To say that Kim is nervous would be an understatement.
His mother’s wedding ring was burning a hole in his pocket. Well, a metaphorical hole. Considering he’s hiding the ring in the hidden compartment in his bedside table. (Because of course he has a hidden compartment.)
From the moment that Kim realized he loved Porchay, he knew the younger boy was it for him. Porchay was the love of his life. His other half. His soulmate.
So, now, to get the chance to have Porchay by his side for the rest of his life? The idea has Kim’s lungs restricting. Even after years of dating, of living together, Porchay still has that effect on Kim.
And right now, Kim is standing in front of Porsche, hoping to get his blessing. Kim is still going to ask Porchay even if Porsche says no. But this sort of thing is important to Porchay.
After all, Kinn did ask Porchay for permission to marry Porsche.
“I want to ask Porchay to marry me,” Kim says when he walks into Porsche’s office.
The man is sitting behind his desk with his hair styled and a button-up with the top four buttons undone, looking every bit the mafia boss he is. It still amuses Kim to see Porsche like this; especially when he knows Porsche would rather be wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
Porsche doesn’t look surprised by Kim’s statement and Kim doesn’t know whether to hate that or not. On the one hand, how dare Porsche think he knows how Kim operates. On the other hand, everyone knows how much Kim loves Porchay.
“Is this you asking for permission or are you telling me?” Porsche says with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.
“I’m trying to do this the right way,” Kim exhales.
“And what if I tell you no?” Porsche replies.
“Then I’m going to marry him anyway,” Kim says. “I don’t want to do it without your permission. It’s important to Porchay, but I’m going to marry him regardless.”
“You’re certain he’ll say yes?” Porsche asks.
“As certain as I was when Kinn asked you to marry him,” Kim replies.
Porsche lets out a low whistle but the smirk he has on his face turns into a small and genuine smile.
“Yeah,” Porsche sighs. “It seems Kittisawasds have a hard time saying no to Theerapanyakul’s.”
Kim laughs. As if they both don’t know that Kim and Kinn would do anything for their respective partners.
As if Kinn didn’t wage war with his father for Porsche. As if Kinn didn’t almost give up the only life he had ever known for Porsche.
And them Kim. As if Kim didn’t face every single one of his demons in order to be vulnerable with Porchay. As if Kim wouldn’t give everything up in order to be with Porchay.
As if the both of them wouldn’t burn the world down if it meant keeping Porsche and Porchay safe.
“When are you going to ask?” Porsche questions.
Kim hums. There are so many times Kim almost asked. A couple of mornings ago when Porchay woke up before him and got up to make breakfast and Kim found him in the kitchen, humming one of his songs.
Or when they were at a new restaurant the other night. They were sitting on a private balcony and the fairy lights reflected in Porchay’s eyes made him seem more angelic than usual.
Or a week ago in the studio when Kim was writing a new song and Porchay jumped in on the piano and harmonized with him; instantly giving Kim more inspiration to finish the song.
“Soon,” Kim says. “Honestly, I… I don’t know how long I’ll be able to keep it a secret from him.”
Porsche’s eyes soften minutely.
“You know,” Porsche says, reclining in his office chair. “When I first found out about you two, I was furious.”
“Oh, really? The death threats you made against me didn’t give it away.” Kim snarks.
Porsche just laughs. “Fucking brat,” he says with absolutely no heat.
“But pretty much immediately, I realized it was very hypocritical of me to be mad at Porchay for dating someone in the mafia,” Porsche says. “And after I learned more about the two of you, the more I learned about you, the happier I was for Porchay. Happy that he has someone in his life who makes him so fucking happy. Someone who will protect him.
“And, I guess,” Porsche continues. “I’m happy for you too. Sure, I didn’t really know you before you and Chay got together — but from what Kinn has told me, you weren’t happy. You surrounded yourself with brick walls and barbed wire, hoping that no one would come in and see the real you. So, I’m happy for you too, Kim. That my brother is someone who makes you feel loved.”
Kim is stunned. He feels like his world has tipped 45 degrees. An honest to god heart-to-heart is not what Kim had expected when he came in here. Sure, he knew that Porsche didn’t want to kill Kim for “defiling” his baby brother; but he wasn’t expecting a full-on endorsement.
Before Kim can really register anything but the shock he is feeling, Porsche gets up from his chair and hauls Kim up into a hug. Kim doesn’t even have time to reciprocate before Porsche is stepping back and ruffling his hair.
“Now you better go ask before he beats you to it,” Porsche winks.

Kim didn’t think the proposal had to be perfect. But it had to be special.
Kim had thought that of their first time together too, which made Porchay look at him all fondly and say that no matter what they did, it would be special.
His angel is just perfect like that.
