Hanging out with scary uncle (again)

Summary:

“Venice try again,” said Venice and tried making the frown disappear again, but it didn’t work. “Uncle needs to smile,” said Venice and now tried pulling the corners of Kim’s lips up. As the toddler was moulding his uncle’s face into a kinder looking one, Kim’s patience was slowly melting away and he reached his limit.

“Enough,” said Kim, his voice low and Venice flinched.

“Scary,” stated Venice and shook his head, jumping off of Kim’s lap, going onto the floor and he shook his head. “Venice can’t save you,” said the toddler as he strutted away from him.

[It’s KimChay’s turn to babysit Venice.]

Work Text:

Kim was sitting on the couch, his legs crossed, his arms crossed as well because he wasn’t in a really good mood. When he agreed to come by the main family’s mansion he didn’t really anticipate this. He was going there to meet up with Porchay, not to get stuck babysitting the kid. Porchay didn’t mention anything about Venice being there and even if Kim didn’t quite dislike the boy, he also didn’t… he didn’t know what to do with him. He didn’t know how to act around children.

Children were way too loud, they required way too much energy.

Kim pressed his lips together and frowned when he saw Porchay now holding Venice in his arms. The two of them were playing some kind of a game that was unknown to Kim, but they were having a lot of fun. Porchay was spinning around with Venice in his arms and the boy was happily giggling, his excited screeches piercing through Kim’s ears and he sighed.

Kim wasn’t even the one playing with Venice, but he was already tired and to think that he would have to spend the entire afternoon with the kid was tiring as well. Kim pressed his lips together as he glanced up and he narrowed his eyes when he saw Porchay looking at him.

Porchay could tell that Kim wasn’t happy and he kind of understood Kim. Porchay didn’t really say that Venice would be staying with them when he called him over. However, he also knew that Kim wouldn’t have showed up if he told him that he would be babysitting him. And the last time that the two of them looked after Venice – it was fun, wasn’t it? At least to Porchay.

“Ay, Kim, what’s with the long face?” asked Porchay with the sweetest smile that he could muster and Kim gave him an annoyed look.

“I thought it would be just us,” said Kim, not beating around the bushes and Venice glanced at Porchay, then at Kim and he cocked his head to the side. He could sense some kind of a tension that he couldn’t really understand and he leaned closer to Porchay.

“Is evil uncle angry?” whispered Venice and Porchay laughed nervously.

“Maybe just a little bit,” said Porchay and Venice shuddered.

“Cheer evil up,” said Venice and Porchay pressed his lips together.

Together with Venice in his arms, he plopped down onto the couch. Venice was now sitting next to Porchay, who scooted closer to Kim and wrapped his arms around his forearm and rested his head on top of Kim’s shoulder and looked up at him, blinking a few times and then he smiled shyly, pouting a little bit. Kim huffed and he tensed up.

“Don’t be angry, mn?” asked Porchay cutely.

Porchay knew what he was doing.

Kim wanted to stay annoyed so badly and yet Porchay knew exactly how to manipulate his feelings. Kim glanced at Venice, who was now hiding behind Porchay and waiting for Kim to calm down. After all, Venice was still a little bit afraid of Kim and Kim liked that. He liked knowing that people were afraid of him. He looked back at Porchay, who squeezed himself closer to him and all that Kim could do-

“I’m not mad,” said Kim with a tiny smile and gently ruffled Porchay’s hair.

Porchay’s heart happily fluttered. To see Porchay smile like that… It was worth it. Kim glanced past Porchay, looking at Venice, who was still peeking from behind Porchay and he huffed. It wasn’t going to be so mad, maybe?

“I’m sorry for not telling you,” continued Porchay and Kim glanced down at him again. “But I knew if I told you, you wouldn’t have showed up,” said Porchay and Kim slowly nodded.

“It’s okay,” said Kim, his voice now warm and Porchay happily closed his eyes.

