earlier, but had been roped into testing three or four ‘babies’ at Gym Gamma. Hana, of course, had to perform a variety of physical tasks while Mei filmed and took notes. Thankfully, nothing had exploded, though the pieces all needed further modifications. Hana was a bit sweaty, and she’d had to stop by the restroom in a feeble attempt to freshen up.
She’d removed her blazer and tie and changed her socks to be more comfortable. Power Loader wasn’t strict on the uniform, seeing as most everyone in Support wore protective gear all day anyway. Hana tossed her hair into a ponytail, wiped her hands and the back of her neck with a cleansing wipe and judged herself to be presentable enough for the day. Luckily for her, omegas always smelled good, even after sweating.
She’d just managed to set up several idea boards and turn on her printer when the lab doors open and there stood all of 1-A and their surly-looking teacher.
Iida Tenya was feeling sort of neutral about today’s itinerary. He personally didn’t have any changes that needed to be made with any of his gear, though he was happy his classmates were getting the opportunity. And it would be interesting to see where the support students worked.
Tenya remembered the pushy, pink-haired beta from the Sports Festival and shuddered. What was her name? Hatsume. Mei Hatsume. He’d be avoiding her for certain.
Iida resigned himself to having to keep an eye on his oft-rowdy classmates when they arrived. Aizawa swiped a keycard and the glass doors slid open. Class 1-A crammed themselves into the noisy room.
They were greeted by a cheerful Pro Hero Power Loader, who was wearing protective gear. He waved and moved to push a button, which turned the lights blue and made all motion in the room cease. Class 1-A took time to observe their surroundings and found that they were on some sort of raised area, with stairs and a ramp leading down to the main lab, which was massive. Students were crowded at different workspaces, each looking to serve a different purpose.
Right behind Tenya was a whiteboard that read – alarmingly – ‘2 DAYS SINCE LAST INCIDENT’ and ‘EXPLOSION TALLY’ with an ungodly number of marks underneath it.
Power Loader then began addressing them once all was calm
“Hello 1-A! I’m Power Loader and I’m in charge of UA’s support course. You’re all here to use my students to your benefit, basically.”
His words garnered a few chuckles and the man smiled and turned to grab a bin.
“In here are safety glasses, which everyone in the lab has to wear at all times. I’ll- here- can you pass those around? Thanks, kid.” He said as Yaoyorozu took the bin from him and started distributing glasses, “Each of my students have their own areas of expertise, so you all can come up and tell me what you need and I’ll point you to someone who can help. If you need gadget-type items or if you just want to see what my guys have already made go on ahead and visit that group off to the left there by the giant, half-finished robot. Be careful of explosions, and you have all morning, I believe. Have fun kids!”
Tenya felt he looked ridiculous in double-glasses, but such was life as the resident role model. He followed after Bakugou, Kaminari and Jirou, who were headed over to the aforementioned gadget group.
Hana was pleasantly surprised by the students of Class 1-A. Three of them had made a beeline for her. She introduced herself to gravity girl, always-breaks-his-arms boy, and belly button laser and got to work. Uraraka and Aoyama were pretty easy to get a read on, and finally it was time to talk to the green-haired one, Midoriya.
“What would you like to change?”
The boy seemed nervous to speak, but then he launched himself into a rambling explanation of what his current costume was like. Hana surmised that the issue was the quality, rather than the style. She sent him off to get his current costume and began to supervise Aoyama and Uraraka, who were making vision boards.
Tenya was walking around, supervising his classmates and making sure they were being polite to their hosts. He’d even had to forcibly drag Mineta out from under a table where he was attempting to peek up an unsuspecting alpha’s skirt. After putting the grape boy in a pseudo time-out on the observation deck, Iida decided to head back to where Midoriya and Uraraka had gone to get their costumes upgraded. On the way, he actually passed Midoriya, who was on his was out of the room.
“Midoriya, hello.” Iida said as he greeted his friend.
“Oh, hey, Iida. I’m going to get my costume so Suzuki can re-make it. How are you?”
“I am well. Is everything going alright with your modifications?”
The green-haired boy blushed and rubbed the back of his neck.
“Well, I wish I wasn’t so nervous when I talked to her. She’s nice, don’t get me wrong! It’s just that I get so nervous around girls, and omegas. And she smells really nice. Not that I’m trying to be a perv or anything! Uh, anyway, yeah. Uraraka and Aoyama are still back there.”
Then the boy hurried off, blushing furiously.
Iida knew that Midoriya hadn’t socialized very much as a child, and that he had presented as an alpha later than was normal. They hadn’t encountered many omegas in the hero course, so Iida hadn’t really been able to see Midoriya get so nervous before? The alpha took a few more steps toward the costume area and stopped short.
OH, this was what he’d meant. Midoriya had mentioned that the girl’s name was Suzuki, but Iida hadn’t really paid attention. Her sweet, flowery scent hit him and Iida short-circuited. He’d never been particularly invested in courting or anything, seeing as his primary goal was to become the best hero he could be, but this stopped him in his tracks.
The girl in question had her hair up, with no blazer, tie, or long socks to speak of. Even the first couple buttons of her shirt were undone. She was casually holding a tablet covered in stickers and chatting with Uraraka. She looked relaxed, and beautiful, and her scent was everywhere.
The essence of gardenia, peach, and something fresh sent a rush of liquid fire and adrenaline coursing through him. It took Iida a second to realize what was happening to him, but he caught on soon enough. The class rep cursed under his breath for the first time since the Hosu incident, turned, and booked it as calmly as he could to the front of the room, where Aizawa was in his sleeping bag.
The man saw him coming.
“What’s up, problem child?” The alpha asked gruffly.
Iida felt his face heating up.
“Well, sir, it seems like a scent in here has triggered my rut, and I’ll need to be excused for today.”
“Go. Get home safe.”
Iida sighed in relief and left, stopping only to collect his things from the classroom. Midoriya was there, of course.
“Woah, Iida what happened?”
Iida didn’t meet his friend’s eyes as he summoned the family driver.
“It seems that an omega’s scent has triggered my rut. I find it most prudent to return home for the day.”
Tenya heard Midoriya’s gasp.
“Wait, Suzuki? You know what that means, right?”
“I’ll think about that at a later date.”
Shota Aizawa just wanted a more normal school year, please dear god. He’d thought that with the kids getting to focus more on their training and less on the League of Villains, they’d be able to see a traditional rest of the year.
Then his class rep became a problem child in Hosu and dragged Midoriya and Todoroki into it as well.
Iida seemed to be a good kid with a steady head on his shoulders, and then he was prepared to go off the rails and commit first-degree murder. His brother had been permanently injured, and to top it all off, the boy had just encountered his true mate for the first time in the support class.
“Majima, how many omegas do you have in here?” Shota asked.
Power Loader was currently tinkering with something or other at a table on the observation deck. The man raised his welding mask and removed his heavy gloves. His brow furrowed.
“Just Hana Suzuki in the back with the costume stuff. Why?”
Shota wanted to go back to sleep.
“She seems to have triggered my class rep’s rut; I just sent him home.”
The ginger’s eyes widened.
“She didn’t pick up on his scent, right? She’s not going into heat right now?”
“No, she’s still talking to my kids in the back. This means they’re true mates then, right?”
Majima nodded.
“Yeah. Should we be doing anything about this? I don’t want one of my best students to get hurt or taken advantage of.”
Shota shook his head.
“I think it’ll be fine. Iida seems to have some common sense, at least enough to not make a scene or pounce on her. We just need to keep an eye on them. When she smells his scent for the first time, she’ll go into heat and that’s not going to be pleasant to deal with.”
Tanaka, the Iida family driver, was used to picking up family members in less than stellar positions. The beta had been with the family since Tensei was little, and had seen both boys grow up to be fine young alphas.
“Woah, kid. What happened to you?” He asked, a little alarmed as his charge clambered into the back seat in a flood of pheromones with sweat dripping down his forehead.
“I seem to have encountered my true mate in the support lab today. I smelled her before she did me, so it’s safe to assume she has no idea.”
“Wow, that’s quite the day. Here’s a cool water bottle. Want any music?”
“Tensei’s playlist please.”
The rest of the ride was mostly quiet as the rock/rap music played in the back and Tenya tried to gain control over his heavy breaths and pheromones. It was mostly to no avail, and thankfully traffic was light and the Iida compound wasn’t far from the school.
“Take it easy, kid!” The driver called out as his charge hurriedly picked up his bag and stepped out of the car.
Tenya wasted no time in inputting the password for the gate into the pin pad and scanning his fingerprint. Once he’d passed through the main gate, the young alpha fumbled for his keys and sped over to his room.
Tensei was still in the hospital recovering from his run-in with Stain. His parents were working at the agency and switching shifts when they could visit him, so the house was empty. Tenya drained the rest of the water bottle he had been given and started stripping.
He was on rut suppressants, as were nearly all alphas in this day and age. He’d only had to deal with a few ruts before, one when he’d presented and one every year since. Without suppressants, alphas would experience ruts anywhere from four to six times a year or when triggered by an omega in heat.
If an alpha went into rut at the first scent of an omega, they were considered true mates. An omega would also go into heat at the first scent of their alpha. Normally it happened at the same time, but now Iida was the only one who knew about their connection. He hoped he wouldn’t have to meet the girl again in a school setting, but it probably couldn’t be helped
Tenya spent the next few hours locked in his room and thanking every god in existence that he had an attached bathroom, turning on his tv to a random American show as a distraction in between alleviating his rut symptoms the hard way. Tenya felt guilty for putting off assignments and skipping out on the school day, but ruts were the one time the usually diligent class rep allowed himself to take a real break from his responsibilities. Sometime during the night he fell into a fitful sleep, waking early the next morning to a text from Aizawa.
“Don’t force yourself to come in today. Feel better.”
Luckily it was a Friday, so the class rep could catch up on what he’d missed over the weekend and be prepared for class on Monday. Tenya threw on a pair of sweats and left his room that afternoon to make his way over to the kitchen. The worst of his rut was over, but he was still feeling hot and touchy, as was normal for the second day. A call stopped him in his tracks as Tenya pulled out his phone.
“Tensei? How are you feeling today?”
“They’re saying that the worst is over and I should be able to go home next week. But that’s not why I’m calling. Mom told me what happened. Apparently Tanaka told her.”
“Oh, yes. It seems I now know who my true mate is.” The teen said.
He’d forgotten his glasses in his room, but didn’t need them to pour himself a bowl of cereal and sit at the table.
“Wow, that’s really lucky. Most people don’t even have a true mate, let alone find them this early.”
“She doesn’t know; I left the room before she could catch my scent. I’m not sure if now is a good time to approach her.”
“That’s totally fair, little bro. You two will work things out eventually and it’s totally okay to wait to approach her. Most true mate relationships tend to move fast, and it’s fine not to be ready.” Tensei paused, and Tenya knew he wasn’t finished, “Are we going to talk about the shit that went down in Hosu?”
There it was.
The next morning, Hana made her way over to Asami, who was just getting ready to drag Hatsume to their math class with Ectoplasm.
“She’s been staring at those wires for twenty minutes. I think she shocked herself.” The alpha said upon smelling her friend.
“Well, it wouldn’t be the first time. We need to get her up somehow.” Hana replied.
“I’ll take left if you take right.” Asami whispered.
The two girls nodded at each other each grabbed an arm, shocking the girl into dropping her tools with a squawk. Asami kicked a workbench out of the way and together the girls started up the ramp to the observation deck.
“Noooooo! My baby is naked! Their organs are exposed for all the world to see! Let me go back you heathens!”
“Mei, we have to go to class now. Your baby will still be here later.” Hana said.
The girls passed Majima-sensei, who threw them a thumbs up and opened the door for them. Once they were out of the lab, Asami threw Mei over her shoulder as the girls ran to Ectoplasm’s classroom.
Support students were definitely considered the coolest among the ‘normal’ UA students. There were the famous scavenger hunts and the graduation trip to I-Island, for starters. They also had an adjusted schedule and only had to take one year of English and History and Hero General Studies, with no physical education requirement to speak of. The rest of the time that they didn’t spend in the lab, students could be found watching video lectures in a small lecture room. Power Loader was rumored to be the nicest teacher on campus, and he would take the students on ‘field trips’ to the kitchen so they could bake each other cakes on birthdays. To add to that, UA support classes were small. Not many people wanted to apply due to the common misconception that one already had to be a gadget genius to get in. That wasn’t exactly true, however.
To get into the support course, a student simply had to show dedication and a willingness to work. Their grades also had to be high enough in all of their classes that they could handle the advanced pacing of the whole curriculum, usually proved through a glowing teacher recommendation from middle school. Actually, many of Hana’s classmates had only basic engineering knowledge when they’d applied, and she herself had learned practically everything she knew about hero-grade fabrics from UA, not before.
Anyway, the support course was small, close-knit, and really, really cool to the rest of the student body. Excluding the hero course students, of course, who thought they were hot shit.
“Oh my god look at those support students.” Hana heard a second-year beta whisper to her friend.
Hana didn’t blame her; Mei being carried kicking and screaming over Asami’s shoulder was definitely not something one expected to see in the halls of such a prestigious institution.
“They’re hilarious.” The friend responded.
Asami snorted softly and sent Hana a look. Both girls giggled and Hana nodded politely at the other students.
The rest of the first-year support students had filtered into a small lecture room Ectoplasm used to teach them. They were such a small class that it didn’t really make sense to be in a classroom.
“Alright guys, today is an easy lesson and I’m not assigning homework. Let’s tackle these parabolas…”
Their next class was the combined English/History/Hero General Studies class taught by Present Mic. He was a favorite among the support students for his bubbly personality and engaging lectures.
Hana finished her costume re-designs for the three students that afternoon, and she didn’t have too many interactions with class 1-A after that. The omega really started to feel bad for the kids. Their summer training camp was attacked, the explosion boy was taken, they had to deal with All Might’s retirement and the Kamino incident.
Then everyone had been put in dorms.
The transition had been a welcome one on Hana’s part. Her mother Minako and her shared an apartment in Kamino ward that had been absolutely wrecked during the fight between All Might and All for One. Luckily, they had taken the weekend to have mother-daughter bonding at an omega-only spa in Okinawa. They’d had to stay with Hana’s grandparents in Osaka while Minako looked for another job. The hostess club she worked at had also been destroyed.
Majima-sensei had called Hana to ask for her grandparents’ address, and he turned up to talk about the new dorm policy the next day. Seeing as they were pretty much freeloading, Minako and Hana agreed, and the omega packed up her meager (literally the most basic change of clothes from a thrift store and her school bag) supplies and was ready to move into the dorms as soon as they opened.
The 1-G dorm was smaller than all the rest, nestled at the very end of the first-year row and thickly surrounded by trees. From what they had heard, the dorm layout was different from that of all the other classes, seeing as there were fewer rooms and only three stories. That meant that each room had its own full bathroom and Hana could not have been happier.
“Hey, Hana! I’m so happy you’re okay. I was so worried when I was watching the news coverage of Kamino.” Asami said, pulling the omega into a hug.
Hana had been the first to officially move in, seeing as she didn’t need any help in doing so. Everyone else was set to trickle in over the next couple of days.
“Yeah, I don’t know what would have happened if mom and I hadn’t been at that spa! It’s good to see you, Asami. Need any help unpacking?”
“You wanna help make the bed?” The iridescent alpha asked hopefully.
Hana smiled and nodded. 1-G also got to choose their rooms, so Hana, Asami and Mei had rooms close together on the third floor. The alpha’s room was a bit bare save for boxes and the bed, and Hana got to work putting the sheets, pillows, and comforter on while Asami started hanging up posters and putting toiletries away.
“Oh my god there’s a walk-in closet.” The alpha gasped.
“I know! Majima-sensei said that we get the fanciest rooms because we’re the smallest class. I was in the lab yesterday using the fabricators and sewing machines to try and replace some of my wardrobe and I barely filled a fifth of the space in there.”
“Do you think we could get permission to go shopping off-campus today? It’s only 10 right now; we have time.” Asami asked, her eyes sparkling green.
Asami’s quirk was called shimmer. It was a mutation quirk that turned her glimmering eyes and hair different colors depending on her mood. Her skin mainly stayed silvery, though.
“Sure, we can definitely ask Majima-sensei once he gets back from the staff meeting. We can finish your room while we wait!”
Asami’s room had a bit of a punk-rock theme, with purple bedding, a dark area rug, and neon lights for her wall along with posters for her favorite musical groups and her guitar. She was talking about what supplies she’d need to buy for her desk as the girls walked down the stairs and ran into Power Loader, fresh from his staff meeting.
“Oh, hey girls! I was just on my way to get us some groceries. Anything you want to add to that list?” He asked.
“Actually, Hana and I wanted to go out too. I want to put the finishing touches on my room and all her stuff was destroyed, so…”
Majima nodded.
“That sounds great! Need a ride? I can drop you guys off somewhere and pick you up? Actually, we need small appliances for the kitchen, too. Could I tag along? I’d leave you guys alone to shop if you want.”
Hana and Asami traded a look and smiled.
“That sounds great, sensei! Let me grab my bag.” Hana said.
Higari Majima was one of the nicest teachers at UA. He was on the younger side and cared for his students like they were siblings. In the support lab and doing hero work he’d normally wear his self-designed yellow mask, but underneath that he was your average, slightly attractive ginger. He also wore aviator sunglasses and a sports jacket as the three set off in Majima’s car to a home goods store. He went off looking for a coffee maker, toaster, and other necessities, while Hana and Asami went to the bedroom stuff. Hana’s mother made a decent amount of money, and they’d also gotten a hefty insurance payout as well as government check for their house being destroyed, so Hana didn’t have to worry too much about a budget.
“I don’t know what color scheme I want for my room.” Hana said softly as she and Asami each pushed a cart around.
“Oooh you could get some of those lights that change color and go kinda neutral?’ The alpha responded.
Hana hummed in the affirmative and picked out a white and grey checked comforter and the matching twin sheets, as well a spare set and pillows.
“I need to replace all my nesting blankets too. Shit. I kinda hate this,” Hana said, “Oooh that’s a pretty desk organizer you picked.”
“I know, right? And you’re totally fine not liking to replace all your stuff because your house got blown to bits. Nests are really personal for an omega, right?”
“Yeah. And normally it takes a while to curate the perfect supplies. And all my old stuffies are gone. Wait do you think that’s a cute blanket? They have it in six colors.”
Asami nodded and giggled as her friend felt up every blanket she could and eventually decided on four of them. The omega also chose a neon moon and cloud wall light, a cute table light that looked like some sort of animal, and a plug-in light, as well as a few stings of color-changing LEDs.
“I want to see if I can make one of those star projectors too.” The omega said, causing her friend’s eyes to widen.
“Damn, girl. This seems a bit overboard.” Asami said with a smile, jokingly of course.
Then the girls came to the stuffies, and Hana picked out a large plush bunny, a slightly smaller dinosaur, and a couple flower and strawberry cushions that also doubled as stuffies? Asami didn’t know anything about Hana’s nesting habits, so she just let the omega decide before the girls picked up a rug, desk supplies, stationery, and bathroom organizers as well as toiletries.
They then met up with Majima-sensei, who was puzzling over pots and pans.
“I don’t cook much, obviously.” The ginger chuckled as the girls started pointing things out, “And don’t worry about the price, UA gave me a really big budget for this stuff.”
The girls helped out and made sure to take care of cookware while their teacher went off to find a blender and came back with a big one and a fancy café-style coffeemaker.
“I want to get into fun coffee again, what do you guys think?” He asked.
