The accident

Summary:

When Molly injures herself at St Bart's Hospital, Sherlock insists her to stay at his flat to recover. While at his flat, things get heated between the two.

Notes:

This is a work in progress and is constantly going to be updated, I apologize for leaving the first half on a cliffhanger but I have been busy lately and haven't had the time to update it. I work on this in my spare time, when I have the chance to, so when I can come back to this fic, it will be updated and hopefully, the first chapter will be completed.
I wanted to publish something that I have had in the works for awhile now, just so y'all had something to read from me.

Hey y'all, I have up dated this fanfic a little bit and made sure to fix up Molly with her injured arm and head, I have also added some extra little details here and there.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

“Sherlock..?” Molly asked him softly.
“Yes Molly?” Sherlock replied coldly without intention.
“Hello..” She answered softly again with hesitation in her voice, unsure of his reaction to her.
“What’s the matter Molly?” Sherlock questioned her, a bit dumbfounded by her timidness.
“Uhm.. nothing.” Molly crossed over to the other side of the lab and sat in a chair, her back towards Sherlock as she filled out some paperwork.
"Molly, I understand that you are a timid, fragile young woman but that doesn't mean you'd have to hide from me. I mean, I understand that I am a difficult..person to talk to but I know when something is wrong. Remember I can see through everything and everyone Molly." As Sherlock speaks, he walks around the lab before stopping in front of her, leaning upon her desk.

“I most certainly know that you’re a difficult person to talk to..” Molly mumbled under her breath before focusing back onto the paperwork. The next time I looked up Sherlock was already standing in front of my desk and gazing at her intently. She jumped slightly because she hadn’t heard him move, he was abnormally quiet when he chose to be. “Don’t bother, Sherlock. There’s nothing no to say anyway.”
"Are you sure about that Miss Cooper? I know that you are quite the chatterbox." Sherlock smirked softly while gazing down at her. He knew that something was bothering her since she'd rather shove her face into piles and piles of paper work instead of indulging in conversation with him.
“I’m quite sure of it.” Molly spoke softly and a bit shakily. She felt flustered by his gaze and could feel her cheeks turning a deep crimson colour. Picking up her papers she stood from the chair she was sitting in, “well you seem like you’re a busy man so I’ll just- uhm, be in our.. I mean my office..” Molly mentally facepalms herself and advances over to the office quickly, shutting the door.

Sherlock grinned to himself as he watched her flee, flustered, by him. He stretched, straightening himself up from leaning over her desk. He took mental notes on how quickly and easily it was to make Molly tremble underneath him. He also took notes on how she acts around him and how different she acts around others.
Molly sighs a breath she didn’t know she was holding. Molly glanced down at her watch. “It’s almost time for my lunch break.” She mutters and spends about 10 minutes writing and filling out a large stack of papers. Molly files them away, coming out of the office and glancing over at Sherlock. “Do you want something to eat? I’m on my lunch break and I don’t mind getting you something.” She fidgets with her hands, her cheeks blooming in another blush once again.
Sherlock was now leaned in a chair with his feet crossed and upon the desk. He had his hands pressed together and pressed up to his nose. "No thanks Molly. I have to think." He responded coldly while glaring across the room towards her.

Molly stares at Sherlock a bit longer before nodding her head, “alright, I’ll see you when I come back then.” She smiled gently and walked out of the room. Molly walks down a flight of stairs and trips clumsily on her shoelace, causing her to fall down another flight of stairs. Once she finally became immobile her arm hurt like hell along with her head. She lay face down on the cold tile floors, slowly growing unconscious.
When Sherlock heard Molly tumble down the stairs he dashed out of the lab room and towards the stairs Molly flew down. "Molly?!" He questioned her as a slight bit of panic spread through him. Sherlock slowly came to a stop beside Molly and began to observe her. Checking her pulse, making sure nothing was bleeding or damaged. Once finished, he carefully picked her up by crossing her arms, grabbing her wrists, and placing her arms over his shoulders, beginning to drag her up so her abdomen was placed over his shoulder so he could carry her up to one of the nearest beds so she can rest.

