Chapter Text
The day was bright, the seas were calm, a perfect day to set sail.
Captain Sun of the Supernova was watching over his crew as they carried the supplies from the ship they captured onto theirs, they wouldn’t take everything just most of it. Sun wasn’t a cruel pirate, he hated leaving those he pillaged starving.
“Ooooh! Captain look, sugar! I can make sweets with this!” Chica their cook and lookout bounced excitedly, it wasn’t often they got their hands on rare ingredients and sugar was hard to come by out at sea.
“Wonderful Chica, I can’t wait to see what you come up with” Sun turned his attention to Freddy who had just finished patching up the last crew member from the other ship. Freddy was Sun’s loyal first mate but also doubled as a doctor, he was usually followed by his son/cabin boy Gregory.
“The last one is bandaged, they should be fine now with the supplies we left them, it’s not far to the next shore” Sun nodded and called out for his crew to depart, he gave the captain of the other ship a sly grin before jumping between the two ships and landing safely on the deck.
“Sail due East for the nearest shore” Bonnie, their navigator, called out as they sailed away.
Sun hummed a small tune as he went below deck passing the few humans that made up his crew along the way. He informed Chica to wake him once supper was ready before heading to his quarters for a well deserved nap.
Not far off, but far enough away to avoid detection, another ship gently bobbed amongst the ocean waves.
“Captain Moon, he just went below deck” Monty had a telescope up to one eye as he watched the crew from the Supernova celebrating their latest haul.
“Excellent work Monty, send word to Roxy to set a course, we’ll have their ship before daybreak tomorrow” Monty nodded before running off to do as his captain commanded, Moon was captain of the Eclipse, the most feared ship that ever sailed the seven seas. He always snuck up at night when it’s harder to detect and he always captures any ship before daybreak.
Moon’s first mate Monty quickly climbed up the pole and into the crows nest, there navigator Roxy kept watch for any ships thinking they might try their luck.
“Yo Roxy, captain said to set a course for the Supernova” Roxy’s eyes widened before a dark grin crossed her face.
“About damn time, I was getting bored up here” Roxy jumped off the ledge landing perfectly before flipping her hair and walking up to the wheel. Monty grabbed the rope and slid down, having been forbidden from jumping after he cracked the deck in two last time.
A few human crew were scrubbing the deck when Monty landed, they quickly got out of his way least they be tossed overboard. Monty laughed as he knocked a bucket of water over with his tail, forcing the humans to mop up the water before Moon saw it.
Moon had decided to visit DJ and his apprentice Mike or better known as mini DJ. Besides repairing and keeping the ship in tip top shape, they both made wonderful music. Moon walked in just as they started their violin duet, choosing to stay out of sight for now and just listen. When they finished he clapped startling them both.
“You are getting better Mini” Mike looked at the ground embarrassed, he wasn’t used to praise from anyone other than DJ.
“Thank you sir, I’ll keep practicing and make you proud” Moon nodded, Mike had been a stowaway that DJ found, he hid him until Moon discovered them. If DJ hadn’t pleaded for his life Moon would have tossed the child overboard.
He stayed and chatted for a bit before leaving, promising to come back later to listen to their new piece. Moon made his way further down, the dim lighting and faint screams made for an eerie atmosphere. Opening a door he saw Vanessa aka Vanny the Cruel whipping a human who had tried to steal from Moon’s room the day before.
Vanessa looked up as Moon walked in, grinning before kicking the prisoner and walking towards him.
“Moon, to what do I owe the pleasure?” Vanessa had also been a stowaway, but she was also a runaway slave fleeing her master burn trap. Moon liked her fiery attitude so he made her a jailer on his ship.
“Just thought I’d pay a visit to the poor fool who tried to rob me” The man whimpered and futility tried to get away before Moon grabbed him. The man screamed as his arm was bent at an unnatural angle until it snapped.
“Let that be your warning, never take what’s mine, got it?” The man nodded clutching his broken arm. Moon turned to walk away before hearing a shot then a thud, he chuckled and kept walking not bothering to look behind him.
“Make sure you clean that up, I don’t like messes on my ship” With that he slammed the door shut heading to his quarters.
