For You, I'd Set the World on Fire

Summary:

Rozemyne died in Ferdinand's arms when the power of the gods overwhelmed her. This caused Yurgenschmidt to return to white sand. In order to save Erwaermen, the goddesses bring Rozemyne back in time and order her to become Zent. She will do as the gods say, but this time, she will make sure Ferdinand is happy, AND she has time to read more books!

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

I feel as if I’m floating in the air. I can’t feel my body or see anything, but I can hear voices around me. The last thing I remembered was dying in Ferdinand’s arms as the power of the gods descended on me. I’m so sorry I left you all alone!

“Can you unravel and reweave the fabric, Ventuchte? I don’t want to lose Erwaermen .”

I heard Mestionora’s voice speaking to someone else. Was it another goddess? Ventuchte was the Goddess of Weaving, right?

“I can, but how far back should we go? It’s hard to distinguish the Myne thread from the Quinta thread.”

“Here, I think. This is when she received her divine will?”

My divine will? Mestionora, do you hate me? Why so far back!

“Yes, yes, this should be a good place. Dregarnuhr, can you move time back to this spot on the weave?” The voice I now thought must be Ventuchte asked.

“I can. Should we maybe do something to make up for the pain we caused her with our blessings? We do need her to become Zent if we want to save Erwaermen.”

Startled, I opened my eyes and saw several goddesses surrounding me. The place around me was white, like the magically constructed buildings I was used to. The walls and floors were covered in beautiful tapestries and rugs in a mix of vibrant colors. Several women stood around a weaving loom. One of them could have been my twin at my death. These must be Mestionora, Ventuchte, and Dregarnuhr. Why were they talking about making me zent? And taking me back to when I received my divine will, did that mean they were going to send me back in time so that I could avoid dying? If I were sent back, I could save Ferdinand from going to Ahrensbach! But, I don’t want to be zent! Why is this happening to me?

“Wait, please! Why me? I don’t want to be Zent!”

The goddesses all turned to look at me instead of the loom.

“Myne, your prayers are the most sincere, and we acquired you specifically to save Yurgenschmidt, so it must be you. Let’s make it a bit easier for you to succeed. Now, it’s time to go back.”

“Wait! Will I remember my previous life in Yurgenschmidt?”

“Yes, but you will be the only one who can know. Your thread is special since it was gifted to us by your god Omoikane. We must start the reweaving now. Be sure to become Zent this time.”
