Weakness

Summary:

The carriage scene between Luffy and Sanji with a nice little memory :)

Work Text:

“Somebody hold his head!”

Sanji bit at the guard's gloves, trying to kick the helmet away from him, shrieking incoherent words- his head whipped around, trying to avoid the iron mask;

“Sanji.” Judge boomed, sounding on the verge of something- definitely not tears, more spiteful and loathing.

“Dad!” Sanji cried in relief, “Dad! Please help me! Help me!”

The helmet connected behind his head- he heard the click of a lock behind it- his vision was terrible in the mask, one eye covered by his hair; the other only being allowed a sliver of sight through a line- when the guards let go, he fell under the weight of the mask, making him feel dizzy.

Sanji scrambled to the iron bars, which had now closed him within the cell, “Papa! It’s me! Sanji! Please help-”

His father slammed a fist on the bars, sending him tumbling backwards, the guards walking away, leaving Sanji staring at Judge behind the bars like a prisoner. “Dad! Dad!” Sanji sobbed, his fingers digging into the sides of his arms, “I’m scared!”

Judge sneered at him, “You are no longer worth anything to me.”

Sanji stopped, the weight on his shoulders forcing him to sag- “What?”

“You were my mistake- you’re a worthless child, it can no longer be ignored under the guise of us sharing blood.” Judge barked turning away, “Being born weak is unacceptable in this world. Your weakness lies in your emotions.”

Judge began walking away, the darkness setting in around Sanji- his knees were scraping on the concrete floors; pebbles scattered in his path. He crawled towards the bars of his cell once again. He clung to the bars, trying to find a way to fit out of them; the helmet preventing his frame from getting through.

Sanji squirmed, falling onto his back, his hands pushing at the mask, getting it up to his chin, but not budging beyond- he tried to use all his force, using his legs for more pressure, but they kept kicking off the ground beyond his will; everything itched- he couldn’t breathe through the iron mask capturing his face.

He picked his head up slamming it into the ground, attempting to break the helmet around his head- his tears hitting the floor as blood started to mix in with his sweat-
“I’m sorry, Dad!” He wept, forcing his head onto the ground- “I’m sorry I was born so weak!”

Sanji stood before Luffy, looking down at his beaten body on the ground- his lip quivering beyond his own will; he heard Nami yelling in the background, being drowned out by his brothers laughter from the carriage behind him.

He crossed his arms, kicking Luffy's body on the ground, “Your weakness lies in your emotions.”