Kim should have been kinder to Venice – after all, he got a second chance with Porchay all thanks to him .

“It’ll be fun, you’ll see,” said Porchay and when Kim looked at Venice again he already felt tired. Still, he didn’t have the heart to let Porchay know that, so he just smiled and nodded.

“Don’t just do that,” said Kim when Porchay placed Venice into his lap.

“It’ll be fine,” said Porchay and Venice tensed up.

“Uncle is leaving?” asked Venice when he saw Porchay going over to the door and Porchay shook his head.

“I’ll go get us some snacks,” said Porchay and Kim glanced down at the kid, his eyes going over to Porchay, shaking his head. “I’ll be back in a second. Look after him for a little while. It’ll be fine,” said Porchay, who wanted Kim to finally get it that looking after Venice wasn’t so bad.

“Oh, snacks! Venice wants! Hurry, uncle Chay!” said the boy, no longer caring that he was sitting in Kim’s lap, happily rubbing his little palms together. “So many snacks, bring, bring!”

Porchay chuckled and nodded. Seeing the surprised look on Kim’s face… It was funny.

“Porchay-”

“I’ll be back right away,” promised Porchay and Kim pressed his lips together, looking down at Venice, who was silently sitting there. Kim cleared his throat, his eyes going over to the door and he shook his head.

“Chay, he’ll cry,” said Kim and Venice glanced up at him.

“Venice is not a baby,” said Venice, offended and he crossed his arms on top of his chest. “Won’t cry. Evil uncle is a liar,” said Venice and Kim narrowed his eyes as he looked down at Venice, frowning.

“Well, I don’t know-”

“Why always do this?” asked Venice and tried mimicking Kim’s frown, shaking his head. “Not good.”

“Hah?”

Venice leaned up, reaching out his hand and Kim started moving his face away from Venice, who was quicker and he pressed his finger in between his eyebrows, tugging up as to make the frown disappear from Kim’s face. However, as he removed his fingers, the frown was back and even deeper than before.

“Not working,” said Venice and Kim scowled at him.

“Porchay!”

“Venice can’t save you,” he said and strutted away, going out of the room, following Porchay so that he could help him with preparing the snacks.

Kim sat there and blinked a few times - what had just happened?

“Play us a song, play us a song,” was chanting Porchay, both him and Venice sitting on a couch. Venice looked over to Porchay and he perked up. He knew that the evil uncle could sing as well, but he didn’t want to bother him too much. However, now that Porchay was chanting it happily, his good mood was rubbing off on Venice as well and he started jumping up and down.

“Yes, uncle, sing, sing!” said Venice and Kim rolled his eyes, but he still had a smile on his face mainly because of Porchay. It was kind of hard to frown when Porchay was smiling so sweetly at him and he huffed under his breath.

“Come on, Kim, sing us a song,” said Porchay and Kim in the end reached over for his guitar and Venice’s eyes widened and he happily looked at Porchay.

“Evil uncle will sing?”

“Mn,” said Kim and Porchay leaned closer to Venice and gave him a little wink.

Porchay smiled softly when he looked at Kim because he knew deep down that Kim liked spending time with Venice as well. Hopefully, Porchay would have loved that it was the case. But, Porchay knew Kim well enough to know that Kim wouldn’t go along with everything that Venice proposed if he didn’t like him and he sighed in the end.

Porchay was happy indeed.

“What should I sing?” asked Kim, his eyes on Porchay, who quickly glanced down and shyly smiled. The way Kim would look at him now, it was… it made Porchay feel way too shy, so he just cleared his throat and clasped his hands together.

“You can pick whatever you wanna sing,” said Porchay and Venice nodded.

“Yes, go, go,” said Venice and leaned closer. In the end he sat in the middle of Porchay and Kim, waiting for the scary uncle to finally start singing and playing the guitar. Kim was thinking for a little longer, but then he remembered something that he could play for Porchay and he grinned, winking.