While carrying Molly he made sure that no one saw them in such a state and that Molly was okay.
Sometime after their trip to the room full of beds, Sherlock let out a huff of air as he placed her gently down onto the bed. He made sure that the bed was in a secluded area of the room, not to be seen by anyone.
Once again he began to rake his eyes down along her body, double checking that she was not seriously injured. While his eyes glided down her he began noticing more and more details about her. During notice more things about Molly he began..smiling. He noticed how hard she made herself presentable for work and how detailed she made herself look. She had her hair done up in a neat ponytail, she made herself dress up neatly but in her own, special way.
The way she wears her perfume, Chanel Chance Eau Tendre to catch his or maybe others attention considering it has an ever-changing scent of floral, spicy, sensual and gourmand, with heightened floral and vanilla notes. This perfume will most definitely make anyone more attracted to her via smell, not looks per-say. If she'd dress up into something more sultry and carefree the patients must throw themselves at Molly.
As Sherlock's mind continued to wonder about Molly's appearance Sherlock's eyes always drifted up to her lips.
When he realised that he was staring at her lips he blinked harshly and shook his head.

Why? Why oh why was he looking at Molly's lips? Sure they were plump yet thin...kissable but not his to kiss.
Why was he even thinking like this? Why was he feeling like this? As he was staring at the unconscious woman on the bed, he realised that he slowly started to blush and his heart rate shot up.
Gosh, was he falling for her? No he couldn't be! That is a human error to feel emotions, especially when it came to attraction. It was wrong to feel like this towards someone.

Sherlock slowly got a hold of himself and then slowly got up. He ruffled his hair quickly before letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
He then quickly spun on his heels to go and find a doctor, or a nurse to take a look at Molly’s arm. Once he found someone he lured them to where Molly was resting and left the doctor to examine her arm as she was still unconscious. When he knew that she was in safe hands, he swiftly made his way to the canteen to grab Molly some lunch.
Molly awoke with a jolt and sat upright. She looked around panicking wondering where the hell she was before it all settled back into her fuzzy brain. She recalled tumbling down the stairs and a very deep, rich masculine voice reverberated down the halls and into her ears. She knew that voice from miles away. “Sherlock..” She whispered to herself and bright a hand to her pounding head.

Her right arm hurt like hell, she looked down to examine it and she might have a fracture or sprain, she recalls falling down on one of her limbs before she hit her head.

Molly looks around and takes in the atmosphere, she’s seen this room a very few times but not many. She holds her injured arm close to her side and she notices that her arm has been placed in a splint to hold her wrist in place as it healed and then a sling was placed around her, securing her arm in place too, so she wouldn’t move it around as much as she originally would. Molly also had an ice pack suited to her head, exactly where she hit it.
Molly slowly slides off the bed carefully, making sure her feet are stable and steady before walking out of the room.

Sherlock made his way around the corner after gathering various snacks for Molly. He soon entered the resting ward and noticed that Molly wasn't where he put her. Panic spread throughout him and he started to frantically search for her. "Molly?!"
He began to search the corridors, looking for her, calling her name.
Sherlock finally found her back in the lab. "Molly.." He sighed softly. "Why did you leave your bed? You're hurt. I placed you there so you could rest since you became unconscious. You've hurt your head and your arm, I need to check you over but instead you left, on your own, without my assistance. Well..you’ve had some assistance, I got a doctor to examine you so he could look at you medically since I wasn’t really available. I went to go and gather you somethings. Things you wanted before your little accident." Sherlock looked over to her with a sad and worried look on his face. He wasn't so sure why she left. Maybe to go looking for him?
"I uh, I got you some snacks since you said that you were on your way to the canteen before tumbling down the stairs." Sherlock pulled out a packet of Quavers and a small pot of oats with chopped up strawberries on top. He calmly made his way over to her, placing them with her. "Please eat.."

Molly turns at the sound of her name being hollered through the empty corridors. She was standing near her desk, papers and pencils scattered around haphazardly. Her eyes never left the door to enter the lab. The rather speedy footsteps never ceased and the voice once again, was calling her name.

