A ray of sunlight poured into the room. A kid was sleeping in a bed in the corner of the room. He was snoozing away as he let the comfy daytime continue to soothe him to sleep. He was already content and wanted to sleep the day away.
Which he would actually do until…
“ACK-” “GOODMORNING BROTHER!”
A little duck hybrid child suddenly barged into the room and threw themselves on the sleeping kid. ‘Brother’ jolted awake as he rubbed his eyes and looked at his sibling in annoyance. The kid was practically sitting on him and watching with very excited miscolored eyes. “What…the hell Flower…”, he tiredly asked as his one chance of a sound sleep gone from his grasp.
‘Flower’ just giggled as she got off the bed, “Don’t you remember what day is it today?”, she asked with full anticipation. The excitement in her eyes was still not going away. He looked at her with a confused expression, today? What does she mean…today…today is…
“Our birthday…”, he answered with a surprised tone as today completely slipped from his mind. “It's our birthday today right?”, his tone filled with confidence this time as he got out of bed and grabbed his glasses to see more properly.
‘Flower’ nodded very excitedly as her brown hair bounced with every energy, “Yes yes! I can’t believe you almost forgot our birthday! This is why I’m your favorite sibling.”, she proudly remarked.
“You are my only sibling Flower…”, he sighs as he fixes his hair, he atleast gotta look presentable for his birthday. I mean, ‘Flower’ looks like she had been awake for the past hours, her hair isn’t as messy as he usually would see.
‘Flower’ huffed and turned to him, “Oh come on…can’t you have me let my fun!”, she pouted as her expression was filled with annoyance.
‘Brother’ just laughed at her and rubbed her hair making it all messy again, “HEY!”, ‘Flower’ slapped away his hand as she put her hands on her hair so it won’t get tormented again. “That was not fair!”
“If I let you have your fun then what about me? It's my birthday too you know?”, he laughs as he started to make his way to the door to go to the kitchen, ‘Flower’ could have been waiting for him to cook after all. The two guardians are probably not here anyways.
“I guess that's fair…Oh! Momma and mom are probably gonna come back earlier…atleast that's what they said in the note they left in the kitchen…”, she quietly said the last part, and the excitement from the duck hybrid seemed to be replaced with a somber one instead. She looked down at the floor since she knew ******* wouldn’t like seeing her like this.
She then felt a sudden pat on her head, she looked up and saw ‘Brother’ softly smiling at her, “Don’t let them bother you…isn’t today our birthday?”, he simply states.
‘Flower’ looks at him in a daze before laughing, the excited energy back again. “Yeah, your right! Let's go have the best birthday!”, she cheered as she ran out of the room. ‘Brother’ smiled softly, today is their birthday, ‘Flower’ deserves this.
He was about to leave the room when he stopped and ran back to his bed. He crouched down and pulled a nicely wrapped gift, thankfully he got this from Ran-Ran the night before. He should visit them later but for now, it's his and his twin’s birthday. He stood up and slightly dusted off any dust as he walked to the doorway.

THE VIDEO CAN’T BE PLAYED. PLEASE TRY AGAIN
The words flashed on the screen and now a little girl with bright yellow but disheveled wings was in a dimly lit room. The only light source was from the TV and a nightlight. The TV looked old and connected was a VHS tape player. The girl slightly jabbed the tape player as a VHS tape was slowly withdrawn from the tape player.
She took the tape as she let out a sigh, “It's dusty…”, she stared at the tape in her hands with dazed eyes. She flipped it over and looked at the sides as she read the words that were written on a tape that was stuck onto it.
Happy 8th Birthday Twins!
The girl stared at the words for awhile before droplets of water started to hit the tape. The girl quickly rubbed her eyes even if no one would see them. Her eyes were so puffy and started to ache due to how much she cried. How long did she cry? She couldn’t even answer that herself as there were no windows to see if there was even a day and night cycle. She quickly stopped her crying as she look around the room for what seemed the 35th time.
The room was like a kid's room, there were no windows but there is a door. The door is closed from the underside and was closed securely, there were no door cracks that the girl could look through. She had tried breaking the door down but her attempts were nothing. There was a small bed where she would sleep. There was a shelf where every layer was filled with plushies of all kinds. There was a small table, there's a bunch of paper and crayons placed on it. Then there was a box filled with many VHS tapes, it seemed to never end. There was the TV and the VHS tape player.
But on one certain wall, there were hash marks. When counted, it adds up to 127. The girl is sure that it isn’t the right number as she only puts a hash mark after getting sleep. She doesn’t know why she does this…she guessed it's something to keep her grounded.
The girl stares at the tally wall before putting the VHS tape on top of the tape player. She doesn’t need to see it anymore, she already watched that recording how many times. She was tired right now, she doesn’t want to waste any more tears, not like she has any left. She stood up and climbed onto the bed she had been sleeping in. It still smells like home but this place isn’t home.
The last she remembered before suddenly arriving here is watching William having a bonding time with Grass. Though she was dead and a fake one was in her place, she still loved her brother. She was happily watching the two when everything suddenly went dark. When everything came back, she was in the room.
She didn’t know why she was here or the purpose but escaping is already impossible. She once thrashed the whole room out of a tantrum. When she closed and then opened her eyes again, everything was back to its original place. She repeated the action a few times to experiment to see if the room would change but nothing. It all just went back to its original place the moment she blinked.
And the whole ordeal of not knowing what was happening on the outside was also taking a toll on her.
She gave out another heavy sigh as she tossed and turned in her bed. Remembering all the details she gathered was stressing her out again.
She then suddenly heard a thud.
She sat up and looked where the thud came from before sighing in relief, her stuffed teddy bear had just fallen down because of all the tossing and turning. She almost forgot about this bear, how could she forget about it anyways?
She grabbed it as she laid down on the bed once again but this time she was hugging the teddy bear.
She recalls back to the memory of how she got the stuffed teddy bear. It was a gift from William on their 8th birthday. The same day that was stated on the VHS tape earlier. She remembered ‘Brother’ giving it to her when they were eating their traditional birthday treats that the two would always make on their birthdays. She remembers her excitement and glee when she received the gift from him. After that day, whenever William was out again and not coming back for a certain time. She would think of the teddy bear as him so she wouldn’t miss him too much.
She missed those little times...she should have stayed and listened. She should have never escaped from the house. If she didn’t would everything still be okay?
Soft crying started to echo in the room, the little child started to tremble again. She softly hummed herself to sleep with a song that he used to sing. That always helped her during her stay in this never-ending nightmare.
"I don’t think I’m coming home…"
