Cockblocked

Summary:

Dean and Castiel are just trying to keep each other warm this Holiday season.

Notes:

Hello, everyone! This is the very last installment of the Novak-Winchester Household. It’s a Christmas/Holiday fic that is more a vignette than anything. Like Mother’s Day Raincheck, we wanted to keep this one light, happy, and downright sexy. :) We hope you all have enjoyed the series, we are both happy and sad to see it end.

Work Text:

Dean can feel the chilly air of the apartment before he even opens his eyes. Whoever said that California was always warm didn’t live in a pokey shitty one room basement apartment. Granted, Cali is warmer than Sioux Falls, but yeah… still cold enough that he wishes for the heater to actually work consistently.

Cas puts off enough heat to keep him somewhat warm, his mate of almost one year is still fast asleep underneath the patchwork quilt they picked up at the thrift shop. Dean pulls the quilt further up to cover his chin, but only succeeds in baring his toes to the cool air. He pulls his legs up and back under the covers, and rests his chilled feet on Cas’ legs.

“No,” his mate sleepily murmurs, jerking his leg away, “don’t do that.”

“I’m cold,” Dean whines and inches closer to Castiel, intertwining their legs.

Cas rolls over and pulls Dean to his chest, wrapping his arms around his mate. “Go back to sleep, Dean. It’s early.”

Dean accepts and snuggles into the extra warmth. “You’re so warm, Cas.”

Dean sniggers to himself, shaking the bed slightly as he feels Cas draw him even closer. Feeling a bit mischievous, he leans close in, lips practically brushing the shell of Cas’ ear.

My Alpha is Hot Blooded, check it and see, he’s got a fever like a hundred and three…

Cas raises his head from the pillow and reaches around to place a warm hand firmly over Dean’s mouth, preventing him from ruining any more of the old Foreigner song. He really is hot, always sleeps hot. It’s one thing that Dean likes about Cas, his own personal heater. Dean struggles in his Alpha’s arms, finally resorting to childishness as he pokes out his tongue and licks Cas’ palm. He turns until he is facing his Alpha, and can look into his sleepy blue eyes.

“D’you think I’m hot, hot, hot, Cas? Huh?” Dean’s green eyes sparkle with amusement.

Cas waits a beat before he shoves himself up on an elbow and expertly flips them, landing squarely on Dean’s chest pinning him to the mattress.

“Dean, you are without a doubt the hottest man I have ever seen. And I mean that literally and figuratively. You run warm, and objectively I think you are “hot” in the current parlance.” Cas even frees his hands to make the  air quotes.

Dean pulls Cas’ hands back down and places them firmly on his chest.

“Show me, Alpha.”

Castiel cannot resist Dean at any time, but with the willing Omega under him in their bed he is lost. Cas leans down to kiss Dean with intent. The kiss is warm, and thorough, and the Alpha uses his hands to guide Dean to exactly the right angle to gain entrance and delve more deeply into his mouth.

Dean’s hands come up and push under Cas’ sleeping tee, finding acres of warm skin to caress as he pulls the Alpha even closer, raising his hips to press against his mate’s growing hardness.

The mood is shattered by the strident tones of ACDC’s “Back in Black” shrilling from the bedside nightstand.

Cas groans in dismay, teeth nipping at the mating mark on Dean’s neck. “Don’t answer it, maybe they will go away”

“But Cas, it’s Sammy.” Dean states, wiggling the caller ID in Cas’ face, as if that explains everything. It does, the Winchester brothers are exceptionally close and Castiel admires their easy relationship.

Sam is due to arrive the next day to stay with Dean and Cas for Christmas. Dean cannot wait to have his baby brother back under the same roof, even if it is only for a couple of days. He can’t let his brother stay in the college dormitories for Christmas and New Years, that would be downright terrible.

Cas sighs deeply as Dean extricates himself from the bedclothes just enough to answer his phone.

“Dude! Dean! ” Sam’s voice is on the loudspeaker. “Put some damn clothes on. Who answers a video call nearly naked? I didn’t need to see you.” Sam waves a hand around expressly having obviously caught a glimpse of the situation going on in Dean’s faded sweats “Especially like that!”

Dean flushes and pulls the quilt further around himself as Cas laughs in the background.

“Whadd’ya want Sammy?”

Cas listens as the brothers firm up their plans for the visit, his erection stubbornly unaffected by the interruption. As the brothers laugh and discuss details, Cas resigns himself to starting the day with a cold shower instead of hot sex, and heaves himself from the bed, grumbling all the way into the tiny bathroom.

The tiny living room is bathed in the glow of the colored lights Dean has strung up on their crappy tree. The tree itself was rejected from their local thrift store.  It smells faintly of cigarettes and its tatty tinsel branches are threadbare. It really is a pitiful thing that they adopted from the shop’s free section.

The tree itself is decorated with a collection of mismatched items; handmade salt dough ornaments, strung popcorn, and mismatched plastic balls. The brothers and Cas had made the handmade ornaments one afternoon after a few drinks. It’s a lovely memory filled with boisterous laughter after creatively shaping the dough into animals that turned out to just be inappropriate body parts.