“Yeah, that looks great! Oh, speaking of which we need a teapot. And mugs, and a kettle, and dishes, and cutlery.” Asami said.
“Ugh. We already have a ton of stuff here. Let’s check out, load up the car, and make a list of everything so I can come back for the rest.”
The girls nodded and they each got in line to pay. Asami’s stuff hadn’t taken up very much space in the trunk, while Majima-sensei and Hana had to play Tetris with all of their items before all three of them worked to shove everything in and close the trunk before it could fall out again.
The end of the day saw Hana with a newly set-up room, though she’d be making her own curtains and a fan in the support lab the next day. Her blankets and nesting supplies were folded in her closet, as her omega probably wouldn’t feel comfortable enough to nest for a couple of weeks. She was also considering making a frame for a canopy bed. She felt it would help break up the room and make her feel more secure and enclosed at night. She ended up doing that as well.
The next day Mei was moving into the dorms, accompanied by the rest of the support class. The other person on their floor would be Kumo Botan, a nice beta with a quirk that gave him spider-like features.
1-G had a dorm meeting with Majima to set up ground rules, which basically boiled down to ‘be nice, clean up after yourself, don’t be too loud when people are trying to sleep, if someone is in heat (cough, Hana) or in a rut, leave them the fuck alone’.
That night, 1-G settled in to watch Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Thank God Majima had bought enough popcorn.
To say Iida was stressed about moving into dorms would be an understatement. The alpha was used to having a lot of space in his family’s compound as well as a very rigid morning and nighttime routine. Living in a dorm room surrounded by 19 other rowdy teenagers was a big change from what he was used to, and Tenya was determined to be a good class representative and keep everyone in line.
Then there was the issue of Suzuki Hana, his true mate. The support class was living in a dorm as well, just down the way from 1-A’s heights alliance. There was no guarantee that he would run into her, but Iida had to seriously consider what he was going to do in regards to that.
He’d taken the liberty of perusing her social medias in order to learn more about his true mate. She was really pretty, lived with her single omega mother, and spent all her time with Hatsume Mei and another girl with sparkly everything. Tenya had stopped there before he started to feel like a creep violating her privacy.
At first, he hadn’t known what to think about even having a true mate. Tenya’s parents were an alpha and a beta, so he’d never felt too pressured to marry someone of a certain gender, though he had pictured himself being married with a big litter of pups as an adult. Hero work would certainly come first though for the time being. How could he be expected to support a family if he didn’t work hard, after all? Still though, he’d never imagined he’d be faced with someone who was fated to be with him so early on, or at all for that matter. Iida’s alpha instincts were telling him to march over to the 1-G dorm and claim her for real, but that would be absurd.
She didn’t even know he existed.
Iida resigned himself to focusing on school and training for the time being, though he would try to look for a time to introduce himself. He didn’t want to be inconsiderate and push her into an inconvenient heat, seeing as heats normally lasted longer than ruts and were much more difficult to manage.
The whole affair was giving Tenya a bit of a stress headache, and he made his way down to the Heights Alliance common area in time for the dorm room competition.
Sato ended up winning for the boys, seeing as the girls got to eat some of a cake he’d baked. Iida was a bit embarrassed when his classmates saw his bedroom set up, though it wasn’t anything shocking to them. He’d brought plenty of books and spare glasses, along with a comfortable chair that had been a gift from Tensei, and that was about it.
Iida himself had been quite impressed with Sero’s sense of interior style, however. Perhaps one day he’d ask for pointers.
Iida tried to stay in his normal daily routine as much as possible in the dorms, which included an early morning run. Surprisingly, Bakugou and a yawning Kirishima seemed to have a similar idea.
“Oh, wow! Hey class rep, you’re looking manly this morning.” The redhead greeted as Iida walked in.
“Good morning Kirishima, Bakugou. Thank you; I normally run in the mornings.”
The blue-haired alpha filled his water bottle and took some pre-workout. The dorms had been stocked with groceries and seemingly every exercise booster, protein powder, and vitamin concoction known to man.
“Wow, so you’re really a morning person too then! I’m tagging along with Bakugou to get a workout in and I’m not used to waking up so early.”
The blonde in question snarled, taking the pre-workout from Iida and drinking some down as well.
“That’s because you go to bed late, Shitty Hair. Four Eyes and I get enough fuckin’ sleep.”
Kirishima laughed along as the three exited the building and tied on their shoes. Iida wished them well and began his long-distance run through the campus. He didn’t activate his quirk in the beginning so he could work on stamina and breathing, finally engaging his engines once he’d gotten a timer set up. He ran the perimeter of the campus in two and a half minutes, a time he’d be working to beat.
Tenya also did some stretches and basic bodyweight exercises before he headed back to the dorm to shower and see what to do about breakfast. The two other alphas he’d run into that morning returned just as Iida was heating up the stove, already dressed for school.
“Wow, Iida! You’re so efficient! What’s cooking?” The redhead asked.
Bakugou simply grunted and took out the steel-cut oats, protein powder, and some eggs.
“I was about to make oatmeal. I can make some for the two of you as well if you’d like.”
“Go ahead, glasses. We’ll be back.” The blonde alpha said, dragging Kirishima out of the kitchen and presumably to the showers.
Iida made quite a large batch of oatmeal, which proved to be a good idea as Asui and Ojiro came down the stairs to the kitchen, still in their pajamas. Iida found Asui’s frog-patterned pants to be quite humorous.
“Good morning you two! Would you like some oatmeal for breakfast? There’s also cereal, eggs, tofu, natto, and an array of beverages.”
Asui graciously accepted a bowl and added raisins and brown sugar to it, pouring herself a glass of juice to tie her meal together. Ojiro opted to make scrambled eggs as he also dug bacon out of the fridge’s deli drawer. Iida added some protein powder to his oatmeal and started eating with his classmates, chatting amicably about their first night in the dorms.
Bakugou and Kirishima returned, now dressed in uniform. Bakugou fixed two bowls of oatmeal and added two different types of protein powder as well as a vitamin powder and a generous spoonful of honey. Kirishima looked skeptical of his meal, and promptly added more honey and some chocolate chips to his after tasting it.
The rest of the class trickled in slowly. Yaoyorozu, Uraraka, Shoji, Todoroki, and Kouda were the next few to arrive, with enough time for a leisurely breakfast and even an impromptu yoga session. Aoyama, Tokoyami, Jirou, Sero, and Sato were next. Everyone was cleaning up their dishes and disappearing back upstairs to get dressed if they weren’t already when Kaminari, Midoriya, Ashido, Hagakure and Mineta scrambled down.
Luckily, everyone made it to homeroom on time.
The next couple of weeks were busy as class 1-A trained for the provisional hero license exam. Tenya was a bit nervous, but found he had no need to be when the majority of class 1-A passed, excluding Bakugou and Todoroki, surprisingly. Tenya was ready to begin his work study at his family’s agency, and he did.
The school festival was coming up, as well.
Iida and Yaoyorozu had tried to lead a meeting to decide what the class was doing at the school festival, but didn’t come up with a solid idea until Todoroki suggested a rock concert. Tenya never would have thought the… Prim and proper wasn’t a good descriptor, perhaps tightly wound? Sheltered? Anyway, it was an out-of-left-field idea but the class seemed to get behind it.
Somehow, Iida was not surprised that Jirou and Bakugou ended up being musical geniuses.
Class 1-G was brainstorming ideas for the school festival. All of the events and booths were set to be outdoors, with the exception of class 1-A’s rock show? Asami had laughed when she’d heard about it from a General Studies student. The class had initially thought of a food stand, but decided instead that they would build a carnival-style shooter game with lasers instead of water. The objective would be to break a ceramic pot, and whoever was able to break theirs first would win a prize.
1-G also had a support course item showcase, though that was more low-key than in previous years, seeing as the festival was not open to the public. Still, Hana had been taking extra lessons from Snipe to prepare.
Hana had been conscripted to sew some of the prizes for the shooter booth, which would be plushies of animals and popular pro heroes. Those prizes would be for people who won multiple rounds. There would also be smaller prizes, like keychains and candy apples, for those who won only one round.
Hana was stitching together a Hawks toy in the common room when Mei plopped down next to her.
“They kicked me off the planning committee for my designs being ‘too volatile’, can you believe that? All I said was we should make the lasers more intense.”
“DID YOU MENTION WANTING TO BURN A HOLE IN THE BOOTH?” A voice shouted from across the floor.
Hana laughed a bit at Mei’s pouty look.
“Would you like to help me with these prizes? I could use a stuffer.”
Mei nodded and Hana pulled out a basket of almost-finished toys as well as a few bags of stuffing, which was really just fabric scraps. They turned the television on and worked silently. Once Mei had stuffed the toys satisfactorily, Hana taught her the invisible stitch to close them up.
Their biggest prize was a blue and orange teddy bear almost half as tall as Hana. There were a few other animals, and she’d made plushes of All Might, Endeavor, Hawks, Mirko, Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods, Washing Machine Man, and Principal Nedzu (with his permission, of course) (on the condition that the principal received a life-sized stuffed version of himself) (Hana didn’t know why) (Until one day Majima had come in cackling about one of the teachers going to talk to Nedzu and being scared shitless when they found a stuffed animal in his office chair) (Hana received a gift basket the next day)
Hana had also had to deal with her first heat since moving to the dorms. From what she’d heard Majima-sensei telling Recovery Girl, hers had been the first heat of any omega on campus. It made sense, actually. During the Kamino incident and subsequent pseudo-homelessness, Hana had only had the very last of her heat suppressant pills. When she’d run out, the doctor who normally prescribed them to her as well as her usual pharmacy had been destroyed, and she’d been off them for a few days while Recovery Girl filled the prescription and had it sent to the dorm.
She’d probably have been in heat sooner, had her omega not been in a new environment.
It wasn’t so bad to deal with actually. Mei and Botan, the other guy on their floor, were betas, and thus unaffected by the pheromones leaking from her room. Asami was a different story, though she’d been able to control herself okay, it seemed. Asami was the only alpha to even catch her scent seeing as their rooms were on the top floor.
With most of 1-G’s preparations over with, all that was left was the night before/day of setup. Their booth, along with all of the other classes’ booths, were being stored in a room off the gym.
The morning of the festival and support course showcase, Hana woke up early to put the finishing touches on her showcase submission, finding Mei in the support lab covered in grease.
“Oh my goodness did you even sleep? Go shower ya nasty!” The omega exclaimed.
Power Loader was also trying to convince the girl to get herself cleaned up, and Hana paused when she saw the teacher in a suit for the first time. Normally, he wasn’t wearing a shirt or he was dressed in casual athletic wear or protective gear from the lab. It was a bit disconcerting.
“No! Everything has to be perfect for the showcase! My baby has to shine!”
“Do you want me to call Asami to drag you to a shower? Nobody’s going to want to look at your baby if you reek.”
That warning seemed to finally snap the pink-haired girl out of her frenzy as she bolted back to the dorms.
“I should have just led with that,” Majima-sensei muttered, “You ready for the festival?”
Hana nodded.
“Yeah, I just stopped in to pick up my glasses and headphones. My fabric samples are already ready, as is the flamethrower. Snipe is going to be supervising my production.”
“I sure hope so. You worked hard for that certification but it’s still dangerous. Are you going to be watching class A’s rock show? It starts in an hour.”
Hana shook her head.
“Someone has to be manning the game booth, and I’m not a huge fan of crowds. Asami is going to be recording it for me though.”
Majima-sensei nodded as Hana grabbed her things and they got moving.
As promised, Hana showed up to the booth just in time after dropping off her supplies for the showcase. The classmates who had set it up were glad to see her and jetted off to the gym with a wave to get good places for 1-A’s show. Present Mic kicked things off with an announcement and the school festival was underway.
A few people played 1-G’g game, but the focus seemed to be on getting to the gym for the concert. Hana was fine with that, as it gave her time to sample the food that some of the other classes had prepared. Her favorite was the strawberry crepes from 3rd year general studies class 3-E.
A few students stopped by at 10:30, seemingly having boycotted the performance in protest? Hana didn’t know what their problem was. If she could handle crowds, she’d probably be in the gym. Still though, they played the game pretty well and didn’t take any of the big prizes, so Hana didn’t want to complain.
Asami came running over to the booth once people started leaving the gym.
“Oh my god it was epic! They were weirdly talented, for hero students. Here, I recorded the whole thing.”
The alpha waved her phone at Hana, and the omega started the video while Asami began really welcoming people to play. It was a really impressive performance, and they’d managed to work up the crowd really well.
“Hey, which one is Yaoyorozu again? People were screaming her name in the beginning.”
Asami blushed.
“Oh, um… She’s an alpha in class A, the one with the quirk that needs her skin exposed so her costume is like nonexistent? She did some kind of commercial with Uwabami a little while ago and gained some avid fans.”
“Ohhhh the one with the long black ponytail?”
“That’s her.” Asami replied.
Hana remembered her. The girl had accidentally bumped into her in the hall once and knocked a pile of gear out of her hands. She’d been really helpful and apologetic afterwards, even though nothing had broken.
“You going to class B’s play? It should be a tamer environment, and we could sit by the door.”
Asami knew well about Hana’s aversion to crowds. The omega was sensitive to smell and sound, and could get sensory overload if there was too much going on around her. She and her mother had also had a few bad experiences due to their presentation; omegas were often targeted or ridiculed in public.
“As long as you’re there I’ll give it a try.”
“Great!”
Class B’s play was a bit much, but it was really entertaining. As promised, Hana had sat in the back with Asami shielding her from wandering eyes and hands. Her friend’s familiar scent also helped sooth Hana’s nerves.
They went back to the booth after that and Hana got to give the big prize away to an adorable little girl with a tiny horn on her forehead. She was being escorted around by Mirio, and he’d held the laser gun steady for her. The bear she’d won was bigger than she was.
“Is that Togata’s daughter or something?”
“I have no idea.”
A few hours passed and it was time for the support course showcase.
Mei had built a robot mech suit and she was presenting it in her proper school uniform for once, but Hana had decided to take a less traditional approach.
Her two fabric submissions were each being held in frames. First, she showed the small audience her self-named chameleon fabric, which could change to any color on the visible spectrum or become completely invisible.
Then it was time for the fun part.
Iida was having a good time at the festival. After he’d cleaned up the gym with the rest of class A, he’d been hanging around Uraraka, Midoriya, Yaoyorozu and Todoroki. Hagakure met up with them later to drag the group to the support course showcase.
“Come on guys! That girl Suzuki apparently came up with an invisible fabric! How neat is that? Maybe I won’t have to be naked all the time!”
“That’s really exciting! Maybe I should see if she has any ideas for my costume as well…” Yaoyorozu replied.
Uraraka was enthusiastically encouraging her, but Tenya had stopped in his tracks. Midoriya noticed right away.
“Suzuki? That’s…” The green-haired boy murmured.
Tenya stopped him before he could finish.
“Yes, she is. And she still has no idea.”
Todoroki looked confused, having been listening to the guys talking.
“What about her?”
It was obvious he meant to harm, but thinking about what could happen was causing Tenya to spiral. The alpha started to release a distressed scent that made Midoriya stop and put a hand on his back.
“When we visited the support lab, Iida got close to Suzuki’s station and picked up on her scent. He left the room immediately because it threw him into a rut. He wasn’t close enough that she could inhale his scent, though.” Midoriya murmured.
Todoroki’s eyes widened.
“You mean she’s your true mate and doesn’t know?” He spoke.
It normally took a lot to shock the stoic boy, but he was practically dumbfounded.
“Are you going to be alright, Iida?” Midoriya asked.
Tenya straightened himself out.
“It’ll be fine. The support course showcase should be very interesting and the three of us can stay near the back of the crowd. Do you have an extra scent patch, Midoriya?” The alpha asked.
The boy in question nodded and pulled one out of his pocket. Tenya peeled the band aid-like patch and applied it to his scent gland, muffling himself as best he could.
They caught up with the girls and the six of them went to where the showcase was being held. Power Loader was presenting his students’ work.
“And our largest entry of today is the Hydraulic Mech Suit designed and constructed by Mei Hatsume! It has been thoroughly tested and hasn’t exploded yet, folks, so come on by!”
The hyper beta launched into a spiel about each of the many features of her suit, testing a few out herself. It was supposedly able to fly, but Power Loader didn’t allow her to attempt that maneuver. A few more students showed off their work. One notable kid had developed balls that when thrown, would explode into a biodegradable rubber- alternative meant to cushion falls, help with urban damage control, or slow down a villain.
There was also an alpha Tenya recognized from Suzuki’s social media who was in the middle of coding an AI, that she asked basic questions and was able to give basic tasks to that the program would facilitate through a robot arm.
The last submission was Suzuki’s.
“To wrap up the first-year presentation, here’s Suzuki Hana with two unique fabrics. She’s our resident fashion junkie and has already been re-designing a few costumes. Her knowledge and skill with textile development is almost unmatched!” Power Loader said, unveiling the girl, who was wearing casual clothes instead of her school uniform.
“Hello everyone. My first submission is a textile I’m very proud of, which I’ve decided to call chameleon fabric. With the help of a small dial and a series of electromagnetic pulses, this fabric can take on any color on the spectrum, as well as become completely invisible.”
Tenya was taken aback by her confidence and skill as Suzuki turned a dial and made the fabric turn green, then magenta, then blue. It also took on different textures at times, like that of wood and stone. Finally, it became completely invisible, making Hagakure gasp and shake her friends’ arms in delight. Tenya felt a warmth in his chest, both at seeing his true mate in a closer setting, and at her incredible skill.
Suzuki then wheeled the frame with the chameleon fabric away, bringing in another with a black fabric suspended within it. A glass partition was also raised between the presentation stage and the audience. She was able to speak to them through a microphone.
“This next fabric can have as many uses as necessary, seeing as it’s water, wind, fire, acid, tear, and bullet proof. It is twice as effective as Kevlar with only a fraction of the weight, and its shock deflection means that even right up against the body, this baby will protect even the most active heroes and the toughest soldiers. It’s even machine washable.
“I know it seems impossible, so let’s test it out.”
The omega put on a welding mask that had been set off to the side along with gloves. The group from class 1-A wondered why until Powe Loader stepped back and the girl pulled out a flamethrower.
Tenya felt alarm bells going off in his head. His alpha instincts were screaming at him to go get his mate away from the threat, and despite not being one to show any emotion in public, the blue-haired alpha did his best to anchor himself between Midoriya and Todoroki.
Then she turned on the flamethrower.
The audience gasped in surprise as the girl wasted no time in throwing shots that should have charred her creation, but the fabric stayed strong. It was under a constant barrage of fire for about thirty seconds, during which time Iida grasped Midoriya’s arms and squeezed.
“She’s okay, Iida. It’s perfectly safe.” The other alpha murmured.
Iida’s nerves were not calmed as the flamethrower was powered down and the omega removed her mask and gloves.
“Even after all of that, this fabric remains safe to touch.” Suzuki said, running her entire palm over it.
Iida’s alpha was practically seeing red, but the teen merely held onto Midoriya to anchor himself.
With the help of Power Loader, the girl shifted the frame to the side. Suzuki donned familiar pink safety goggles and headphones. The audience hadn’t really noticed Snipe until he stepped up, said a few words to the girl, and handed her a gun.
Had Tenya been formally bonded to his mate his alpha probably would have gone feral. As it was, the class rep was struggling internally, and felt hands grabbing his arms to keep him in place. Glancing around, he saw Midoriya and Todoroki. Yaoyorozu shot him a strange look from her place in front of them.
