Chapter Text
It was a peaceful sunny day at Faraway. Basil was sitting on the couch admiring the letters and drawings he just got from the mail and also the old ones he kept for memories. After all these things make him happy, since they’re from Sunny.
“That’s a lot of papers you got there Basil.” Polly giggled while carrying the laundry basket.
“Yeah I know.” Basil fondly laughed while staring at a cute drawing of a cat playing in colorful flower field.
Whoah,Sunny’s been sending me a lot of letters and drawings. He’s gotten quite good at them. I should write him back.
Basil excitedly paced to his room and got seated at his desk grabbing a few neat papers and envelope.
He took out his pen and started writing.
To my best friend Sunny,
It’s been a year since you left Faraway and we all missed you. A lot. And eversince “that” incident and grandmother’s passing, Polly has been taking care of me more cautious. I feel bad though, I don’t want to trouble her.
Our friends are doing very well too. I feel very happy being together with them after such a long time. Kel’s always energetic as he’ll always be. He even offered to teach me basketball since he said it’ll be good for my health to move around rather than just being inside my house.
Being with Aubrey is still awkward sometimes. There would be tension in the air whenever we are left alone together. But you were right, she’s still nice in heart and we can be in good terms in few times despite many things that happened. Kel’s helping us out with that too. Her friends even apologized to me by giving me some new plants to take care even though I had too many, it was very nice of them though.
With Hero however… He’s still remained the kind and reliable Hero we all know and love. To honest we haven’t really had an actual conversation ever since I got discharged at the hospital after the incident. In fact, he seemed to be avoiding me-no- I’m avoiding him. I’m still scared, after all, I’m the one who hurt him… Even if he said that he already forgave me and you, I know somewhere deep down he still has hatred towards me. We can’t look at each other in the eye… I really am the worst-
“BAAASIIIL!!!”
“Ugh- You’re too loud Kel!”
“OUCH?!”
Basil was jolted out of his thoughts and his hand stopped writing after hearing a familiar voice call out. He let out a sigh before walking out of his room and headed for the door opening it.
“Oh hey there Kel and Aubrey.” Basil greeted two of his bickering friends. Kel massaging his head probably because Aubrey wacked him to shut up.
“Oh hey there Basil. Sorry if Kel’s a bit loud.” Aubrey sighed.
“Oh it’s okay. So what’s up?” Basil asked.
“Guess what? Hero’s baking cookies! A lot!!!Let’s go together at my house! Come on what do you say!” Kel excitedly responded his arms flailing in excitement.
At their house… This could be a chance to talk to Hero.
“Sure…” Basil answered a bit hesitant.
“Hm? Something wrong?” Aubrey asked concerned.
Basil shook his head managing a small smile. “Ah I’m fine. I was just about to write Sunny back a letter. So I was wondering of you don’t mind waiting-“
“Okay we’ll wait here!” Kel beamed.
“I’m fine with it too. Send our regards to him as well." Aubrey added.
“Got it. I won’t make you wait too long.” Basil nodded and quickly went back to his room. Sitting at his desk and continued writing.
So yeah. I’ll do my best to at least to talk things out with Hero properly even if it’s just a little. I’m scared but I’m sure… Everything will be alright…Right?
By the way, my birthday will be on the day after tomorrow. So if you can, I’ll be very happy if you can pay us a visit. I’m sending regards from our dear friends; Kel, Aubrey and Hero.

Basil set the pen down satisfied, folded the paper neatly and carefully putting it inside the envelope not forgetting to place a seal.
He looked at himself at the mirror deciding he looks decent, he stepped out of his room and went to the living room.
“You done with the letter?” Kel excitedly jumped out of the couch he was sitting on.
“He’s too excited just to eat some cookies…” Aubrey mumbled but smiling a bit.
“I let them in to get more comfortable.” Polly added.
“Um, Polly. Do you think you can send this mail for me?” Basil asked handed her the envelope.
“Sure thing I don’t mind.” She accepted with a smile.
“Thank you. I’ll going out with Kel and Aubrey, I’ll be back later.” Basil smiled back.
“Have fun.” Polly wave. “I’ll leave Basil to you two okay.”
“Yes ma’am!” Kel gave a salute while Aubrey just nodded and waved a hand.
With that the three left to the direction to Kel and Hero’s house while Basil tries his best to ignore the butterflies in his stomach not knowing what to do or what will happen when they arrive there.
