Stephen just stared in disbelief. He still couldn't fathom that this was Wanda Maximoff. The Darkhold had turned her into something he truly did not recognize anymore.
"How about this?" She continued. "You give me what I want, and I'll put you in a different reality. One where you can have what you truly desire." She offered, giving him a knowing look.
Strange remained unfazed. "There is nothing ..."
"A reality where Tony Stark is still alive. A reality where he loves you, not Pepper Potts. One where you two are happy, together."
The Sorcerer could feel his heart beating in his chest. "How the hell-?"
Wanda smirked. "-Did I know that? I know a lot of things, Stephen. Give me America, and you can be with Tony."
Stephen felt like he was holding his breath. He had never uttered a single word about his affections for the other man. Not even to Wong. Spending so many possible futures with him, he had grown to care about him deeply. He explored hundreds of possibilities doing anything he could think of to save the other man's life, only to fail over and over.
He has dreamt of a life they could have had. He had seen it before as he slept; he knew it was possible. In some other universe out there, there was another him. Another Stephen that still had their Tony Stark.
Strange hated himself for truly considering the offer, but he couldn't go down that road. He lost his chance, but it did give him comfort knowing a version of him had everything he wanted.
With a heavy heart he looked into Wanda's eyes. "You are not to step foot on the sacred grounds of Kamar-Taj."