“Now for her final test.” Power Loader said as he stepped out of the enclosed space.
The omega lined up and took one, two, three, four shots at the frame. Tenya almost fainted. Luckily, the shots didn’t ricochet and instead lost all momentum and fell lamely to the ground after connecting with the fabric. The girl returned the gun to Snipe and removed her protective gear as she picked up one of the fallen bullets, holding it to the camera to show the audience.
It had been flattened.
Iida’s heart rate returned back to normal as the glass partition came down and he was able to pick up her calm scent. Todoroki and Midoriya released him, still staying close, as Hagakure turned to them and started squealing.
“She’s so impressive! I need to ask her to make a costume for me out of that invisible fabric; it’ll be the greatest thing to ever happen to me!”
The beta held her group back as the showcase went on for the second and third-years, and she raced up to the front to find Suzuki, who’d stolen the show. Uraraka dragged the boys up with them, though all three were trading apprehensive looks. Tenya worried about the integrity of the scent-patches he’d borrowed from Midoriya. They were most effective when used directly after a shower. Iida, however, had performed in the concert and had changed into clothes from his room, which was full of his scent.
He had no time to think up an excuse and run away, however, as Hagakure had already approached the girl.
“Oh my goodness that chameleon fabric was amazing! I’m Hagakure Tooru from Class 1-A and I’d love to talk to you about remaking my costume.”
Suzuki smiled at the girl and introduced herself, before asking what her current costume was like and chatting about her invisibility. Tenya prayed he was downwind, but he, Midoriya, and Todoroki froze as Suzuki did, her eyes darting to him immediately.
“What?” She murmured, stepping closer to Tenya. “The fuck?”
The girls seemed confused as he bowed deeply to her.
“My name is Iida Tenya, of class 1-A. I apologize that we had to formally meet like this.”
Hana took in the alpha before her whose musky, fresh linen, and lightning storm scent was slowly invading every corner of her mind and driving her omega into a frenzy. She sensed his calmness and was confused.
“How did you know?” She asked, crossing her arms in front of her in an attempt to ground herself.
It was probably no use. Hana already felt her body betraying her as she fell into pre-heat. Her head swam with hormones and the world seemed a bit hazy. Her limbs were also beginning to feel heavy. This alpha’s scent immediately making her feel this way only meant one thing. He was her true mate.
“I encountered your scent when my class visited the support lab and left immediately so as not to cause a scene. I’ve been very nervous about approaching the subject.”
The alpha stood slowly and Hana was able to take in his features. He was also much taller than her.
“That was months ago…” She said, suddenly feeling a bit light-headed.
Midoriya and that Half and Half kid look unsurprised, but the girls seemed confused.
“What’s going on?” Yaoyorozu asked, even as the realization showed on her face.
Majima was overseeing the clean-up of the showcase when he smelled something peculiar and looked around.
Shit. The 1-A Iida kid and Hana had met, finally. The hero hurried over and put an arm on his student’s shoulder, earning a growl from the alpha who was standing in front of her. Majima ignored it in favor of checking on his student.
“Hana, what’s going on? Can you talk to me?”
The omega nodded weakly.
“Pre-heat; it’s really intense. I need to go lie down.”
Majima nodded and handed the girl to her mate, who gently supported her. Thea teacher noted that his hands were not straying from her arms and he was letting the omega choose how much contact she was comfortable with. He internally smiled. The ginger pulled out his phone and clicked on Aizawa’s contact. The man picked up immediately.
“It seems we’ve encountered your problem child.” He said, trying to stay calm to avoid a scene.
The 1-A students were glancing around, dumbfounded. It seemed this meeting had been an accident, then.
“Which one?” The man on the other line asked gruffly.
“Your class rep seems to have accidentally bumped into my Suzuki Hana. She’s not feeling too well; I’m going to send them back to the 1-G dorms.”
“That’s probably for the best; I won’t wait up for Iida then.”
Majima ended the call, looking at the blue-haired alpha. He tried to stay calm and not show dominance to upset his authority. Even though he’d already had his initial rut, Hana’s omega heat-scent might throw him into another one, and he’d be more inclined to protect her from any perceived threat in her vulnerable state.
“Go ahead and take her back to the dorms. You can stay if she lets you; your teacher knows where you are.”
The alpha nodded and whispered something to Hana. She nodded and he picked her up fully, cradling her in his arms before powering up his quirk and jetting off to 1-G.
Majima sighed, turning to the five class A students in front of him.
“I’m not mad, but what happened?”
Hana felt as though she would faint as Majima-sensei passed her over to Iida Tenya, who she now knew to be her true mate. The alpha supported her and a few other things were said. Hana really couldn’t focus until he whispered in her ear.
“May I carry you back to your dorm?”
She nodded. His low voice was smooth, she noticed, and he was really muscular as he picked her up. Hana nuzzled into his neck in search of a scent gland, but she found a fabric patch instead, and the smell underneath it was faint at best. The alpha scent that still clung to him was all she could focus on, even as the wind blew by and she was being put down in the common area of the 1-G dorm.
“Which one is yours?” He asked.
“Top floor, third door down.”
The alpha nodded and helped her to the elevator. By this time, Hana’s pre-heat was beginning to transition into a full heat, and she whimpered softly as her core warmed and her panties became wet with slick. The alpha seemed to be able to sense this, and his scent changed a bit too, taking on the warm overtone of arousal. Still, he didn’t try anything as he carried Hana into her room and placed her on her bed.
“Is there anything I can get for you?” He asked, adjusting the glasses that sat on his nose.
“Some water from the kitchen, please? My bottle is on the table over there.”
Iida nodded and grabbed the bottle. His quirk had something to do with speed, and he was back in less than thirty seconds.
Even though he’d run a fair bit in the last few minutes, Hana knew that the sheen beginning to make itself present on his forehead was due to something else entirely. It wasn’t uncommon for the scent of an omega in heat to throw an alpha into a rut. They were usually manageable, but true mates didn’t follow the ‘usually’s that governed alpha/beta/omega dynamics.
Still, Iida Tenya was a true gentleman.
“You can kick me out at any time, you know. I know this is a difficult situation.”
Hanna shook her head and took a sip, relishing in the small relief brought on by the cool water.
“I’d like you to stay, if you want,” At the alpha’s purr in the affirmative, Hana asked a question, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
His head drooped, a sign of submission.
“There was a lot going on at the time, and frankly I was scared of how you’d react to an unfamiliar alpha approaching you and throwing you into a heat. I don’t want to take advantage of you in any way.”
“Sit down.”
At her prompting, Iida sat.
“I don’t know what I would have done either, I guess… Iida?”
“Yes, Suzuki?”
“You’re going into a rut, right?”
“Yes.”
For some reason, Hana found herself without reservations that would be expected when it came to the vulnerability of her heat. It probably had everything to do with the fact that Iida Tenya was her true mate.
“Would you stay?”
“Only if you want me to. I’m not sure how ready I am, however.”
The omega nodded.
“I don’t want to go all the way either, but I just need you here.”
Hana reached out her arms and the alpha leaned into them. She tugged him a bit, weakly attempting to get him to lay down with her. The alpha laughed and bent down to untie his shoes, slipping hers off as well. He then allowed the omega to pull him into a lying down position on the bed, and the two breathed as their bodies began to grow warm and needy.
“Nest. Closet.” Hana murmured.
“Am I allowed in your nest?” The alpha asked in surprise.
“Mhm. Take me there, please.”
Tenya was a bit shocked at the current turn of events. He’d expected her to ask him to leave, and instead Suzuki was inviting him into her nest, which was a very personal thing to an omega. From what he’d heard, some omegas never let their alphas in their nests, or only did so when they were giving birth or in heat after they’d bonded. Tenya picked Suzuki up like he had before and carried her to the doors on one side of the room, opening one and finding a bathroom. He closed that door softly and tried the other door, this time finding the closet.
It was really big, definitely surpassing the one in his own dorm room. There were a few hanging items of clothing, but the nest was the most prevalent thing in it, taking up over half the floor space. Tenya set her down gently.
“Can you get the bedding and pillows off my bed?” She asked, and he was quick to comply with her wish.
Ordinarily, his alpha struggled with following directions. It was difficult to fight his baser instincts in that respect, but Tenya had managed to get over his issues with authority splendidly before high school (Stain incident aside). The alpha now felt himself compelled to listen to the omega’s requests, his desire to make his mate comfortable far stronger than his stupid pride.
He grabbed everything off the bed but the fitted sheet, and watched as Suzuki kneaded, dragged, and adjusted the blankets to her liking. Tenya also noticed her stuffed animals. She had a large rabbit, along with a dinosaur, and a couple of flowers and berries. She lined them all up and looked up at him.
“Get the lights and close the door. Oooh wait could you please bring my water bottle?”
“Certainly.”
Once Tenya had done everything, it was rather dark in the closet until the omega turned on a small night light that was plugged into the wall. Everything was bathed in a soft, orangey glow, and Suzuki motioned for him to lie down.
Again, he let her manipulate his limbs the way she wanted, his breath hitching as the omega burrowed into his side. They stayed like that for a few minutes, each beginning to breathe progressively more heavily. Normally, Tenya was more hyper during a rut, but his omega’s calm demeanor seemed to keep his alpha in check also.
It was something like being in the eye of a storm. Hormones and adrenaline were still coursing through the both of them, but even during normal ruts and heats there would sometimes be brief moments of mental clarity, which they were currently taking full advantage of.
“Thank you for allowing me into your nest, Suzuki.”
“Hana, please. And I want you here.”
“Call me Tenya then.”
His arm rubbed gentle circles into her back and Suzuki – Hana – reached over for her water bottle, taking a sip and offering it to him. Tenya accepted with a purr and the two sat up.
“There’s too many clothes here.” She said quietly and Tenya’s heart stopped.
“I don’t want you to do anything you’re uncomfortable with…” He reminded.
The omega shook her head.
“I’m going to start sweating if I don’t get rid of these, and you already are.”
Tenya blushed at the omega pointing out his predicament. They each removed their clothes slowly, leaving only their underwear on. Hana shot a look at his scent patch, which Tenya promptly peeled off and tossed aside. Satisfied, she motioned for them to lie down again.
“I don’t know much about you, besides your quirk.” She said into his shoulder, the words coming out breathy and a bit wanton, despite their innocent intent.
Tenya’s chest rumbled and she curled into him, her nose finding his scent gland more successfully this time.
“Hmm. My family have been doing hero work for generations, and my older brother Tensei was the hero Ingenium, until an attack he suffered recently. I want to be a hero to carry on his legacy.” He said quietly.
Hana nodded, one of her hands coming up to play with his hair, scratching her nails gently over his scalp. Tenya shivered, his mind automatically wandering to any number of sinful things.
“Tell me the little, stupid things nobody else knows.” She replied.
“I don’t really know what there is to tell. Let’s see… I prefer contacts to glasses but I wear them because it makes me appear smarter. People think my favorite color is blue and I do like it, but I’m actually quite partial to purple or green. My older brother got me into the habit of shot-gunning energy drinks, I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo, but of course I probably wouldn’t, and I’ve always wanted to have a big family someday.
Tenya could feel the little giggle that came from Hana, and for a second he was worried about what she’d say.
“Why wouldn’t you get a tattoo?” Came the quiet question.
That was not the response the alpha had been expecting, and he cracked a small smile.
“It just wouldn’t be proper, I suppose. There’s just a certain expectation in my family, to be proper I mean.”
“Good thing you’re not living at home any more, right?”
Tenya turned his head and took in the omega’s mischievous smirk. She really was beautiful, he thought again.
“Now why do I get the feeling that you’re going to get me in trouble, little omega?” He spoke.
Her eyes fluttered shut.
“Say it again.”
“Hm?”
“Call me your omega again.”
Tenya’s eyes widened; it had just slipped out the first time.
“Do you like the idea of being my omega?” He asked in a lower tone than he’d anticipated.
The omega nodded, and Tenya could feel the shiver that went down her spine.
“You’re adorable when you beg, Hana.”
Her smile widened and she tried to hide it by burying her face in his chest. Tenya caught her however, and slipped a finger under her chin to tilt it up.
“You don’t get to hide that cute smile from me.” He whispered, drawing closer.
He wasn’t expecting the whine that came out of her. Really, Tenya had practically zero practical experience with dating, courting, whatever, and the alpha found himself questioning his every action and sentence, especially in such a new and vulnerable situation. The positive response from Hana was reassuring, however.
“Not fair, alpha!”
Tenya wondered what exactly she meant until he felt a shift under the duvet she’d haphazardly thrown over them. Somehow, his bare thigh had come to be between her legs, only a thin layer of fabric separating him from her core. Even with that in the way, he could still feel her heat and the copious amount of slick her body had been producing the entire time.
“Oh, you’re feeling needy?”
She nodded, beginning to grind against his thigh. Tenya had to fight himself to not instinctually flip her over and go further than they were ready for.
“Kiss me. Please, alpha.” She whispered.
Tenya complied, guiding her jaw with a steady hand and placing his lips on hers. It was a bit clumsy until they both found their rhythm. Her scent grew even more intense, and it seemed like her essence was permeating his every pore. Her lips were soft, and the closet filled with the sound of rustling fabrics and low gasps and moans.
A few hours later saw the both of them still in her nest, dozing. Neither had felt ready to go all the way or mark each other, but they were able to find other ways to relieve their tension. Thankfully, they’d both managed to reach completion enough to make the fog dissipate slightly. Tenya had tossed his glasses to the side and Hana had turned off the night light so the two were left in darkness. Hana just appreciated being entangled up with her true mate so intimately without the expectation of much beyond that. It had been a shock to be thrown into heat so suddenly, even if her omega instincts had her feeling like she’d found a missing puzzle piece or something. Tenya had benefitted from a longer time to get used to the idea of having a true mate, and that mate being her, and Hana felt as if she were diving in blind in comparison.
A sudden vibration coming from Hana’s discarded phone snapped the omega out of her slumbering contemplation. She reached across to where her jacket had fallen and rifled through the pockets to retrieve her phone. She patted the alpha once to wake him up fully and answered it. Tenya was able to hear both sides of the conversation as he rubbed the drowsiness out of his eyes.
“Sensei?”
“How are you doing, Suzuki?”
“I’m better, I think.”
“That’s good to hear. You’re still in your room, correct?”
“Yeah.”
“Is Iida there with you?”
“Yes, he’s here.”
“Alright. Aizawa was asking after him. I’m going to go get a snack at the dorm, would you like me to leave some food outside your door for you?”
Hana looked at him quizzically and Tenya nodded in response.
“Yes please.”
“The noodles from last night okay? With some juice or something?”
“Yes, sensei that’s great.”
“Okay. I’ll be there in a few minutes. I’ll knock and leave the tray outside for you.”
“Alright. Thanks for this, Majima-sensei.”
“No problem, kid.”
The call disconnected then, and Hana turned over, lifting her phone above their heads to reply to messages. Tenya couldn’t quite make out the words (curse his horrible vision) but she seemed to be replying to a couple messages from friends or something.
“This one is from my mom. I don’t know what to tell her…” Hana said
“Do you think she’ll be okay with it?” He asked, suddenly apprehensive.
The two had talked more, exchanging both general and oddly specific information. Tenya knew Hana’s mother had raised her alone.
“Yes, she’ll be fine. She always says the more time you have with the people you love, the better. I just don’t want to freak her out or something.”
“You could always tell her you have news and you’ll call later.”
“Yeah, that seems like a good idea for now.”
Hana typed out the text on her phone and sent it, leaning over to toss it back where it came from.
“Yours just buzzed too. Want me to get it for you?”
Tenya nodded.
“Yes, please. And my glasses if you wouldn’t mind.”
Hana grabbed the items and came back, placing his glasses on his face before planting a kiss on his jaw. Tenya decided that he quite liked having Hana as his true mate.
“Just texts from Aizawa, and the friends that were there earlier today when we bumped into each other, checking in.”
“Hmmm.”
Iida responded to Aizawa and then put Midoriya, Todoroki, Uraraka, Hagakure, and Yaoyorozu into a chat to tell them all that he was fine and staying with Hana. Tenya then tossed his phone aside as well and removed his glasses. A couple minutes later came the knock at Hana’s bedroom door. The omega stood and slipped Tenya’s discarded shirt on to go get their meal.
The alpha felt a surge of pride at seeing her in his clothes.
“Maybe it’s better if we eat this at my desk!” She said distantly from outside the closet
“That’s fine!” The alpha replied
Tenya was glad that he’d allowed himself to loosen up that day and that he’d changed out of the ugly yellow class 1-A dance team attire and into joggers, a t shirt, and a light windbreaker. The alpha was able to pull on his comfortable pants and walk over to the desk where Hana had laid out their bowls. He’d also gotten his omega’s water bottle, both of their phones, and his glasses.
Power Loader had seemingly thought of everything, and had brought them a warmed container of noodle soup and a half-gallon of juice, along with two bowls, cups, chopsticks, and a stack of napkins. Hana was busy pouring the soup, and Iida decided to make himself useful by pouring them each a glass of juice. There was only one chair, so his omega ended up seated on his lap while they quietly scarfed down their meal.
“Thank god tomorrow is a Saturday,” His omega murmured once they were done, leaning back against his chest, “How long do your ruts normally last?”
“Two or three days. I’m usually not fit to leave my room for the first two days. The third is manageable and I can still go out with scent-blockers on but I’m usually still pretty on edge. And your heats?”
“Hmm, it honestly depends on my suppressants. When I haven’t been taking them consistently it can be really intense for four days straight. This one might only last three days. You’re welcome to stay…”
Tenya thought it over, and saw no glaring reason why he couldn’t stay. When it came to true mates, rules concerning what was ‘proper’ were usually pretty relaxed.
“I think I might, if you’ll have me.” He said.
“Great! We can ask sensei if Midoriya or someone could bring you a change of clothes.”
Tenya hummed and the two gathered up their dishes and put them back on the tray. Hana opened her door quickly and set it outside, closing and locking it once more. She then asked if he’d like to watch a movie together on her laptop. Tenya hadn’t actually watched anything that wasn’t educational in a long time, so he agreed.
The two stretched out on her bed, and they found themselves talking instead of pulling up a movie right away. Hana began the conversation with an observation.
“Okay, I don’t know if this is going to sound weird or not, but you’re not what I expected at all…” She said.
Tenya raised an eyebrow.
“How so?”
The omega looked a bit bashful.
“I watched the Sports Festival and listened to Mei talking about it and Class 1-A has been a really popular topic of conversation among the rest of the students. And you were always made out to be some asshole stick-in-the-mud sourpuss. And that just seems inaccurate? I don’t know.”
Tenya took a minute to think about what she had said for a minute before he replied.
“To be fair, I can be a stick-in-the-mud sourpuss. I don’t know about asshole but I could see why people would think that.”
At her encouraging nod, Tenya launched into his story.
“I think it all comes from a desire to do well here and be the best hero I can be. I know that sounds juvenile, but I’ve been the accidental second son my whole life, and performing well academically was the only way to get my father’s approval. My mother was only slightly more active in raising me, and Tensei, my brother, was one of my only friends, but he’s so much older…
Eventually I started to lash out because I wasn’t receiving much attention at home. It was also around the time I started presenting, and there was really nobody there to show me how to handle myself. I ended up getting into some trouble, which finally got me attention from my father, but it was not positive. I was punished- severely- and sent off to Somei private academy to finish middle school. I developed an anxiety disorder that still hasn’t gone away completely. It’s only manageable when I feel I’m in control of my environment, which is probably where my…eccentricities surface.”