Sam is attempting to curl up on the sofa bed, his legs hanging off the end of it, the three of them watching Die Hard. Castiel doesn’t believe in Dean’s belief that Die Hard is a Christmas movie, but he watches it anyway.

“Sammy - you’ll never sleep on that - your gigantor legs will like, die or something. Do you want to take our bed?”

Castiel’s Alpha takes an instant dislike to the suggestion. He bristles with possessiveness. His Omega’s nest is not for others to see, even the Omega’s kin… Cas gives himself a shake  as he composes himself. He’s not a dumb knothead, Sam is also not a dumb knothead. It’ll be ok. “Sam, Dean is right. We will manage the couch if you want to take the bed.”

Cas is rewarded with a smouldering look from his Omega. It’s a look that says “thank you” but promises so much more. Castiel preens under his mate’s attention. The young couple are at the start of their lives together, and nothing seems impossible. Cas cannot help but marvel at his mate, at his fiery spirit and his beauty.

The boys finish their night with shots and laughter. The cheap tree illuminates the shoddy apartment, but it is the laughter that makes the small damp space a home. Dean and Cas prepare to bed down on the ancient sofa bed, making sure to avoid the inevitable pinch points, and Sam takes himself off the bedroom, closing the door firmly behind him.

Cas climbs carefully onto the bed, pulling Dean along with him. Only the thin and well worn cotton of their tee shirts and boxers separate them as they huddle together for warmth under a patchwork comforter that Dean had bought at a flea market. The comforter was bought to keep their feet warm during movie nights, not to cover them both for a whole night.

“Cassss?”

“Yes, Dean?”

“I’m cold.”

Cas snorts, but his Omega is actually shivering against Cas’ chest. The Alpha brings him closer and tucks Dean’s head under his chin. He can’t have that, can’t have his love cold and shivering in their bed.

Feeling a little at loss, Castiel whispers against Dean’s temple, “Think warm thoughts my love.”

“I know what would warm me up. Cas…” Dean’s voice trails off, but Dean pushes his warm backside firmly into the cradle of Cas’ pelvis. Castiel gets the message, eagerly responding to his mate.  He grinds there gently, their breaths mingling not even kissing. Their bodies cradling each other, legs entwined. Cas in turn cradles his Omega more closely, and the mated couple begin to move in tandem, each knowing the other’s preferences and desires.

“Quiet now, my love… Can you stay quiet for me?” Cas breathes the words into Dean’s ear causing delightful shivers to cascade through his mate.

“Cas, don’t tease me now. Sammy’s in the next room and these walls are paper thin.”

Dean feels Cas reach around and encircle his cock with a warm hand, even as Cas’ own cock begins to thrust and retreat behind him.

“Cas, boxers off, too much clothes.” Dean is panting already, and has forgotten how cold he was an instant ago. His Alpha is so good at this now, they are so good together.

The couple have an ungainly struggle as they both try to stay under the quilt whilst maneuvering out of their boxers. The added problem is the ancient sofa bed which groans and creaks at each and every movement. It’s ridiculously loud, their labored breathing highlighted by the grinding of metal.

“Quiet, Dean… be still you will wake Sam.”

Dean has a fleeting thought about Cas and his uncanny ability to stay silent if he wishes. But his mate has a devilish smile on his face, he’s teasing him and Dean definitely likes being teased.

Cas’ fingers delve into the dampness between Dean’s buttocks, and further down to his hole. Dean is wet with slick and open for his mate already. Cas wonders briefly if the Omega is due to go into heat.

Dean pushes back, inviting Cas to enter him with his fingers.

“Like this Cas, from behind… now. I need you, Cas.”

Castiel removes his fingers and pushes his cock against his mate’s entrance, revelling in the slick that makes his entrance so easy. Dean’s little moans of encouragement have Cas hard and ready. He’s on the cusp of entering his mate, his cock head dancing at his rim when Sam opens the door and they all freeze.

“Uh, water?” Sam says dumbly and races to the kitchen and noisy drinks a glass of water. He shuts the door just as noisily mumbling incoherently about guests and brain bleach, Dean and Cas remain trapped frozen in their embrace.

“Oh God.” Dean breathes, clearly mortified, when the coast is clear. Cas on the other hand, cannot stop the burst of laughter that erupts from his lips. Dean  joins in shortly and they are both trembling with laughter, holding on to each other, snorting and trying to quiet themselves.

“Well, it won’t be the last time someone walks in on us,” Castiel sighs and kisses the fairly new mating mark. “Perhaps Sam is just training us up for some unruly teenagers that like to interrupt us?”

Dean can’t help but to chortle, “You think we’ll still be sneaking around and having sex when we have teenaged kids?.”

“Definitely, we’ll have to call rain checks if we are lucky. Maybe even try to have sex in the bathroom.”

Laughing, Dean brings his mate impossibly closer. Heart to heart, the men cuddle together once more in the creaky fold out bed and pull the threadbare quilt around them. Their bodies are cooling but still warm from their earlier activities. Their hands wander, petting softly and snuggling into each other. Soft kisses are exchanged, full of youthful affection. Dean doesn’t feel the chill of the crap apartment anymore.

“We may not get Christmas Sex, but put me in your Resolutions for New Year sex, OK? Birthday Sex is a must too.”

“Ok, my love. It’s a deal.”