So when Kim comes home to their empty apartment, he sets his plan into motion. He orders food from Porchay's favorite restaurant and he arranges for one of the bodyguards to set up the food while he goes and picks him up from his meeting with his manager.
Kim does, however, set up the rest of the table. He lights up one of Porchay's favorite scented candles and sets up a few battery-operated candles.
Maybe it’s a little cliche to propose during a candlelit dinner but Kim doesn't care. Porchay loves romantic cliches and Kim loves indulging him.
Kim pulls up outside of the music studio in Chay's favorite car, the Audi R8 that Kim bought him for his debut album release. Porchay had told Kim the car was too much but Chay couldn't hide the excitement in his eyes when he slid into the driver's seat. And when Porchay dragged Kim away from the party that Tankhun was throwing for him, he showed Kim just how thankful he was.
And then the last time they rode in the Audi, well… Kim almost crashed it because Porchay couldn't wait to get to their apartment to get his mouth on him.
Kim is pulled out of his memory when the car door opens and Porchay slides into the passenger seat.
"Oh, the Audi," Porchay says with mirth dripping from his voice. "You want to get lucky tonight?"
Kim smiles and plays along.
"Depends, is the Audi working?" Kim replies. He grabs Porchay's hand and presses a kiss to the back of it. Porchay just looks at him with fondness shining in his eyes.
Kim pulls out of the parking spot and makes his way onto the highway. Kim has one hand on the steering wheel and one hand on Porchay's upper thigh with his thumb rubbing small circles.
"How was your meeting, angel?" Kim asks.
Porchay hums. "It was good. We have a preliminary plan for my next tour." Kim squeezes his hand in response.
"I'm so proud of you," Kim says. Porchay huffs out a small laugh and lays a hand over Kim's hand that's on his thigh.
"I'm proud of you, too," Porchay replies, pulling Kim's hand up and pressing a kiss to each of his fingers.
"Angel," Kim warns. Porchay laughs again and sets Kim's hand back down on his thigh.
"I think we both learned our lesson last time we got too handsy while driving," Porchay says.
"We?" Kim asks with a laugh. "I told you it was a bad idea."
"And yet, you didn't stop me," Porchay teases.
"Well," Kim says. "Whatever my angel wants, my angel gets."
"Don't make checks you can't cash," Porchay says.
"Oh, baby, you know I don't," Kim winks and Porchay laughs.
When Kim pulls up to their apartment and parks the car, Porchay is quickly unbuckling his seatbelt and slides onto Kim's lap and starts pressing kisses to his neck. Kim groans and grabs his boyfriend's hips. His hands slide under the t-shirt Porchay is wearing and pushes his pants down slightly; with Porchay's skin exposed, Kim's fingers graze across his exposed hip bones. Porchay moans into Kim's neck and grinds down.
Kim suddenly feels the weight of the wedding ring in his pocket as Porchay continues to kiss and suck at his neck.
"Angel," Kim says, petting the back of Porchay's head. "I have a surprise for you upstairs."
"Really?" Porchay asks, lifting his head to look at Kim. "What kind of surprise?"
"Well it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you about it, would it?" Kim teases. Porchay pouts and Kim lets out a small laugh and presses a quick kiss to the younger man's lips.
"Come on," Kim says as he opens the car door and drags Porchay to the elevator. Kim keeps Porchay close the entire elevator ride up. He has an arm around Porchay's waist and strokes his thumb over his hip bone; much like he was doing in the car.
Kim guides them from the elevator to their apartment. All of the lights are off when they open the door, but you can see the glow of the candles in the dining room.
Porchay looks at Kim with wide eyes as Kim walks them to the dining room.
"I ordered food from your favorite place," Kim says, ushering Porchay to sit down.
"I can see that," Porchay says as he eyes the plates upon plates of food on their table.
Kim takes a seat next to him and starts filling Porchay's plate with all of his favorites. Porchay continues to stare at Kim with a soft look. Kim returns his gaze.
"Why are you looking at me like that, angel?" Kim teases. Porchay shakes his head and makes a move to start filling up Kim's plate.
"Just wondering what the special occasion is for all of this," Porchay motions to the candles and decor around their dining room.
"Can't a guy spoil his boyfriend for no reason?" Kim asks with mirth in his voice.
"You always have a reason for doing what you do," Porchay replies easily.
"And what if my reason is that I want to spoil my boyfriend?" Kim asks, raising an eyebrow.
Porchay hums as if he's contemplating Kim's answer.
"I guess that's acceptable," Porchay says and presses a kiss to Kim's cheek.
"Here," Kim fills his fork up with food from Porchay's plate and brings it up to his boyfriend's mouth. "Eat."
Porchay opens his mouth and lets Kim feed him. They take turns feeding each other and pressing kisses on each other faces.
Even after the years they have spent together, Kim never tires of the affection. They're not usually this sappy with each other, but Kim is feeling particularly romantic tonight.
