Work Text:
Monty couldn't help but sigh in relief when he finally made it to his room, dropping the box immediately onto the floor in favor of lying on his couch. His huge body plopped onto the soft cushions, placing his arms on either side of the top of the couch.
It's been a long day. Immediately after Vanessa gave him the box filled with all of the random objects, he was called to his golf course for a lesson program he forgot was happening that day. The company had decided to create a bunch of different lesson programs for each other's attractions.
Except for Fazerblast, unless they really want to teach kids how to shoot aliens with cheap plastic guns.
Bonnie had his thing with bowling though it was more of a summer program than a seasonal one. It was really popular during the summer months with kids coming in with their friends to play some bowling.
Roxy also had a program but it was more teaching children the safety of driving vehicles and making sure to buckle up when they are in one. But most of the time she ditches the lecture in favor of teaching the kids how to hotwire cars and not to get caught doing it. Monty’s surprised no parents came to complain about it but he guesses the wolf swore all of them to secrecy.
Chica also had her exercising program where she held a bunch of different ones like yoga for instance, which is very popular among most mothers and young girls who come into the pizzaplex. Though most of those mothers push their children to do it because they believe they've gotten too fat or something like that. Which really irks both Monty and Chica, the chicken always tells them how their children can still be healthy without having to lose weight.
That's why she also has a program where she teaches children about their bodies and what they can do to take care of them. She always makes sure to never single out any of the kids and defends them if necessary from any bullying, whether from the other children or their mothers.
Monty was always sure she was a good role model for these kids to have, and this further proves his point. No wonder Roxy is in love with that woman, she was incredible. If he wasn't gay and totally into a certain Fazbear, he would definitely have a crush on her.
Foxy didn't really have a program nor was he interested in having one anyway. He loved to just play with the children at his pirate attraction, creating stories with them as swashbuckling maties of the West. It was pretty cute to watch sometimes and you can tell how much Foxy cares for those kids.
And of course, Monty has his golfing program which he just came back from a few minutes ago. Nothing exciting happened, except for a few kids somehow either ending up in the water or getting stuck on top of the alligator walkways. He didn't know how but he had to deal with a few crying and screaming kids who were complete idiots.
A lean if his head and he's suddenly staring at his starry ceiling, scattered with yellow, purple, and green stars contrasting with the black fabric. They almost seem to glow against the darkness, like actual stars in the sky. Which he never really gets to see that often, he's never really been outside before.
Though he wishes to be able to see them, just once. Maybe with someone.
His thoughts immediately pointed to a certain Fazbear, and he tried to push the thought away but to no avail. The bear always seems to be an overwhelming presence in his mind, never leaving until the late hours after closing. Even then, he's still at least have some inkling of the bear lingering in his brain like a light cloud hovering over him.
It's annoying, to say the least. Having a crush on your coworkers and a fellow friend brought a whole list of issues that he would rather not get into. For the sake of him.
Ugh now he's getting frustrated, and he doesn't even know for what this time. A random burst of anger flushed over his coding like there was a glitch in his system making him this way. He had the urge to break something again, just maybe throwing that plushie against the mirror.
He was about to do just that before the echoing voice of a woman made itself known in his memory drive. The voice sounded eerily familiar to a certain security guard with who he just talked about this very issue with. Right, he can't really break stuff anymore like he used to.
Dammit. Now, what was he meant to do? His eyes looked around the room, desperately looking for something when they decidedly landed on the big brown box near his door. Right, that thing.
He wasn't really into the whole idea itself, it didn't really sound like something that was meant for him. But it's not like he has a choice, like hell he was going to let the company scrap him like he was nothing. Yeah, that's definitely not happening.
He reluctantly pushed himself onto the starry rugged green floors and gently pulled the box of items to himself. As he leaned against the couch, his hands searched around the box for something he could do.
There were a lot of things that fit into the small box, and he was genuinely surprised to see a handful of objects connecting to a certain hobby. He didn't know which one to start with, there was just a lot of them.