The alpha had been staring off at the nightlight over his omega’s head, but his head tilted downward and he met her eyes. Hana was looking at him intently, an almost unreadable expression on her face.
“When you say you were punished severely…”
Tenya had never even told Tensei what his father had said to him that night, but he found himself trusting Hana implicitly, the words tumbling out.
“He threatened to disown me and put me out on the street if I didn’t toe the line and perform as a model son and hero. He also drove the message home physically.”
Hana’s sharp intake of breath was the final straw, and the alpha felt the tears welling up in his eyes. She seemed to sense his inner turmoil and pulled him even closer to her, if that was even possible. Her whispered voice soothed him and sent shivers down Tenya’s spine.
“I don’t know exactly what happened, but no parent should ever do that to a child. I’m so sorry that you had to go through that alone, Tenya. If there’s anything you need…”
Tenya shook his head vehemently, wiping a stray tear and mustering up a smile.
“Thank you, Hana. Hearing that means more to me than you know.”
She cracked a smile also.
“Who knew the prim-and-proper class representative was a rebel at heart? Anything I should know?” She asked with a giggle
Tenya thought for a minute.
“I am definitely getting that tattoo after graduation.”
“Good. Tattoos are hot.”
“…I cannot believe you said that.”
Four hours later saw them sitting up in the nest that Hana had moved to her bed.
“I don’t understand why he wants to open his home to all those dragons; it’ll ruin the island’s economy and ecosystem.”
“They move all the dragons in the next movie, I think. It’s been a while since I watched these last.”
“Well that makes sense, I suppose.” Tenya replied.
Hana giggled and started the next movie on her computer. Tenya was mildly invested in the plot, yes, but the omega’s head looked so enticing. They’d been ignoring their base urges for a few hours, but it was hard to forget that each was desperate once again for sexual release, Tenya’s physical reminder had become quite painful and red once more.
Hana yelped quietly as she felt lips attach themselves to her neck, just below her scent glands. She made to close her laptop until a large hand on her thigh stopped her.
“Just keep enjoying the movie, omega. I want to take care of this.”
And so Hana tried her best to watch the third How to Train Your Dragon, even as her core was flooded with slick and her alpha kept leaving bruises all over her neck. Again, Hana found herself straddling his thigh, grinding slowly to find her release. Tenya’s hand was on her hip, helping her set a steady pace. By the time the movie ended, Hana had come twice, and Tenya had left no less than seven hickies on her neck, shoulders, and collarbones.
Majima-sensei dropped off dinner that night, as well as a couple changes of clothes for Tenya that had come from the 1-A dorms somehow. It was hard for the true mates not to indulge in the sickeningly sweet couple behaviors like feeding one another, but nobody was around to care. Tenya quickly grew jealous of the shower that Hana had in her attached bathroom. The 1-A dorms did not offer such a luxury as a private shower. Tenya inwardly decided that if they ever had to spend her heat or his rut together at school again, it would be at the 1-G dorms.
After their (separate) showers, the duo found themselves again in Hana’s nest, talking.
“Tell me more about your family” Tenya asked absently as his fingers raked through her hair, methodically twisting the strands this way and that.
“My dad died when I was a baby. He was the alpha, and a fireman. He died in the line of duty, saving people from a burning office building in the aftermath of a bad villain attack. That was back before there were heroes dedicated specifically to collateral damage and civilian rescue. I never really knew him, of course, but my mom talks about him and we have his picture up at home. Thank God she had a digital copy; our apartment building was flattened during the Kamino incident-”
“What?” Tenya asked abruptly.
“Oh yeah, my mother and I used to live in Kamino. Thankfully we were doing a spa weekend in Okinawa the day of the battle. She just had to find a new job, too. My mother is an omega, and a single mom, so she works really hard. She had to get a job at a hostess club to support us after dad died, but she worked her way up to managing the place, and the owner left it to her after they passed a few years ago. Of course, the building was destroyed. My mom chose to sell the land to a developer and take a job elsewhere, managing a bigger club.”
“She seems like a very admirable woman.”
“She is. She was pretty young when she had me, too, so we’re really close. And she’s an omega, so we understand each other in a way other people can’t.”
They chatted some more about random things, until Hana asked another heavy question.
“You don’t have to answer this if you don’t want to, but you said that you’d gotten into some trouble before you went to Somei. What kind of trouble was it, exactly?”
Tenya let out a heavy breath.
“I’m scared you’ll think less of me.”
“Impossible.”
“Alright then. I’d started going out in the afternoons when I’d finished my homeschooling and nobody was home. I ran into some kids in a really shady neighborhood and befriended them. Hell, some of them were much older than I was. I didn’t tell them my real last name or anything, so I knew on some level that hanging around them was a bad idea. Still, I kept coming back and stumbling into some bad things. It started with a few cigarettes, then it was marijuana and mild property damage, and before I knew it we were hanging out at an abandoned wharf and doing really illegal drugs.
Little did we know, the area was being watched for potential villain activity, and the police showed up with a couple of small-time heroes. There was an altercation that injured two officers, and one of my friends was pushed out of a window. Paramedics said he died on impact. Broken spinal column.
The rest happened so fast… We were all cuffed and taken down to the station. Tensei was there doing something for work and he managed to talk them into letting me go before any paperwork could go on file. They did do a drug test though, which Tensei illegally provided a sample for.
My father was furious, and the rest is history.”
Hana nodded slowly.
“I don’t know why I would think less of you for that. You were obviously going through something painful.”
Tenya nodded.
“I’m glad that’s behind me,” He murmured, a hand cupping his omega’s cheek gently, “May I kiss you?”
“Please.”
Sometime during the night, they both found themselves awake.
“Tenya?”
“Yes?”
“Do you think you’d be less anxious if you tried to not worry about your classmates so much? The only actions you control are your own, and trying to tame them seems like it would just stress you out…”
“That’s a good idea. I suppose I’m scared of being perceived harshly if the class I represent doesn’t behave.”
“Who cares what other people think? You’ve been through so much as a class this year. If anyone judges you guys for not being perfect, they can shove their opinions up their ass. Also,” Hana’s voice took on a more serious tone, “You don’t have to constantly be trying to be worthy of love or something. Your dad sounds like a dick, even if he is an admirable hero. You’re enough as you are.”
“Thank you, omega.” Tenya whispered, taking his mate into his arms and beginning not-so-gentle ministrations.
The next day was much the same, with meals being dropped off and the alpha and omega barely being able to keep their hands off each other. The lusty adrenaline and hormones were starting to level out, and now the ache was just constant instead of near-painful. They’d even opened her balcony door to air the smell of stale pheromones out of the room.
By that night, both felt comfortable enough to say goodbye. They exchanged numbers and social media information, (Hana having to get her alpha on snapchat right then and there), causing an idea to strike at her.
“Wait. Are we courting now? Or did we skip that? How am I supposed to define this relationship?” She asked.
Tenya thought for a moment.
“Well, despite sharing a first heat and rut, I find myself clinging to old-fashioned views. I’d like to win your affections with traditional courting rituals, if you’ll have me.”
“Like buying me gifts and stuff?”
“Yes. And taking you out when we can manage it. Ideally, I’d like to wait to mark you. And to claim you. Perhaps when we graduate.”
Hana frown light-heartedly.
“But that’s so far awayyyy. I’ll gladly be courted by you though. As long as I’m still your omega and you’re still my alpha.”
Tenya growled.
“I pity the fool who says otherwise.”
Hana pressed a kiss to her mate’s lips before leading him out the door and down the stairs. People were still in the living room staying up late, seeing as it was Saturday. Someone had built an immersive-reality driving game and almost half the class as well as Majima-sensei all had headsets on and were screaming at each other. Hana got to walk Tenya out and trade a long kiss with nobody noticing.
Tenya was not so lucky arriving back at the 1-A dorms. The majority of the class was still awake, hanging out in small groups in the common area. Iida was planning on tiptoeing right past them until he heard a familiar voice.
“Hold it right there, young man! Just what do you think you’re doing crawling back in at this hour? If I didn’t know any better I’d say you were doing the walk of shame.”
The class rep turned around, caught.
“Very funny Kaminari. It’s not like I was breaking rules. Mr. Aizawa knew where I was.”
“So you admit that you were somewhere!” Mina said triumphantly.
“Obviously I wasn’t here.” Tenya replied.
“Whoa man, what’s with all the sass? We were trying to break Midoriya into telling us where you were but he was just as secretive.” Kirishima said.
Tenya simply shrugged and bid everyone goodnight, making sure to berate them for being up so late in the first place.
Filling Asami and Mei in on what had happened was ridiculously easy. They’d been able to smell the pheromones coming from her room and Majima-sensei had told them the rest. Her friends supported her budding relationship, but Hana had a sneaking suspicion Mei just wanted to use Tenya to test out her babies – again.
The first of her courting gifts was waiting in her corner of the support lab one morning when she got in. It was a nondescript box tied with a pretty yellow ribbon tied in a bow with a note underneath. Hana read the note first.
‘You mentioned not having enough supplies for your nest, so I got you something to bulk it up. I’d also like to take you shopping one of these days to refill your closet with all the nice things you deserve. – Tenya’
Hana blushed and opened the box to see a soft blue blanket that was made of a similar fabric to the ones already in her nest. Checking the time, she sighed in relief that 1-A’s homeroom hadn’t started and texted her mate in thanks.
Shota Aizawa had to admit- for all the trouble his class rep had gotten into with the Hero Killer and the Bakugou rescue mission – the kid still managed to be the least awkward of all his students. The erasure hero hadn’t known what to expect upon learning that Iida had accidentally thrown his true mate into heat and would be staying in her dorm, but Shota had definitely not been expecting the alpha to be a smooth operator who somehow managed to keep his class completely oblivious to it.
Iida had waltzed in late Saturday night, dodged his classmates’ questions like a pro, and the nosey ass kids were none the wiser to his situation. They hadn’t even noticed the obvious bruises on his neck for crying out loud! Maybe it was because Iida hadn’t breathed a word to anyone but the people who were already there, and maybe the class hadn’t gotten suspicious because the class rep tended to be obnoxious about following rules to the letter. He’d also cleverly worn contacts that day instead of glasses to distract from his neck!
Still though, the entire faculty knew what the fuck was up with these kids but his very own fucking class 1-A didn’t?!?!
He’d even left a courting gift in the support lab and still didn’t get caught. Shota was ready to end it all.
Homeroom was about to start. Normally at this time his class rep would be screaming at people who were already in their seats to get in their seats. Tokoyami was sitting on a desk. And Iida fucking Tenya was pulling out his phone, smiling, and texting seconds before homeroom.
Either Iida fucking Tenya was a diabolical genius, or class 1-A were the stupidest motherfuckers on the planet.
Midoriya Izuku wondered how it had gone with Iida and his mate over the weekend, but hadn’t gotten a chance to talk to the blue-haired alpha about it. Luckily, he saw an opportunity at lunch when the only other people sitting at their table were Uraraka and Todoroki. The alpha was just unboxing his wrap from Lunch Rush when Izuku sat down.
“Iida, how did it go after the festival?” He asked.
His question put Uraraka on the edge of her seat, and even Todoroki looked interested.
“It went well. Hana’s heat threw me into a rut so I stayed in her dorm for the worst of it. I really enjoy her company.” The class rep replied, taking a bite out of his wrap.
Uraraka scoffed.
“Those weren’t nearly enough details! What happened?” she demanded.
Todoroki also cut in.
“I don’t know if I’m using this expression correctly, but I too am curious as to how she removed the stick from your ass.”
Iida choked on his lunch, and Izuku patted his back and passed his water bottle. Once his friend was in a fit state to speak, he began.
“We didn’t actually do that much.” Understatement but whatever, “I was, however, allowed in her nest, which is a great honor, and we talked and got to know each other. To answer your less-than-elegant question, Todoroki, I realized that I don’t have to hold myself to such a high standard in order to be appreciated as long as I’m doing my best. Taking that into account, I was taking my position as class representative too far, I believe.”
Todoroki nodded, as did Izuku. He was glad his friend had been able to gain some perspective, seeing as last time he’d stressed himself out enough to fly off the handle, he’d tried to murder the Hero Killer.
Uraraka was gaping.
“Hold on. She let you in her nest and you skate right by that? Iida, she must really feel comfortable around you.”
For the first time, their friend actually blushed.
“Well, the relationships between true mates tend to be a little more intense than normal bonds. I’ve certainly gotten very comfortable around Hana as well. We’re officially courting and I’m taking her shopping this weekend. She and her mother lived in Kamino and their apartment was destroyed, so I want to make sure my omega has what she needs.”
Uraraka was ready to explode.
“That’s so sweet, Iida! Oh my goodness I’m so happy for you. Can I meet her? I mean I’ve already met her when she was re-doing my costume but now I want to bring her to girls’ night!”
“Uraraka, I’d appreciate it if you could be a little more discreet. We’re not at a point where we’re comfortable with everyone knowing.”
Uraraka’s eyes widened more than they already had.
“Okay. No 1-A girls’ night. But I’m still tagging along with Hagakure when she goes to get her costume fitted.”
“Thank you.”
Midoriya got the sense that Todoroki still had something to say, and after a couple minutes of eating, the half and half boy said what was on his mind.
“I’m curious. If you didn’t go too far, then what are those bruises on your neck?”
Midoriya would have expected the normally prim and proper Iida to sputter and tell Todoroki how inappropriate the question was, but he was shocked when the class rep merely pulled his collar down with a finger.
“These?” their sheltered friend nodded at the evidence, “I didn’t say I was celibate.”
It was now Midoriya’s turn to choke and sputter helplessly.
Majima Higari had somehow become the most popular teacher in the faculty lounge, simply because he had the most up-to-date gossip of the new couple, from the latest courting gift to the requests to leave campus. The ginger was sitting at a low table, enjoying a decent cup of coffee and a donut. Then Present Mic and Ectoplasm waltzed in.
“Power Loader! Just the man we wanted to see!” The voice hero said in a surprisingly level tone.
“What’s up guys?”
“I was just talking to Shota, and apparently ¾ of class A has no idea their beloved class rep is mated to your brilliant student. I was talking to Midnight and Vlad King earlier, and the first-year teachers were thinking of putting together a little betting pool, what do you say?”
Majima quirked an eyebrow under his helmet.
“What exactly are you betting on? Because this sounds pretty interesting.”
“The first and last students to find out about the happy couple AND the way and time class A finds out. We’re thinking three separate pools.”
“Oh man you made this too easy, Mic! The next one to find out is going to be the kid that controls animals, the last one is the blonde explosion kid, and the entire class will find out once Invisible Girl spills the beans in like two months.”
Ectoplasm crossed the room to fish out three clear glass jars. The math teacher set about labeling them as Mic thought up his answers.
“I’m going to say the next one to find out is Tokoyami, the bird head kid. The last one to find out is the purple pervert, and the entire class finds out once there’s another villain attack and Iida freaks out about her safety or getting back to her or something. I’ll make the time ballpark three months.”
Ectoplasm cleared his throat and the two teachers turned to look as what he had set up. The three mason jars were labeled ‘next to know’ ‘last to know’ and ‘dramatic reveal’. The blue teacher himself started fishing for his wallet and dropping money into each one.
“I’m voting the next to know is going to be Frog Girl, the last to know is lightning boy, and the entire class finds out when they accidentally become affectionate with each other in public. At least six months.”
By the end of the day, all the bets were cast and every mason jar was overflowing with change. Nedzu had dumped his entire wallet into the last one because he was absolutely certain the class would find out on his newly-concocted parent visiting day. Everyone accused him of cheating but he was their boss and there technically hadn’t been a rule about not engineering an ideal situation.
The teachers had also learned that true mates couldn’t be apart for very long after their first shared heat/rut without physically suffering. Majima traded a look with Aizawa. They’d be encouraging their kids to sneak out whenever, huh?
The rest of the staff was actually losing their shit on lunch duty when the parents day announcement came on over the speakers. Nedzu hadn’t been kidding. He’d really made the event to win a bet.
That Saturday, Tenya picked his mate up in front of the 1-G dorms. He felt slightly ridiculous in the outfit Uraraka had picked out for him (jeans, white t-shirt, unbuttoned blue flannel and a leather jacket), but felt instantly better when Hana emerged and her face lit up upon seeing him. She too was wearing casual date attire; a long skirt paired with a blouse and the sneakers she normally wore with her uniform.
His omega immediately went in for a long hug, her arms wrapping around his waist and her scent heavenly as usual. She pulled away and stood on her tip toes for a kiss, which Tenya had to meet her halfway for.
“Good morning, darling.”
“Morning, alpha.”
“Tanaka is almost here so we’d better start walking. He’s the Iida family driver” he said, taking her hand and pulling her gently.
“The Iida family driver?” Hana asked incredulously, “You guys are rich enough to afford a family driver?”
It was then that Tenya truly realized how differently they had been raised. In the circles the Iida family typically ran in, having a driver or an exclusive service was a normal thing, almost to be expected. He wondered just how much money his omega would allow him to spend on her.
“Oh, um, yes. It’s convenient for everyone in the family, really. My parents get shuttled to and from the agency, I manage to have outings like this, and Tensei will have transportation to and from his appointments.”
“Huh, okay.”
Tenya introduced Hana and Tanaka, and they seemed to get along fairly well. He’d chosen to take her to the mall class 1-A had gone to before the summer training camp, as Uraraka pointed out that higher-end designer stores might be too much. The alpha also wanted to give his omega the freedom to choose her wardrobe, and the mall seemed to have more variety.
They arrived and thanked Tanaka before clambering out of the car. The mall was a bit crowded, and Tenya noticed his omega sticking very close to his side as they passed through common areas to a store she’d found interesting.
“Remember, omega: you have a whole wardrobe to refill and there’s no budget. I want you to get whatever you like.”
Hana nodded and disentangled her arm from her mate’s, still keeping a grip on his hand. Tenya noticed shopping bags in the front of the store and grabbed one so she didn’t have to carry all of her purchases. Tenya was content to just watch as she looked through racks and paused on certain items. Every so often, she’d glance back at him and Iida would nod encouragingly. Slowly but surely, her bag began to fill itself up.
“I think I’ve got a good selection of bottoms. Tops are over there.”
“Lead the way.”
Hana again began sorting through racks, and Tenya tried to encourage her as best he could, though he knew next to nothing about modern women’s fashion. A steady stream of t-shirts, blouses, button-downs and more made its way into the bag.
“What about sweaters and jackets so you don’t get cold?”
His omega nodded and trotted over to that particular section of the store. Tenya noticed that all of the articles she’d picked out tended to be more understated, neutral, and cool-toned colors. As part of his classical education, his fine arts teacher had drilled him on color theory until he was seeing color wheels in his dreams.
“They sell shoes here, but I think I’d want to go to a different store for those.”
“How about accessories? Though I don’t really know what you gravitate towards.” He said.
“Hmm. The jewelry here turns my skin green, but the hair stuff is good.” Hana replied
Tenya noticed that she was getting a lot of those fluffy hair band things.
“What are these ties called?” He asked, and her giggle made him feel a little better for not knowing.
“Scrunchies. I like them because they don’t rip my hair out. Hey, if you ever grow your hair out, we could experiment with different styles on you!”
Tenya laughed.
“I don’t know if I’d want anything too drastic, I’d just like to be able to tie it out of my face.”