She was as quiet as could be, she knew who it was obviously, he wouldn’t be very pleased to see her up and about already. The door finally swooped open, there he was. Sherlock seemed to have some sort of.. snacks with him? Gosh the man could be so arrogant and an arse to deal with but the other times where he shows signs of slight affection and to care, it’s always extremely worth it and Molly cherishes those moments like no other.

His deep, rumbly voice always made Molly’s body squirm, it still did even when she was injured. She took a moment to really ponder about what he was saying since she was in a haze. “Oh, uhm yeah- I woke up and I freaked out a little because I didn’t remember what happened but.. now I’m recalling what events that have transpired and I’m fine now. I don’t need you to worry about me.” Molly spoke a bit slurred and her words jumbled together almost afraid to have someone else worry for her since she’s pretty much always been on her own.
She held her injured arm close to her body as Sherlock approached. Molly felt another flush rise in her cheeks and she wouldn’t look him in the eyes without becoming a total flustered mess. Sherlock handed her the snacks he got for her. She didn’t feel like eating at the moment but still took them in her smaller hands. “Thank you, Sherlock. You don’t really need to take care of me, I’m a grown woman. I appreciate you getting me the food.” She grinned timidly and locked eyes with him for a second before walking back to her desk to continue on with her work like nothing had even happened to her.

"Well Molly, that is the least I can do since you do everything for me already. I need to do something for you, hence why I carried you to the resting room, or whatever it's called. You should be there, not here, you're injured. You need to be resting Molly, not working. Not in this state." Sherlock had narrowed his eyes towards her as he clicked on to why she was here. "If it makes you feel any better, you can rest at mine? I know that you won't rest here or even take a day or two off to rest, so I say the best possible outcome to this is to stay at mine. You really shouldn't be working, you could sustain more injuries than what you already have."
“Sherlock I am able to take care of myself and I really don’t mind anymore about the tasks you give me. I’m used to being busy and your personal lapdog.” Molly attempts to move her arm, forgetting that she was in a sling. She moved her arm briefly before her arm made a sort of crackling noise and she tears up and brought it back to her body like a bird does with an injured wing. “I have to work, Sherlock. I can’t not do it and it doesn’t matter if I’m injuries my job just doesn’t stop when I’m injured.. even though I would like to go to your flat I’d be nothing but a bother and in your way.” She looks down at the ground and scowls to herself, she feels useless now, her head and arm hurt like hell and it probably would be a good idea to go with him and rest once she thought about it for a minute or two.

"Molly, you are not useless. You have been everything but useless. Also, you really shouldn't move or be working with that arm. You have to rest. You aren't a bother, nor will you be in the way. If anything, you'd be comfort in my books. Me and Mrs Hudson can care for you. She always cares for me when I need it.. even when I refuse, she still gives it to me.
Now.." He breathed, walking towards her. "Please take up my offer and come with me to my flat. Now." Sherlock said as he held out his hand towards her.

Molly shakes her head to his words. Ugh his stupid seductive voice and his stupid handsome looks.. she wonders what he’d do to her if she just blatantly said no to his face. Her thoughts quiet down as she listens more intently to his voice. Her eyes close and she finally nods her head slightly, turning around to look at him she gets a startle. She didn’t hear him move closer, they were only a few inches away from each other. Molly swallows and fights the urge to take a few steps back, gosh the man was intimidating.. “If you insist, Sherlock. I don’t really need help with.. anything and I wouldn’t dare bother your poor landlady. I do think it is a good idea to go with you. I think I would be safer with someone looking after me instead of myself on my own. I’ll just uhh- grab my stuff and lock up the lab.” She casts her gaze to his hand, breathing out a quiet shaky sigh she grabs his hand gently, almost afraid to touch the man she’s been crushing on for years.

"Nonsense Molly. You won't be a bother to Mrs Hudson. She has all sorts around there. Misses Turner, next door to me, has married ones." He smirked softly, remembering when she said that to John.
Sherlock grasped hold of her small, tender hand before pulling her away softly, making sure not to hurt her. Sherlock brought her around the lab to gather her stuff before bringing her outside of the lab. He briefly let go of her hand to lock up the lab, and then he grasped it again as they started to head off towards Baker Street, leaving Saint Bart’s.