There was a knock at his door, well more a series of knocks that Monty instantly recognized from the number of times he's heard it before.
“Come on in, kid.”
The door opened to reveal messy brown hair and a childish grin planted on an overly freckled face. Gregory immediately set his on to the alligator and sat down next to him on the floor.
Monty noticed how his hair looked a bit damp and his usual clothes were replaced with Freddy-themed PJs in place of them. The kid must be getting ready for bed, Monty didn't even notice it was getting late. He checked his systems and noticed it was about 9:30 pm, time really past by when you're trying to relax.
“Hey kiddo, what brings you around here?” he asked, still looking around the box. He didn't mind the child coming by here every once in a while but Gregory didn't really come to visit him around this time and not in his room. It's usually while Monty is at his golf course or when he's taking his breaks in the security office.
He would usually take the kid up on the catwalks to do some dangerous but fun things up there. Or take him to the vending machines and get him some snacks that Freddy doesn't usually want him having. It was all in good fun and being an awesome Uncle Monty.
“I just wanted to see what you're up to and why you have that huge box,” he responded, tilting his head to the side curiously. “I also wanted to ask about your intention with my dad but i'll save that for later.”
Monty nodded until the last part, sputtering around his words for a lack of response. He could hear the little shit laughing at him and the fact he couldn't form coherent sentences at that moment. He had a sudden urge to kill this kid but refrained from doing so since Freddy does, unfortunately, care about him.
It seems like he'll never escape the endless teasing and joking of his crush on the big bear. He hopes they would at least keep it on the down-low but of course, they love to make him suffer for no reason other than for their own cruel amusement.
Okay maybe he's overreacting a little bit but he believes it's justified if he's being honest. Definitely.
He glanced back down at the box and decidedly ignored the boy’s last question. That's a can of worms he doesn't want to open right now, that's going to be for another day.
“Vanessa gave me this big box full of things for hobbies I guess,” he answered, ignoring the knowing glance that was sent his way. “Now I'm just trying to figure out which one ill do first.”
The boy made a face,” Why are you doing that?”
“The companies getting tired of me breaking my stuff and paying for it, so Vanessa gave me a way to cope with my‘ anger issues’.” he quoted with his hand and an eye roll. Honestly, he's not a fucking human, he doesn't have anger issues.
Gregory nodded like it made perfect sense to him. “You do have some problems with your anger. It's like you're a smaller lamer version of Godzilla.”
Monty raised an eyebrow at the child,” I can and will hit you.”
He only earned an adorably toothy grin in response, causing the alligator to roll his eyes fondly as he pushed the child’s face gently. “Hey!”
“Are you gonna help me or sit there looking useless as usual?”
“I'll tell dad you're being mean to me. Then he'll never want to date your smelly self.”
He shot the boy a glare,” Will you shut up about that and fucking help me?”
Gregory gave him a grin and raised his tiny hands in defence,” Fine gator man. No need to give me your scary death glare. So what do you have in there?”
The alligator grumbled under his breath but shoved the box a little so the boy could see what it had stored in it. Some of the objects looked interesting and honestly intrigued him but it's not like he could try them all at once. He would need like a million arms and legs for that.
That actually doesn't sound too bad.
The boy hummed in thought as a tiny hand dug around the box curiously, shoving objects around in favor of looking at others. Monty watched silently as he did this, content of just letting the boy pick what he did first.
Then Gregory pulled out some colourful yarn and matching stick things connected to them. There seemed to be multiple batches of yarn inside of the box that Monty never really paid attention to until now. Different colored yarns decorated around the box, each one more brighter and crazier than the rest.
It was very interesting, to say the least.
Gregory placed them in the alligator’s hand with a bright smile twitching on his youthful facial features. “You should try knitting! I bet you could make yourself some better clothes with them.”
Even when he's being genuine, the boy still finds a way to insult him.
Ignoring the slight jab towards this clothing, he curled his hand around the soft plush yarn and took the small sticks from their position in between the many lines of threads. Honestly, knitting seemed like it would be fun but of course, he's never done it before so he wouldn't know.