They did another lap around the store, Hana putting some socks and things into the bag before they got to checkout. Tenya maneuvered her so she couldn’t even see the price and pocketed the receipt. They ended up with quite a few bags, and Tenya thanked the gods that Tanaka wasn’t needed elsewhere and had opted to stay in the parking lot. After dropping the first round of bags off, they went back into the mall, this time coming to a shoe store. Hana began to go to the women’s section before stopping abruptly.
“Kayama-sensei?” She asked the black-haired woman who was perusing the children’s section.
Tenya didn’t recognize her without her mask and showy costume, but the woman was definitely Midnight.
“Oh my goodness, well if it isn’t the faculty’s favorite couple! Togata, have you met these two?”
A blonde head popped up from behind a display.
“Oh yeah, totally! You’re the fast kid from 1-A, right? Placed third in the sports festival? And Suzuki, it’s good to see you again!”
Hana had been studying Togata’s hero costume for her own work on the chameleon fabric. They’d chatted a few times and the alpha was always very nice.
“Iida and Suzuki are the talk of the teachers lounge these days, not that I was supposed to tell you guys that.” The X-rated hero winked.
Hana decided she’d think about what that was supposed to mean later.
“We’re here getting some shoes for Eri. She’s staying with Aizawa and Present Mic in the teacher apartments for the time being,” The blonde said, turning to address the little girl, “Eri, would you like to meet some of Deku’s friends?”
Eri was adorable, and really familiar for some reason. Then it clicked. She’d been with Togata at the shooter booth during the festival. Hana released a calming scent, crouching down to the child’s level.
“It’s nice to meet you Eri. You won the big bear at the festival, right? Yeah, I thought I remembered you from somewhere. My name is Hana.”
“You smell really nice, Hana. Are you a ‘mega?”
The omega in question laughed and nodded.
“Yes I am. Have you met many omegas before?”
The girl shook her head no. Children normally didn’t formally present until they were at least 9 or 10, but there were certain tells in their personality and pup-scent that gave away their presentation. Omegas were normally the only ones able to tell with any accuracy, seeing as their sense of smell was the keenest of all the presentations. Eri seemed to be a future omega, in Hana’s humble opinion.
“Well, I’m glad to be one of the first. I live at UA too and you’re welcome to come and see me any time. Mirio knows where I am.”
Eri nodded, then leaned forward to whisper something in Hana’s ear. She giggled lightly and whispered back.
“Those are some cute shoes you were trying on; I think pink looks great on you.” Hana said, standing back up, “We’ll leave you guys to it. It was nice seeing you Kayama-sensei, Togata. Nice meeting you, Eri”
“Oh wait, Iida, Suzuki!” Midnight said cutting off their escape, “Just so you guys know, the teachers are really invested in you guys. I’m probably cheating by telling you guys this but there’s a bet going on as to when 1-A is going to figure out you’re together. Long story short, if your class figures it out at parents’ day then Principal Nedzu wins and we’ll all be really disappointed. Okay, tata! This conversation never happened.”
Then Midnight was shoving them out of the isle and Tenya and Hana were trading a look.
“I knew Majima-sensei and Aizawa knew, but is the whole faculty really in on our relationship?” Hana asked a bit rhetorically.
Her alpha seemed to be deep in thought, and Hana led him to the shoe section in the meantime.
“I can’t decide whether to be offended at this lack of professionalism or to find the situation amusing. The rest of my classmates really are oblivious sometimes,” He replied, pointing at a pair of slippers Hana was eyeing, “Get those, they look very comfortable.”
“This is a crazy idea but do you think Nedzu announced a parents’ visiting day on such short notice to win the bet? He can be quite the jokester with the staff.”
Tenya’s eyebrows raised.
“I’m not sure, though I wouldn’t put it past him. Speaking of parents’ day, however, my mother has expressed an interest in meeting you that day, as has my brother. My father is currently aiding in an overseas operation and will be absent through the day of the event. My mother wishes to have a meal with you that evening, and your mother is welcome to join if she can make it. You can say no, of course.”
Hana’s breath stopped.
“I don’t know… Just seeing today how rich your family is, are you sure they’ll like me? My mother works at hostess clubs, for crying out loud.”
Tenya could smell the sudden sour twinge in his omega’s scent and pulled her into a hug.
“My mother was overjoyed when she found out I’d met my true mate. Those months that I didn’t approach you out of fear she was nagging me to man up and be with you. Tensei isn’t the type to judge people based on class, either. You can always say no, but I really hope you’ll give it a thought.”
Her scent began to even out again and Tenya released his hold on Hana. Even though the mall was reasonably crowded, the two felt as if they were the only people in the world.
“I wouldn’t be opposed to it. My mom really wants to meet you, too. I’ll talk to her about dinner and see what she says.”
The alpha smiled and cupped her cheeks in a quick kiss.
“Good, I’m glad you’re alright. Now what sort of shoes do you need besides slippers?”
Nemuri Kayama had snapped a picture from across the way of the lovebirds smooching. She was practically giddy as she typed out a message to the teacher group chat.
Midnight - look at everyone’s favorites, spotted at the mall

Presentation Michael – gossip girl much, Nemuri? I’m not complaining though. Adorbs
Midnight – I may or may not have mentioned that they were being set up at parents’ day. Oopsie
Majima – Thank every god on this earth. We can’t lose yet.
Eraser – Nemuri, I hate you. Now they’re going to be all weird and on edge
Midnight – you’ll love me once I tell you that they were just talking about meeting the parents
Presentation Michael – NO WAY
Midnight – YES WAY
Once Eri had a few pairs of shoes she was comfortable with, Nemuri led the girl and Togata up to the counter. Aizawa had given her his credit card for the day’s purchases. It was just their luck that she finished checking out as soon as Iida did.
The five met again in front of the store, and Nemuri had a wicked idea.
“Look, boys. Eri and I need some ladies’ garments, if you know what I mean, and I’m sure miss Suzuki does as well.”
Iida’s eyes widened and a blush colored his cheeks at the implication. Togata simply studied his shoes. Nemuri smiled.
“Now I know that two young impressionable boys such as yourselves would be simply scarred by a ladies intimates store. How about the two of you sit tight while us girlies do our thing – my treat.”
Iida and Suzuki traded a glance, both seemingly realizing how hopeless it was to fight their teacher on her wishes.
“Hold on a sec, omega.” Iida said softly as he dropped the bags holding her shoes and shook his leather jacket off. Nemuri practically purred as the alpha draped his jacket over his omega’s shoulders. The kids were clearly not so inclined to display affection when people were right there watching them, but the way Suzuki squeezed his bicep in thanks was adorable.
“Alright then. I’ll be sure to bring her back in one piece.” Nemuri said.
Eri tugged on Hana’s skirt.
“Yes, sweetie?”
“It’s really loud and I can’t see where we’re going. Could you carry me?”
“Of course!”
Suzuki lifted Eri with slight difficulty, and it was the first time Midnight remembered that she didn’t actually have any hero training. She’d encountered all the first-year students for the short sex-ed class at the beginning of the year, and it was easy to forget who was who. The omega seemed to manage alright however, settling the girl on her hip and looking to Nemuri to lead the way.
“As much as I would love to bring you to a naughtier establishment, let’s go to a store that’ll sell basics in Eri’s size.”
The X-rated alpha hero got to see and hear the interactions between the student and the little girl and couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous. Aizawa and Mic were both busy and they’d all figured it would be nice to have a woman helping Eri and Togata shop. Eri had warmed to her well enough, but Nemuri just wasn’t good with kids. Hell, Eri had asked Suzuki to be the one to carry her, case in point. She knew that as an alpha, it would be unreasonable for her to be jealous of the way an omega handled the kid. Omegas were practically built for nurturing, and alphas were the rough and tough providers. In the modern age, the question of parenthood and non-traditional relationships had been called reexamined, but the consensus was still that omegas were the indisputable best caregivers.
“What’s that store in the middle of the street?” The girl asked.
“Well streets can’t really be inside; this is more of a hallway. But that stand sells a drink called boba. Have you ever tried it?”
Eri shook her head.
“Well, it’s like a fun, sweet tea that comes in all different flavors. Usually, it has milk in it too. But the special part of the drink is the little bubbles at the bottom. They taste a little like jelly and you have to chew them.”
The little girl made a face.
“Why would anyone want to chew a drink?”
“I’m not really sure of that myself. Maybe you can try it one day and see if you like it.”
Nemuri stopped them in front of the store she was after. It was more modest in its advertisements and focused more on underwear for every day wear than lingerie. They’d also carry things in child sizes.
“We’re here ladies! Eri, we can start with you. The things that fit you are just over here.”
“Wow! Look at all the colors, Eri! If you get a couple of packages of these, you could have every color of the rainbow.” Hana said.
Eri seemed a bit overwhelmed by all the options in the store and pointed to a couple packages quietly. Nemuri threw them in a bag while the little girl curled into Hana’s scent gland.
“Okay my little Suzuki. This is my treat, but you have to accept everything I pick for you. Deal?”
“Sounds alright to me, sensei.”
“Oh please, I’m buying you underwear and you’ll never have me as a teacher again, you can call me Nemuri.”
“Hana then.”
While Eri was seemingly checked out, Nemuri wandered over to the lacy matching sets.
“You strike me as someone who’d look amazing in red,” She said, looking the girl and the sets over carefully, “This is your correct size in panties, right? Thought so. Do you know your bra size?”
Hana shook her head.
“It’s been so long since I’ve shopped for them, I should probably get re-measured. Hey Eri?” She asked the girl, who let out a little whine, “I know you’re really liking my neck right now but one of the nice ladies at the store needs to measure me. You can help Nemuri look for fun colors and patterns for me to get.”
Nemuri couldn’t hear what the little girl said in reply, but it seemed positive as Hana lowered her to the ground. Eri immediately rushed over to Nemuri as a store attendant measured Hana. Upon hearing the girl’s bra size, Nemuri let out a low whistle.
“Wow, that’s impressive. So this is our first set and oh, what about some in dark blue? Your mate might appreciate that, right?”
“Whatever you think is best. Can we get something in a light purple, too?”
Eri ended up in Hana’s arms again, pointing at any pair of underwear that looked fun. Nemuri also picked out some ‘fun’ pieces, but balanced them out with seamless everyday wear. Midnight paid and the three made their way back to where they’d left the guys. They’d gotten pretzels, it seemed. Nemuri handed Hana’s bag to Iida with a wink. The alpha took it but refused to even peek inside. Meanwhile, Togata and Hana were puzzling over what to do with an attached Eri.
“Sweetie, it’s time to go now. Mirio is all ready to carry you.”
“Wanna stay here.” Came the little whine.
“Maybe it’s your scent, Suzuki.” The blonde alpha offered.
“I think you’re right. Hey Eri? If I scent Mirio’s jacket for you, will you be able to ride with him?”
The girl nodded and Togata was quick to remove his jacket, passing it to the omega. Hana scented it by rubbing the fabric over her gland a few times, making sure to release enough pheromones. Togata put his jacket back on and was able to take Eri from Hana.
“You’ll feel better if you rest for a little bit, Eri. Today was a big day.” The omega said in a soothing voice, kissing the girl’s temple.
Eri finally seemed to get comfortable in Mirio’s arms and Hana turned to Nemuri.
“Thank you so much, Nemuri. We’ll be sure not to let Principal Nedzu win the bet.”
The teacher let out a snort of laughter.
“Good. I’m holding you to that. Have fun with the rest of your date, Hana, Iida. It was nice seeing you!”
Tenya’s alpha had gotten restless seeing his omega interact with other alphas without giving him attention. He was also a bit eager to claim his omega with a mark and make a litter of pups, though that step was still years away. Hana made to remove his jacket when he stopped her.
“Keep it on. I want everyone here to know you’re mine.”
That got a doe-eyed look from Hana, and Tenya had to stop himself from kissing her hard in the middle of a crowded mall.
“I really like being wrapped in your scent, Tenya.” She replied.
“Seeing you with a child is making me want to give you one of our own.” He growled lowly in Hana’s ear.
The omega had to take a few seconds and compose herself. Tenya could feel the squeeze on his hand and he knew his words had an effect on her.
“I think I’ve gotten everything I need for now. Should we find somewhere to eat?” She asked, effectively changing to a safer subject.
They took a few minutes to look up nearby restaurants on Tenya’s phone and settled on an Italian place that didn’t look like it would take forever to serve a simple meal. Hana went to sneakily take one of her shopping bags from him but Tenya was quick to grab her hand out of the air and plant a kiss to her fingers with a cheeky “No.”
Lunch was nice, and the two teens were all shopped-out for the day, so they decided to head back to campus. Tanaka bid them farewell after supplying Tenya with a bigger shopping bag so he could carry all of the little shopping bags at once. Hana offered to help, but her alpha again declined her.
The 1-G dorms were pretty still when they arrived, and Tenya accompanied his mate back to her room. Hana tried everything on in her bathroom and it all fit perfectly. She handed him a pair of scissors and took one for herself, and the two started to cut the tags off of her purchases. Neither one of them made to address the still-full-to-the-brim bag from Midnight, but Tenya did assist his omega in hanging her purchases.
“I see you’ve incorporated your new blanket into your nest. I’m glad you like it.”
Hana smiled mischievously.
“I’d like it more if you could scent it for me, alpha.”
Half an hour later, Iida was walking into the class 1-A dorm. Uraraka was in the living room and shot him a quizzical look. Iida knew she wanted to ask about the date, but seeing as there were other people in the room, Tenya just shot her a subtle thumbs up and went to go change into athletic wear to get some training in.
The next few weeks were a flurry of hardcore training and activity and before anyone knew it, parents’ day had arrived. The plan Tenya and Hana had come up with was that their parents would visit their respective dorms and tour campus and meet teachers, and once everyone was ready to eat, they’d meet the parents and go to dinner.
Hana was excited to see her mother again for the first time in months. They’d spoken on the phone and texted consistently, but it really wasn’t enough.
The gates opened to parents at 10 a.m., and Minako arrived around 11, having driven from the new apartment, which was a bit far from Musutafu. Hana made the short walk down to the gate to greet her mother.
Minako was a short, spunky omega. She looked exceedingly similar to Hana, save for different eye color and lip shapes. Minako was more of a go-getter than Hana could ever be, having lost her mate when Hana was just a baby and taking on the responsibility of being a single omega parent. She was dressed in a coral pantsuit and sizeable heels, as was expected. Hana wasted no time in running up to her mother.
“Hey sweetie! I’d say you’ve grown, but we both know that ship sailed a long time ago. It’s so good to see you, cupcake! How’s tricks?”
“Mom we’re literally the same height! Everything has been good; I’m really excited for you to meet Tenya later.”
“I’m stoked to meet him too! I can’t believe my little girl is all grown up with a true mate. You’re gonna make me cry!”
Hana laughed at her mother’s attempt at humor and proceeded to show her to the 1-G dorm.
“Since we’re such a small class our layout is different from the other buildings and we all get our own showers, which is nice. Asami and I tagged along with Majima-sensei when he was buying all the kitchen stuff. It looks like he’s talking to Kaido’s parents so we’ll catch him later. My room is on the top.”
Minako opened the door of her daughter’s room and gasped.
“It’s really nice, sweetie. I love how you decorated. You mentioned a walk-in closet?”
“Oh yeah, it’s just in here.” Hana said, crossing the room and opening her closet door. Her nest still took up half the floor space, but then, so did Minako’s nest back home.
“Wow. I see that mate of yours got you all stocked up on clothes! Is that him I’m smelling?”
“Yeah. The blue blankets are from him and he was here during my heat and then a few times since.”
“I always knew true mates had a stronger bond, but it’s amazing to me that you could let him in your nest so soon! Is the thing about separation anxiety also true?”
True mates were rare, and not a lot of empirical studies had been done into the subject. The word-of-mouth stories described a stronger bond, more trust, better sex, an inability to be away from the other for long stretches of time, and a tendency to have bigger litters of pups.
“Yeah, it kind of is, though it’s supposed to get worse once we’ve bonded. For now, I just feel kind of itchy and restless when I haven’t seen him in a few days. Kind of feels that way today, actually.”
“Hmmm. Interesting. Is that what you’re wearing to dinner tonight?” Minako asked.
Hana looked down at her outfit and rolled her eyes. She was dressed casually in jeans, a long-sleeve shirt and Tenya’s jacket.
“No, but I don’t want to start trying to look good before I give you the tour. Let’s find Majima-sensei and then I can show you the support lab.”
The grand tour didn’t end up taking too long, and Minako was occupied talking to Asami’s parents while the girls got Hana ready. She opted for a skirt and complimentary top dressed down with a sporty jacket. Right on cue, her phone buzzed with a text from her mate; it was time to start heading down toward the gate. Minako and Hana started walking down, waving at familiar faces they passed. The Iidas were also just arriving to a secluded courtyard off the main path.
“These flowers are really pretty in the spring,” Hana murmured to her mother before her mate spotted them.
Tenya walked over and took her hand, before bowing to Minako.
“Hello ma’am. I am Iida Tenya and it is an honor to meet the woman who raised Hana.”
Hana’s mother shot her an impressed look.
“I know you said he was polite, but you really got a good one, didn’t you, sweetie? Stand up, Tenya. I’m delighted to meet my daughter’s mate, no need for all the formalities.”
Tenya straightened up and accepted the hug from Minako with a surprised look on his face, which made Hana giggle.
“Welcome to the family, sonny boy!” Minako exclaimed as she dragged her daughter into the hug as well.
“I think you can let us go now, mom.” Hana whispered.
“Oh that’s right! Go meet the nice boy’s mother, sweetie.”
Tenya smiled at his omega as he led her over to where his mother and Tensei were waiting a respectful distance away. The family resemblance was uncanny, really. They all had the same blue hair and souped-up legs. Mrs. Iida had a kind face and a pleasant scent, which helped put Hana at ease.
“Mother, I’d like to present Suzuki Hana, my mate.”
Hana dipped into a low bow.
“It’s so nice to finally make your acquaintance, ma’am. Your son has spoken very highly of you.”
“You’re very polite, that’s good. Stand up and let me have a look at you, Hana dear. Tenya has neglected to show us your picture.”
Hana faced the woman, who was smiling brightly.
“Oh, you’re beautiful. From what I’ve heard, you make my son very happy. The Iida family welcomes you.”
“Hey, what about me? Iida family member here who wants to meet her!”
The voice came from Tensei Iida, who was seated in his wheelchair a few feet away. Tenya laughed and led Hana over by the hand. The blue-haired man held out his hands, which Hana clasped gently.
“The name’s Tensei. It’s so nice to finally meet you, Hana! I’m glad my idiot brother finally worked up the nerve to approach you.”
“Tensei!” Tenya cut in from beside her.
“Oh whatever. I know that’s not what happened, can’t you see I’m trying to talk you up here man?”
“There’s no need for that, I think. Tenya’s already stuck with me.” Hana said.
Tensei laughed heartily. Hana was briefly surprised by his high spirits even in the wake of his run-in with the Hero Killer. Tenya had filled her in on everything from the attack to his misguided plot for revenge.
“Great! I always wanted a little sister! Let’s get moving though, I’m excited for dinner.”
Tensei led the way in his chair and the rest of their small party followed suit.
Dinner that evening was at a small Eastern European restaurant. Mrs. Iida said she’d chosen it because of the secluded seating, which was as close to a private room as one could reasonably get without reserving one.
The server led them to a small alcove with a booth pressed flush to the wall. Hana was sitting between her mate and the wall, Minako across her and Mrs. Iida across Tenya, with Tensei at the head of the table. The server brought out water and rather large mugs some sort of warmed wine or cider. Minako and Hana each took a sip at the same time and made similar faces of surprise.
