Chapter 1: Intro

Chapter Text

For most, hell was a horrible place of death and torture. For a machine that ran on blood, it was heaven. Or hell, in this case. There was no end to the supply of blood. Hell was full. Full of blood and everything V1 could ever want.

Some of the demons were even…charming? As charming as a demon could be that is. And charming or not, V1 would still slay them.

V1 crept through the metal passageways of hell, optical and threat sensors alert for any and all threats. Their thoughts trailed back into blood and the thrill of killing, which eventually led to thoughts of V2.

V2 was much like them, they were both machines that ran on blood, and they both looked the same. Save for the color-scheme, that is. They both had similar abilities, they both had winglets. They were one of the same.

And yet, they needed to die. Hell was full for now, but they couldn’t have anyone else stealing blood from them. And therefore, V2 had to die.

V1 was terribly hungry, or…whatever it was they felt when they were low on blood. Blood to V1 was akin to food for humans, it powered them, gave them energy, gave them strength.

But the depths of hell were strangely…empty. V1 couldn’t find a single demon to kill for a fresh dose of blood. And V1 noticed that was not normal. The demons of hell never hesitated to crawl out from corners and shadows and run towards him, no matter their size. Even the weak, armless Filth tried to attack them.

And yet

There was nothing.

V1 continued to cautiously prowl around the hallways, uncharacteristically silent. V1 always went in guns blazing, eager to kill and feed on sweet, warm, blood. But V1 understood something was wrong.

V1 turned the corner of the hallway, which opened up into a room with a strange glowing sphere in the center. It flickered and warped the world around it, unnatural. V2 stood, guns seemingly missing, staring up at the light, seemingly entranced.

Usually, V1 would jump at the opportunity for blood, they would beat V2 into a bloody pulp and eagerly absorb all the blood and sinew they possessed.

But something was wrong

V1’s systems were screaming at them that something was wrong.

V1 watched as V2 grabbed a coin from…somewhere, one of V1’s coins. They studied it for a moment, before tossing it into the glowing sphere.

Nothing happened.

And then everything happened at once.

The orb let out a high-pitched shrieking sound, overlapped with the screams of the dammed. Well, it was definitely made in hell, then. The orb screamed louder, and V2 was sucked in, along with a few metal panels on the wall. V1’s instincts (programming?) kicked in and they hastily grappled to the wall, fighting against the pull of the strange sphere. They needed to stop it somehow.

Naturally, V1 tried shooting at it, and when that didn’t work, they decided to continue to fight against the pull of the orb. Their winglets beat frantically as if that would save them. While the winglets could help with short dashes and weapon storage, they did not allow V1 to fly, and V1 dearly wished they did now.

The wall panel V1’s grapple was attached to wobbled, and went flying off into the sphere, taking V1 with it. They made a last attempt to grapple out, but it was all for naught, and V1 was sucked in.