Well, it's a first for everything.
“Well, I guess I'm starting with knitting. It can't be too hard right?”
___________________________
Turns out it wasn't as hard as he thought it would be. Yes, he did have a tough time withholding the sticks in his destructive hands and somehow always breaking in them. No matter how gentle he was, they can never seem to stay intact.
But eventually, he found a way to keep the wooden sticks from breaking so easily under his tight grip. He asks Vanessa if he could get those metal sticks instead so he could stop breaking the wooden ones. The woman was surprised but complied easily and sooner than later, he was holding his new sticks while trying to figure out how to actually knit.
He decides to look up a tutorial on the internet, it seems like that's how everyone knows how to do everything.
Sooner than later, he's on the floor of his room, watching an elderly lady skillfully making a small hat for her little dog like it was nothing. He was impressed how it didn't take her more than 5 minutes to make it and wishes he could be at that skill set.
Fortunately, he at least has a great memory hardware and can call back on how to do a certain thing within just a couple of seconds. Perks on being an animatronic.
It's pretty tedious work and Monty had to put a good amount of time to make even one thing, and the most he's even made was something that kinda looked like a scarf. If you squinted and looked at it from a certain angle, it would be a nice scarf.
He sighed in frustration, as his sticks got stuck into what was supposed to be a hat but turned out wider and lumper than he intended to be. While he was battling with his dumbass skills, a knock on his door made its way to his ears.
Monty grunted to the person at his door, still trying to finish with the ‘hat’ he was making. A slide of the door and careful footsteps made their way to him, and sooner than later a shadow loomed over him.
“Hi Monty! I heard you're trying out a new hobby!”
He looked up to see Chica standing beside him, curiously looking at the mess of scrapped yarn and half-finished pieces of fabric scattered around him. She gave him a look of sympathy.
“I see you aren't doing very well.”
“Geez, you think?” He responded, rolling his eyes while trying to get his hands unstuck from the strings wrapped around his hands. He doesn't even know how he got in this position, battling with yarn was an embarrassing and frustrating one.
The chicken giggled behind her hand, her earrings jingling along with the graceful laughter. “I can help you if you want, I've dabbled a little when it comes to knitting.”
Monty shot her a look of surprise,” Really?”
Chica nodded,'' One of the mothers from the yoga program told me about how she likes to knit and crochet for her kids from time to time. She taught me a few tricks with it as well so maybe I can help!”
Monty thought about the offer carefully before looking back down at his messy attempts of trying to make certain clothing from his aggressive hands. It would be very helpful to have some tips considering he wasn't going to give up until he's mastered this hobby. He was stubborn that way.
Plus it would be nice to spend some time with the chicken, they rarely hang out unless it's with the others after a show or just in the green room. He doesn't even remember the last time they spent some one-on-one time together.
“Sure yeah,” he said, a smile slipping onto his face. “I would like that.” Chica mirrored his expression as she hooted with excitement, planting herself next to him on the floor. He asked if she would like to move somewhere else but she assured him she was fine where she was.
For the next few days, Monty received plenty of helpful tips on how to both knit and crochet, the alligator didn't know they were two different things. But she was very patient and courteous with teaching him more than any Youtube video could.
He would always watch her delicate hands expertly cross each piece of string with each other like a beautiful symphony of dances. And in no time, she would've made a hat or a very long scarf and Monty was blown away at how easy she made it look. Honestly, it made him feel a bit silly.
And in little more than a few days, he was able to make a bunch of items, various versions of hats, gloves, scarfs, and even some sweaters. Though the last ones looked a bit wonkier and sometimes the sleeves would be longer than intended, Chica reassured him they looked amazing.
Each of the sweaters he made was for one of the animatronics and Vanessa and Gregory as well, not for any particular reason of course. Nope definitely not. Just because he wanted to get some practice in. And if he took more time to do Freddy’s sweater to make sure it looked perfect enough for the bear, then no one would know except for him.
And maybe Chica since she called him out on it, which was totally uncalled for. She's such an asshole sometimes.