Kim just hopes Porhay doesn’t notice the anxiety that lingers under all of Kim’s actions tonight.
Kim isn’t afraid of Porchay saying no. At least, not really. Both of them have said how they want to spend the rest of their lives with each other. So even though Kim is sure Porchay will say yes, it doesn’t stop Kim’s nerves.
“Something is on your mind,” Porchay says, breaking the companionable silence they’ve been sitting in. Porchay grabs Kim’s hand and runs a thumb over his knuckles. Kim feels his heart constrict again for the man sitting in front of him.
“You’re so beautiful,” Kim says, shifting his gaze from their joined hands to Porchay’s deep, dark eyes.
“Flattery will get you everywhere,” Porchay says with a small smile.
“I, uh,” Kim says but stops himself. He needs to stop and think for a moment. He needs to calm the ferocious beating of his heart. Porchay continues to stroke his thumb over Kim’s knuckles.
“I have something to ask you, angel,” Kim says. Porchay gives him an encouraging smile and a nod.
“I love you. I love you so much. I know I don’t express myself normally and I know I can be a bit of a handful,” Kim says.
“A bit,” Porchay teases. Kim laughs.
“But you stay by my side anyway. Because for some reason, I’ve been lucky enough to earn your love. To earn your trust. And that means the world to me. Your love means the world to me. You mean the world to me, Porchay,” Kim says. He stares directly into Porchay’s eyes and tries not to get lost in them. Kim, then, finally pulls the ring out of his pocket. Porchay gasps as Kim shows it to him.
“This was my mother’s wedding ring,” Kim says with tears starting to form. Porchay’s eyes also turn glassy. “She would have adored you, angel. She would love your sense of humor and your stubbornness; just as I love them.”
“Kim…” Porchay says.
“Hold on, baby, just a bit more,” Kim laughs as he feels a tear slip down his cheek. “When we started over again, when you gave me that second chance to prove myself to you, I knew I was going to give you this.” Kim is no longer trying to hold back his tears and neither is Porchay. Kim can only imagine what he looks like; cheeks red and tear-stained as he can’t fight the huge smile on his face as he looks at the love of his life.
“Angel, baby, Porchay, will you marry me?” Kim asks.
Porchay flings himself toward Kim. He wraps his arms around his neck and buries his face into his neck. Kim can feel Porchay’s tears land on his skin. Kim wraps his arms around the younger man’s waist and also buries his face into Porchay’s neck.
“What do you say, angel? Will you marry me? Will you be my husband?” Kim whispers. Porchay’s grip on Kim tightens.
“Of course I’ll marry you. I love you so much,” Porchay gasps.
“I love you,” Kim keeps saying after every kiss he presses onto Porchay’s neck.
“Kim,” Porchay says after what is probably the 12th kiss Kim gives him. Porchay pulls back a little and so he can stop Kim and cup his face. Kim feels the breath leaves his lungs as he looks at the man who agreed to marry him. Kim will never get enough of looking at him.
“Kim,” Porchay says again with a small laugh. “Put the ring on me.”
Kim nods and slides the ring onto Porchay’s finger. When he’s done, Kim presses a kiss to the ring. The ring itself is a gold band and is decorated with emeralds.
Kim watches as Porchay looks down at the ring and smiles.
“It’s beautiful,” Porchay says softly.
“It suits you,” Kim says.
Porchay laughs and presses a kiss to Kim’s lips. Kim watches as Porchay pulls out his phone and then Porchay grabs Kim’s hand and intertwines their fingers. Porchay takes a picture of their joined hands, making sure he shows off the ring and sends the picture to the family group chat and then he promptly turns his phone off.
“Now,” Porchay says in a sultry voice. “Let me show you my appreciation and love, fiancé.”
Kim can feel his eyes darken as Porchay leads them to their bedroom.

Later, when they’re both sated, happy and basking in their afterglow, Porchay grabs his phone and turns it back on and is flooded with messages.
P’Khun: OH MY BABIES! I’m so happy for you!! I have the perfect venue in mind for your ceremony.
Hia: I’m so happy for you guys. Come by for dinner soon. I love you <3
P’Pete: Congrats guys!
Macau: hell yeah brother, secure the bag!
P’Vegas: took you long enough.
P’Kinn: Mom would be so happy for you two.
P’Khun: Her ring suits you beautifully, Chay <3
“My brothers are going to be insufferable,” Kim feels himself pout. Porchay laughs at him and presses a kiss to his head.
“They’re happy for us,” Porchay says.
Kim hums and continues to stroke his hand down Porchay’s side.
“What are you thinking about?” Porchay asks after a few moments of silence.
Kim looks at him and smiles.
“Just thinking about how I’m so happy I get to spend the rest of my life with you.”
