A small Monkey boy lay in his mother’s arms, smiling softly at him, though confused about where the soft tail and large ears came from on her son. She remembered the boy’s father, a handsome man seemingly in his thirties, with bright blonde hair and golden eyes and VERY much human-looking. She realized he must have been under a glamour but it was a little too late now and well- they were extremely cute.

Her wife walks into the room, a petite fox demon woman, who cooed softly at the cub in her arms. “He’s so handsome. But a monkey? I thought he was human?” She asked her wife, who nodded frowning a little, kissing the head of her sleeping son.

“I guess he was under a glamour love. I’ve never seen any monkey demons before though anywhere around here.” The boy’s mom spoke, eyebrows furrowing in thought.

Her wife hums, thinking. “They’re thought to be instinct. I guess they must have just gone into hiding. It makes sense, that is what the Monkey King is, not to mention the Six-eared Macaque. Both were extremely powerful and born as monkey demons. Many wanted that power to themselves.” She spoke with a frown.

The baby’s mother frowned, hugging her son close. “What if… What if someone comes for him, Xie Mei?” She asked her wife, worried. “What if they try to take him cause of what he is.

Xie kissed her head, frowning softly. “I’ll find a way to hide his powers and appearance. Don’t worry, I’ll protect Qi Xiaotian, my love.” She told her.

The baby, Qi Xiaotian, slept peacefully, tail clumsily wrapped around him as he slept nestled close to his mother.

Five-year-old Qi Xiaotian giggled as he ran from his Mama, running quickly to his Mom. “Mom! Save meeeeee!” He squealed, hiding behind her leg.

Li Ru giggled softly at him before looking at her wife Xie Mei. “Are you torturing our poor baby hun?” She asked teasingly, picking up Qi.

Xie Mei laughed softly, smiling. “If making him put on pants is torturing, then I guess so.” She confessed, making the other smile.

“Qi you know you need to wear pants. If you hurry up and get dressed, I’ll let you help me bake.” His mom told the small boy, who gasped and hopped out of her arms, rushing to go get on his pants. He loved baking with his Mom!

Xie laughed, leaning against the counter as Li Ru leaned against her. “That boy has so much energy.” The fox demon spoke, hugging her wife close.

Li Ru hummed in agreement, leaning against her wife. “One day we’ll need to tell him about his birth.” She spoke, looking at the other. “We can’t hide it from the boy forever.”

Her wife nodded in agreement, kissing her head. “And we will. But let him be a kid first. We can tell him when he’s older. He’ll understand it better then. For now, he’s just a kid.” Xie told her.

“Mom! I got pants! Can we make Apricot cobbler!?” Qi Xiaotian yelled, running in. Both women laughed as they saw he barely had the pants on, only halfway up his legs and on backward.

“Oh, sweetie let me help!” Li Ru spoke, helping him fix his pants.

“Can we though? Please, mom!?” The boy asked, giving her his best puppy dog eyes, making his mother giggle.

“Alright alright. You and your apricot obsession.” She joked. The boy had been obsessed with apricots since he was a babe, preferring them to any other fruit. Peaches were the next best thing if he had to choose, but he definitely enjoyed the yellow-orange fruit more.

“Yay!” The boy yelled excitedly, rushing to the sink to wash his hands so he could help.

Eight-year-old Qi Xiaotian, or MK as he had been calling himself since his obsession with Monkey King started, ran into the restaurant happily. “Hey, Uncle Tang! Hey Uncle Pigsy! Monkey Kid is here!” He yelled, posing as the two adults chuckled at his antics. His mothers followed him shortly after, smiling exasperated.

“Qi you know you aren’t supposed to run ahead like that.” His mom told him, making the boy pout.

“I didn’t go far! We were like… ten feet from Pigsy’s!” He defended.

“Now now, listen to your Mom kiddo, it’s for the best. ” Pigsy told him.

“Thanks again for babysitting him tonight you two.” Xie Mei said, ruffling the boy’s hair who was already seated by Tang, who was telling him another Monkey King story.

“Not a problem. The kid is great. You two have fun tonight.” Pigsy replied, bringing out a bowl of noodles for the kid, who happily took it with a thank you before eating them.

“Sweetheart, you be good for Pigsy and Tang tonight okay? We’ll see you tomorrow.” His mom said, making the kid nod as he hopped down, running over and hugging them both.

“Alright! Bye Mama! Bye, Mom! Love you guys so so so much!” MK told them happily, as the two women hugged him back.

“Bye baby boy, we love you too.” His Mama replied with a smile as the three separated, the mothers heading out for a romantic night out.

Mk ran back over to his bowl of noodles and Uncle Tang, who smiled as he found a story.

“Alright MK, have you heard the story of when Monkey King stole the immortal peaches from the heavenly garden?” Tang asked, getting an excited gasp from the boy.

“He did?! Oh, tell me! Tell me!” Mk chanted, excited as he gave the scholar his full attention.

Tang chuckled before starting the story. “Well, Monkey king heard a rumor about the fruits from the heavenly garden, the immortal peaches.-”

(Gore Warning )

Eleven-year-old MK cried as he stood by his mothers’ graves as they were buried. It had been a freak accident. They had been driving home and a semi driver had fallen asleep at the wheel, running them off the road and off a cliff. His mom had died on impact, they said. His Mama hadn’t. He had heard whispers from the others. She had died stuck in the car, bleeding from multiple injuries, including a hole in her stomach, next to her dead wife before succumbing to her wounds ten minutes or so before the paramedics got there.

(Gore Ended)

Qi Xiaotian was alone now. He didn’t know his father, his mom hadn’t even known. They had told him that he had never been told. It had been a one-time meeting to have him, his dad hadn’t even known about it.

Pigsy rested a hand on MK’s shoulder, making the crying boy look up at his uncle, who looked at him grimly. “Come on kid. Let's get you home okay?” He told him, he and Tang were his godfathers and next in line for custody of the boy.

MK nodded sadly, following the pig demon to his van, knowing he would never be able to go home again.

His moms had been his home, and they were gone.

Nineteen-year-old Qi Xiaotian rushed down the stairs from his apartment, running into Pigsy’s with a smile. “Hey, Uncle Pigsy! Any orders ready for me?” He asked with a grin, earning a chuckle from the pig demon as he motioned toward the pile.

“Yep, time to get to work kiddo,” Pigsy told him, earning a grin and nod as he grabbed them before heading out to the delivery cart, securing them before setting up his music and GPS, before heading off.

The boy had no clue what awaited him.