After he finished with the last sweater a couple of days later, he looked over his work with pride. About 9 or 10 sweaters were lined along the floor, each design expertly different than the other. He's thankful that Vanessa was kind enough to give him plenty of yarn to be able to do this.
He doesn't really know why he made these for all of them, maybe to show some appreciation for the fact that they all deal with him daily. Or just to give them something nice to wear. Maybe this was dumb, even though Vanessa and Gregory would probably find some use out of them, the others don't really get cold and need to wear any clothes.
Maybe he should back out while he could but of course, a nagging voice in his head, reminding him of Chica, was telling him he should do this. And he really wasn't going to ignore that.
Walking towards the green room felt like walking towards a sudden death round where he was almost destined to lose in. Okay maybe that's a little dramatic but sue him he's never done thing kind of thing before. Giving them presents of his own making felt so much more personal than giving them something from a gift shop or food court.
And he doesn't even want to know how Freddy would react, he's aware the bear would be nice about it even if he hated it. But he made sure each of the sweaters had something to represent the person he was giving it to, for sentimental value and junk.
Freddy’s of course had little bears holding little microphones scattered across the orange and brown fabric. Bonnie’s was purple with little bowling balls spreading across the sleeves and collar. There were also little stars sketches across the balls since that's what his signature bowling ball looked like.
Chica’s was a little difficult to think for so he just added some yellow chickens on a mix of pink and white fabric yarn. Roxy’s was the same as Chica’s but he put some race carts in place of the chickens for the gray and purple sweater.
Foxy’s was pretty easy to do, he made the whole thing pirate-themed with a little pirate flag at the very center of it. Little hooks and birds were surrounding the whole thing and the fabric was more black and white with a little red in the mix to match the fox’s fur.
Sun and Moon’s were almost identical to each other, except for the different color choices to match their aesthetics and pallets. Sun’s had a colourful pale yellow sweater with a sun stashed in the middle while Moon’s had a moon on the center with a lavender fabric.
With Vanessa, he didn't really have a clue what she would want on it, he didn't know too much about her. So he just did a basic Burgundy sweater with little dogs scattered across it since he did hear that was her favourite animal. At least it looks like he put some sort of effort into it. And last but not least Gregory, whose sweater looked very identical to Freddy’s but he put in lettering, bear’s tiny son plastered across the front.
He was incredibly nervous to hand it to them, but inside he knew he wanted to. Not only just to give them some presents in appreciation but to show he's trying to change his ways. He hopes it would come across as that.
From the outside, he could hear chattering amongst the others with cackles and laughter mixed in the talking. Even from out here, he could tell the atmosphere was warm and inviting. He was feeling a little better about doing this, knowing how much they do care about him.
He took a breath before walking inside, watching as the conversations came to a lulling hush and his anxiety immediately spiked up. But it wasn't meant to be judging, they all were looking at him with smiles and grins.
“Hey gator man, nice of you to finally join us,” Bonnie greeted, giving him a small saluted wave. The other gave their own form of greetings and once again he noticed the bear wasn't in the room again.
Chica must've noticed his disappointment since she spoke up,” Don't worry, he just went out to go fetch Gregory from Vanessa’s office. He wanted to spend some time with her and you know how much Freddy worries about the kid.”
Monty felt his sensors and wires start to overheat from Chica calling him out, glaring at the grinning chicken in response. “I swear I'm not afraid to hit you.”
The girl only gave him a cheeky grin and stuck her tongue out playfully.
“What's that in ye hands matey?” Foxy asked, staring at the piles of sweaters he had stuffed into a bag that was hanging over his shoulder. The others also drew their attention to the bag with curious stares.
“Is it a dead body?” Monty shot Roxy a look.
“Why would it be a dead body?”
The wolf shrugged,” You're weird enough to do that. Plus what's so big in there that it's almost bursting the bag if not a dead body?”
“Omg are you hiding a dead body and trying to make us your witnesses?” Bonnie asked dramatically, placing his hands upon his cheeks. The other snickered by his side while Monty rolled his eyes at the bunny’s antics.