“Then,” said Kim. “It’ll be a new song I’ve been working on. It’s not completely finished yet,” said Kim and Venice’s eyes widened in awe.

“A new song, uncle Chay!” said Venice happily.

“We have the honour to hear a brand new song, Venice!”

“I wrote it for you,” said Kim with a smug grin on his face and Porchay felt how his body immediately heated up. His body started overheating even more when he continued to look into Kim’s eyes and he quickly glanced down, pressing his cold hands against his warm cheeks and he cleared his throat.

Kim wrote a song for him?!

“Uncle, what’s wrong?” asked Venice once he saw how red Porchay’s face was. “Feeling sick?”

“N-no, I’m fine,” said Porchay and tried to avoid Kim’s gaze. He knew for a fact that the other one was still smirking now and he could feel his gaze on him. Still, in the end, Porchay looked up and he shyly asked. “You wrote a song for me?’’ asked Porchay and Kim nodded.

“Mn.”

“I wanna hear it,” said Porchay and Kim’s smile widened just a little bit.

As Kim played the song, singing along, Porchay’s smile was getting wider and wider. Venice liked the song, but it was Porchay that loved it the most and when Kim stopped playing the song, there was a little smile on his lips, looking over to Porchay to see what he thought and he chuckled when he saw the little blush on the other’s cheeks.

When the song ended, Venice started happily clapping because the song was really good. Porchay glanced at him and clapped along as well, smiling shyly as he kept looking up and down. It was kind of embarrassing to look at Kim at that moment. After that song… Porchay felt shy and there was a smug little grin on Kim’s face for that. He liked knowing that he could make Porchay blush so easily, glancing over to Porchay again.

“What do you think?” asked Kim and Porchay giggled.

“I like it,” said Porchay and then he narrowed his eyes. Ah, he more than just liked it. “I really, really like it,” he said, his heart happily pounding against his chest and he chewed on his lower lip.

“Mn,” said Kim happily and proudly raised his head.

“Thank you,” said Porchay and he leaned into the touch when Kim gently ruffled his hair, resting his head upon the back of Porchay’s neck. Kim gently pulled Porchay in, but when he was about to kiss him, Venice decided to interrupt the moment and Kim’s eyes darkened, gritting his teeth.

“Venice wanna play guitar now,” announced Venice.

“Venice… timing,” said Porchay and he narrowed his eyes. He wanted that kiss!

Venice innocently glanced up and he pouted.

“What did Venice do?” asked the boy and Porchay laughed.

“Nothing,” said Porchay and Venice glanced at Kim again, shaking his head. Evil uncle was frowning again. Was it something that he did? Because Venice didn’t remember doing something bad. Venice hummed and started thinking.

Kim rolled his eyes, but he eventually smiled.

“You wanna play the guitar?” asked Kim and Venice nodded.

“Yes. Venice can.”

“Really?”

“Yes, yes!” said Venice and Kim slowly placed the guitar down. The plan was to give the guitar to Venice, but as he placed the guitar down, Venice was already climbing up into his lap and then he tapped Kim’s hand. “Venice is ready,” announced the boy happily and Kim blinked a few times.

Since when did the kid feel so comfortable around him?

Porchay laughed and he leaned back against the couch. Kim with Venice looked adorable. He handed the guitar to Kim, who gently placed it into Venice’s lap, holding onto the guitar since it was way too big for the toddler and Venice frowned.

“Uncle, problem,” said Venice and turned around.

“Problem?” asked Kim.

“Guitar is big,” said Venice and Kim huffed.

“Let’s, um, let’s work together,” said Kim awkwardly and Venice nodded. “I’ll take care of this part,” said Kim and pointed to the neck of the guitar.

“Oh. Venice will play here,” said Venice as he pointed to the body of the guitar and Kim nodded.

“I’ll sing then,” said Porchay and scooted closer to the two of them and Kim gave him a little nod.

Kim’s heart felt warm when his eyes met with Porchay’s and he glanced down, giving Venice a little nod.