“Wow, that’s strong stuff,” Minako said, trading a look with her daughter, “best to drink like, half of it.”
Hana felt the questioning looks from the rest of the table and made to explain.
“Omegas are really sensitive to alcohol and large doses can interfere with our hormones and scents. This drink very is nice, though.”
Tenya gripped her hand under the table and Hana squeezed it in return. Tensei seemed a bit curious.
“Wow, that’s kind of interesting. I knew omegas have some physiological differences, but I’ve never interacted with any for a significant period of time. Is there anything else like that?” The alpha asked.
Mrs. Iida shot her son a look.
“That might be a sensitive question, Tensei…”
Minako just chuckled lightly.
“Oh, it’s understandable. Not much is taught about the differences between the genders in schools due to some political debates a really long time ago. But to answer your question, omegas tend to be more sensitive to substances, like alcohol yes, but also most medications. We tend to go to omega-only doctors and such because they’re trained to handle the differences. There’s also not as much of a need for us to exercise because we don’t eat as much as the average person and metabolize sugar completely different than everyone else. We need more sleep, get cold easily, and don’t put on very much muscle. We tend to be smaller, shorter, whatever. We also have keener senses in general as a survival adaptation and then there’s the slew of psychological differences and behavioral patterns like nesting and omega depressions.”
The two alpha males and the beta Mrs. Iida looked surprised.
“They definitely don’t teach that in schools, all right.” Mrs. Iida said with a nervous giggle.
“Yes, and there are many reasons for that. Over the years the omega population has declined in most countries where alpha/beta and alpha/alpha marriages have been legalized. It’s not a bad thing that there’s marriage equality now, of course, omegas are just more likely to be born from an alpha/omega partnership. There just isn’t as much of a need anymore.” Minako said.
It was true, and there were a whole slew other reasons people generally didn’t know much about omegas that Minako touched upon briefly.
Omegas tended to stay away from large social gatherings or public places unless accompanied by an alpha, they usually didn’t work very much if they could be supported by a mate or their parents, they usually stayed home with pups and wouldn’t go out at all when pregnant unless absolutely necessary. Heats were another reason for omegas to stay inside, as were frequent alpha-on-omega and beta-on-omega assaults, which were often never reported.
Then there were the historical political debates on omega rights, with the Japanese government opting to not teach about omegas before college due to complaints from parents that omegas were either ‘being treated on an equal level to betas’ (given too many rights) or were being dehumanized. There were the people who still fetishized and thought of omegas as purely sexual objects, leading parents to not even want omegas in schools once they presented. The whole thing was very ugly. Luckily, omegas were allowed in most educational institutions and allowed to hold most jobs.
When quirks had manifested, there had been a new group to oppress, so omegas ended up getting human rights, if only accidentally.
“I’m kind of jealous about the whole sugar thing now,” Tensei said, making everyone smile, “I can’t even work out like I used to.”
“Alphas usually have quick metabolisms though, so you can get away with it.” Hana replied.
“Hmmm. Maybe I’ll get dessert…”
Tenya found himself anxious to be near his mate, even though she was seated next to him. He knew it probably had something to do with their connection as true mates. Hana had noticed it too, but when they went a few days without any contact, Tenya would begin to feel restless and aggravated. The only way that feeling would go away was prolonged physical contact with his omega.
Still, Tenya was nothing if not proper, and he was reluctant to preform public displays of affection in polite company. Their dates outside had been one thing, seeing as there was no one there that he knew, but the alpha was reluctant to do anything more than rest a hand on her thigh under the table. Hana seemed to pick up on his mood, her fingers tracing soothing shapes on his hand. If Tenya didn’t get quality time with his mate that night, however, he’d probably be breaking into the 1-G dorms for an impromptu sleepover.
They looked over the menus briefly and the server took their orders. Both Hana and her mother ordered the same light meal, which might have been related to them not needing to eat as much. Honestly, hearing the whole rundown of just physiological differences of omegas had been really educational. Tenya made a mental note to ask what basic pain or fever relief medications Hana used, just in case.
“Everything smells amazing.” Tensei remarked when the food finally came, and it did.
Everyone had started eating when the interrogation began.
“So, Hana, I hope my son has been treating you well.” His mother said, adjusting her glasses.
His mate froze for a second before responding.
“Yes, Tenya has been the perfect gentleman. I’m really lucky.”
“And he hasn’t been pressuring you into anything?”
Tensei rolled his eyes.
“Mom she already said he’s a gentleman.”
“I heard her, Tensei. I just want to know that my son can be the good man your father and I tried to raise.”
“He is, definitely. I would have rejected him if he wasn’t.” Hana cut in.
Tenya inwardly thanked her, having sensed a fight between his mother and brother. Ever since the incident, Tensei had been trapped at home, prone to more shows of aggression. He and his mother had been getting on each other’s nerves, from what Tensei had told him.
“Good. I’m glad you’re assertive like that, Hana. This industry can be brutal,” His mother said, “He’s been getting nice courting gifts for you, right?”
“Yes, they’ve been very well thought-out.”
Tenya hadn’t been quite sure what to get for his mate as far as courting gifts went. The first thing he’d gotten her was the blue blanket he’d left in the support lab. The alpha had gotten the idea after hearing the omega whine about having to find new nesting materials. Then of course there had been the shopping trip he’d taken her on, but he considered that more of a date than a gift. She had mentioned at the mall that the jewelry there turned her skin green.
Tenya was not ashamed to admit that he’d looked through her public Pinterest boards. He’d gotten a few rings she’d saved. She was wearing a couple tonight, he noticed. They didn’t have any stones, though. Tenya was alright with that, seeing as he’d gotten the ideas from her account and he wanted the first ring with a precious stone he got for her to be an engagement ring.
He’d also gotten her a couple of new stuffies, which she really enjoyed.
“They did a good job on this mushroom soup, right sweetie?” Mrs. Suzuki asked Hana, and his mate nodded.
Tensei Iida approved of his little brother’s mate. The older Iida son had spent the last few months hearing about Hana from his brother, and the retired hero could see why he was so enamored with the omega.
She was sweet, and could be really funny when she wanted to be. She was also perceptive, knowing exactly when to redirect the conversation to avoid awkward pauses confrontations between Tensei and his mother. Tensei didn’t even feel as tightly-wound around his mother as he usually did, and that probably had something to do with the scents of the two omegas at the table. Tenya obviously adored her; he’d never seen his brother smile so much or go so long without doing his nervous hand-chopping thing.
Their dessert arrived and everyone dug in. Tensei’s mother and Mrs. Suzuki were making light conversation, but Tensei was listening in on his brother.
“That looks really good, what does it taste like?” Hana asked softly.
“It is really good; tastes like honey. Would you like to try it?”
Damn. When did his little brother become such a smooth motherfucker?
“Really?”
“Of course. Here,” Tensei pretended to be minding his own business and checking his phone, but he was really just watching as Tenya leaned over, fork in hand, and fed his mate, “What do you think?”
Tensei had to find himself an omega to do couple shit with, dammit. Hana was chewing and Tensei had to strain to hear her reply.
“It’s good. Wanna try mine?”
“Sure, ‘mega”
Hana turned around and cut a generous forkful of her cake, lifting it to him. Tenya ducked his head to meet her halfway, and Tensei almost downloaded Tinder. He needed a significant other. Tensei tuned back into the mothers’ conversation and they were telling each other stories about the teens as babies. Okay, Tenya had swallowed his mouthful.
“Delicious,” he said, dragging Hana closer by the waist, “I miss you.”
She bumped into his chest
“I’m right here, alpha.”
“You know that’s not what I mean.”
“Yeah.”
Tensei was scrolling through his Insta feed, dropping a like on Mirko’s latest gym pic, when he heard the smooch. His eyes snapped up to see his brother planting a kiss on his omega’s temple. Damn. He wanted something juicy.
On the way back to drop Tenya and Hana back off at UA, Tensei noticed that the two were sitting much closer together than was necessary for the space, but he wasn’t going to say anything. Mrs. Suzuki’s car was also parked by the school, so the three said their goodbyes to Tensei and his mother.
Hana was a bit sad to see her mom go, though she knew she’d gotten more out of this parents’ day than most of her classmates. Minako wordlessly engulfed her daughter in a hug.
“I miss you, bug. Come visit the new place one of these weekends, okay? Bring the hunk.”
“Okay momma.”
Minako pulled back to address Iida.
“You’re a good guy; I know you won’t fuck it up. Take care of my baby for me, okay?”
“Yes, ma’am I’ll do my very best.” He replied with a bow.
Minako reached out to cup Tenya’s face. Hana felt him getting flustered so she squeezed her mother one last time before stepping back.
“My car is thattaway. Come visit!” She said before turning around and starting away.
Hana and Tenya waved one last time at the Iida family limo and turned to walk back through the gates into UA. Now that they were alone, Hana was practically molded into her alpha’s side.
“Just come back to my dorm with me; people are going to ask where you were anyway.” She whined, feeling her alpha laugh.
“I’m not letting you go until I have to, my omega.”
It really had become too easy to just enter the 1-G dorms with her alpha mate and walk into her top floor dorm room without being bothered. The support course students were well aware of Hana’s relationship, but knew not to talk about it outside of the dorms or support lab. They knew about the teacher betting pool as well, courtesy of Majima-sensei, who was bound and determined to win.
Hana turned on her neon wall light, bathing the room in a soft blue glow. As per usual, the omega kicked off her shoes and shed her jacket, motioning for Tenya to do the same, and she led him by the hand to her nest. They got comfortable, and Hana was seated in her alpha’s lap.
“Finally; I’ve needed to be closer to you all day.” Tenya growled, pulling her even closer by her hips.
Hana smiled and leaned down to capture his lips in a long kiss. Her alpha had been getting bolder recently, and he started massaging her tongue with his own before flipping them over so he was on top. They still weren’t really ready to go all that far, so half an hour later saw the couple holding each other comfortably.
Shota Aizawa had an interesting tidbit for the teacher group chat the next day.
Eraser – guess who wandered in to the dorms early this morning wearing last night’s clothes
Majima – I HAD NO IDEA HE WAS EVEN HERE WTF
Midnight – Your students are getting way too good at this, guys. I’m so proud of them.
TIME SKIP – SUMMER BEFORE THIRD YEAR – I FUCK WITH THE JAPANESE SCHOOL YEAR, THE TIMELINE, THEIR AGES… FUCKING EVERYTHING DUDE
Tenya had called her while she was working late in the support lab one evening. Hana just picked up the call on her headphones at let him explain while she was making a model of some boot soles she’d be fabricating.
“My mother just called me.”
“Yes?”
“She said she’s giving us the summer house to use for a few weeks. I know you also wanted to visit your mother but we can schedule around that. I know we were talking about the first time being special and private and not at school or anything, and I think this would be a good time; if you agree of course.”
“That sounds amazing, alpha. Aren’t you not supposed to go on trips though?”
“Since we’ve dealt with the league and there isn’t a looming threat like there’s been in the past, Aizawa told us the rule would be relaxed. The first week of break is a mandatory training camp for the hero course, though. But even if he tries to tell me no, I’m citing extenuating circumstances and going to Principal Nedzu.”
“Wow, plotting to undermine your teacher’s authority. You’re quite the rebel, Tenya.” Hana replied, giggling and exporting her molds to the 3-D printer.
“I’ve been waiting long enough to claim you; nothing is going to stop me when an opportunity like this just falls in our laps.”
“No, I agree,” Hana checked the other components of her shoes and nodded in satisfaction, “How is it possible that nobody else in your class has found out about us? You know I don’t mean to offend when I say this; but you’re kind of obvious about us.”
“There have been other things to think about I suppose. But yes, I did not expect for us to outlast all of the bets the teachers made on us. They all only gave us a year before class A found out, right? Between us though, I think Tsuyu might already know. She spends enough time around Midoriya, Uraraka, Todoroki and I that someone must have let something slip by now. If she knows she hasn’t said anything though.”
“That’s an interesting theory; I like it. At this point, I think it would be kind of funny if we started dropping hints.” Hana chuckled.
“It would be nice if we just stopped sneaking around. We don’t even have to hide from the teachers, and my classmates have started showing interest in other people, and each other. It’s not like my being in a relationship would rock the boat too much…”
“I think you’re overestimating your classmates there, honey. I haven’t spent as much time around them as you have, of course, but they seem to think of you as the awkward, intense virgin who bosses them around.”
“Well I hopefully won’t be after this summer.”
Hana had to swallow a cackle.
“No you will not. I’ll talk to my mother about dates we can visit. Do you think it would be a good idea if I went ahead while you were in training, then you could swing by and take me to the summer house? We could definitely spend a few days in Osaka with her.”
“I don’t know if it’s a good idea to be separated for that long, but that seems like the most efficient use of time considering I don’t have a choice about the training.”
“Alright. I’ll talk to her and ask about her schedule. I love you, alpha.”
“I love you too omega. Get enough rest tonight.”
The end of the school year was upon them without much fanfare. Class A barely even got to throw a party because they were being shuttled to a remote training camp. Tenya had left the class party early under the guise of trying to get more sleep. Really though, he was visiting Hana.
The next day the trains were absolutely flooded with UA students starting home for the summer. Hana was relieved she’d had her things shipped ahead last week, because the trains were so crowded with students and their stuff that Hana could hardly breathe. Thank goodness Tenya had scented one of her jackets and she’d put on scent patches, because Hana probably would have gotten out of the trains and taken a taxi at the first stop if she didn’t have her alpha’s scent wrapped around her.
When she arrived in Osaka, she took a cab to her mother’s new apartment and rang the bell. The outside was pretty nice, and Minako answered the door with a yawn and a smile.
“Hey sweetie! I just woke up so you’re right on time! Come in!”
Hana saw the apartment, and it was really nice. There were some colorful toys, a tiny bed, and a litterbox in one corner.
“Mom are you getting a cat?”
“I am! I wanted to wait until you got here so we could go to the shelters together.”
“That’s so great.”
Training camp was hell by the fourth day, when Tenya was feeling the itch to see his mate. He almost just ran to Osaka, planning to use training as an excuse for when he was inevitably discovered missing. Aizawa gave him a knowing look however, and Tenya nixed the idea.
The camp itself was six days of hell. Class A had to push their quirks to the max, trying to surpass the levels they’d gotten to at the summer training camp back during their first year before they were attacked. Class A spent the last day playing games, sitting around a campfire, and reminiscing.
“Man, I can’t believe we’re going to be third years! It feels unreal. I’m not ready to be an adult.” Kaminari said.
Yaoyorozu, after much begging, had created liquor, and everyone was passing around a few bottles.
“I am!” Uraraka said, “I cannot wait to be independent and have a place of my own. I might have to have roommates after we graduate though.”
“I’ll live with you Ochaco!” Mina said, pumping her fist a few times, “We can all still visit and hang out and stuff; it’ll be great!”
“Could I live there too?” Jirou asked.
Yaoyorozu short-circuted, and Iida knew exactly what she was thinking.
“Sure!” Mina said.
Off to the side, Todoroki took a few swigs of his rum, turning to Tenya.
“Iida, I guess I never thought about it, but what are you going to be doing after graduation?” The half-and-half boy asked quietly.
Izuku was the only other one who had heard, and he turned in with a quizzical look.
Tenya adjusted his glasses.
“I’m already set up to work at the family agency. It all depends on where Hana ends up working. The Iida compound is big enough for Hana and I to have our own space.”
Izuku nodded.
“It seems crazy that you’re going to be mated and living together straight after school, but you guys have been together for so long that I guess it makes sense. And you’re true mates, so that must make things easier.”
“Indeed it does.”
Mina and Jirou had broken off into another conversation, and Uraraka and Yaoyorozu turned to talk to the boys.
Once the novelty of Iida being in a relationship had worn off, the five other members of class A who knew were good at being discreet. They weren’t much bothered by having to keep the secret either, seeing as it was Tenya’s business.
“After the summer, we’ve agreed to start dropping hints to see how long it takes everyone to catch on. I don’t know if I mentioned this or anything, but the teachers made bets about when the rest of the class would find out, and we’ve managed to outlast all of them.”
“That’s actually hilarious. What did Mr. Aizawa bet?” Shoto asked
Tenya thought for a moment.
“I think he bet that All Might would accidentally let it slip six weeks in.”
The rest of the class looked over, puzzled at seeing the Dekusquad laughing their asses off.
The second the bus drove them back up the mountain to the train station, Tenya waved to his friends, exchanged brief hugs, and dipped. He was on the same train as Sato and Tokoyami for a while, but they got off before he had to.
He got off at the station and from there took a cab to Minako’s. Tenya didn’t even have to knock before his mate was throwing the front door open and bowling him over in a huge hug. Tenya dropped his bag with the stuff he’d taken to the training camp and buried his face in his omega’s neck, taking in her scent.
“Missed you, alpha.”
“I missed you too darling.”
Tenya had gotten taller since his first year of high school, and he towered over Hana now, so much so that she’d taken to jumping just so they could have better hugs. The alpha walked them into the apartment, closing the door and putting his mate down. She grabbed his collar and pulled him down into a quick kiss before calling out to her mother.
“Oh, Tenya! You got here quickly! Welcome.”
“Hello Mrs. Suzuki. You have a very nice home.”
“Thank you. Have you met Mochi yet? Hana and I just picked her out a few days ago.”
“No, I haven’t,” Tenya said, suddenly feeling a small warm thing twisting around his ankles, “Is this Mochi?”
Tenya looked down to see a little white cat peering up at him with big green eyes.
“She’s just a few weeks old, we rescued her from a shelter where someone had left a box of them on the side of the road.” Hana said, bending down to pick the kitten up and show her to her alpha.
“She’s very cute.”
“Well kids, I’m going to leave you to your own devices for a few hours and take a nap. I had a late night last night. Go explore and eat somewhere!”
“Okay mom!”
“Have fun!”
Minako then entered her bedroom with a wave and started settling in. Hana turned to her mate again, still cradling the kitten in her arms.
“How was training camp?” She asked quietly, leading Tenya into the kitchen to make tea.
“It was quite rewarding, though I think I’ll have to pull my mufflers again this summer to keep up with the strain that’s being put on them.”
Tenya saw Hana frown.
“I get why you do that, but I don’t like seeing you in pain.”
Tenya came up behind her and wrapped an arm around his mate’s shoulders.
“I know. But it comes with the hero territory I suppose. Have you eaten yet today?”
“No. I was going to wait and see where you wanted to go.”
“How about we walk into town and find a place?”
“That sounds good.”
Hana put Mochi in her little cat bed that Minako had bought, and the kitten quickly fell asleep. The pair then left the house hand in hand and began to make the short walk into town. The restaurant they settled on was an old-style noodle shop. Tenya paid, as always, and the couple explored a little bit more until it was time to head back to the apartment. By the time they arrived, Minako was already getting ready to go to work. Tenya and Hana opted to sprawl out on the couch and watch reruns of an old American television program. Mochi had climbed onto the couch via Tenya’s pant leg, and was now purring softly on Hana’s chest.
His omega was cooing at the white kitten, and Tenya was again reminded of how nurturing and capable his mate would be as a mother.
Aizawa still had custody over Eri, and he and Present Mic were often very busy. Togata had gone back to school for a degree in electrical engineering, preparing for the very real possibility that he might not ever regain his quirk and be able to work as a hero. When there wasn’t someone to watch the girl, Aizawa had taken to dropping her off with Hana, even in the middle of the school day.