“Well if you guys don't let me finish, you're going to end up being a dead body.”
Eventually, the giggles subsided and he gained their full attention upon him. Finally, he thought.
“So you guys already know I'm doing this thing so I can keep my anger issues in check-”
“Desperately,” Foxy commented and raised his hand and hook up with a grin when Monty shot him a look.
“Anyway, so I took up knitting for a little bit and Chica helped me make a bunch of stuff. And I made you guys some sweaters because why not?” His eyes darted everywhere around the room, looking everywhere but the animatronic in front of him.
This was so embarrassing, they're probably gonna make fun of him for even doing this kind of thing. They're gonna laugh him off and reject the sweaters he put hard work into. He was right, maybe he shouldn't have done this.
“Well, are you gonna show us or not gator boy?”
He looked up to see Roxy giving him an expecting expression as she pointed at the bag. A confused expression crossed his face,” What?”
“You said you made us some sweaters right?” Monty nodded at her. A grin slipped onto her lips,” Then fuckin show us. I want to see how cool mine looks.”
“Mines probably gonna be cooler than yours,” Bonnie said with a smirk,” He would definitely take the time with mine.”
“Oh please ya land blubber,” Foxy scoffed,” it's obviously mine would be the best. Only the best sweater for the best animatronic.”
Monty watched them argue for a minute, a fond feeling spread around his chest like a knife spreading butter on toast. He couldn't help but snort, he doesn't even know what he was worried about. He was friends with a bunch of idiots, he really got worked up over nothing.
“Alright, alright children. Give me a minute and ill show you,” he laughed as he gained the curious stares from the others while Chica watched on with an amused smile dancing on her lips.
Placing the bag on the ground and unzipping it, one by one he pulled the accurate sweaters for each animatronic in the room and laid them out onto the brown carpet. He made sure there weren't any wrinkles and cringed as he realized how imperfect some of them were.
“They aren't the best,” he mumbled as he finished taking Chica’s sweater and laying it next to the others. He nervously rubbed the back of his head as he avoid eye contact with everyone. “You can give them back if you don't want them-”
He was interrupted by a shuffle of metal bodies hitting the floor to grab at the sweaters instantly, and sooner than later, the fabrics were in the hands of their rightful owners. Red eyes darted back against his own will to gauge at their reactions as he felt himself overheat from the lack of responses.
“Dude,” Bonnie started, looking back at Monty with a bright grin. “This is the coolest thing ever, you have mine bowling balls! Best that bitches,” he pointed at the others before he immediately try putting it on. Of course, he struggled a little bit because of his ears getting stuck and cursing the whole process but he eventually pushed down the bottom and pressed on it a little.
Monty would admit it didn't look as bad as he thought it did when he saw it plastered on the bunny. It complimented the purple rabbit really well and Bonnie seemed to agree with the awed look on his face.
“I'm never taking it off, this will forever be attached to my body.”
“Aw sick, mines got racecars on here! A man after my own heart,” Roxy cackled, placing hers onto her body with ease and taking a minute to admire the contents of it.
Monty looked at Foxy to see he already had his on too as his hook traced along with the black and white pirate flag etched across the front. “Ye lassies is wrong, mine obviously be the best one here. Do any of yours have a pirate flag? I didn't think so,” he smirked, crossing his arms.
Roxy rolled her eyes as she flipped her hair from beneath the sweater,” Cause you're the only one obsessed with pirate stuff dipshit, doesn't mean yours is the best. Its obviously mine,” she pointed at some of the race cars,” do you see the number of details there are on here? I want you to beat that.”
“Oh I think mine is pretty good,” Chica chimed in with a giggle, flatting out her pink and white sweater on her body. Roxy glanced over and Monty could practically see the steam floating from the wolf’s cheeks. The alligator snorted over how in love the wolf was with Chica, and of course, the chicken showed the same amount of love for her girlfriend.