“Venice will start making music,” said Venice and happily slid his fingers down the strings.

“Mn,” said Kim, holding the guitar.

Venice’s little arms were barely able to reach the chords. Kim tipped the guitar towards himself a little bit, which allowed Venice better access and he giggled as he continued playing on the guitar. Kim, on the other hand, tried playing a few different chords. Porchay started humming to the melody of the song, going out of the beat since Venice decided on the rhythm of the song, which changed rapidly every now and then.

Porchay laughed, but eventually caught up with Venice and started singing, singing about sunshine and flowers. Why? He had no idea, but he felt happy and he wanted to sing about those. Venice was happily giggling, while Kim’s heart was currently in the process of melting when he listened to the giggles and Porchay’s singing.

Kim felt unusually happy and it was kind of annoying how he wasn’t able to hold back a smile, but he realised that he didn’t mind smiling so much. Venice was now singing alone, making up his own lyrics as he went on and Kim started laughing, glancing at Porchay, who wasn’t singing anymore, but was only smiling as he watched Kim and Venice.

Kim leaned closer to Porchay, forgetting that he was supposed to be changing the chords. Caught up in the moment, Kim’s fingers gently hugged Porchay’s chin and pulled him closer. Venice was so caught up in his own song that he didn’t see how Kim pressed his lips on top of Porchay’s for a split moment. Porchay shyly pulled away, but the smile on his lips gave it away how happy he was.

Kim hummed as he glanced down at the kid and ruffled his hair softly.

Kim didn’t really like kids, but Venice was an exception.

Venice was a special kid.

“Do you think we’re interrupting something?” asked Vegas and glanced at Pete.

Pete and Vegas were there to pick Venice up, but neither of them were sure if they wanted to interrupt the moment. Porchay made it clear to the two of them that he was going to invite Kim over and Vegas allowed him to do that. Kim was now on Vegas’ good side since he protected Macau as well… in his own very way, but still. Vegas decided that for now Venice could hang out with his cousin.

“I’m not sure,” said Pete and laughed softly, leaning against the doorframe, keeping his arms crossed.

It was quite a funny sight to behold. Porchay was standing in the middle of the room, his eyes blindfolded while he was trying to find Venice and Kim, who were quietly hiding behind the couch. Venice giggled and Porchay smiled.

“I can hear you two!”

“Shh,” said Kim and pressed his finger against his lips.

That only made Venice giggle louder.

Pete laughed when he saw the three of them and he decided to close the door.

“Let them have their fun for a little longer,” said Pete and Vegas slowly nodded and reached down with his hand, taking Vegas’ hands into his own ones and pulled him closer. Vegas knitted his eyebrows closer, but allowed Pete to pull him in and press their lips together a few times and Vegas smiled down at Pete when they parted, resting his forehead against Pete’s.

“I think it’s funny,” said Pete and Vegas looked at him.

“Mn?”

“That Kim and Venice get along after all,” said Pete and then he hummed. “However… Maybe it’s not that weird after all. You two are rather alike,” said Pete and Vegas narrowed his eyes. “You and Kim,” said Pete.

“No, we’re not.”

“Yes, you are,” said Pete and Vegas rolled his eyes.

“How so? I’m clearly much better than him,” said Vegas and Pete started laughing, rolling his eyes.

“Yeah, your ego is much bigger,” said Pete and continued laughing when he saw the offended look on Vegas’ face. Vegas was about to say something in his defence, but then he heard arguing coming from the inside of the room.

Curiously, the two of them decided to listen to the argument.

Apparently, Venice and Porchay were bickering over who was the one that cheated.

Vegas was about to jump into the room and defend Venice, but Pete took his hand and started dragging him away.

“Let them handle it,” said Pete and Vegas narrowed his eyes.

“But-”

“Let’s go see what Porsche is doing,” said Pete and Vegas just allowed himself to be dragged away.