Eri had formed a bond with Hana. The running theory among Aizawa, Mic, and Togata was that one of her parents had been an omega, and Eri was subconsciously associating Hana’s scent with that of her lost family. Hana was the first omega that Eri could actually remember who was kind and supportive, so the girl had latched on with a certain ferocity that meant it was sometimes hard to drag her away.
Hana hadn’t been complaining about it though, and the omega enjoyed introducing the child to new foods and cartoons and just hanging out. Eri had also been the only other person besides Tenya to be allowed in Hana’s nest. Naturally, as both Eri and Tenya spent a lot of time with Hana, the alpha had gotten to know the girl as well. She was very cute, if a bit shy.
Tenya loved seeing the way his mate interacted with Eri because he knew she would be a great mother someday, and he was reminded of that again as he saw her playing with Mochi.
“I love you, omega.” He said quietly.
Hana looked up and smiled.
“I love you too, alpha.”
The couple spent a couple days with Minako before Tanaka, the Iida family driver, came to pick them up to take them to the Iida summer home. The family actually had several homes, the primary one being the Iida compound. There was the summer beach house, where they were going, the winter cabin, some sort of lodge in Europe, a New York penthouse, and a slew of other apartment buildings they rented out as a source of passive income.
When Hana had first started courting Tenya, she knew he came from money, of course, seeing as he constantly bought her the nicest things that she would allow him to. Hana had been under the impression that the Iida family fortune had come from the four generations of pro heroes, but she hadn’t known that the Iidas were rich well before the advent of quirks. The compound was an old, though very well maintained, estate that had been in Musutafu before it was even a city. Each Iida family member was given a massive allowance that didn’t even scratch the surface of their wealth, and then there was all of the revenue that was coming in from heroics, real estate holdings, and stocks. Really, the Iidas never had to work a day in their lives, but they had still chosen the noble profession of heroics.
Knowing Tenya and Tensei though, Hana was surprised that they didn’t seem the stereotypical rich heirs, and they were humble and hardworking and never threw their money around to get things. Compared to others Hana had met, like Yaoyorozu Momo, Tenya had never had the air of being raised above the common folk, though he was a stickler for rules and proper conduct. Not to say Yaoyorozu was a bad person, she had just obviously been raised in a very privileged environment which had impacted her social development a tad.
The car ride would take a few hours, and Hana and Tenya made light conversation with Tanaka before the omega opted to lay down in her alpha’s lap and snooze. Tenya’s hand immediately came to stroke her hair, and the alpha pulled a blanket over his mate. He himself put on some headphones and listened to an educational podcast.
A few hours and a rest stop later, the car was pulling up at a lavish house on the beach. Tenya gently woke his omega with a few light taps and pulled his bag out of the trunk. It was just the duffle he had brought to training, as he and Hana had shipped the things they would be needing ahead of time.
“The house was just cleaned from top to bottom and fully stocked with food a day ago, and the pool and hot tub were prepared for use. The beach bungalow is just a short walk away and has a breathtaking view from what I’ve heard. There’s also a fully-gassed car in the garage for when you need to go to town for anything. Your things should be waiting just inside the door. The security system can be disarmed using your phone, I believe, and the pin to manually disable it is your birthday.”
Tenya pulled out his phone and opened the app that the Iida family used to sync their security systems on all of their properties, disabling the alarm.
“Thank you, Tanaka; you’ve been really great today. Will you also be picking us up in a few weeks?” Tenya asked as Hana took in the view of the ocean.
“Yes. You have my number to inform me of the exact date and time of your departure and I’ll be here.”
Hana finally turned toward Tanaka and smiled.
“Thank you so much for everything Tanaka. You’re always so accommodating.”
The older man chuckled lightly and made to get back in his car.
“Congratulations you two. Have a great time.”
Tenya nodded and scooped his mate into his arms, intending on fulfilling the tradition of carrying one’s beloved through the doorstep of a new home. It wasn’t technically their new home, but seeing as it was the place where they’d finally be fully bonding and mating, the alpha thought it appropriate.
Hana simply laughed and held on, fishing the key from Tenya’s pocket and unlocking the door, seeing as her alpha had his arms full.
“Welcome to the summer house! I’ve been here a few times on vacations with the family, though everyone has been so busy that it’s been a quite a few years since we’ve been here. I heard they rented the house out for summers when we weren’t planning on coming, but it was completely refurbished recently. There’s a ramp out back and an elevator.” Tenya said as Hana took in the house.
The foyer they walked into was huge, with a modern light fixture affixed to the high ceiling. There were large windows in the living room, where the couches were placed to face the ocean. Spread through the space were fresh arrangements of red and white roses, which added a very romantic touch to the atmosphere. Just along the way there was a full western-style kitchen, complete with a huge refrigerator and an island. Hana could see two sets of stairs on either side of the room, and a few hallways leading this way and that. The décor was modern and airy, with cute grey-patterned carpets and chrome detailing on lights, doorknobs, and coat pegs by the door.
Tenya was exchanging his shoes for house slippers and he tapped Hana, leading her to sit down on a bench as he removed her shoes, exchanging them for slippers.
“I feel like Cinderella. This place is beautiful. Tenya. We’ll need to thank your mother.”
Her alpha smirked lightly.
“Only the best for my lovely omega. Though we’re not going to be thinking of other people for a little while.” True to form, Tenya’s sext face changed to an analytical one, which Hana always found cute. “I’d like to unpack first before we do anything, and you need a tour. Oh, and we should think about dinner. The convenience store food was nice, but I’m going to be hungry again soon.”
Hana agreed, and Tenya brought the boxes with their things to the elevator, only allowing Hana to take one measly bag.
The second floor was just as nice as the first, and Tenya bypassed all the doors in the hall to lead her to the master suite, lightly pushing the boxes with his foot. He opened the door and Hana’s breath caught in her throat. The suite was gorgeous, with huge windows again facing the ocean, which could be seen from two whole sides of the room. The opposite side was what was obviously a huge walk-in closet, and there was another doorway leading into the bathroom.
Hana walked toward it slowly, her jaw dropping to the floor when she saw it. It was more of a grotto than a restroom, really. The ceilings were made of a rich, dark wood, and the entire center of the room was devoted to a sunken black bathtub surrounded by what seemed to be a ring of small pebbles, with many candles dotted around the rim of the tub. Eve briefly wondered who had put them there, but she allowed her mind to wander toward the artful stone pillars dotted around the room. Another doorway led to an actual bathroom with a sink and a toilet and a huge shower in the same black stone as the tub with multiple overhead showerheads and a couple of benches.
Hana heard her mate coming over and sighed in contentment as his arms wrapped around her.
“I think my mother mentioned leaving us some things in here,” He said, unwrapping himself from around his mate and crossing over toward a cabinet. Sure enough, there were a variety of bath and hygiene products.
Tenya went back into the grotto with the tub and opened another small closet. Hana was surprised to see what looked like a minifridge, which Tenya opened to see containers of red rose petals, being stored in the cool fridge so they didn’t wilt. There were also a couple of glasses chilling in there as well as a few cans of various drinks. Above the fridge, a bottle of champagne was resting on a shelf next to more candles and a few lighters.
Hana went to see closer and opened another closet. They were the same color as the tan walls and blended in so seamlessly that Hana barely would have known there was storage there had Tenya not pointed it out.
In this closet, there were towels, and in the next, there were at least 50 bath bombs and something Tenya pulled out.
“Highly concentrated bubble bath pods. Place 2 to 3 under warm running water when filling bath and allow to dissolve. Enjoy relaxation. Look, darling there’s different scents.”
Hana did look, and she saw color, coordinated little pods, not unlike the laundry detergent her mother used. They were indeed color coded and labeled.
“That’s so interesting. I’ve never seen a bubble bath thing like this before.”
Tenya nodded in agreement, putting the pods back in the closet.
“Shall we go see what’s been left for us in the kitchen? I find myself a bit thirsty.”
Sure enough, the kitchen had been fully stocked with food products, from microwavable noodles to frozen microwavable meals to actual fruits and vegetables in case they wanted to cook. Both Hana and Tenya knew their way around a kitchen and were eager to try new recipes. The pantries had things for baking, pastas, dry beans, canned soups, and several different types of canned sodas, teas, and flavored water. There was also a small room that housed wine and other spirits. There was milk, plant-based milk, eggs, some meat, fish, and poultry, yogurt, and other drinks and condiments in the fridge.
It didn’t seem like they’d need to restock their food much in the time they spent at the summer home.
Tenya grabbed a water and a protein shake, while Hana opted for a can of tea. He gave her a tour of the rest of the house, and Hana saw the other bedrooms, home gym, theater, library, and game room. The couple went back to the master bedroom to put away their clothes in the massive closet while discussing what they would have for dinner.
The alpha had wandered away to place a spare pair of glasses and his phone charger on one of the nightstands by the bed, and Hana heard his voice carrying into the closet.
“I was thinking we could prepare some of the chicken with pasta, spinach and tomatoes. I’m thinking about a meal I’ve had before at an Italian restaurant- OH!”
The omega immediately dropped her things and rushed out to her mate, though there wouldn’t be much she could do in an emergency anyway. Tenya seemed fine, if a bit shocked.
“Alpha? What’s wrong?”
Her words seemed to shock her mate out of his stupor.
“Oh, nothing’s wrong, I was just seeing all of the things that were in this drawer.”
Hana squeezed under his arm to look and let out a surprised laugh. Staring up at them were an array of condoms, lubricant, what looked like vibrators, and two sets of handcuffs? Hana went to check the other side of the bed to see more of the same, as well as what looked like omega-friendly emergency birth control pills. She was briefly reminded of the fact that she’d opted to go off her heat suppressants for the duration of their vacation. When she’d told Tenya about her idea, he’d sputtered for a bit before agreeing, and he was also going to be taking a lower dose of rut-suppressant. Hana had also gotten a birth control implant put in, which would last for three years, at which point they could discuss pups further.
“Well, it should all come in handy I suppose. Were you planning on telling me you wanted to handcuff me? I would have brough rope…” Hana said with a laugh.
Wordlessly, Tenya reached farther into the drawer and pulled out a few lengths of rope. Hana’s laughter died in her throat.
The omega didn’t want to think about why all of that stuff was in the drawer. The emergency birth control had obviously been put there for them, seeing as it said ‘formulated for omegas’ on the box. The condoms were also fresh, judging from the expiration date.
Mrs. Iida had been the one to order all of their things for the restroom, as she’d said, and the woman had also texted Hana to ask about her measurements. Hana could see why, as there were nightgowns and a couple of swimsuits waiting for her in the closet. At this point, it was fair to assume she’d been the one to order all of the roses and possibly the sex toys as well. Were her mate’s parents kinky?
Tenya seemingly had the same train of thought, and he dropped the rope like it had burned him.
“Shall we go cock dinner?” He asked.
“You mean cook?”
“What did I say?”
“You asked if we should ‘go cock dinner’.”
“…”
They washed their hands, and Tenya tied on a ‘kiss the cook’ apron as he pulled out pots, pans, and a cutting board from the cabinets.
“Would you like to put on some music, omega?”
“Sure. I think my phone is dying, can I use yours?”
“Go ahead. I think there’s a Bluetooth speaker system in here you can connect to.”
Hana grabbed her mate’s phone out of his pocket at he cut chicken into small strips and heated up a pan with some oil. She scrolled through his phone, looking for Pandora and putting on the smooth jazz station. The Bluetooth speakers worked when she tried to connect to them.
“You have a text from Midoriya, babe. And Uraraka.”
“Could you read them to me, please?”
“Sure. Midoriya is asking how your summer is so far and sharing a picture of Dagobah beach. Uraraka said ‘Omg Tenya are you at the beach house yet with Hana? How are you? How is she? Have you done it yet?’. There’s also a ton of messages on your class chat. Oh, and your mom wants to know how we like the place.”
Tenya looked up from where he was filling a pot with water.
“Midoriya and Uraraka can wait. I’m not planning on checking the class chat either, but could you tell my mother that everything looks amazing, I now know more about her personal life than I ever needed to know, and that we’re cooking dinner?”
“Sure. Okay, I sent it. I told her it was me because you were cooking. Should I set the table?”
“Yes, please. And could you start cutting the cherry tomatoes in half when you’re done?”
“Course.”
Hana decided that they’d eat at the bar section of the kitchen island, seeing as the formal dining room was way too big for two people. She found placemats and utensils and large, low bowls for their meal. When she was finished, she moved a vase of roses out of the way so they’d actually be able to see each other, and went to start slicing tomatoes.
Dinner was done relatively quickly. Tenya put butter and the tiniest amount of parmesan cheese on the pasta, as well as some olive oil. The chicken, spinach, and tomatoes all got tossed in, along with quite a bit of basil.
Tenya took off his apron, but not before collecting a long kiss from Hana, citing its wording as the reason.
“This smells really good, alpha. I can’t believe you did this all without a recipe.”
Tenya blushed lightly, adjusting his glasses.
“Well, recipes usually have too much pasta and not enough of everything else, so we would have had to change it anyway.”
They ate, talking lightly about their day and what parts of their vacation they were excited for. After dinner was done, the two worked in tandem to load the dishwasher and wash what couldn’t fit. Tenya grabbed his phone, shot light texts to Midoriya and Uraraka, and looked at her briefly.
“I think I’m going to get a workout in once the food settles. I don’t know if there was something you wanted to do in the meantime?”
They ended up watching an episode of their favorite old American sitcom before Tenya went to get changed. Hana pulled out her tablet and looked over a design Hatsume had sent her. Even though school was out, that girl never stopped working for a second. Her alpha’s musky scent washed over her, sweaty from his workout, and Hana’s own scent twisted to one of arousal. The omega knew she’d be in pre-heat by tomorrow, considering the timing of her last heat suppressant pill. They’d agreed that the best time for their first time would be when Hana was in heat, but that didn’t stop Tenya’s eyes from darkening.
“Would you like to take a bath with me, omega?”
“Yes please, alpha.”
They went quickly up the stairs, picking a milk-and-honey scented bubble pod and putting a few of them in the bath while it began to fill up. Hana and Tenya changed into dressing gowns in their shared closet and made their way to the tub to wait.
Over the course of their relationship, they’d gotten used to seeing the other naked in both sexual and non-sexual senses. They were still technically virgins, but even that was pushing it. Tenya had spent nearly all of her heats taking care of Hana, and they’d stripped down often enough that there was no longer shame in seeing the others’ bodies.
That didn’t stop Hana from being impressed, however. Tenya was a tall guy with very well-defined muscles. He had to be fit, after all, to be a pro hero. His legs in particular were huge, and if Hana wasn’t so much smaller than him in general, she might have been a little jealous of his glutes. She was sitting by the tub and thinking as her mate started to light candles and dim the lights. Soon enough, the bath was full, glistening white bubbles making tiny popping sounds as they both shook off their robes and stepped into the water via the small staircase leading down into its depths.
Hana sank in with a small groan, the water coming to cradle her like a hot blanket, and Tenya did the same, a defined arm hooking around her waist and pulling her backwards into his chest. The omega thought of something.
“Are there nesting supplies here? It slipped my mind.”
“Yes, omega. I saw some in the closet earlier.”
“Good, good. Okay, I’m going to stop talking and relax now.”
The bath was warm and luxurious, and the alpha and omega stayed wrapped in each other’s embrace until their skin started to prune and Tenya reached for the products they’d laid out.
“Are you going to wash your hair tonight, omega?”
“Probably not. We’re going to be on the beach tomorrow, right? I’m just going to have to wash the salt out of it again then.”
“Alright. Turn around so I can get your back.”
Hans hummed in agreement as Tenya began to lather up a bar of her favorite soap, using a washcloth to work the suds through his omega’s skin.
Tenya loved taking care of his mate, due both to his alpha instincts and his natural protective nature. Hana was the type of person to spend long hours in the support lab and forget to take a break, especially when she was on a creative streak. Tenya, on the other hand, had his morning and nighttime rituals basically set in stone.
He had finished his omega’s back and moved on to her arms and front, taking extra care around her pillowy breasts. Hana leaned back into him and sighed.
“You seem kind of tired today.” The alpha said, running the washcloth over her legs, “Do you think it’s because of your pre-heat?”
On cue, his omega yawned.
“Maybe. I was also up kind of late last night watching the new I-Island support releases and reading their research. Kenji, Hatsume, Bato and I were talking about them together, too.”
Tenya frowned.
“They’re alphas and betas, they can afford to stay up later. You need sleep, darling.”
“I know, I know. But their nuclear fission research was so interesting and detailed, we were all talking about being able to streamline our work and create a less-cumbersome silhouette for support items. I’ll leave it alone until tomorrow though.”
“You’d better.”
Hana turned around and went to grab another liquid soap and a washcloth, starting in on her mate’s chest. It took her a little while to get all of his body.
“Lean back so I can get your hair.”
Once they were clean, Tenya leaned in and brushed his nose against his mate’s, capturing her lips in a sensual kiss. Hana let out a small groan and allowed her mouth to fall open, her alpha’s tongue caressing hers. Hana kissed her mate back intensely, clambering onto his lap in an effort to get closer to her alpha. Her arms came up to rest on his shoulders, fingers threading through the wet blue strands on his head. One of his hands rested on her ass, the other on the small of her back
“Fuck, omega, you’re so enticing like this. Let me make you feel good.”
“Please, alpha.”
A large hand came down to rest between the apex of Hana’s thighs, drawing small circles over her sensitive areas. Hana’s head fell backwards in an involuntary gasp, and her alpha used the opportunity to start ravaging her neck. His lips sucked their way down her jaw before coming to rest at her scent gland, beginning to leave a mark that would be purple in the morning. Gasps and moans left Hana as Tenya stimulated her most sensitive areas.
The scent gland of any presentation, but particularly alphas and omegas, was a sensitive area. As an omega, Hana noticed it was even more so in the days leading up to her heat, and during her heat itself. Both she and Tenya knew this, so the omega absolutely planned on calling him out tomorrow, when she was set to go into full pre-heat.
Tenya continued to make steady circles on Hana’s clit, and she slowly started to melt on top of him.
“You’re so beautiful, princess,” He growled lowly, “Fall apart for me, omega.”
Hana sobbed, feeling herself start to spasm.
“Ahhhh, Tenya! I’m gonna cum-”
“Let go for me, baby.”
Hana tumbled over the edge; her eyes fluttering closed as waves of pleasure roared through her body. The omega let her head fall onto her alpha’s soldiers, and Tenya’s hand began to rub up and down her back. It was then that Hana noticed she’d been crying a little, and she sniffed quietly.
“Are you alright, darling?” Her alpha asked softly, his voice betraying his concern.
“Yeah; I’m fine, I think. It was just…”
“Was it a lot?”
“Uh huh. It was good! I liked it a lot but I’m just really hormonal right now.”
“Okay. I’m glad you’re okay for the most part. Shall we get to bed now? I can bring you up some tea if you’d like.”
“Yes, please.”
Tenya lifted his beloved out of the bath, pulling the drain stopper and wrapping a towel around her shoulders while he went around and snuffed out all of the candles. He guided his mate into the restroom and prepared her toothbrush for her so all she had to do was run it back and forth over her teeth. The alpha left his mate briefly to dry off and pull on a pair of sweats before making his way down to the kitchen to heat up water for her tea. At the last second, Tenya decided to bring his omega a square of chocolate to cheer her up as well. He dunked a bag of chamomile tea into her mug and brought the stuff upstairs, along with a napkin.
Hana was already in bed, wearing what looked like one of his shirts. Tenya smiled.
“I brought you tea and a treat, omega. I’m going to get myself ready for bed and join you.”