“Honey you don't count, yours is obviously the best because you're the one wearing it,” she smirked, earning a cooing sound from the chicken.
“Gay,” Bonnie complained, placing his hands in front of his eyes. “Can you guys go be cute somewhere else? You're making me feel lonely.”
Roxy rolled her eyes, pulling Chica close to her with the chicken cuddling up next to the wolf. “It's not my fault you can't bag any bitches.”
Bonnie raised a middle finger in response,” Fuck off you furry. I don't know how Chica deals with you.”
They argued like that for a few minutes, all while Foxy and Chica were watching from the side. Monty snorted, his friends were assholes sometimes but he still loved them. Unfortunately.
“Hey, bitches, what's up?”
Monty looked back to see Gregory entering the green room with his usual shit-eating grin. He rolled his eyes at the child as Freddy came in to scold the child for his bad language. It was hilarious to see the bear act like such a father figure to the boy.
“Gregory! I told you you're too young to be saying curse words like that,” the child gave Freedy the most innocent look he could muster, but Monty knew it was all an act.
“I'm sorry dad, I'll never do it again,” that little shit even pulled the ‘dad’ card and already Freddy’s melted into a softer one as he pats the child on the head. Gregory has him wrapped around his finger that manipulative bastard.
“It's quite alright Gregory, just make sure not to do it again.”
The boy nodded, pouting out his lips,” Yes dad, I'll make sure not to say it again.”
Freddy nodded satisfied, dragging his attention over to the other animatronics sitting on the floor. Gregory immediately dropped his act and winked over at Monty, who only rolled his eyes. What a dick.
“Hello everyone, what's going on here? I see you've acquired new clothing,” his eyes glowed a brighter blue,” Where did you get them from?”
Bonnie pulled himself from the heated argument with Roxy to bring his attention to the bear. He pointed over to Monty, who could already feel himself overheat. “Our resident gator man made them for us. He even made some for the two of you.”
That got Freddy to perk up a little in excitement,” Oh really? I would very much like to see mine Monty,” his eyes landed on the alligator, and Monty had to physically stop himself from avoiding eye contact. “Can I?”
He didn't say anything immediately, his words were clogged in his throat and he couldn't get them unstuck. He could hear the others snickering behind him from his lack of response and the bear’s smile seemed to falter a little nervously. He immediately coughed in his hand and gave him a jerky nod.
“Yeah,” he croaked out,” let me just-” he broke off, reaching into the bag to retrieve the two sweaters for the two of them. He took that time to get a hold of himself, now wasn't the time to be swooning over your crush.
“Here you go,” Gregory was the first one to snatch it out of his open hand while Freddy gently took it with delicate hands. Though he was nervous giving it to the rest of them, nothing compared to how anxious he felt when Freddy was looking it over. Unlike the rest, Monty put a lot of thought and care into Freddy’s sweater and he hoped the others didn't notice that.
“Whoa, this is so cool!” the kid chucked his on instantly, struggling a little because of its bigger size than he was used to. He flattened it on his body to admire how it looked on him. Honestly, Monty could've done a little better on the measurements for the kid, he was practically drowning in it.
The alligator wouldn't admit how cute it looked on him, not out loud at least.
“Pfft, does that say ‘bear’s tiny son’ on it?” Roxy snorted. Gregory looked down at the lettering with bright eyes.
“It does! That's so cool! Thank you, Monty!”
The alligator was a little taken aback by the boy’s genuine enthusiasm, expecting him to just scoff it off and refuse to wear it. It melted his heart a little as Gregory boasted about how cool it was.
“Ooh, this is a little tight on me,” Monty glanced over to Freddy and immediately lost his train of thought as his eyes landed on the bear. The sweater being right was an understatement, it was practically plastered upon the bear’s chest. The sleeves were painted onto his arms and every time he moved, his defined metal seemed to imprint themselves onto the soft fabric. It was definitely too tight in all the right ways that he thanked his past self for.
Cause he never wanted to look away from this site.
