November 26 2023, Abu Dhabi
Charles watched as the red lights disappeared before slamming his foot until he felt the floor of his car through the throttle pedal. His race was smooth sailing until lap 40 where everything went wrong.
Logan Sargeant DNF’d due to a technical issue and in turn required the safety car to slow down the cars on track whilst Logan’s Williams was retrieved. Charles watched as Checo slowly appeared bigger and bigger in his rear view mirrors. He got the message on his radio informing him that the safety car was coming to an end. As they drove through the final corners Charles slowed his pace trying to get the edge on Checo at the restart. One the exit of turn 21 Charles quickly accelerated towards the start finish line before feeling a heavy impact on his right side.
Charles felt as his head slammed into the side of his car as he hurtles towards the metal barriers at 250km. He felt bruises forming all over his body as his red Ferrari rolled down the main straight before Charles suddenly felt like he was flying. By the time Charles realised he was now separated from his car he slammed into the hard tarmac of the track.