“All right. If you’re so sure about it. Would I be uhh.. spending the night there as well?” Molly asked cautiously with a glance up at his face as he led her over to her office so she could grab her belongings. Once that was done Sherlock walked Molly out of the lab then locked it. Molly didn’t know he had a key with him this whole time, why did he always message her at random hours during the day and night to come unlock the lab and make her supervise him if he already has a damn key? She shook her head, his hand grasped her own once again. She couldn’t help but flush red at the gentle contact and warmth of his much bigger hand connected with her own. She was happy when they began to make their way over to Baker Street.

"Yes, Molly. You'll be staying here till you are fully healed and rested." Sherlock said as he dragged her inside Baker Street. "Mrs Hudson! Molly will be staying with me for a few nights since she has injured herself during a fatal fall." He called out to the elderly woman before pulling Molly upstairs to his flat.
"Now, Molly, since you'll be here for a few nights, a week, minimum. I will need your house key to go and gather your things, while you stay here and Mrs Hudson will take care of you while I am gathering your things.
Now I am sure that you know this flat's layout but if you don't. My room is down the hall, the bathroom to the left, the kitchen on the right, and obviously, the living room." Sherlock took a deep inhale before exhaling slowly. He outstretched his hand, asking for Molly's house key.

“Alright, I won’t argue. I don’t know how I could function around my own flat by myself with my injured arm.” Molly ducks her head down as Sherlock raises his voice to shout at the poor landlady. Sherlock drags Molly up the stairs and she follows him as best as she can, he has to be mindful that she’s much smaller and a fragile person. Not to mention how fast he walks and Molly almost has to jog to keep up with his large strides. As he starts rambling on about her flat she already began searching for her flat keys. “Thank you for letting me stay here, Sherlock, it's really kind of you. My flat keys are in my right back pocket of my pants. Do you think you could get them?” Molly inquires quietly keeping her gaze to his chest. She bites her bottom lip as she notices his buttons strain every time he inhales a breath.

"You're welcome, Molly." Sherlock frowned slightly as Molly said where her house keys were. "I'm sorry, where?" He asked again before sucking in a deep breath as his cheeks began to redden slightly at her request.

Molly nodded and smiled up at him. She admired herself for making the very intimidating detective ask her to repeat what she said again, “I said my flat keys are in my right back pocket of my pants. I can’t reach them due to my right arm being disabled at the moment. You need my keys and I told you where they were. Is there any problem?” She asks, raising an eyebrow and meeting his icy gaze.

"No. No problem at all." He spoke as if he was unfazed, but in reality, he was extremely flustered by her request to go into her back pocket. He nodded softly before slightly embracing her, his hands slid down her back, grazing over her buttock then slipping into her right-hand back pocket, pulling out her keys, slowly. His hands still running along her bottom, agonisingly slow, before pulling away, hoping to gain a reaction from her.

“Good..” Molly visibly tenses up at how close they are now. She saw flecks of gold in Sherlock’s irises. Gosh his eyes were mesmerising. She blinked a few times then moved her gaze to the floor shyly. His shoes so black and shiny and especially much bigger than her own. The hand running down her back nudged Molly even closer to Sherlock’s chest, she could feel the heat radiating off his body from under his clothes. Molly shuddered when his hand brushed against her bottom then slid into her pocket to grab the keys. The bastard most certainly took his time fishing out her keys and then finally he had them in his hand. Who knew you could blush so much? Her face was practically the colour of a cherry from the sensations Sherlock gave her. Molly did anything and everything to not have work look him in his face or eyes, she would absolutely fall apart right now if she took even a glance at his gorgeous features.

“My eyes are up here Miss Hooper.” Sherlock said as he caught her trying her very best not to look up at him so she doesn’t get more aroused as she already was. As he spoke his voice was so low it vibrated in his chest, causing a shiver to drive down her spine all the way to her core. He knew exactly what to do when it came to teasing or arousing others to get what he wanted and what he wanted most in this moment, was her.