There was a sharp elbow that hit him and he looked back to see a grinning Foxy shooting him a look. The others had variations of the same expression. “Quit droolin' lover boy, ye gonna cause yeself an Aneurysm with the way ye lookin at ‘im.”
Monty glared at the smug fox,” Shut up Foxy,” he snarled low enough so Freddy couldn't hear. Though the bear wasn't even paying any mind to them, he was too busy looking over the bear patterns over his sweater and chuckling lowly at the designs. The sound reached down all the way to Monty’s core and stayed there, overheating his systems for the 3rd time today.
He really needs to get a hold of himself.
“This is very creative of you Monty! I love how you included a few of everyone’s traits in them. I love mine very much,” his smile was brighter than any star in the sky and made him feel warmer than any sweater he could ever make.
His lips twitched up into a lopsided smile and he didn't even try to stop it from happening. “Yeah well, I did put some effort into it. Especially on yours Fazbear.” It was supposed to be flirty but he felt like it fell flat a little. But it looked like Freddy must've taken it well since the bear blinked before averting eye contact with him. Huh.
His mind was muddled with so many questions and thoughts of handsome bears wearing tight sweaters. He couldn't even think about what the behaviour from the bear meant before being interrupted.
“Alright I'm getting bored now,” Bonnie complained, but he perked up quickly,” We should play some Mario Kart! I'm itching to kick some ass right now.”
“Hell yeah!” Roxy cheered, immediately grabbing the gaming controls from the corner of the room and throwing one at the bunny, who caught it with ease. “You're going down rabbit.”
“Let me get a piece of that action ya lassies,” Foxy caught the control that was tossed at him,” I'm going to pick me boy Yoshi, he's the best out of all of them.”
“Oh please, you can't compete with my girl Princess Peach,” Bonnie scoffed playfully as Roxy booted up the game on the company console. The animatronics practically had to beg for the company to get them a gaming system, they claimed it would be for ‘bonding time’. And though they did use it for bonding, it was through violent threats and many screaming matches.
It was their way of bonding, just with a hint of chaos in it.
“Let me join! I'm gonna kick your asses with my Waluigi,” Gregory chimed in, plotting himself next to the bunny.
“Gregory! Language!”
“Oh put a fucking sock in it Fazbear.”
“Bonnie! Not in front of Gregory!”
“Suck a dic -”
“Bonnie!”
Monty snorted to himself as the two of them kept arguing, Gregory was too busy trying to find a good controller while Foxy and Roxy were debating on which Mario character was better with Chica watching on with great interest. He watched them with a smile planted on his face, the atmosphere warm and bright and filling him with a sense of peace despite the chaos.
God, he loved them so much.
“Hey don't think for a minute I'm not gonna join either. Hand me a controller, Roxy.”
_______________________
A few rounds of Mario Kart later, with Roxy and Bonnie kicking all of their asses in almost every course. You could clearly tell they put some time into this game to be able to play this well. Of course, Roxy came out on top every round while Bonnie always came in dreadful second place.
The screaming matches between them almost shook the whole building as Freddy tried to stop them. It was hilarious to watch the soft bear trying to calm down two of the most hot-headed people he knew.
Foxy, Gregory, and Monty were no help, just watching as the chaos brewed between the two animatronics. Chica wasn't paying attention, too busy taking selfies with her sweater to post on the company Instagram page.
After a few things being thrown and a few laughs coming from the peanut gallery, Monty excuses himself for a minute to go deliver the rest of the sweaters to the other people he had. No one was really paying attention to him, except for Freddy who gave him a small smile in response before trying to make sure Roxy didn't tear off Bonnie’s ears.
Monty flushed for a minute, walking out the door quickly with the bag swung around his shoulder. He took a breath, trying to cool his overheated wires and systems before he passed out. It happened once and he rebooted for the whole day because of it. And only because Freddy was wearing a suit for one of their concerts one time. It was embarrassing.
He shook his head slightly and headed towards the daycare to go give Sun and Moon their sweaters. Of course, he was going to make them one, even though they don't hang out as much, he still considered them friends.