Tenya set her things down on her bedside table and pressed a kiss to her forehead, rushing through his night routine to hold his omega. She’d finished the chocolate and more than half of the tea, which was a win in Tenya’s book.
“Can you hold me please, alpha?” She asked as he got under the covers and turned off the lights.
“Of course, baby. Come here.”
Hana scooted into her mate’s embrace and sighed happily, falling asleep in no time. She was more tired than Tenya had anticipated, it seemed. The alpha allowed her steady breaths to carry him into sleep.
The next morning, Hana woke up to a headache and a cold bed. She checked her night table, and sure enough, there was a note from her mate informing her that he was out for his morning workout and that he’d left breakfast in the kitchen for her. Hana groaned lightly and padded over to the closet, throwing on a pair of slippers and one of her alpha’s sweatshirts. He’d worn it before, so the black fabric held traces of his scent. The omega wrapped their comforter, which also smelled like him, around herself and went downstairs via the elevator.
It was the day of her pre-heat, which Hana had been told was similar to the symptoms experienced by beta women on their period. Alphas and omegas never had to deal with menstrual cycles, as their heats and ruts took their place. Hana had a headache, nausea, and lethargy. She was tempted to crawl straight back in bed. Or take a nap on the couch and watch movies.
Hana let her head rest on the cool countertop as she munched on the fruity pastry Tenya had brought from a bakery in town, judging by the bag it had come in. She loved her alpha so much; he was so considerate.
She finished her breakfast and threw the bag it had come in away. Tenya had said in his note that he would be back around 9 or so. It was 8:30, so Hana shuffled over to the couch in the living room and flopped down upon it, falling asleep instantly.
Tenya returned from his morning run and workout to see his omega passed out on the couch. Even though she was ensnared in what looked to be their comforter, he could smell the subtle change in her scent that came with pre-heat. She would be tired and wouldn’t feel very well, and she’d want to make a perfect nest later in the day. The next day, she’d be in heat and he’d be in a rut, and they wouldn’t be able to keep their hands off each other.
For the time being, however, Tenya just tapped his omega awake.
“Alpha! Come cuddle with me in the blanket.” She said, smiling softly and opening a corner of their huge comforter.
“Thank you, omega,” Tenya replied, getting wrapped up in the blanket and shifting them around so he could hold her, “How are you feeling today?”
“I’m okay, just tired and kind of icky. Can we watch a movie or something?”
Tenya smiled at his mate. He’d always been taught to use formal, polite language, but he found it endearing when his omega would use words like ‘icky’.
“Of course, darling. I can hand you the remote and go get some snacks if you’d like?”
“Thank you, alpha. Can we make popcorn?”
“Certainly.”
The blue-haired alpha disentangled himself from his mate’s grasp and began setting up. He handed Hana the television’s remote before pulling a bag of popcorn out of the pantry and sticking it in the microwave. While that was popping, he ran up the stairs to change into a new set of clothes and freshen up, coming back down just in time for the popcorn to be ready. Hana had pulled up some animated fil or other, and Tenya served up the popcorn and a few drinks, joining his omega on the couch.
They maneuvered so that she was in his lap, leaning back against his chest. Tenya quite liked being able to hold his mate and bury his nose in her scent gland whenever he wished. The popcorn bowl in her lap meant that they had easy access to the snacks as well. She started the movie, and Tenya enjoyed being with his omega, even if she wasn’t feeling great.
Later, Hana seemed to be feeling a bit better, and Tenya asked if she’d like to spend some time on the beach. His omega agreed, and the two got ready to go. Hana donned a white, two-piece bathing suit that had Tenya practically drooling. His alpha instinct was almost tempted to make her wear one of his shirts on top of it, but seeing as it was a private beach, there was no threat to protect her from, save from harsh UV rays. Besides, even though Hana would probably listen if Tenya asked her to cover up, it wasn’t his place to be telling his omega what to wear.
Still, the sun was still a threat, and the pair sprayed themselves down with sunscreen before leaving. Hana ended up wearing a long-sleeved swim top to protect from the sun, though forewent shorts. Tenya just threw on a black pair of swimming trunks and a towel over his shoulders. It was probably not wise to only bring one towel, but surprisingly, Tenya wasn’t really thinking that far ahead.
Scratch that. With the way his mate’s legs and butt were on display as she reached into the fridge for drinks to take, it was a wonder that Tenya even remembered his own name.
Being on the beach was fun. The two walked up and down the shore, splashing in ankle-level water. Neither felt like swimming that day, but they made a sand igloo and adorned it with shells and seaweed before Hana got tired once again and Tenya picked his mate up and ran her back to the house.
Hana was probably worrying her mate with how much noise she was making in the closet. Her nesting instinct had kicked in, and she’d promptly commandeered their walk-in closet. The omega was working especially hard on this one, because she knew that this was the nest they’d finally end up mating and marking each other in, and she needed to feel totally comfortable with it. She frowned at her progress, and opened the closet door.
“Tenya?”
“Yes, Hana?”
“Can we go to the store to get more blankets?”
Hana heard her alpha exhale sharply, and she could practically see the cogs in his head turning.
“All right. We can take the car, but I’d like for you to apply scent patches just in case. Is that okay with you?”
“Yeah that sounds good.”
They got ready to go out quickly, changing into more appropriate clothing, grabbing their things, and Hana sticking on scent patches. Tenya scented a light jacket and draped it over her shoulders, and Hana practically purred at his touching concern. Alphas tended to get very protective of their omegas when they were in heat. He probably would have had her stay home, but only Hana knew what blankets she needed for her nest, so the alpha wanted to take every other precaution.
His hand was on her knee the entire ride over to the small home goods store in town, and Hana latched onto his arm as soon as they were out of the car.
“I think I’ll need a lot of them. It needs to be big.” She said apologetically.
“Whatever you’d like, princess. You know cost doesn’t matter.” He replied, waving at the store attendant who greeted them.
Hana guided them over to the blanket section and looked through their selection, feeling materials and checking sizes. She settled on several different blankets of relatively muted fabrics, and Tenya helped her carry them all to the front of the store. By that, of course, she meant that he’d insisted on taking most of them, leaving her with only the lightest ones.
The beta who was working the register took in the sight in surprise, presumably never having seen someone buy so many blankets before. Hana understood. From the looks of them, they were probably still young, and in the modern world they lived in, an omega’s nesting habits were normally not touched upon too often in day-to-day life. Luckily, the beta had the good sense not to comment, as Tenya seemed a bit agitated and ready to get back to the house. As per usual, he didn’t even allow her to see the price as he paid, and Hana was only allowed to carry the lightest bag out to the car.
“I’m going to use the comforter, too,” She pondered aloud as they were driving back, “I like the heavier ones on top.”
“That sounds nice, darling.” Tenya replied, knowing it was best to encourage his mate’s nesting.
“Can we sleep in it tonight?” She asked.
“Absolutely,” the alpha said, “I love spending time in your nests.”
And it was true. Most alphas had to wait a long time before they were allowed to even see an omega’s nest, seeing how it was so personal to them. Some omegas allowed their alphas in their nests eventually, some alphas were never welcome in there at all, and some omegas only allowed anyone else in their nests when they gave birth. Due to their bond as true mates, however, Hana was much more comfortable allowing him in her nests, and had been from the start of their relationship. Still, Tenya felt deeply honored and privileged every time he set foot in her sacred place.
They made it back to the house and Hana wasted no time ripping all the packaging off the blankets and arranging them how she pleased. Tenya used the opportunity to put their dinner leftovers in the fridge and answer a text from Tensei asking how he was doing. He informed his older brother that he was doing alright, but that he would likely be unreachable for the next few days. Tensei had responded with a wink and a few other suggestive emojis, and Tenya shut off his phone with a roll of his eyes.
Waking up in her nest the next morning was nice, considering that Hana was pretty much in heat already. She felt hot and jittery, and she practically wanted to jump her alpha’s bones, but he’d insisted they have a proper breakfast.
Tenya knew that they’d most likely be needing fuel for the day’s activities. His mate’s sweet, heady heat scent was invading the very fiber of his being, and Tenya could feel the adrenaline coursing through him. He was beginning his rut, if it hadn’t started already.
Hana was sitting on a tall stool at the kitchen island, dressed in his sweatshirt and the tiniest shorts he’d ever seen. They practically did nothing to hide the smell of the slick slowly starting to pool between her thighs. Tenya clenched his jaw and the two were silent as he put a bowl of oatmeal topped with honey and fresh berries in front of his mate. The omega picked up a spoonful and blew on it slightly, before locking eyes with him and slowly putting the spoon in her mouth, swirling her tongue around the utensil and dragging it out from between her luscious lips.
Tena growled in warning at his omega as he ate his own breakfast, and she enjoyed that she’d finished first and was waiting for him to do the same.
Usually, the alpha would have seen to it that the dirty dishes would have been washed and put away immediately, but not today. He practically snatched his mate’s things off the table, placing both of their bowls into the sink.
“Go upstairs and pull up a movie or something on your laptop. The food needs to settle.” He spat out.
They both knew he wasn’t really angry with her. The anticipation of the day was getting to both mates, and each could feel the intensity of their respective heat and rut like a live wire. Tenya’s anticipation was manifesting in traditional alpha aggression.
Hana nodded timidly and scampered up the stairs, the scent of her slick almost making Tenya find the nearest bathroom and jerk himself off. The alpha resisted, however, and grabbed several drinks out of the fridge. He trudged up the stairs, bottles in hand, and found his mate on their unmade bed.
“I found Shrek.” She said softly, and Tenya nodded.
There was nothing like an animated children’s movie about a gross green ogre to muffle the thick sexual tension in the room. Still, the alpha had his mate planted firmly in his lap for the entire movie, his nose falling to her scent gland to inhale the potent, fertile sent she was emitting. Hana was squirming almost uncontrollably in a feeble attempt to alleviate some of the pressure she was feeling. Once the movie was finally over, they each took a turn to freshen up before meeting in Hana’s meticulously-constructed nest in the closet.
Tenya entered the closet and closed the door behind him, taking a second for his eyes to adjust to the dim glow of the night light in a corner. Hana had spent so much time making her most special nest to date and she was curled in the center of it, quivering.
It was then that Tenya registered the skin of her back, bare save for the straps of her bra, the sight causing the alpha to shiver. She had shed her oversized sweatshirt in a futile effort to cool down.
“Alpha!” She whined, holding her arms out for her mate.
Tenya chuckled and stalked forward, dropping to a seated position before he could breach the boundary of the nest. His omega nodded to invite him in and the blue-haired alpha wasted no time in wrapping her frame in his arms.
The two had spoken at length about their ideal first time and expectations as far as everything went. They were open to trying almost anything, but each had a signal for the other in case they needed to slow or stop something. Tenya, surprisingly, had been more knowledgeable than Hana in sexual matters, and had been the facilitator of such conversations.
Come to think of it, that might not have been so shocking. Hana had never known Tenya to go into anything unprepared. He would check and double-check weather forecasts before he went out, he’d look up the menus of restaurants they were thinking of dining at, he’d read every single review for a product he was buying online, and the list went on. Of course he’d go into sexual intercourse prepared for any eventuality, to go in blind would just stress him out and he’d be too in his head to enjoy anything.
This particular instinct of Tenya’s was even more apparent whenever Hana was concerned. She knew it was probably his protective alpha nature that made him a bit anal about knowing things beforehand. Her alpha would always stick a protein bar in her bag or make sure she had a sweater before they went out. He’d even started keeping a packet of omega-friendly painkillers in his wallet.
They sat there wrapped in each other’s embrace, and Hana breathed in her mate’s scent. The omega took the opportunity to let herself feel her body and the adrenaline and hormones coursing through her. She felt the pull in her core, the slick on her thighs, and the warmth of her breath. Hana hugged her mate tightly and knew she was ready.
Tenya nudged his omega’s head up and kissed her deeply, his alpha purring at feeling their bodies melt together. Gently, he brought them up into a seated position, pulling his omega onto his lap by the waist. Hana had requested not to be on top for the first time, and Tenya had acquiesced to her wish, though by all accounts being on top would be easier on her as she’d have more control.
Reasonably, Tenya knew that everything would be fine and that Hana would produce plenty of slick as usual, but he’d still chucked a couple of bottles of lube into the closet while she was in the shower a while ago.
Hana must’ve sensed her alpha’s distraction, as her lips detached from his. Tenya could see a strand of saliva connecting them, and rubbed it away with his thumb as she spoke.
“What’s wrong, alpha?”
A rumble in his chest caught even Tenya by surprise, and he was guided almost by instinct to growl,
“Need you to be okay.”
Hana knew where her mate’s worries came from. Heats were intense, and the omega was no stranger to crying before, during, or after sexual acts. Both the alpha and omega knew that this was normal, if not common, and that it was just due to the hormonal cocktail of heats, but that didn’t stop Tenya from doing every bit of research he could to absolutely nail aftercare. The alpha hated to see his mate in pain more than anything, and had trouble distinguishing normal tears from sad or hurt ones sometimes.
To top that all off, Tenya was big. He was a tall, muscular alpha, of course he was. Over the past two years, the speed hero-in-training had grown to be one of the tallest members of Class 1-A, and was at least a foot taller than he was as he started his first year in the hero course. With that height and sheer mass came – other growth. Hana on the other hand hadn’t grown a centimeter since starting UA, and while their height difference was nothing to sneeze at when they first met, now it was almost comical how much smaller she was. Tenya and Hana were well aware of the implications of such a difference in size, and aside from the occasional blow job, Hana had never attempted to take her mate’s length before.
The omega planted a searing kiss on her alpha’s jaw.
“I will be fine, alpha. It’s probably going to hurt, yeah, but I trust you. And I promise to tell you if I need a break, okay?”
Hana looked into her mate’s darkened eyes, a hand coming up to drag her nails through his scalp, an act that usually made the alpha relax. His eyebrows quirked and Hana could see the change in her mate’s entire demeanor.
“I just have to make sure you’re nice and slick for me, omega.” He smirked.
Hana knew she was in trouble a half second before her back hit the plush blankets of the nest and she felt her knees being pried apart. Hana was giggling like a madwoman as her mate settled between her legs and unceremoniously dragged her shorts down her thighs. The small of slick became overwhelming and Hana nearly went blind with pleasure when she felt her alpha’s face against her pussy. Laughs turned into breathless moans as Tenya devoured her opening, sucking and slurping in a way that made the omega see stars.
The lewd sounds coming from his mate only spurred him on as he slid a finger, then two, into her crevice and stroked her wet, velvety walls with abandon. His lips trailed upward and attached themselves to her clit. The pressure that had been building in Hana’s core erupted and she convulsed, letting out a string of curses and moans as her mate continued his ministrations while her orgasm washed over her. Her walls fluttered around his fingers as Hana rode the wave of her orgasm, aided by her mate who didn’t once cease his ministrations on her clit and stroking her insides.
Once the aftershocks had dissipated, the alpha came up to face his omega once more and his midnight eyes gazed deeply into hers.
“Are you ready, darling?”
“Yes, alpha.”
“I love you, omega.”
“I love you too, Tenya.”
Hana was lying down in the nest she’d so painstakingly built as Tenya hovered over her, pressing kisses to his tiny mate’s jaw as a hand trailed town to her folds, sopping with slick. He slowly guided his throbbing member into her tight hole, all the while maintaining eye contact with Hana. The omega saw stars as she finally felt her alpha’s fullness inside of her and moaned deliciously. Tenya took his time sheathing himself into her, and once he was finally halfway in, tears began to prick at the backs of Hana’s eyes; her mate was huge.
Tenya’s other hand came to stroke at his mate’s cheek.
“Are you alright?” He asked, pausing in his movements entirely so as not to cause her any more discomfort.
Hana had to take a few deep breaths before replying.
“Yes, just… Mark me, please, alpha.”
Tenya’s breath caught in his throat.
“As you wish, my love.”
He nuzzled her cheek and nose lightly before tracing his way down to her neck. The blue-haired alpha had to pause to brush his mate’s hair out of the way and pick the perfect spot – the juncture between her neck and throat seemed to do nicely. Tenya pressed a quick kiss to the area before opening his mouth, unlocking his jaw and piercing his teeth into the soft flesh.
Hana felt a split second of the most intense pain she’d ever felt before bucking into her mate’s pelvis in pleasure, driving his cock inside her to the hilt. The bite on her neck was heating up, and even now she’d felt more connected to her true mate than ever before. The tears in her eyes fell and she sobbed, rocking back and forth against Tenya’s pelvis looking for relief. The bite and Hana’s subsequent ecstasy when on for what felt like an eternity before the alpha retracted his jaws and ran his tongue over the fresh mark. It was very tender and the cold air on her neck shocked Hana out of her reverie, bringing her eyes back into focus as she looked at her worried mate.
“That was perfect.” She whispered, pressing a kiss to the corner of his mouth, the taste of her own blood driving her insane, “Can I do yours now, Tenya?”
“Of course, baby.” He replied.
Hana managed to buck her hips up and nod her mate back to lie down, never letting his member slip from her opening. She kissed around for the perfect spot and found it, highly visible on the part of his neck below the ear.
Hana retracted her canines and bit down as hard as she could, feeling herself pierce the skin and blood filled her mouth. Tenya’s bucking and grunting, as well as her own omega instincts, told her that she was doing the right thing, and Hana continued until she could feel their connection cemented. The omega pulled back and licked the area, taking a moment to admire her handiwork before feeling herself flipped over in the nest as her alpha growled and began plowing into her at a brutal pace.
“God, I fucking, ung, love you, ‘mega. Wanna spend forever with you, fuck you full of pups.”
“I – lo-love you too, alpha. Wanna be yours…”
Hana knew she would have bruises from her alpha’s tight grip, and that in the morning he would be so apologetic about forgetting his own strength, but for the moment she simply enjoyed and relished in the moment.
Iida’s pace slowed slightly as he came, but he never stopped thrusting, even as the feeling of being filled further drove Hana to her own climax once more. Once they were both spent, Tenya held his mate in his arms as they breathed together, and fell asleep with their new connection binding them together.
Because of the marking, their scents would change slightly. The bond between mates was strong because it needed to be. Alphas would probably have been fine without all of the stipulations that came along with bonding, but to omegas, it was an evolutionary advantage. A mated omega would carry on a certain twist to their natural scent, usually an element of their alpha’s. Mated omegas were usually not hit on or harassed at the same rate as their unmated counterparts, because everyone around them knew they were under the protection of an alpha.
The mate bond also had the added benefit of a stronger mental connection between pairs. They couldn’t hear every thought in each other’s heads of course, but each would have a decent idea of how the other was doing, and if they were in danger. There were rare stories about true mates having even deeper connections and even being able to teleport to where the other was, but the leading theory on those cases was that the gene that would eventually turn into the quirk gene was somehow awakened with the mate bond.
Waking up, Tenya was excited to be able to see his mark on his mate. He’d still worry about her safety at his every waking moment, but at least he knew she’d always carry a bit of his scent at all times. At present, her head was tucked in to the crook of his neck, right by his scent gland. Tenya was excited to be carrying her mark as well, though he was apprehensive about how his work as a hero would affect his mate. Still it was glorious to be claimed, and to see his claim on her.
Tenya had been awake for a few minutes, basking in the afterglow and the feel of his mate twisted up around him. Hana had been tired out the night before, as had he, but of course he would be the one to wake up first.
“I love you, Hana.” He said, hand stroking her head softly.
“Love you too, Tenya.” Came a voice riddled with sleep.
All was well.
