Work Text:
Feather-light touches of cool metal against the skin of a neck made warm by the morning sun.
Voices powerful enough to make even the earliest riser want to lay in bed and soak in the attention.
Cream-coloured sheets, soft as the down of a baby bird.
Candles, releasing the most intoxicating scent of forest wood.
Morning routines mixed with playful banter sharp as knives.
Breakfast of the highest quality, doubted by none but the other's petty grudge.
Sunlight, streaming through a curtain a dark hair, as lifeless limbs comb through it with their fingers.
Starry gray eyes, filled with laughter as a kettle wheezed in the kitchen.
Two brilliant shades of red, so strikingly similar, two pairs of lips, meeting to warm the other.
It was the simple things.