Even if Moon can be a piece of shit sometimes and Sun can be a little too eccentric at the times as well, he still cared about them.
After he gave them the bundles of fabric, he headed over to Vanessa’s security office last. Sun was overjoyed about having something to wear and immediately put on the sweater as soon as he received it. The sun animatronic gave him a huge hug and big thanks for making it, and he'll make sure that Moon would get his when he comes out.
Monty really hopes that the moon animatronic wouldn't try to thank him by sneaking into his room and scaring the absolute shit out of him. He did it once and Moon had to go down to parts and services when the alligator accidentally punched him a little too hard. Never again.
Sooner than later, he was placed in front of Vanessa’s office door, and he could see a bright glow from the slightly tinted windows. He was glad she was still here, she must be working on some sort of paperwork or something.
He swallowed down his nerves, lifting a hand to the door and gently knocking on the hard metal doors. Rustling and shuffling made their way to his ears, then a set of footsteps clicked their way to the door. It opened to reveal a tired Vanessa, whose expression melted into a more fond one.
Monty tried not to think too much about what that could mean.
“Hey Montgomery, what brings you around to my office this late?”
The alligator snorted at the use of his full name, shooting a look at the security guard. “I'm just stopping by to give you something and then I'll let you get back to your boring duties.”
Vanessa leaned against the door, her eyebrow cocked upwards,” Yeah well my boring duties help keep this place running you know. I might not be CEO of the company but I do make sure you guys do your jobs right.”
“And we're so ever grateful for you being our amazing babysitter for all of us. Honestly, I think it's the hardest job out there.”
The blonde woman barked out a laugh,” No kidding. You guys act more like children than the actual kids that come here. It's a wonder how I'm still working here.”
“Cause deep down you actually like being around us,” he smirked, raising his glasses to reveal amused red eyes. “Admit it, your life would be totally boring without us.”
Vanessa rolled her eyes but a fond smile tugged on her red lips,” Whatever you say gator. Now, what was that thing you had for me? I'm getting curious?”
Monty grew nervous for some reason and was now hesitant to show her the sweater. He wanted to get a good reaction from her, she was the one who suggested the idea for him to do this. It was like a kid trying to make their mother proud of them, which was weird enough on its own.
He took out the last sweater from the duffel bag and presented it to the curious woman in front of him. A lick of his lips,” I decided for my first hobby thing to be knitting and made a bunch of sweaters for everyone. And this ones yours,” he lowered his volume as he said the last part but she must've caught on from the small smile on her lips.
Vanessa took the sweater carefully and pushed it in front of her to get a good look at it. Her eyes carefully traced along with the dog-shaped patterns littered across the dark red sweater. Her reaction wasn't immediate like the others, she took her time to look over the piece of cloth.
Her face then lit up as she glanced up at the alligator,” Thanks, gator man. I was looking for something warm to wear around the office, it does get kinda cold.” She then slipped the sweater over her uniform with ease, flipping the long ponytail from underneath it. “And it fits really nice, you did good.”
Monty let out a sigh of relief at the reaction, the bundle of nerves in his chest began to unravel itself.
Vanessa picked up on it and quirked an eyebrow with a grin,” Were you worried I wouldn't like it?”
“Pfft what? No,” he stammered, cursing that he got caught so quickly. “I was just glad it fit good, my measurements were pretty shit when I was making it.”
He only earned an eye roll from the security guard,” Whatever you say, Monty. Did the knitting help you feel better?” Monty blinked at the question.
“Yeah, it actually did,” he couldn't remember the last time he broke something for the past couple of weeks he's been learning how to knit. And it actually felt nice.
“That's good. So are you sticking to this one then?”
Monty thought about it for a minute. “I think I want to try all of them, just to get a taste for them, you know?”
The blonde security guard nodded with a small laugh,” Yeah, I get it. Well, which one are you doing next?”
He already had a thought in mind and could tell it could either end up really good or really bad. But who knows, maybe he'll have some fun with it.
“I heard drawing is pretty popular nowadays.”
