who's his father?!

Summary:

"Hello?"
"I'm sorry to inform you that your father was found dead this morning."
Aizawa's stomach dropped. The problem child's father died, and he made Midoriya share such a sensitive matter with the rest of the class. And worst of all, Midoriya was pretending to be calm as his world was probably shattering around hi-
"I know you're not dead" What?
"Izuku, just let your old man rest in peace" What?!

Work Text:

A faint vibration. Very faint that it'd be hard for anyone to hear, but they're heroes in training, and their teacher is an underground hero.

Aizawa's hand stilled for a moment, then he turned towards the source of the vibration.

It was the problem child's phone.

the moment the problem child picked up the phone, Aizawa prayed. He prayed that it was something normal. Not a villain calling to repent. Or to recruit the problem child. Or one of his many, many, friends telling him about some weird activities in their neighborhood. Or another cult he'd "Accidentally" created (how the fuck do you accidentally-) Aizawa prays with all his might if only to help his rapidly greying hair ( he made a bet with Hizashi and he's not losing)

The problem child put the phone on speaker, as per the class's rules (he doesn't want a repeat of the cult time)

"Midoriya Izuku"

"Midoriya-san, I am Okumura Chiharu from the Musutafu Police department. I am sorry to inform you that your father has been found dead this morning" Aizawa's stomach dropped. He's starting to regret making his student answer such a sensitive phone call in the classroom.

Gasps could be heard all around the room. All the students are giving Midoriya worried looks, some look like they're ready to engulf him in a hug, but the problem child looks calm. Suspiciously so.

"I understand. Thank you for informing me, sir" Midoriya ended the call, but he didn't put his phone down.

The whole room was silent, unsure of what to do. The silence stretched for a moment until Bakugo decided to break it.

"Your old man is still alive?" he asked, confusion evident in his voice.

"BAKUGO-"

"Yeah, I dragged him back to the family a while ago" ...What? The Problem child said that with so much nonchalance. This is not like him. he wouldn't be that calm about a man's death-

A ringing started. The problem child was calling someone.

"Midoriya-" Aizawa started, trying to tell him that he doesn't need to have this call in the class.

*click*

Whoever Midoriya was calling answered.

"I know you're not dead" What?

"*sigh* Izuku, champ, please. Just let your old man rest in peace" What?!

"Nu-uh, you still owe me six years of being there, and a few more for hiding that I have a brother?! And for giving my brother trauma. That's not even including what you did to my uncles. And do you know how awkward explaining you to Toshinori-san will be? You're the one who's going to explain all that to him! So no, I'm not letting you rest anytime soon." What in the ever-loving fuck is he talking about? His father gave his brother (he has a brother?) trauma?! What does any of this have to do with Yagi? And what did he do to his uncles?

"'Zuku, that was a long time ago, and who said anything about explaining this to the buffoon? we could just sweep that bit under the rug-"

"Like how you didn't tell mom about Tomura?" Midoriya shot back tiredly

"Tomura? Are you talking about Shigaraki Tomura?" And with that, the Problem child whipped his face towards Aizawa, seemingly only now remembering where he is.

"...Izuku, where are you right now?"

"...in the classroom?"

"Shit*click*"

Everyone was looking at the problem child as he let out a tired sigh (and honestly, Aizawa felt that) and looked through his contacts once more.

"So," Bakugo, once again, broke the silence "The old man is...?"

"A supervillain. Probably a mafia boss"

...

"Yeah, I can see it. He was very weird. Why do you even want him around?"

"I'm trying to steal Tomura and uncle Kuroboro from him. I mean, did you see what he did to them?!"

"Yeah, Shiga-Tomura? Should I call him Tomura now? He is pretty fucked up, but what did he do to oji-boro?" And it's at this point, when he hears Bakugo referring to this 'Kuroboro' in a respectful, familiar manner, does Aizawa decide to do what he always does when he's feeling lost. Throw the problem at Nedzu-sensei, lay back, and watch the show.

"I prefer calling him Tomura 'cause he's my bro, buuut he doesn't really like it. It's better to ask him before calling him that. And remember Kurogiri?"

"The misty fucker? Hard to forget"

"Yeah, he's actually oji-boro-MOM! Dad faked his death again!!" Midoriya yelled into his phone, leaving Bakugo to process whatever happened to Kuroboro (the name sounds familiar) and Aizawa mildly concerned about the blank stare Bakugo is sporting.

"yeah I've already called him, but I kinda forgot that I'm in the classroom- no no, I'm in Aizawa-sensei's session- I know, mama, but please catch dad first before he takes Tomura and Kuroboro again!- *sigh*- I know I messed up!- Alright, fine.  Also, can Kacchan have dinner with us? he wants to see oji-boro again.- Thanks, mom! Love you!"

Everyone watched Midoriya return his phone back to his bag, pick up his pencil and continue writing in his notebook as if nothing had ever happened.

The greenette looked up at his quiet sensei, who's contemplating whether he should send his student to Nedzu or just curl up and take a nap.

"Sorry for taking so long, Sensei! Everything is OK now! Oh, and Kacchan! Mom says you can have dinner with us tonight! Oji-boro is starting to regain his memories, and I'm sure he'd be ecstatic to see you again!" Seemingly satisfied with the nod he got, Midoriya once again returned to his notebook.

Aizawa let out a tired sigh, and then curled up in his sleeping bag. Nedzu-sensei probably already knows what's up. He's probably going to deal with it.
